I'm going to release a Halloween special of Rewritten Sparks for an MHA zine!

To set the mood, I thought I'd share some spooky facts that I added to Rewritten Sparks plot.

So I'm not going to deny it. Some of the plot is inspired by both MLB and Madoka Magica, specifically All for One being able to corrupt civilians a la Hawk Moth. But there some cultural influence that I implanted.

The yokai of Japanese legend are actually AfO's first attempt at creating nomu, but his victims had a lot more free will than normal nomu, so they were essentially to him.

Those nomu were never able to move on, causing their souls to fester and linger in certain areas of the world. In Japan's case, they become yokai. The longer they stay planted in an area, the more infected it becomes, turning into a labyrinth like plane.

I am so sorry for answering this so late but a Halloween special does sound so interesting!

Love to see the inspiration from miraculous and madoka magic!!! Nice touch, tbh (yes, I am saying this because I have watched and low-key enjoyed both series even if there are problems with MLB's writing)

There's something so ironic about having AFO basically act like gabriel agreste. Maybe it's because they're so similar in terms of both of them not letting go of their loved ones, aka emille and yoichi.

The creation of an "akuma" could just be a quirk, or it could be one of Dr Garaki's experiments where he merged two quirks together to create a similar effect. This can probably be done with him merging a mind control quirk and another quirk to produce this hypnosis effect.

These nomu's become stuck in their own emotions, unable to move on. Due to the extremity of their emotions AFO would have a hard time controlling them and getting them to do what he wants them to do so he would probably abandon them which may just make the nomu's more powerful depending on their feelings towards AFO. I say this because during AFO's rise, people truly believed in him and viewed him almost as a ruler that dictated their entire beings, meaning that some may have truly been loyal to their master but were betrayed.

I think delving deep and using Japanese folklore for some of the yokai you show would also be interesting or having some of the yokai be inspired by Japanese folklore.

While neither the mha main manga or vigilantes delve deeply into the idea of ghosts or yokai, we do know and see that there are supernatural beings. The vestiges of people's quirks can be recognised as such, and in the vigilantes manga, it is stated that Aizawa's homeroom teacher has a quirk that allows him to see spirits and that he acts as an exorcist so there's definitely huge potential to explore this a lot more.

The fact that the manga states that their homeroom teacher is like an exorcist has me thinking that something like a labyrinth caused by a yokai definitely happened.

Little observation, but your idea for the Halloween special vaugley reminds me of yokai watch

Mod Asphodel here! And my fave au rn is Cyberbites! (Look out for the Traditional esque Zine soon!)

1• Neito found out that he SemiPerma copies Quirks via Blood through accidentally drinking Himiko's Thermos. But he needs a fixed diet from people so he doesn't get overwhelmed

2• First time Izuku saw Shigaraki he actually had his costume on. Shigaraki sees this Spiked Leather bound kid crack his knuckles and grab a Red oak Bo Staff. Later along with the gun wounds he nurses a broken jaw and a new scar on his face from the nasty lil green punk.

3• Izuku has chains on his Hero outfit, They work extremely well as Capture Weapons.

4• Mr Compress and Twice are absolutely Terrified of Izuku after the Yakuza Arc

5• Dabi has a YouTube channel that actually pretty popular where he dances. Mina is a *Massive* Fan and Squealed when he showed up at dorms as the Midoriya Bodyguard

Borealll here, my fav au humm, i adore bav au but! my favorite to gnaw on is Black Nightshade au! so...

One, it is very clear that the second pair of arms Izuku posses is stapled into him, specially since the skin tone have a contrast between the arms and his own face.

Two, here, it is an unfortunate necessary step for the subject to die for the noumu process to take hold, and it is fortunate that the non-sentient don't remember such great pain.

Three, Bakugou still have gone overboard in the exercise of heroics, rumour has it there was even an expulsion involved.

Four, Incredible as that may sound, Afo has no idea of things brewing under Izuku mind and that things might connect them even more...

Five, Toshinori is a bit touch starved, and also gives the best fucking hugs, it does not compare, he is warm and soft of course they are the best, and of course few people right now know that.

Hi it’s Kiwi. Don’t have a favorite au really but the one I have the most brain worms about right now is the Pokémon au so let’s talk about that! (Also if you guess an OFA User’s Pokémon for their gym in the ask I’ll give 5 more headcanons)

1. Izuku and Bakugou’s starters are Larvesta and Buneary respectively. Larvesta was a gift from Izuku’s dad because Hisashi knows that Izuku will become an menace and get bored eventually if he gets a regular starter. Buneary was just found near Yagi’s lab trying to fight the man’s Pokemon and Bakugou pointed at it and says he wants that one as his starter and then caught it.

2. Aizawa is the Ghost Type Gym Leader. He does not advertise this and the only person who really knows this is Shinsou. Lovely surprise for the kids when he gets “kidnapped” by his Drifblim in the Ghost Type Gym.

3. Kaminari and Dabi had Rotom phones before said Rotom just turned into a regular on their team. Kaminari’s is called Nokia and both of them have the lovely habit of having 999 tabs open at all times and are dorks. Dabi’s is called Budget and blew up his phone when it decided they want to battle now and keeps on insulting Dabi and blowing up all phones he tries to get Budget in.

4. Hagakure, Ashido, and Aoyama are going on their Pokémon journey to complete Pokémon Contests across the region. They all give each other tips and try to be the best Contest Performer they can be.

5. The Elemental Plates to summon Arceus are with all the Gym Leaders of their respective type. They are all kept in separate places and more often than not the Gym Leaders don’t have it on them. This makes the fact that 7 gym leaders got kidnapped a lot more concerning.

anterior! umm as of right now my favorite au is either WitS(Wonder in the Stars) or TLVC(Tanuki Leaves and Violet Clouds) but ive already done one of these for WitS so TLVC it is!

-sako has this habit of spinning his cane around like one spins and umbrella, oboro thinks its really cool but sako barely realizes he's doing it

-oboro has two cats one orange cat named sushi and one black cat named coal, if coal and sako were to ever meet coal would try to lay on his cape no matter how many times sako tells her not to

-shouta and hizashi are sick and tired of hearing oboro go on and on about how cool he thinks tanuki is, but they let him because well its really really funny to see people who dont know about oboro's "obsession" with tanuki walk up to them and ask what they're talking about

-sako has shelves of glass jars that are just full of nomu's that he's marbled, the jars are like mason jars and thus aren't huge but hes got like multiple shevles of nomu jars, everyday he thinks about getting rid of them and every day he reminds himself that if he does they'll cause way more problems(he wants to get rid of them, so so badly)

-shouta has nightmares about oboro never being saved from that nomu lab

and this headcanon applies to sako in bout all our aus

-sako really likes oreos, he has like a pack of them in a marble to carry around so he can share with people he befriends

Hoi anon! I kinda had to put that AU in the back burner for a while cause my life got VERY busy for a hot while.

I do have more free time now that I've gotten done with my charms and the zine I was a part of so I might actually draw more for it soon! I still really love it so much 🥺

If I had a dollar for every time I liked a character who had less than five minutes of screen time, had a name that started with ‘Yo’ and ‘Ichi’, is already dead but still appears to the main character in dreams, I’d have two dollars but it’s still weird that it happened twice.

AFO appears to be having a bad time dealing with Yoichi/Yoriichi.

Kamino's Ward by tunafishprincess

Izuku Midoriya worked hard to become a symbol of hope for the Quirk users of his time, fighting against a government that saw his family as little more than criminals.

Now, he awakens to a time not his own, a dazed and confused 15-year-old boy in a world that no longer needs him.

EVENT ANNOUNCEMENT

One for All October will be an event in October dedicated to producing Yoichi-centric fics and art, hosted by McFaneLy and Katydid. This event will run between October 1st all the way through till Halloween!

Rules:

We will have an art and writing category. Anything focused on Yoichi qualifies. If an artwork, then he must be prominently featured. If a fic, then Yoichi must be one of the main characters.

You may submit as many entries as you’d like. However, you will only be eligible to win once in each category.

The minimum word count for a fic is 1,000 words. Drawings must be colored.

Fics should not have any explicit sexual content. For artwork, no extreme blood or gore and no nudity/pornography/NSFW. Mild gore is allowed.

To qualify, an entry must be posted by October 31, 2022, 11:59 AM EST.

Prizes:

First place in both art and writing will receive prizes from both of us: a half-body color artwork from McFaneLy and a fic of a minimum of 2,500 words from Katydid. We both will also be offering honorable mention prizes of sketches and snippets. One honorable mention will be given out randomly to ensure that everyone has a chance to win.

The number of prizes will depend on the number of entries we get. We will not do NSFW content and we reserve the right to ask for a different request.

me again abt the oc stuff! :)

so she sometimes does wonder about AFO, deep down, she’s curious to what makes him tick, and abt the Ujiko thing….she’ll be on the run for her life - she basically does have certain cybernetic parts in her, but I kinda noticed I did thought of her thinking ahead social interactions and plans which kinda reminded me of AFO’s like to predict……and more of a spacey vibe to her, idk I guess imagine some 14 yr old girl in casual/slightly spacey and mecha gear more of a support vigilante (high mortality) and if you could, what do you thing an interaction between her and AFO would go? And what do you think of her so far?

Hi!!! Sorry for late reply I'm trying to catch up on all my asks that I've neglected as the zine kept me busy in September and had some other stuff happened that made the asks pile up 😭 don't worry you're not cringe I promise and I understand why you use anon

I think she sounds interesting! I love how she's taking an interest in AFO as a person. We only ever see Toshi and Hawks either/and Best Jeanist and Endeavor speculate about AFO's character. (Can't remember if Endeavor and Best Jeanist were both there or not) They're never given any solid answers, but I enjoy seeing people in universe wonder about him. So I'm delighted to your OC does too.

I think if an encounter were to occur between them AFO would try to present himself as friendly and curious about her. He makes his questions seem innocent, but really he wants to get a good read on her to assess her character to see if she's worth dealing with or not. He'll try to get to know as much as he can about her so he can manipulate her if needed. She should remain on edge and never let her guard down. Don't let his smile and flattering words get to you. If she tries to ask him questions to get more a feel of who he is he'll try putting it back on her and retain control of the conversation no matter what. He won't let any get a glimpse of his own person.
