I have this headcanon that Sadie tried really hard to be white while she lived with her grandparents BC its implied that they loved Sadie because she was light and had blue eyes so she relaxed her hair all the time and dyed it blonde just so she could pass a little easier and like not be hated by her grandparents but after she and Carter ran away she didn’t have yo force herself into that anymore.
