Also to that other anon who thinks C left R and he was probably cheating on her. Is it possible? Sure. But you gotta look at the full picture of why he is the one considering as leaving. Ryan has gone to leave her multiple times and has even stated multiple times over the years in various interviews online how their relationship was about to end and he was done only for her to end up pregnant thus pausing it. Then it happened again and she got pregnant again pausing it. And then the pandemic again paused it. Then we get to the last year. Ryan was the one who first started slowly removing her from his SM. She continued on as everything was fine while he erased her off it. Wouldn’t make much sense for her to continue pushing the were in love, look at my ring, couples goal that she did if she had left him. Then we get to the hello article. We won’t ever know the full story with that but in my opinion it was released before it was supposed to. But it was very clear by the tone of it, he called it. He ended it. And while neither ever officially commented on it, she very much went scorched earth after it and completely purged him immediately and blocked him. Now from there it becomes speculation because let’s be real we won’t ever find out the full story, but it’s obvious the article releasing made them lose control of whatever narrative they were trying for during the separation. The entire summer we just had to endure with them? That was them putting the effort in to regaining control over it. So now they could end it on their terms. It’s been very clear Ryan is and has been done with their relationship so, I’d speculate he agreed to “reconcile” for the summer so she’d have her “husband” for her bikini competition (which she dropped out of) the movie premiere, her 30th birthday, their paid trip (I’d hazard the deal was for the both of them with a heavy insinuating he be there because he does have the bigger fan base and would be more likely to drum up business after their reviews), her friends wedding, and then finally her song release. So all of that done the only thing left is the actual separation. Now taking into account her reaction to it the first time, and the kind of person she is, I’d say it’s pretty obvious while they regained control of their narrative she wouldn’t want to come off as the “spouse who got left” this time around. It would be better for her image going forward if she could play the I left him card (and let’s be real Ryan will be fine if he’s seen as the one who got left and we all know jt) so what happens? She deletes him off her posts and reels first this time. She follows a few divorce and coparent pages that especially paint her fellow co parent in a bad light and her as the perfect partner and victim. And then she unfollows him. And just like that she now gets to say she left him. He doesn’t care because again he’ll be fine and he’s finally free. Was his ss that outed him an accident? Idk. Part of me says yes but part of me says no. There have been rumors around him and that subject for years at this point so it wasn’t a big shock to a lot of people. More just like a confirmation. And now going forward he can be more free with it if he wants and it won’t be a big deal because oh hey everyone already saw that ss. But what that ss did also do, It gave her what she needed to fully lean into the “wife scorned and reasons to leave him” narrative I feel she insisted on this time around. She relied a lot on Ryan’s fans and with them separated that’s gone. They aren’t gonna stick around for her. So what does that leave her? Fan’s she manages to makes on her own, and falling back on her gun range fans, the more conservative fans, and the religious fans. And being able to play the I left my husband because he was toxic and not straight locks those three particular groups right into place where she needs them.

Soul Food: The Fine Arts - Sugar Shacks

With open arms, Soul Food: The Fine Arts took in all walks of life and allowed passionate creatives to express theirselves freely. Beyond a non-existent canvas, souls were captivated by the performer’s artistic flair. Through the means of all-around awareness, relatability and just having fun — Soul Food: The Fine Arts created a settling ambience. But really, it was everyone involved who made this event worthwhile. It was hard to not take notice of the musician and poet’s way with words. In the hands of urgency, they reeled out inner thoughts, doubts even fears. Other times, they would lend a hand (with precaution). Still, everyone was there to simply enjoy the arts. Sparks flied, friendships rekindled and networks formulated in a smooth manner.

A tale of all tales — Soul Food: The Fine Arts is one for the books. Certainly, this event will go down in history.

Here are 5 creatives that I had the pleasure to speak to with at this diverse event and thank you Big Dawg K for the opportunity:

Ivan Polanco: A singer/songwriter who creates R&B and acoustic pop music — Ivan Polanco is one who provides within his lyrics that he’s just a young man growing up in this day in age. Sure, every guy has love/heartbreak songs but for him its to a certain extent. In his perspective, his music speaks about what a young man encompasses during his growth. Sonically, Ivan’s voice embodies real emotion and care. Moreso, it’s very soft, crystallized and adaptable to change when needed be. Initially Polanco started his music career with the drums. Since his dad was also fond of singing and songwriting, he would play the drums for him from time to time. But Pacheco’s dad seen it more as a hobby. Being a self-taught musician, Ivan decided to dabble into singing and sought to write his own music. A source says that Polanco knew Big Dawg K earlier on. But they lost contact, reconnected and discovered (10 years later) that they both were still making music. In a span of 9 years, Polanco has released 4 albums. Currently, he’s working on another called To Grow. Essentially, it comes with the notion that “this man is 26,” he’s grateful for those he’s encountered and very proud of his journey. Besides being an artist, Polanco is a personal trainer. His advice to all is to be happy with who you are. “Find your voice.” he adds.

Bobby Sanchez: Bobby Sanchez is one who passes it forward. In the name of education — Sanchez does his part in informing the world about current issues that are (sometimes) unheard of. But really, he wants to be more than heard. Sanchez aims to decolonize the way others think and reconstruct the past in a narrative that’s centered around the indigenous perspective. Apart from this, Sanchez’s cadence depicts the pain felt by our ancestors. In pursuit, his words are taken with much intensity and remembrance. A 24 year old hip-hop artist and poet from New Rochelle, New York — Bobby Sanchez started writing raps/poetry seriously after leaving high school. Back then, it helped him to find purpose and healed him from the depression he was going through at the time so, he went with it. At the break of dawn, Sanchez keeps his family in mind because they keep him motivated. Funnily enough, his ancestors are also a source for inspiration. Sanchez adds “I can feel their [his ancestors] presence on a daily basis.” A strength of his in music, comes from the truth. “It takes courage to speak out against issues that others are not talking about.” For instance, his song “Pasion” was him, looking within to find a truth. To warm up, he reads books about new concepts so it can be added between the lines of his rhymes. “Most books have to do with colonialism, relating to Latin America, as well as indigenous cosmology.” Sanchez says. Currently, Sanchez is sitting on about 9-10 songs. He plans on releasing them every week for the next couple of months.

Lady Kay: The saying “..walk a mile in someone else's shoes.” goes a pretty long way. Especially when you’re Lady Kay. At most, empathic — Lady Kay possesses the skill to feel and understand. As part of her execution, Lady Kay gives a powerful delivery when it comes to speaking the world’s truth. Still, it gets tough for her to do so, when revealing her own. To define her style, Kay says its moreso persona poems. Essentially, Kay goes into their perspective but it can get difficult at times when she has to come for herself. For instance Kay’s poem ‘Don’t Sleep With An Artist’ takes a jab at those who get romantically involved with artist. And funnily enough, she is an artist. Sometimes, she even offends those who listen unintentionally because they believe her poem is about them. But, she’s just doing her part through bold statements and social awareness. Lady Kay put the pen to the pad in 3rd grade. Then she pursued spoken word after high school. Kay adds “I’m not really emotional, but I can write out feelings.” Really, this is what pushed her towards poetry. Now, Kay is apart of a collective called Femsovl. The goal for all 3 is to create events that are calm, cool and collected. In Kay’s words, she relates with this: “To speak your truth whether on a soap box or stage. Its all you" From her poetry, Lady Kay wants others to feel the intensity. She is currently working on a book that’ll include short stories, interactive pieces and illustrations.

Smoove Babii: One who armors the heart on his sleeve — Smoove Babii speaks from within and astounds others with his familiarity on personal experiences. But really, he self-identifies as “a fireball of energy who just demands attention with his presence.” Smoove Babii comes with the intent of being a safe haven for those who need it. He’d like for people to feel safe when they tune in. However, what he really means is that he’d like for others to feel safe being theirselves. Babii adds “I want them to feel safe by knowing their not the only ones in life going through or has been through what they might experience.” In a passionate tonality, Babii is able to reel out inner emotions. To put it further, his poetry is raw, aggressive and often times, understanding. Likewise, there’s no theme to his mastery. “My mood really determines how creative my poetry gets.” Smoove Babii says. Speaking of which, his favorite verse out of his poems is: What to do? Is the question I ask myself every day. MJ has been trying to tell us for years that, THEY DON'T REALLY CARE ABOUT US! So, I talk to THE MAN IN THE MIRROR as I put my coat on. Everybody wants to be THRILLER but they out there trying to make us GHOST! I get BUTTERFLIES in my stomach every time I walk out my door. Seeing who's trying to ROCK WITH ME! Hope my family doesn't have to REMEMBER THE TIMES I MOONWALK back through my door. Look at my brothers as JACKSON 5 and go to school to learn my ABCs and make it easy as 123 and stop leaving BILLY JEANS and chasing these girls to ROCK THEY WORLD! We all are not SCARECROWS, WE ALL HAVE BRAINS, we must show them that WE ARE NOT ALONE and together we are INVINCIBLE so they can just BEAT IT with all those images of all us being SMOOTH CRIMINALS! This is bigger than being BLACK OR WHITE, that's why I get down on my knees and pray at night. Not to forgive me for my sins or beg to let me in but for forgiveness, just in case the cops have to JOE JACKSON me and I can't see my kids. 

From Smoove Babii’s upcoming poetry expect it to be more personal, deep, and talk about adventures that have formed him into who he is. Also, expect poetry albums and poetry EP’s as well. Acoustic Cat: Acoustic Cat reminds us why we fell in love with music to begin with. As he goes to great lengths to bring back fine tunes, Acoustic Cat adds his flair through guitar progressions and gruffness. Likewise, Cat goes for a sound that’s more 60’s-70’s. To start off, Acoustic Cat got his big break after joining a rock/medal band. Although he toured around New York City with them and considered them “brothers”, Cat ventured off on his own. To describe what he goes for, its moreso a “naked” sound. In a word it’s an exploration of rock, jazz and everything in between. On the other hand, Acoustic Cat says his now-solo career is a learning curve. But the more he does it, the easier it gets. One message he tries to tell others is to stay positive. Through life’s ups and downs, Cat won’t stop until his sound becomes universal.

Summary of Smeraldo

Smeraldo (Italian):

1.  Noun (m plural smeraldi): emerald (gemstone) Lo smeraldo è una gemma verde. ― Emerald is a green gemstone.

2.  Adjective (invariable): emerald-like in colour; emerald green (attributive) Un mare color smeraldo. ― An emerald-coloured sea.

The first time the term “Smeraldo” appeared in BTS content, it was in a tweet posted by Jin on the 9th August 2017, and accompanied by this photo:

After some research, ARMY discovered a blog called Flower Smeraldo and that Smeraldo was the name of a flower - the ones we see in Jin’s arms above. All of this content is actually a creation from Big Hit for the Love Yourself series and the BU. ARMY thoroughly searched everything about Smeraldo and Youes made a thread about it on One Hallyu. This post is mainly based on this thread, with the addition of the content released in 2018.

Flower Smeraldo

It’s a blog owned by a character named Testesso.

First, there was a series of posts published in 2017 that was eventually deleted. However, the translated blog created by ktaebwi is still up so you can see it here.

The first posts were reposted in 2018 but we also got modified and new ones (translation by Cafe ARMY).

In 2020, a third iteration of the blog happened. The first two posts were similar to the previous years but the third story (English translation by Haru and Doolsetbangtan), the ninth story (English translation by Haru), the tenth story (English translation by Haru), and the eleventh story (English translation by Haru) were completely new.

This an element from the BU: the identical posts are due to time travel (the past is happening again) and to Seokjin’s actions (he met Testesso the first time but not the second one, thus the different posts).

The story of Smeraldo

Through these blog posts, Testesso told his and Smeraldo flowers’ stories. These stories are the posts that were posted in both 2017 and 2018. There are seven posts in total and you can read their translation in English by ktaebwi here.

The legend of Smeraldo is similar to classics like The hunchback of Notre-Dame or Beauty & the Beast - where a monstrous being has to live hidden and can’t receive love. It’s apparently an authentic Italian oral story (the original has an epilogue where the man pays for the funeral and is finally able to give the flower, on the girl’s tomb).

The legend has been referenced in “전하지 못한 진심” (The Truth Untold), a song in Love Yourself 轉 Tear. The lyrics are similar to the story. It also connects with the concept of the album, where the Boy changed himself for a girl to the point of becoming unable to recognize himself, but remained unable to receive love.

We also have a reference to William Ashbless in 花樣年華 The Notes 1, in the last double-page where you can see an abstract of a paper titled Study on the Narrative Structure of Playing Cards: Focusing on The Flower Card.

In the BU

Past the 7th story post, Testesso’s publications are very close to the BU.

His posts from the 15 August 2017 and 30 August 2017 fit with Seokjin’s Note in Her and Tear for August YEAR 22. In addition, Jin is seen with a bunch of smeraldo flowers in his Love Yourself poster. It’s also identical to the end of the Highlight Reel, where we learn why Seokjin went to buy Smeraldo flowers: because he found a girl’s diary relating how she wanted to find this flower. He did it for her, to show her the flowers while giving her back her diary.

On September 3, Testesso announced that for personal reasons, he had to stop his activities. The day after, “Serendipity” was released and we didn’t hear of him until the reposting in 2018.

This time, Testesso’s post for the 15 August 2018 explains that he didn’t see anyone. It fits with Seokjin’s 30 August YEAR 22 Note in Answer where it’s explained he renounced to search the Smeraldo flower and just gave the diary back to the girl. There are two new posts following this modified one: the first announces the opening of the shop, the second is the day before the opening where the florist is worried by a typhoon.

Those two new posts are actually references, not to the BU, but to the Love Yourself Tour in Seoul, which was held on the 25 August at Jamsil Stadium - same place and same date as the Smeraldo shop. And indeed, there was a shop at the concert venue where ARMY could buy Smeraldo merchandise. The opening of the shop was also the occasion to see the Smeraldo logo which is a combination of the logos for the Love Yourself Series.

A flower can also be seen in “Singularity” and in “FAKE LOVE”.

There are actually several Easter eggs in this fictive creation, which helped the fans realizing Big Hit was behind everything, even before it was officially stated:

The blog was created on the 4th July 2017, the same day BTS new logo was revealed

The smeraldo flower was discovered on June 12, 2013, the date BTS debuted

There was an event where people were offered to submit a story. There were 7 winners (as many as BTS members) and the limit date to submit was August 15, the date the last episode of Bon Voyage was released. Salon translated a thread written by one of the winners here.

“BTS” is in the file name of the pictures on the blog. In the same idea, you can see “Seokjin’s flower” in Korean in the metadata of the page

In a picture showing the first order, we can see that the customer’s signature is identical to Jin’s. Same with an Instagram post showing Jin’s handwriting. Another element relating to Seokjin is a screenshot, taken at 12:04pm (as in December 4th, Seokjin’s birthday)

At the BAFTAs after party (Reader’s choice fic)

Summary: Your friend, who is dj-ing at the BAFTA’s after party sneaked you in as it was always your dream to once be on such a glamorous after party. Over the course of the night you met three hot guys, but fate didn’t seem to work in your favor and you lost them out of sight. As you were about to give up, you ran into one of them again...

author’s note: I had the idea after I saw the pictures and instagram posts after the BAFTA’s and with the Oscars ahead, I thought this would help pass the time until the next picutre-palooza. Enjoy!

your dress

It was the night of the BAFTA’s and you had heard so many great stories about the afterparties that it was always your dream to once be there and be able to party with all the stars. When your best friend was hired as the main DJ for the night, it was your way to get in.

Around 11 pm, when most of the guests had arrived after the gala, your friend sneaked you in through the backdoor. “Wow, Y/N, you look amazing”, she said as you both walked down the hall and you took off your coat. “God, I hope so. It took me all day”, you replied, but shot her a thankful smile.

You had your hair in big, flowy waves, your eyes were framed in a tasteful amount of eyeliner and some smokey-eye make-up. “Give me your coat, there’s a little room backstage for the staff, which I am tonight. I can keep it there for you”, she offered and took your coat and your purse from you. With your hands now free, you fluffed up the flowy skirt of your dark green dress. You had stuffed your feet in plateau high-heels which you immediately regretted, but they looked so good with the dress.

The music got louder the further you got to the main hall. “Alright, I have to make a left here, right ahead is the club. You will blend in nicely, I have no doubts. Have fun and don’t do anything I wouldn’t do”, she advised you with a smile. “So, anything goes?”, you asked sarcastically. “Exactly”, she winked at you, gave you a quick peck on your cheek and turned left at the next corner. “Wait, my purse!”, you called out after her. “Catch”, she shouted and threw you your purse while she kept walking backwards.

You brushed some hair out of your face, took a deep breath and gripped your little purse tighter before you stepped through a swing door where all the waiters and other staff was going through.

The music surrounded you as soon as you walked out of the doors and it put you in a sort of cocoon as you wandered at the edge of the crowd, getting a good overview of the party. You saw a few familiar faces you knew from TV and a few musicians. You tried really hard not to be overwhelmed by the situation.

You were finally here, taking in the glamorous atmosphere in the room. People celebrating, having fun, dancing and drinking. That’s exactly what you needed to do next, get a drink. You felt a little intimidated being all by yourself. Normally, you only partied with a bunch of friends.

You made your way over to the bar. You leaned against the dark wood panel, your hands rested on the counter as you craned your neck to spot the bartender to place your order. “This might take a while, I’ve been waiting to order a beer for five minutes now”, you heard someone next to you. You turned around and had to tilt your head back a bit to be able to look the man in the eyes. You immediately noticed his height and attractive features. A smile formed on your face as you scanned his.

“Maybe I should order two drinks then, so it holds out for a while”, you joked and turned the rest of your body towards him. “This might not be the worst idea”, he chuckled and leaned against the bar as well. “I’m Gwil”, he held out his hand for you. “Y/N”, you said and took his hand. You held it for a few moments longer than usual and a flirtatious smile formed on your face.

“It looks like it will still be a while until we get our drinks”, you said as you took a look over your shoulder, looking for the bartender, who was preparing drinks at the other end of the bar. “I don’t mind waiting with the right company”, he said and couldn’t take his eyes off of you. You turned your head back around and found him scanning you from top to bottom. You were glad you had gone with the very low neckline that almost went down to your belly button. You inhaled deeply and stretched out your chest.

You were in a flirty mood and just like your friend had suggested, you should have fun tonight, anything goes!

You took a little step closer to him, your hand rested near his on the counter. You liked that he was so tall. Even in these ridiculous high shoes you still had to look up at him. All of a sudden you imagined how you would have to get on your toes to kiss him and his hands would steady you at your hips, grip them tighter and pick you up so you could wrap your legs around his waist.

You unintentionally licked your lips at the thought and his eyes shot down to your red painted lips and back up to your eyes again.

“Good evening, what can I get you?”, the bartender suddenly appeared next to you and you automatically took a step back, like you’ve been caught in your dirty thoughts. Gwil gestured towards you so you could place your order first. “Ehm…I’ll have a martini, dry”, you said and sorted your thoughts. “I’ll take a beer”, he ordered and turned back to you. “It’s an open bar”, he mentioned as he saw you fumbling for money in your purse. “Oh, great”, you were delighted by the news. “Also, I wouldn’t have let a gorgeous lady like you pay for your drink. My British upbringing wouldn’t allow me to”, he added with a flirtatious smile himself. “Thank god for the British men”, you said as you took the glass that had just been placed in front of you and raised it to him. Gwil grabbed his glass as well with a nod.

You clinked glasses and took a sip. You immediately felt the alcohol calming your nerves a bit. Just as Gwil wanted to say something, a hand appeared on his shoulder. “Excuse me, Gwil, sorry”, a man interrupted him. “They need you for a group photo”, the man said to him. Gwil shot you an apologetic look. “I’m afraid I have to go”, he said and you could see that he would rather stay here with you, seeing where the night would take you. “It’s okay, go. Thank you for the drink”, you said and raised your glass with a wink.

He gave you one last longing look before he turned around and followed the man. You took another sip from your drink and turned back to the bar, placing your glass in front of you. You were sad for a second that he had to go, but then you realized that the night was young and the room was pretty much filled with cute guys. Time to find someone else to flirt with…and maybe more.

You emptied your drink in two big sips, grabbed your purse and continued your journey through the room. As you passed a mirrored surface in the club, you stopped for a second to check your lipstick after your drink.

You walked through the room, noticing that there was a first floor full of booths. They stairs to it was guarded by a big guy in an all-black suit. So, there was no way you would be able to get past him.

You ended up right at the surface of the dancefloor. It was nicely filled and you looked for a good spot to enter. You were almost at the DJ booth and spotted your friend. She raised her head just at the same moment and you two locked eyes. She raised her right thumb with a questioning facial expression, like she wanted to ask you if everything was going well so far. You nodded with smile and raised your thumbs as well. Before you could turn around again, she motioned you to wait and the next moment, your favorite song blasted through the boxes. You rolled your eyes, but a big smile formed on your face. This girl knew your jam.

You turned back around to her and mouthed the words I HATE YOU. She countered with LOVE YOU TOO. You turned towards the dancefloor and flicked your hair back. Let’s do this!

You strutted through the crowd, pumped up by your favorite tune, right to the middle of the dancefloor. It wasn’t too crowded, but not empty enough that it would be embarrassing. You started swaying your hips to the beat of the song, raising your arms, turning around. Your friend was playing all your hits and held you at a constant high. As soon as you realized that you actually didn’t know anyone here and probably would never meet again, you shook off the rest of your hesitations and felt more and more confident by the minute.

Out of the corner of your eye, you saw someone dancing as wild as you. You turned around to find a browned-haired ball of energy, giving it his all with all kinds of silly moves. You immediately liked him. You didn’t see anyone that looked like a date dancing close to him, so you made your move. As you came closer, he spotted you as you were only a few steps away. You both immediately saw the mischief in each other’s eyes and you just clicked, dancefloor-wise.

He pulled out all the classic dance moves and you were all for it. He took out is imaginary fishing rod and reeled you in until you were right in front of him. You two basically battled each other about who knew the most stupid dance moves.

When your friend put on a more sexy song for a change, you also decided to mix it up a bit. You stepped closer to him and started walking around him in the rhythm of the song, letting your fingers linger on his chest, then following you around his body until you were back in front of him. “Nice moves you got there”, he screamed over the music near your ear. As you almost fell out of the dancing crowd at the edge of the dancefloor, you turned around and noticed that Joe had gone missing. You craned your neck but you couldn’t find his face in the crowd. With a big sigh, you decided to step back into your shoes. You didn’t want to be that girl who was walking around barefoot at the BAFTA’s afterparty.

You looked for the women’s toilet and per usual, had to wait in line. And while you waited, your mind started wandering.
