AFK Arena Chaos Part III

Every noble in Ranhorn dreads one guest, well two of them: Merlin and King Arthur. Having criticized Queen Karen's taste in the decorative arts one time too many, this dubious honor has fallen to the noble houses of Ranhorn.

Unfortunately, it's Count Alexander Vedan's turn to do the hosting. Thanks to the clergy, the Megamouth Sharks, and a few mortal cousins who like to tell tales, utterly insane rumors, far too wild to believe, fly all over Esperia.

"Fuck it, let them see it all " Honestly, Vedan wants to see some fireworks.

Even Ferael looks nervous. "You've got to be kidding me"

Vedan just smiles. Being a rising Lord of Shadow has its benefits. One of them is his contact with Dracula and his.... unusual descendants. (For the love of Dura, do not mention Bram Stoker or that pulp novel of his to this man!)

One of those perks is Dracula's snarky, thoroughly-21st-century balance keeper, doctorate of history, and smartass granddaughter Lisette. As starstruck as she is to meet the *real* King Arthur (not one of many nutbars that claim to be him), there's a perfect opportunity to gauge the man's reaction to the least reverent movie on the subject.

Down in the main basement of the manor, the "screening room" (digital projectors, half a dozen couches, snacks, booze, "the red stuff", etc) is prepared.

Of course, King Arthur is quite fascinated by this strange not quite Graveborn but not quite human princess with unnaturally red hair, odd golden eyes, and ... huge "tracts of land" and eagerly awaits her cinematic offering.

Unfortunately, Lisette is the only one who has previously watched Monty Python and the Holy Grail. Merlin is most certainly not prepared for ....this! Arthur does not take it well. Monty Python is considered a bit odd and an acquired taste in comedy.

Fortunately, Vedan Manor requires a weapons check. Lisette's marriage prospects take a bit of damage (Not that she cares. Girlfriend has her career, fostering cats, and scorching case of bisexuality to keep her warm) that proper society believes a lady of her "advanced" age (-le gasp!- 34) can ill afford. However, there are many phone cameras and a GoPro to record the results.

Arthur losing his damn mind goes viral throughout Esperia and a few other worlds. Lisette's father Alucard doesn't find the situation amusing and lets Vedan know he's an asshat.

"Well, *I* thought the movie was funny " Kelthur cracks

"It was absolutely worth it." Vedan may be a bit smaller, a bit greener, and distinctly froggy, but he was cracking ribs laughing well before Arthur got hold of Merlin's staff.

"I am dreadfully sorry about him. He's got his father's temper and Uther could be a right royal arsehole." Poor Merlin is mortified. "Least the movie was funny "

It should be noted that perhaps part of why the count isn't as upset as he should be is where he's hanging out. It should also be noted that it appears he may be a bit "straighter" than he lets on.

"I'm really sorry!" Lisette didn't intended to be an asshole. "I'll fix this, I swear." Due to no fault of her own, social skills tend to elude her and being aware of it only seems to magnify her ineptitude.

"At least this curse is enjoyable." The frog count is completely at home hanging out in the valley between her "sizeable holdings".

Later, when Arthur has cooled off, he admits to his own failings and accepts Lisette's heartfelt apology.
