If Veeps is sponsoring ads for Louis' AFH Global Streaming Event, then I very much expect that we will hear Benji Madden's thoughts on the event, the same way he did for Liam's streaming.
So far the Madden brothers and Veeps' other co-founder, Sherry Saeedi have been very supportive of Louis - with the LTLFL streaming in 2020, and more recently for AFH. (Mostly on Twitter, but Sherry also attended the festival.)
Additionally, Veeps' parent company, Live Nation, has also been promoting the event.
Both LN and Veeps want to come out as being "the" streaming platform out there, and Louis' track record and fanbase show he has the potential to be one of their most successful event in 2021. It also doesn't hurt that Veeps is taking 2$ of "service fees" on every ticket sale.
Now, if it doesn't go further that some sponsored ads and personal tweets, and into some actual musical publications and public recognition after the stream... you know why.

Hello Clem,
Top ten AFHF documentary moments, go.
Thank you for this question, Sea! I've watched the whole thing on Saturday, and finally got the time to watch it again today (on a TV screen!). I loved reading people's thoughts on the show and the documentary, but I did avoid other people's responses to your question so I wouldn't be influenced hehe!
I see your question is about the documentary but I'm gonna go with thoughts on the whole AFH streaming event.
Let's start with some ~visuals~
1. THIS!!!
Tumblr media
Louis Tomlinson being the most beautiful, adorable, cute, unreal human being. Louis being a ball of sunshine, happiness, serotonin. For me this gif it represents Louis and the whole festival <3.
for... other reasons... this is a close second and this one is third
The little things
2. Louis tearing up during OTB (ok it's unclear if that's just the light reflecting in his eyes, but...)
3. The note change in Copyx3. I loved hearing Copy live, I thought it was great.
4. Louis kicking down the wall! Just because... look at this idiot <3 Your Honor, I'm in love with him.
5. His :> smile
6. The 7 cover!!! I had never heard Louis sing this song and I LOVED it I am now obsessed. It's so good! The atmosphere live is incredible, the fact that he followed it with Fearless gave such a rock momentum. Also, when 7 starts, Louis walks from the B stage to the main stage; the contrast between his figure and the red lightning behind him...ART! Of course, I LOVED the Beautiful War cover as well.
The BIG things
I know you said "Top 10 moments" but the rest of what I loved encompasses several elements so it's getting quite long under the cut sorry not sorry you guys know me by now right
7. The editing
I think Charlie did an amazing job!!! From the beginning, with that iconic fan; the fact that the footage of the concert is almost half Louis and half the crowd, the focus on poc fans; what is shown about the 2020 Livestream (the target being put on, the stage technicians, Charlie); the focus on Change during the festival rehearsal; the aerial shots of the crowd (so impressive!); the torches during Two of Us; the flags during OTB... The audio is also incredible, how the songs sound so clear and as pointed out, how they mixed the sound down when fans sang History (*blows a kiss to the sound mixing person*)
8. What Louis said
I loved the documentary for what Louis revealed: his thoughts on the shows in Barcelona and Madrid, seeing his heartbreaking reaction to COVID, what he said about creativity during the lockdown, etc. He was being honest and vulnerable, as aways.
There were direct quotes from Louis that I cherish, for he's expressing things that we know to be true (and more complex), but in a diplomatic manner:
"You know coming from a situation like One Direction it was never gonna be a walk in the park becoming a solo artist. I’ve had shit to deal with."
"Too many times in my career have I had to pick myself up and go ‘right let’s go again’. But I the last two years I’ve just felt like I’m finally gaining some momentum, and right now in my head I feel the best I’ve ever felt"
But the good stuff as well:
“Every single time I get up on a stage, you guys make me feel fucking invincible!”
And of course:
“Just the togetherness. That’s what makes me feel like I can take on the world. Because with that lot behind me, who’s gonna fucking stop us?”
I also loved his emphasis on bringing live music back, him saying "as a fan of music myself", saying how important it was for him to have a free gig, and for the festival to be the first post-covid live experience for most people. I think it showed his love of music, his vision, his values.
9. What Louis didn't say but communicated anyways
Like I said yesterday, I think Louis' choice of including Matt Vines and the things his said about his manager are very telling - if you look beyond the words, and in the editorial choices, there's an underlying message. About how his teams is not working for sure, but also, very subtly, how he's the driving force behind the whole thing.
Same thing for his family: there is an emphasis on his grandparents and it shows such a good side of him, it's so sweet. The fact that the rest didn't make it - that's telling. Same for including footage of Charlie, Oli and Luke, I think it shows that they are a constant presence, a quiet support in Louis' life. He doesn't have to put them on the spot for us to understand that they are important for him. The same goes for having so much footage with Helene, it's obvious how much she means to him. He says that quite clearly of course, but showing her being with him every step of the way, including just before he walks on stage, goes to show how she is one of the most important person around him.
10. What Louis showed the most: his vulnerability
It's obvious Louis worked so hard creating the festival from the ground up, yet we didn't see much that (the planing, the logistics, the details, etc). He chose to keep the magic for us and focus on his enthusiasm to put on the gig and his hard vocal and mental work.
We know that Louis is proud to be honest and vulnerable in his lyrics - he "wears his heart on his sleeve". One of my favourite thing about the AFH documentary and the bts footage is that Louis took this further - it's him being 100% honest about his vision, his values, his feelings in his own words, in his own demeanor - from stress cleaning to talking on the phone like a teenager to kicking down the wall from adrenaline. He's showing himself without artifice. And one of the thing that comes across and which is so truly rare in this day and age is his vulnerability. You have Louis, who comes from the biggest boyband, who outsold his tour, who had the biggest livestream in 2020, who has an incredible fanbase, showing his doubts, his fear, his anxiety. Saying he needs to work harder, that he's frustrated with his rehearsal performance, saying he's not ready, that he would rather run away. Who does that? Not a lot of celebrities... It is so real and authentic. It's so refreshing. And it's him.
Just after the festival performance, I wrote about the confidence that Louis had on stage and said he had obviously been working on it; I had no idea that one week later we would get so much footage of Louis struggling with his confidence two days before the event. He chose to show this part of him. The fact that he feels so comfortable sharing this means so much - to us as fans, but also about him as a person.
And then you see him walk on stage, getting more relaxed, happy, smiling, saying "Crystal Palace, sing!" and then singing "Cause we made it"... I'm tearing up!!!
I am so proud of him, of his work ethics and vision, his talent, his perseverance, his optimism, his love for his fans. I was already proud before AFHF, but with this Louis really showed there is no one else like him and he deserves the world.

Concerning certain fans complaining about a free concert while others will pay for concert plus extras, I just wonder do they also complain when fans get free tickets from radio stations who hold contests or when people get comp. tickets from work and such. It’s the same thing. Plus people seem to be forgetting that those free tickets would have been available to fans from the other bands. It’s not going to be just fans of Louis who got free tickets
Honestly I'm really puzzled by "fans" being so pressed about all this.
As I said before (in my most popular tumblr post RIP), I think the idea behind the free tickets was probably that if the event had to be cancelled, the festival organizers wouldn't have to deal with reimbursing tickets. The festival will COST money to run, from the website, ticketing system, to the supporting acts to the stage crew to the equipment to the venue etc. etc.
The price of the livestream is 17$US with fees and taxes. That includes PROFESSIONAL, HQ footage of the festival + a PROFESSIONAL mini-doc. That means cameramen, sound technicians, video editors, sound editors, a WHOLE CREW that is PAID to create that content. Charlie went to Mexico, 2-3 people probably followed Louis around for a while to get footage of the fest organization...
These people are working. Who do you think is footing the bill? Louis! (or, his company - I think in this case it was said that it was 78 Productions).
Louis chose to have the festival free "so fans dont have to spend any more money to enjoy live music this summer". It was his choice to have the festival free; that doesn't mean he can run the WHOLE thing for free.
No one should be expected to work for free??? I know Louis is a young multimillionaire but that doesn't mean he has to pay everything out of his own pocket?
I know some fans are unable to pay for the tickets and that's very unfortunate. But there are initiatives to receive gifted tickets from other fans, to win tickets by participating in some Twitter contests, etc. + the whole thing will be shared one way or another after the event.
Projecting all this on Louis, who deserves renumeration for his work and for the ~ hundred people he employs is unfair.
Again, Louis is always held to a different standard than others. Liam's recent streaming concert was also 15$, and it wasn't a whole concert by Liam and it did not include a mini-doc and BTS footage. Were fans complaining then too?
Based on the London livestream numbers, I'm pretty sure that Louis will be able to recoup the costs with the sales of the tickets. And honestly, good for him!! get that coin my man! 💰

Not me crying in the middle of class because I’m broke and can’t afford the live stream.
I'm so sorry!
There are a few "fan projects" to gift tickets:
See this one from tumblr user cuethetommo here
Walls x LT Promo on Twitter is doing one - see here
Also when I was on Twitter under "Louis Tomlinson" (when it was trending) a lot of account where doing giveaways/contests for followers.
I hope you can find a way to get a ticket! :)
But worry not, I'm sure you'll be able to find a copy on Youtube or somewhere else after the event!

I want to know so bad how many tickets were sold. But at the same time I fear that it sold less than the previous one because many fans found a way to watch it without buying a ticket.
Good part is that almost everyone could watch it!
You and me, sis!! I'm halfway into googling how to request information from Veeps by any legal mean possible 🙃
I think the numbers would be close to the December livestream, if not more:
If we go by Louis' socials numbers, it seems like he gained fans this year - and it would have been the first "event" for most of these new fans.
A lot of tickets were gifted by generous Louies.
Also, this time it wasn't just a concert - there was the exclusive documentary, so it was clearly worth buying a ticket no matter what haters said about the price.
Finally, let's not forget that Veeps and Live Nation were advertising the event on their social media platforms.
I wrote literally 6 days ago:
Now, if it doesn’t go further that some sponsored ads and personal tweets, and into some actual musical publications and public recognition after the stream… you know why.
It's terrible to be right :/
It's also terrible that we are expecting to get the numbers through Veeps, when LTHQ is right there. Useless fuckers. I'm also wondering what's stopping Louis from telling us himself - a little bragging wouldn't hurt.

Honestly I’m half waiting for Louis to drop a bomb in the doc. Some big career news, a tell-all on the BTS stuff, a character assassination of some of the big TPTB players… Louis has form for chaotic behaviour. I’d love it.
His chaotic ass would be ready to do so... I'm thinking music announcement only - he wouldn't do the other things you mentioned because he knows he has to thread the water carefully. He's been thrown around long enough. He'll say things his way... like the quote from the teaser "Too many times in my career have I had to pick myself up and go “right let’s go again”". We know what that means.
I'm really really hoping for some good news, in the documentary or the BTS footage or in the days to come.
FAITH IN THE FUCKING FUTURE

Louis Tomlinson knows how to treat his fans.
Louis Tomlinson has announced a global virtual event, giving fans a behind-the-scenes look at his festival Away From Home, which takes place on Monday.
The film will feature a mini documentary as well as a 70 minute headliner concert and all the backstage footage fans love to see.
Fans will get to follow Louis and his team planning the festival and all the way through to the concert itself, as he’s been longing to return to the stage for 18 months.
[promotional video for the AFHF global streaming event + screenshot of Louis' tweet announcing the event]
Louis first announced the festival itself in July after having to postpone his world tour last year.
The event – on 30 August – is a free, one-day concert at Crystal Palace Bowl, where 8,500 fans will be granted access.
And fans can re-live the festival hype a few days later when the behind-the-scenes documentary drops days later on 4 September.
How to watch Louis Tomlinson's festival documentary
Louis' backstage festival documentary will be streamed on Veeps, for thousands of fans around the world to watch from the comfort of their homes.
Tickets for the the virtual show are on sale now at Veeps!

It's not a livestream, it's a video of a performance. Nothing live about it.
Wow, you must be fun at parties!
The festival concert is indeed recorded, not live, which is why the whole thing is called "AFH streaming event".
However... if you want to argue:
Veeps is a livestream platform, and one could say that "livestream" does not refer to the content itself, but to the way the content is shared. The event is livestreamed in the sense that it starts at a specific time, people are watching live together (you can't pause it) - as opposed to simply "streaming" like you would do on Netflix or if it was on video-on-demand.
In any case, it doesn't matter because IT'S TOMORROW!!! woooohooo!!!

Louis tweeted but everyone is busy watching hahahhahhaha
It was the most chaotic timing - watching the stream, looking at the dash, checking Twitter.
But it's cute that he couldn't wait to share his excitement!!! His thank you tweets were so 🥺🥺🥺

I hope he sold a lot of tickets. I´d feel bad if everyone was watching it online via twitch/twitter/download. At one point I checked a couple of Twitch streams and together it was like 70,000 people watching it via Twitch
wow, that's insane!!! but not surprising - when I watched the Festival on IG/Twitter lives, each stream had between 5 to 15K views...The Twitter trends from yesterday are an indication that there were an insane number of people watching.
I assume Louies wanted to break the LTLfL livestream numbers + I saw a lot of tickets being gifted, so I will not be surprised if the official numbers are mind blowing... especially with the paid advertisement from Veeps and Live Nation.
When and how are we going to get the numbers... that's the question.
