love story
"romeo, save me, they're trying to tell me how to feel" "this love is difficult, but it's real"
a/n: AHHH!! she has such a pretty smile. i put a gif of our girl smiling since you guys won’t be smiling after reading this. <33
pairings: francesca bridgerton x fem!reader
warnings/tags: angst & fear of period era homophobia.
summary: you have a question for francesca.
the grand ballroom of the bridgerton estate shimmered with candlelight and laughter. silk gowns and polished boots danced gracefully on the marble floor, while the sound of a string quartet provided a melodious backdrop. amidst the chaos, you navigated the sea of guests with a singular purpose.
you had heard the news from lady whistledown's latest missive. francesca bridgerton, your francesca, was to be wed to lord kilmartin. the announcement had come not from francesca's lips, but from the idle gossip of the ton. your heart ached with betrayal and sorrow.
at the edge of the room, you spotted her, her serene beauty glowing in the candlelight. gathering your courage, you approached, your breath catching as she neared.
"francesca," you called, your voice tinged with pain.
francesca turned, her eyes widening in surprise. "y/n, i did not expect to see you here."
your heart clenched at her casual tone. "it seems there is much you did not expect," you replied, your voice trembling. "do you truly think so little of me? do you believe that i was not worth informing?"
francesca's face softened with regret. "y/n, i—"
"not here," you interrupted, your voice trembling. you took francesca's hand and led her to a small, private drawing room adjacent to the ballroom. once the door closed behind the both of you, you turned to face francesca, your emotions raw.
"you have wounded me deeply, francesca. to hear of your marriage from a stranger's lips— did our time in bath mean so little to you?"
her eyes filled with tears. "y/n, our summer in bath was... a beautiful dream. but it was also a mistake."
your breath caught, your heart shattering at francesca's words. "a mistake? is that truly how you see it? tell me, francesca, do you love him more than you ever loved me? did i truly mean nothing to you?"
francesca looked away, her silence more painful than any confession.
you took a tentative step forward, your hand trembling as you reached out to touch francesca's cheek. "do not do this, francesca. do not consign yourself to a life devoid of true happiness. you do not love him."
francesca's eyes briefly closed at the touch, and a soft, fleeting smile graced her lips— an unguarded moment of vulnerability before she pulled away, her composure quickly restored.
"love is a luxury i cannot afford. you must leave, y/n. you must forget what happened between us," her voice tinged with a sorrow she could not completely mask. "lord kilmartin is a good match."
"but what of your heart?" you implored, stepping closer. "what of our love?"
"our love?" francesca's voice trembled as she forced herself to maintain her composure. "y/n, what we had... it was a mere summer fancy, a dalliance born out of idle hours and youthful folly. it was never meant to last."
"you cannot truly believe that." you whispered, reaching out to take francesca's hand. "i know you feel the same as i do. the love we shared was real, it was profound. i see it in your eyes, in every touch, every kiss. truly, you must feel it in your heart?"
francesca pulled her hand away, a pained expression crossing her features. "it matters not. marrying lord kilmartin is... easy. it is what is expected of me. my family's future depends upon advantageous matches."
"you deserve more than ease. you deserve happiness, true happiness." you pressed, tears brimming in your eyes. "do not do this, francesca. our life together might be difficult, but at least it would be real. do not let them tell you how to feel."
francesca turned away, her shoulders shaking with suppressed emotion. "you speak of happiness as if it were a commodity readily available. but in our world, happiness is often a rare and fleeting gift, not a promise."
your voice broke. "do you not love me, francesca? can you truly cast aside what we had as if it were nothing?"
francesca met your gaze, her eyes filled with unspoken emotion. for a moment, it seemed as though she might confess the truth, but she steadied herself, her voice turning cold. "i never loved you, y/n. it was all a foolish mistake."
your chest tightened, the harshness of francesca's words cutting deep. "if you can look me in the eye and tell me that, i will leave and never speak of it again."
francesca hesitated, her gaze wavering. she looked into your eyes, her own filled with a tumult of emotions. "it was a mistake. i feel nothing," she said, but the words rang hollow even to her own ears.
you knew the truth, but you nodded, accepting the finality of francesca's decision. "very well," you said softly. "before i go, i have something for you."
you reached into your reticule and produced a small, intricately wrapped package. "i had hoped to present this to you under more favorable circumstances."
francesca accepted the gift with trembling hands, unwrapping it to reveal a sheet of music held together with a delicate ribbon. "this… this is the first song you played for me."
you smiled sadly. "you always said it was too fast, that you disliked learning it. i rearranged it for you, to make it more to your liking."
francesca clutched the sheet of music to her chest, her tears falling freely. "y/n... i—"
you took a step back, your own tears spilling. "consider this my farewell gift. i hope it brings you some measure of happiness. i wish you and lord kilmartin a long and joyous life together, though i hope to never see nor hear from you again, for i cannot bear to watch you lie to yourself and choose duty over your own happiness."
with a final, sorrowful glance, you turned and left, your heart breaking with each step.
francesca stood motionless as you departed, the weight of her choice pressing heavily upon her. she unraveled the sheet of music you had gifted her to find a delicate locket, inside of which was a miniature painting of the two of you, your expressions filled with the love and joy you once shared.
driven by a need to connect with the past, francesca moved to the piano in the room and began to play the rearranged piece. the familiar notes filled the room, each chord evoking the memories of your summer together. francesca's fingers trembled, and she began to sob violently, the music blending with her grief.
she knew, deep within her heart, that she could never love lord kilmartin as she had loved you. the realization struck her with a heart-wrenching clarity— she had made a grievous mistake. the melody of your shared love echoed through the room, and francesca feared she had irrevocably lost the most profound love of her life.
despite the security and ease promised by her union with lord kilmartin, she knew her heart would forever remain with you, the summer in bath a haunting story of what might have been.

Sa Belle Evangeline
She sits against the midnight blue backdrop, her skin lit gently by the artificial moonlight. It’s as if she lights up the sky. She’s elegant, not that she could ever be anything else. Evangeline, what a beauty.
Ray saw her for the first time in a play. Up on stage, she was a star. The prettiest one. The way she danced and sang captivated the audience. Ray knew he was in love the moment she opened her mouth and sang the first note. He saw her career begin.
Now, decades later, he’s watching it end.
He’s been in love with her as much as light loves a firefly. Sa belle Evangeline.
Up on stage, she sings with her heart. The same heart that Ray had grown to know over the years.
He sits in the crowd, out of place in his decade-old clothes in a sea of dresses and tuxedos. He doesn’t care. Not with his Evangeline so far above on stage.
Oh, how he loves Evangeline. He knows her heart belongs to him just the same.
“Je t'adore,” she tells him every morning.
“Je t'aime Evangeline,” he whispers at night.
A queen of the night, she plays in this performance. She stays in place, so still, yet so bright. Ray finds his gaze always drifting back.
She gives him a smile.
His heart flutters. He could never have imagined that someone as beautiful as she could love someone like him. She’s an actress, he’s a hunter, and yet they could not love each other more.
Ray had grown up hearing “love always finds a way”, but he didn’t believe that it was true until he met sa belle Evangeline.
It was a dark evening after one of her shows. A frog hopping by had scared her and she stumbled into a wall, where another frog jumped onto her. She screamed and screamed and Ray came running to help. He took the frogs across the street and they ended up talking on a bench until her ride came.
They ran into one another in the same place months later after another show. Ray asked her to dinner. She asked him to be her boyfriend.
A decade later, in the same place again, Ray said “I love you, Evangeline” and proposed.
“Love is beautiful,” someone shouted at their wedding.
“Love is wonderful,” Ray told Evangeline.
The ceremony wasn’t big. Evangeline’s family and close friends came and Ray’s parents and cousins showed up. They couldn’t afford much at the time but they didn’t need to. Their love was everything.
Their families clapped as loud as the audience at one of Evangeline’s plays.
A standing ovation his queen of the night earned.
“Evangeline was great, don’t you agree?” One of the spectators asks Ray.
“Mais oui.”
Sa belle Evangeline lights up the sky one last time as she gives a wave to the crowd of fans. Roses are thrown, cheers and whoops and hollers echo through the building.
After the doors open, Ray awaits Evangeline. His mind has drifted off as she sneaks up.
She throws her arms around him and hugs him tightly.
“You did amazing,” he tells her.
“Je t’adore,” she confesses.
“I love you, Evangeline.”

GaaSaku 2023 FanFest Day17
Prompt: Marriage/Honeymoon/Anniversary
The years used to feel so much longer, the seasons used to drag on forever, and the blending of one day into another – especially for Gaara – had always been dreadfully long. But this last year had been different; he found himself caught up in a whirlwind of mounting memories that played back the happiest year of his life.
Truly, it had started when he’d finally worked up the backbone to ask her to marry him. Beyond nervous, even though he wouldn’t have asked if he hadn’t been sure of what her answer would be, he couldn’t shake the anxiety of her potential refusal. He’d faced countless foes, overcome many adversities, and could even stare death in the face like an old friend, but the few seconds of shocked silence that passed before she gave her answer had felt like an unbearable eternity.
When she had said yes, something switched on inside of him, something that had been powerful and intoxicating, and he continued to pursue it endlessly. Suddenly, the future seemed brighter, brimming with possibilities. It was a novel feeling to have been wanted, adored, and chosen by the woman he held most dear. Her interest in him, a quiet yet intense one, had been an unexpected surprise and he had quickly responded with advances of his own. She was a very desirable woman, and there were others that circled her vying for attention.
There wasn’t any uncertainty as to why he’d been taken with her; she was an infantilely capable individual with a sharp wit and scholarly levels of knowledge. She was exceedingly intelligent, in fact, and she’d wasted no time boasting her grades and test scores from her days in the academy. He’d thought it impressive and amusing that she had been so smart as to no understand that the first round of the exams they had taken together had been geared toward information gathering since the questions were considered too hard to answer. She had simply shrugged and said they should have made them harder; she was confident she got them all right.
Her mind alone had made her a fetching candidate for the partner of a Kage, but Gaara had fallen for her beauty as well. He loved the ease at which she would rest against him, how she welcomed his hand in her own, and how he could never grow tired of admiring her in any manner she blessed him with. To him, she was the most beautiful woman he’d ever seen, especially when he saw her on their wedding day.
Glowing in the sun, silhouetted against the backdrop of his desert, she had stood before him dressed in the robes of his people. She was draped in the finest fabrics, a pale cream with goldthread embroidery handsewn with care, the draping that covered her gently catching the breeze. She’d worn gold bangles and earrings, heirlooms of his family, shimmering in the sunlight and bewitching the eyes of those gathered at their intimate ceremony. He had always thought that she would wear the styles of the wind nation well, and indeed she had looked as though she were always meant to be one of his own.
When they had traveled for their honeymoon, having gone south and stayed near the ocean, it was the first time Gaara had known extended leisure of any sort. He’d been on the move his whole life, always looking to the next mission, the next assignment, and suddenly he’d had nothing but time on his hands and a lovely new wife to fill it with. For the first day of their stay, she hadn’t received any reluctance in convincing him to waste it away with her in bed, and they’d been entangled together in one way or another from dawn till dusk. Being the man that he was, though, they couldn’t afford to be away from the city for too long, and the remaining week of their honeymoon had been spent sightseeing and visiting the ocean, his wife taking complete advantage of him as her own personal transportation and she never heard a complaint from him. She loved basking in the sun and he loved watching her tan lines get deeper each night he undressed her; though his greatest pleasure was seeing her happy and knowing that it had in part come from him.
Too soon, the day came to return to their new lives back home, and when she took up her new job and he resumed his work, he reminisced on their time spent by the seaside when he missed her, and it got him through the long afternoons and late evening before he could return to the home they shared.
The following year was a flurry of political headaches; always eased by they way she would hold him and stroke her fingers through his hair, difficult battles; though he always had faith she could manage herself no matter how much he still worried, and the satisfaction that came with seeing how his people had welcomed her and came to adore her, knowing that she hadn’t just been the right choice for him, but for his city as well. Their marriage had brought unity between two great powers of the world, set the precedence for growth and prosperity, and she had inadvertently breathed new color and life into the land with the open sharing of knowledge, culture, and commerce.
The true extent of the change she had brought with her; to the city, to his life, to himself, was imperceivable. She had permeated every aspect of his existence and stained it with the color of her. His aspirations were nothing without her at his side, he fantasized of a lineage resembling her strength and her likeness, and the longer that he admired her perspective and her insight, the more reasons he had to fall for her all over again.
“My love,” he said, drawing her close to him and breathing in scent of her. It was a scent that filled his waking life and his dreams, it followed him everywhere, and he prayed that it never stopped. “What would you like this year?”
With his head nuzzled against her chest and body slouched over hers as she twirled a lock of his hair around her finger, Sakura hummed as her husband lay embracing her on their couch. “What do you mean?”
He leaned up a little, pulling down the collar of her tank top to rest his cheek against her skin. He secured his arms around her, perfectly fit to her waist and loving the weight of her. “Our anniversary is coming up.”
Sakura smiled and proceeded to scratch her nails along his scalp. He took a deep breath and groaned in delight. “You remembered,” she said, her voice quiet; she sounded happy.
“I’ve been counting the days,” he promised her. “Would you to like to travel?” he suggested. “Or we could take some time off and stay here.” She simply observed him with that gentle gaze as he seemed to ponder something. “Maybe I’ll assign you an assistant, that would help your free time all year.”
Sakura slid her arms around him. “My free time means nothing when you’re cooped up in that office.” Gaara didn’t say anything against that, though he squeezed her waist when she leaned in to kiss him. “You might as well get yourself a few more.”
“Tempting,” he muttered.
Sakura pressed her lips against his hair, enjoying the weight of him settled between her legs as they lounged on the couch. “I love you,” she said, knowing he adored it when she said it first.
“I love you, too,” he replied; instinctual and effortlessly evoked whenever he heard her speak those words. It had been ever since the first time she had confessed it to him, and would continue to be so, year and year, for the rest of his days.
Thanks for reading!

Emmet Asher Perrin says some things in this Good Omens essay that I want to say, but better than I'd be able to say them.
Quotes below the cut are for my own benefit. You should read the whole thing. The ending is what I mean when I say this was my generation's Kirk/Uhura kiss.
I remember the LJ fandom. I never knew it was small, or that it had any contact with Gaiman or Pratchett. I didn't know it was the majority of the fandom who thought Crowley and Aziraphale were deeply in love; I thought it was just that every fandom has its slashers, ever since Kirk/Spock. I was relieved that I wasn't the only one slashy-minded enough to read Good Omens and think "Oh, they're a lovely couple, I wonder if they've noticed yet"
Our wedding bouquets were flowers assembled from the pages of Good Omens, and an astronomer’s atlas.
***
What I didn’t anticipate were changes that rendered a certain relationship between one angel and one demon in a light far more attuned to the writings of my teenage self. The cues were all there, though no one said the word “love”—longing stares, swelling music, ages of pining, a break up at the end of the world. It was done with such clarity, my word, it was, but we don’t really live in a day and age that wants “crystal clear but soft around the edges.” We can’t afford it, can we? Everything must be stated out loud with vehemence, else someone can deny it. And they will, vocally, angrily, and with an eye toward removing a few more of those pesky human rights I mentioned from before.
Good Omens the series, being the first season, showed us that Crowley and Aziraphale loved each other—but it wasn’t enough.
And that sounds mad to me, as I’m saying it, because I’d never been allotted even a sliver of this previously in the things that I loved.
[...]
But none of that changes the fact that most of my formative texts, the ones that molded my brain into the current shape I use day in and out, generally didn’t make room for me. I had to make that room myself, with others who wanted that same room. And contrary to certain very narrow opinions, that place wasn’t pathetic or delusional.
It was glorious. It was endlessly strange and it was mine.
I don’t know what changed in the process of taking Good Omens from novel to television series, from one season to the next, but I have a sneaking suspicion of the factors involved: A fandom that exploded with ever more queer kids and odd ones who felt seen and loved in that same space; the constant legislation against queerness, transness, disability, and healthcare; a global pandemic that isolated us from one another. Those are the big ones, but there are smaller ones at play, too: actors who were more than happy to play those roles and those stories; the increasing homogenization of blockbuster media providing a backdrop to counteract; an ugly surge from groups who tried to insist that one of the book’s authors was against trans rights.
***
There’s something precious in seeing what other people might not see. It deserves confirmation, construction, the tenderness of depiction—at least some of the time.
At least once.
I’m not sure I believe it happened, even now. That I watched season two and Crowley managed to say in words that “our side” was far more than a work agreement or a friendly contract. That he kissed Aziraphale right on the mouth, and we all saw it. That it’s real and irrevocable. That a story about a botched Apocalypse is morphing into a tale about how we cannot place our sacred trust in institutions (even celestial ones), only in the people who love us. I’m not sure I believe that it’s happening. But I always knew it, you see.
And this feeling of watching it come to life when it wasn’t remotely plausible even ten years ago… I’m not sure I have words to describe it. I imagine it’s close to one of those eureka moments that scientists are supposed to have. When inspiration coalesces into something infinitely more divine and a couple pieces of the universe puzzle snap together to give us a fragment of what we’re missing.
Stories change in the telling.
But they’ve never changed like this, not for me. And if that’s possible when I was so certain it would never be, then maybe there’s a little more possibility to go around. Everywhere.
Every day…

Do you have any Medda hcs that DON’T pertain to the newsies?
[visibly vibrating in excitement to be asked this] yeah i got some thoughts about medda
medda had a pretty rough childhood. money was always tight, her father was always woefully stressed and working himself to the bone, her mother struggled to keep the household in order and picked up whatever work she could too to help. thus, medda had very little of their attention. her parents adored her, but she always longed for siblings to find fun and commiseration with, longed for her parents real attention and time more than anything. but she couldn’t have any of that, so she got used to doing things alone.
one of those things was wandering the streets of her neighbourhood and listening to the people playing music, singing, in the streets and on their porches. soon, she’d loiter outside of saloons where music was being played, and theatres - sneak in when she could, until she could finally start affording to buy her tickets when she was working. it was pure escapism, pure joy, listening to a stranger sing about something she’d never experienced but was experiencing for as long as the song lasted. she fell in love with cabarets and burlesque, fascinated by the intricate costumes and the theatrics. the first time she saw a vaudeville, she was set.
her parents died around her becoming an adult. she grieved them, grieved the life they’d never all be able to have together, but was able to move on. she made a routine of visiting their humble gravesite.
she worked plenty of jobs before she was able to start in theatre. doing laundry, tailoring and clothesmaking, cleaning. she even married, a man she didn’t feel much for beyond the way one may love a friend but still felt obligated to marry when he asked. marriage was a necessity, after all, and she was sure she’d find herself saddled with someone worse if she denied him.
he died a mere handful of years later. was taken by sickness, just slow enough for her to ache. she mourned him more than she was able to mourn her parents, but with his loss she was left his money - his parents’ money, really - and a turn of luck brought her the theatre. run-down and empty at the time, but she was determined to turn it into something beautiful, despite having nothing but the mortgage and herself. it was slow work, and hard work, but the pride she takes in it is so much more than worth it. she loves her shows, and her girls, and jack and his backdrops, and the band and the stagehands and the carpenters who build the stages and chairs, and everybody who walks through those doors.
she taught herself to cook out of her mother’s and grandmother’s handwritten cookbooks, since neither of them were able to teach her themselves. it’s close enough. she treasures food, loves making things that remind her of home.
purple is her favourite colour. her mother had one dress, which was a beautiful sort of deep lilac tone, and medda grew up fascinated by it, fantasising about wearing a dress like that someday when she was grown. pink is a close second favourite, but only bright, bold pinks. she loves gems and sequins, loves sewing even when it’s only to fix small tears in the girls’ costumes or add another line of faux pearls. it’s deeply therapeutic for her, and when the girls are performing and she isn’t, she can often be found in her dressing room doing work like that.
she keeps the window of her apartment open because she finds the quiet deafening. she loves the thrum of noise, of life. she’s always humming, dancing and swaying, music playing in her head. she can conduct the band and write music for them with only humming and singing and conveying her ideas like that, helping them translate it into new songs for the shows. she scrawls lyrics in beautiful, tall, curling cursive, often writes them so quickly to follow her train of thought that ink splatters around the words.
she wears her old wedding ring as one of her stage rings - no longer on her ring finger, but there amongst her flashy stage jewellery. she isn’t sure whether her late husband would approve of her ventures, he was always in pursuit of more modest pleasures, but she keeps her gaze ahead regardless. mourns her husband like a friend. knows the love she feels for her life now is realer than any love she’s ever felt before.

Break down of scenes from shameless US season 6 episode 12 'familia supra gallegorious omnia!' (The episode where fiona almost marries shawn a.k.a penis head)
-Frank pisses in Shawn's shoes: iconic
-Carl wants to start taking on more responsibility and wants to iron his shirt: we love that for him he's such a sweety
-fiona being out the loop with not knowing Carl had already started sleeping with Dom: now fiona has a lot of times like this throughout the later series of just not knowing what going on especially through this season and it really shows the gradual transition to her leaving the house
-Lip in jail: he be a silly boy but ultimately I conclude it was a huge self-sabotage because he was so fucked over with professor shitty runyon fucking him over on top of all the other shit stuff in his life like this boy has been traumatised by Karen leaving and now another person has left him in a really shit way :(
-Kev Veronica and svet: you can see fiona is almost disturbed to see this throuple for the first time, and I believe this is not because its a throuple I think she would have no issue at all if the hooked up with some chill nice person but it's cause its svet and fiona has already identified her as a dirt bag when she denied he access to her flat
Kaleb is a cunt: I get he was trying to encourage his boyfriend but ffs there's way better ways to do that not calling your boyfriend a baby, I would have broken up with him right there! Obviously this is brushed over by Ian but this also marks an interesting point in Ians story because so far he has beaten down by the restrictions of society and because he's had bipolar thus far so many societal doors have been slammed in his face- though it is great to show Ian got the job I feel like this is trying to say if you just try harder you too can overcome the societal limits placed on you cause of your poor mental health-which is obviously incorrect cause the system is fucked and for many it doesn't matter how hard you try
-shawn brings fiona some flowers: though it may seem sweet when you think about it this is one of the only very nice things we've seen him do for fiona like yeah we have seen him help her in emergencies etc. But throughout their relationships he's usually so standoffish, so I think he is getting these to try and ensure she thinks he is a nice guy-but he's not! He's stinky!
Second to last, the church!!: this is very subtle and also something that has annoyed so much every time I've watched this episode why in the fuck I they getting married in some school hall and not the main church, now one might say money but the how the hell did Mickeys fam afford that huge church for one baptism?? No I think mentally fiona wasn't taking this marriage seriously just like the last one, there was no need to rush but she did, it also works cinematically to set the events of the wedding with the backdrop of the tacky Hall that didn't have any decorations or the vibe of a wedding at all because it showed the family being fucked up and the marriage not working and the background reflected that fucked upness
Ians face seeing Kev kiss svet and vernocia: iconic
-fiona talks to shawn outside: she says she is cold which is an obvious plea for him to at least give her his jacket cause even though the knows he will leave she is calling out for some confirmation they aren't over and that he at least partly cares for her even if she isn't his priority, but no he ignores this because he is a sociopathic cunt
#shameless#shameless us#lip gallagher#fiona gallagher#i am high#no you are!#i hope some of this made sense#i feel i may have done this episode as a rant before so soz if i have

Creative Ways to Display Photos at Your Wedding
Displaying photos at your wedding is not only a fun way to honor the past while celebrating your future, but it's also an easy and affordable form of wedding décor. More often than not, you can display your favorite family photos all on your own thanks to a handy big-day DIY project.
There are so many ways to personalize a photo display for your wedding. Take the rustic route and pin pictures onto a string of twine. Throwing a vintage-inspired affair? Try framing multiple generations of black-and-white family wedding photos. Or opt for something totally off the beaten path: Wear these photos around your neck (inside of a precious locket) or top your cake with photo cut-outs. Wedding photos can work as favors, too. For a meaningful keepsake, create a one-of-a-kind charcoal drawing of each guest at this couple's wedding.
If you want to show off a photo series that tells the story of your relationship—and paints your guests a clearer picture of how you met, fell in love, and got engaged—consider adding a legacy element by also displaying photos from your parents' or grandparents' weddings. The further back you go, the more you and your guests will feel embedded into your family history. To inspire your own display, we've rounded up several options that are easy enough to copy or make your own. Whether you want to bring family photographs to the forefront of your celebration or showcase a selection of snapshots of you and your soon-to-be spouse, friends, or even pets, these ideas will make your wedding one to remember.
Ceremony Programs
We love how this couple commemorated the family marriages that came before theirs: They asked their stationer to print photos of each generation's newlyweds onto the back of their ceremony programs with a brief description of how they fell in love.
Wooden Photo Wall
This display proves your favorite song isn't just for the first dance: The couple incorporated the lyrics from the Beatle's "All You Need Is Love" on their photo backdrop.
Table Numbers
Get creative with your table numbers and replace standard numeric options with childhood photos of each of you at the associated age.
Lining Pin
Pin photos of your relatives into the lining of your tuxedo (or dress!) for a hidden homage to your loved ones.
Seating Chart
A seating chart is a unique way to present your meaningful pictures.
Chair Décor
Baby photos are a great way to mark your spot at the head table.
Hanging Bouquet Charms
Tie pictures of your relatives to your bouquet wrap as a way to celebrate your bond. This bride brought two photos of her grandparents down the aisle on her big day. You can also use an heirloom locket and pin to bouquet.
Hoop Display
If you had engagement portraits taken, you'll want to show off the results on the big day. Engagement photos of the bride and groom were secured with white ribbon and displayed in a hoop for this modern piece.
Sentimental Set Up
Think beyond a photo wall when brainstorming ways to display family photos. For meaningful décor, this bride had her grandmother's piano brought to her venue where it was draped with eucalyptus, greenery, and photos of the couple's grandparents and parents.
Boutonnière Photo
Boutonnières get a sweet upgrade when you add a photo of your loved ones to them, as evidenced by this groom's lapel accent.
Swizzle Sticks
Take notes from this crafty bride and embellish your signature drinks with sentimental swizzle sticks.
Guest Book Display
Want to give guests a glimpse at the weddings of your family's past? Make like this couple, who set up old family photos near their guest book station.
Family Tree
Wrap Polaroids around a nearby tree with twine for an unexpected twist on the phrase "family tree."
Bookshelf Photo Display
Prior to the big day, this couple asked their parents for old photos of the couples in each family. At the wedding, the pictures were framed and placed onto a bookshelf. "It was important for us to share where we came from and the love that's existed in our families for generations," said the bride. "It was also really touching to watch our guests, including our family members, look through them and enjoy the history and memories they brought."

The Perfect Wedding Ride: Choosing Your Dream Wedding Rental Car
Planning a wedding comes with countless decisions, from selecting the venue to finalizing the guest list. Among these is choosing the perfect wedding rental car, a vital aspect of your big day. The right wedding car enhances the entire wedding experience, offering a stylish, comfortable ride and creating memories you’ll cherish. Here’s everything you need to consider to pick the perfect wedding rental car for your special day.
1. Define Your Style
Start by identifying the type of wedding you envision. Are you planning a traditional celebration, a modern event, or perhaps a vintage-themed wedding? The car you choose should align with your style. Here are a few ideas:
Classic Cars: Timeless and elegant, vintage cars add a nostalgic touch. Rolls Royces, Bentleys, or classic Mercedes models are perfect for traditional and vintage-style weddings.
Luxury Cars: For a modern, chic wedding, consider luxury cars such as a Mercedes S-Class, BMW 7 Series, or an Audi A8. These vehicles offer premium comfort with sleek aesthetics.
Sports Cars: Want to make a dramatic entrance? High-end sports cars like a Ferrari or Lamborghini can add a unique flair to your wedding.
Limousines: For a grand and elegant statement, limousines are the ultimate choice. They offer ample space, which is ideal if you’re wearing a large gown or planning to ride with a small party.
2. Consider Comfort and Space
Think about who will be in the car. If you’re planning to bring along bridesmaids, a limousine or SUV might be more comfortable. For a romantic, private moment, a classic two-seater might be ideal for just the bride and groom. Make sure the car has enough room for your attire – particularly if the dress has a long train or intricate design that needs careful handling.
3. Personalize Your Ride
Many rental companies offer add-ons like floral arrangements, “Just Married” signs, or ribbons that match your wedding colors. Ask if your wedding car rental provider allows custom decorations or provides in-house options. Small touches like these can add charm and make the car feel like a special part of your day.
4. Check for Photography Opportunities
Your wedding car is more than just transportation; it’s a photo opportunity! Discuss with your photographer about capturing beautiful shots with the car before, during, or after the ceremony. A vintage car against the backdrop of a scenic location, or a luxury sedan outside a grand venue, creates timeless photos that you’ll treasure.
5. Timing and Logistics
Plan the car rental around your schedule. Most rental services offer different packages depending on the duration you need. Some may offer hourly rentals, while others might have full-day packages. Confirm the timing, route, and stops with the rental provider to ensure a seamless experience on your big day.
6. Budgeting for the Perfect Car
Wedding cars can range from affordable to extravagant, depending on the make, model, and rental duration. Set a budget and browse through options within that range. Keep in mind that vintage and luxury cars may have higher rental rates, especially if you book during peak wedding season. However, most rental companies offer packages to accommodate different budgets.
7. Safety and Reliability
Safety is essential. Choose a reputable car rental service with positive reviews and a record of excellent service. Check if they offer a professional chauffeur or if you’ll need to arrange your own driver. Reputable companies also ensure their vehicles are well-maintained, so you won’t have to worry about any breakdowns on your wedding day.
Conclusion
Your wedding car is more than a mode of transportation – it’s an experience. Take the time to pick a vehicle that complements your style, suits your needs, and adds a memorable touch to your wedding day. With the right choice, your wedding ride will be a highlight you’ll remember fondly as you step into this new chapter of your life.

How Do I Make My Hall Look Expensive?
When planning a wedding, the venue plays a significant role in setting the tone for the entire celebration. Whether you’re using a grand ballroom or a smaller hall, creating an elegant and luxurious atmosphere is a goal for many couples. However, the cost of high-end decor can sometimes seem daunting. The good news is that you don’t need an extravagant budget to make your hall look expensive and sophisticated. With a few strategic design choices, you can transform your space into a chic and stylish venue without breaking the bank.
Here are some tips on how to make your wedding hall look expensive, even on a budget:
1. Use Dramatic Lighting
Lighting is one of the most effective ways to elevate any space and give it a luxe feel. Proper lighting can instantly transform a plain hall into an elegant, high-end venue. The right lighting sets the mood, creates ambiance, and highlights your decor.
a) Fairy Lights and LED Strands
String lights, also known as fairy lights, are inexpensive yet beautiful decor elements. When hung from the ceiling or around columns and walls, they create a magical glow. You can also use LED strip lights to add a touch of sophistication.
b) Chandeliers and Uplighting
If you can, rent a few chandeliers to hang from the ceiling. These elegant fixtures can add drama and class. If chandeliers are out of your budget, consider uplighting the walls with soft LED lights to create depth and a warm atmosphere.
Tip: Place uplights behind large floral arrangements or centerpieces to make them stand out.
2. Focus on Floral Arrangements
Flowers are a classic decor element that instantly adds elegance to any space. While it can be tempting to go all out with florals, you can achieve a luxurious look without overspending.
a) Lush Greenery
Incorporating greenery into your wedding decor can make your hall feel lush and opulent. Greenery like eucalyptus, ivy, and ferns can be used to drape along tables, walls, and ceilings, providing a rich, organic look. Greenery is also generally more affordable than large floral arrangements.
b) Minimalist Floral Centerpieces
Rather than filling every corner with flowers, choose a few large, statement pieces for the center of each table. Go for blooms like roses, peonies, or orchids that look expensive but don’t require too many stems to create a sophisticated effect.
Tip: Consider using faux flowers for centerpieces to save money. High-quality artificial flowers can be just as stunning as fresh blooms, and they can be reused for other events.
3. Use Elegant Fabrics and Draping
Draping is one of the best ways to elevate the overall appearance of your wedding hall. When done correctly, fabric can give your venue a grand, luxurious feel.
a) Ceiling Draping
Drape fabric across the ceiling to create a beautiful canopy effect. This can make a simple hall feel like an extravagant ballroom. Opt for high-quality satin, silk, or chiffon to add sheen and texture to the space.
b) Table Linens
Invest in elegant tablecloths, runners, and napkins. Choose rich fabrics such as velvet, satin, or tulle to give your tables a high-end, refined look. You can also layer different types of cloth for added texture and depth.
c) Backdrops
Create an elegant backdrop for your ceremony or reception area using fabric draping, along with florals, twinkle lights, or even a personalized monogram. A stunning backdrop adds sophistication and draws attention to the key areas of your event.
Tip: Use sheer or translucent fabric to add a touch of ethereal elegance without making the space feel too heavy.
4. Opt for Gold or Metallic Accents
Metallic accents can immediately elevate the look of your wedding decor. Gold, silver, or rose gold elements are timeless and associated with luxury and elegance.
a) Tableware and Cutlery
Consider renting gold-rimmed chargers, plates, and cutlery. These small details give the impression of luxury without the need to buy expensive items. Gold candleholders, vases, or napkin rings can also add a touch of elegance to your tables.
b) Mirrors and Reflective Surfaces
Using mirrored surfaces—such as a mirror table runner, mirrored frames, or even a mirrored dance floor—creates a sophisticated, high-end feel. The reflective surfaces not only look luxurious but also help reflect light, adding depth and dimension to the space.
Tip: Gold frames for signage, place cards, and menus can instantly upgrade your decor.
5. Create a Focal Point
Every luxurious space has a clear focal point—something that draws the eye and sets the tone for the event. For weddings, a dramatic focal point can make your hall look stunning.
a) A Grand Entrance
Transform the entrance to your wedding hall with dramatic flowers, a floral arch, or a statement door. This sets the tone for guests as they arrive, making them feel as if they’re walking into a glamorous event.
b) Statement Stage or Arch
If you're having a stage for the wedding ceremony, make it a focal point with luxurious drapes, flowers, or an ornate arch. A grand stage with floral arrangements or a gold-framed backdrop can give your hall a regal atmosphere.
Tip: Create symmetry in your decor with two large floral arrangements or vases placed at the entrance or on either side of the stage.
6. Create an Inviting Atmosphere with Seating
Elegant and comfortable seating arrangements can make your hall feel more luxurious. Think about how to make your seating stand out.
a) Luxe Chairs
If your hall provides basic chairs, consider renting elegant, high-end seating options. Chiavari chairs, for example, have a sleek, luxurious design that adds a refined touch to your venue. For an extra flair, add decorative chair sashes or pillows.
b) Lounge Areas
If space allows, create a chic lounge area for guests to relax in. Velvet or leather seating with decorative pillows can create a cozy yet upscale space for guests to mingle.
7. Keep It Simple and Classy
Sometimes, less is more. The key to making your hall look expensive is choosing simple, elegant elements that combine to create a sophisticated ambiance. Avoid clutter and over-decorating, as this can detract from the luxurious feel you want to create.
a) Minimalism with Impact
Focus on key design features that will have the biggest impact, such as a few dramatic floral arrangements, elegant lighting, and luxurious fabrics. Keep the color palette simple—think classic combinations like white, gold, and navy or blush, gold, and ivory.
Tip: Use white space to your advantage. A clean, open space can give the impression of a more luxurious environment.
Final Thoughts
Creating a luxurious and expensive-looking wedding hall doesn’t require a hefty budget. By focusing on key design elements such as lighting, florals, fabrics, and metallic accents, you can transform your space into an elegant venue that will leave a lasting impression on your guests.

Best Outdoor Movie Screen Ideas for Events and Parties
Transforming an outdoor space into a cinematic experience can elevate any gathering, whether it's a birthday party, wedding, or community event. An outdoor movie setup brings a nostalgic charm and offers a unique experience that makes any event unforgettable. In this guide, we’ll explore the best outdoor movie screen ideas, showcasing setups that can work in a variety of spaces and budgets.
Why Choose an Outdoor Movie Screen for Your Event?
The appeal of an outdoor movie screen lies in the open-air atmosphere, where guests can relax, enjoy fresh air, and watch their favorite films under the stars. It’s perfect for families, friends, or communities wanting a social yet cozy environment that combines entertainment and relaxation. These setups are also versatile, allowing you to adjust for different themes, audiences, and viewing needs.
1. Portable Inflatable Screens for Flexibility
Inflatable screens are an ideal choice for anyone needing a versatile, easy-to-set-up option. These screens can come in various sizes, accommodating gatherings from small birthday parties to large community events. With inflatable movie screens, setup is simple: just inflate, anchor, and connect to a projector. Most inflatable screens are lightweight, easily transported, and come with air pumps for quick inflation.
Best Uses
Birthdays and family movie nights
Larger gatherings like community events and school functions
Weddings where a quick setup and tear-down are required
2. DIY Bedsheet or Fabric Screens for a Budget-Friendly Option
For those seeking a low-cost but effective option, hanging a white bedsheet or lightweight fabric can create a surprisingly good-quality movie screen. This is a great option for smaller, more intimate gatherings where you don’t need a professional-grade screen. Simply use a tension rod or hooks to stretch the fabric tightly, ensuring a flat viewing surface. The simplicity of this setup is matched by its affordability, making it a fantastic choice for last-minute or budget-conscious planners.
Best Uses
Small gatherings like backyard family movie nights
Birthday parties with close friends and family
Events where a quick setup is preferred, especially in smaller spaces
3. Frame Screens for a Professional Look
For events requiring a more polished look, frame screens offer a sleek and professional solution. These screens are supported by frames, typically made of metal or wood, and they provide a taut, wrinkle-free viewing experience. They are perfect for weddings, corporate events, or other formal gatherings where an upscale atmosphere is desired.
Best Uses
Weddings, where the screen will blend with the decor
Corporate events that require a high-quality presentation
Outdoor events where a stable, weather-resistant setup is essential
4. Projector Screens with Tripods for Portability
Projector screens with tripod stands are popular due to their portability and ease of setup. These screens come in different sizes, are lightweight, and can be adjusted to various heights. This makes them a versatile choice for many event types. Tripod screens are ideal for venues where the setup needs to be easily moved or adjusted throughout the event.
Best Uses
Corporate gatherings or team-building events
Community events that require a flexible setup
Events held in venues where quick assembly is a priority
5. Hanging Screens for Natural Backdrops
For a more organic look, hanging a screen against a natural backdrop like a treeline or garden can add an extra level of ambiance to your outdoor movie night. Screens can be hung from poles, trees, or a custom-built frame, creating a charming atmosphere that blends the movie setup with the surrounding landscape.
Best Uses
Outdoor weddings with nature-inspired decor
Community gatherings in parks or forest settings
Anniversary events or romantic movie nights under the stars
6. Car-Friendly Drive-In Movie Setup
Drive-in movie setups bring back the vintage charm of the classic drive-in experience, where guests can enjoy the movie from their cars. To recreate this setup, choose a larger screen option, like an inflatable screen or a stretched fabric screen against a barn wall or large fence. Place cars in rows facing the screen and use a portable FM transmitter so guests can tune into the movie's audio through their car radios.
Best Uses
Community events where guests prefer staying in their cars
Fundraising events that cater to larger crowds
Outdoor events during cooler weather when people may want to remain in their cars
7. Poolside Screen for Summer Fun
For summer gatherings, a poolside movie setup can create an unforgettable experience. Use an inflatable or waterproof screen and set it up at the edge of the pool so that guests can enjoy the movie while floating or lounging nearby. Add pool floats and ambient lighting for an enhanced experience.
Best Uses
Summer birthday parties
Family gatherings where kids can swim and watch at the same time
Any event where the goal is to enjoy a relaxing, water-friendly movie experience
8. Rooftop Screen for Urban Events
If you’re hosting an event in an urban area, a rooftop screening can be both stylish and fun. Set up a lightweight projector screen or inflatable screen on the rooftop and let the city lights add to the ambiance. Rooftop screens offer a scenic view, blending entertainment with a breathtaking urban backdrop.
Best Uses
Corporate gatherings or team-building events in city centers
City apartment complexes with rooftop access
Urban weddings or anniversary celebrations under the skyline
9. Projector Mapped Screen for Immersive Experiences
For a unique and highly immersive experience, use projector mapping to display your movie on unconventional surfaces, like building walls, rocks, or even water screens. Projector mapping offers a creative way to engage guests with a larger-than-life experience, making it an excellent choice for themed events or artistic gatherings.
Best Uses
Art festivals or community creative gatherings
Outdoor theater performances that use multimedia effects
Corporate parties looking for a high-tech, interactive experience
10. Screen in a Tent for Cozy, Private Gatherings
If you want a cozy and intimate setting, especially in cooler weather, set up a projector screen inside a tent or under a canopy. Decorate the tent with blankets, fairy lights, and comfortable seating. This setup creates a private, warm atmosphere perfect for small gatherings or romantic events.
Best Uses
Romantic anniversary celebrations

Choosing the Right Projector for Your Outdoor Movie Setup
Regardless of the screen type, a high-quality projector can make a big difference. Look for a projector with high brightness (at least 2,500 lumens for nighttime use) to ensure a clear image. A short-throw projector is ideal for smaller spaces, while long-throw projectors are better for larger screens and open spaces.
