Hatsune Miku Colorful Stage (Project Sekai). Hatsune Miku Colorful stage, often abbreviated PJSK, is a rhythm game released in 2020 that continues to be one of the most popular Vocaloid affiliated games on the market now!

2. Hatsune Miku Tycoon. Hatsune Miku Tycoon is a game released in 2021 that features the Cryptonloids playing cards.

3. Hatsune Miku Amiguru Train. Hatsune Miku Amiguru Train is a game released in 2020. It's similar to Subway Surfers in gameplay, and you can unlock outfits for the Vocaloid characters.

4. Hatsune Miku Dreamy Vocal. Hatsune Miku Dreamy Vocal is a discontinued rhythm game released in 2018 after being demoed during the HATSUNE MIKU EXPO 2016 CHINA TOUR. It was discontinued in 2020.

TOP NEWS & ARTICLES 

In the biggest SEO news perhaps ever, a massive list of Google ranking elements was leaked this week. Here’s an overview, including links to the two main leak announcements and their analysis. It would seem that Google wasn’t always honest when they told us some algorithm elements did or did not exist. Google took nearly 2 days to speak publicly about it, but didn’t say much. Expect a lot more analysis in the coming weeks. 

Instagram is updating its algorithm to favour original creators and smaller accounts, and remove reposted content from recommendations. “This won’t affect “a set of publishers” identified by Instagram with licensing agreements or resharing permissions from content creators, according to the blog post.”

Google is adding AI Overviews to US search immediately, with other countries to follow in the future. "AI Overviews gives answers to queries using generative AI technology powered by Google Gemini. It provides a few snippets of an answer based on its understanding of queries and the content it found on the topic across the web.” Right now, it is only affecting a small number of queries, however. While these will sometimes cover similar topics to featured snippets, the latter still exist. Early testing indicates that it does not currently show up when a search appears to be about buying something. Which is good, because you can’t turn it off, other than filtering your search to “Web” after doing it.  Oh, and Google did not waste time figuring out how to include advertising in the AI overviews - it took just one week. As with most much-heralded AI launches, AI Overviews are fumbling badly; here’s a summary of the many news articles mocking Google, including for recommending people glue cheese onto their pizza so it stays in place. 

Chrome has yet again announced that it will not end the use of tracking cookies on schedule; the new target date for starting to wind down their use is early 2025.

Reminder that your old Google Analytics files (aka Universal Analytics) will no longer be available after July 1, so download them now! “...consider archiving back to 2018 or so to ensure you have pre-pandemic data since the pandemic really presented data anomalies for many companies.” There is a spreadsheet add-on to make this easier. 

SEO: GOOGLE & OTHER SEARCH ENGINES 

Google’s March 2024 Core Update finished rolling out April 19. “A Google spokesperson said, “The updates led to larger quality improvements than we originally thought – you’ll now see 45% less low quality, unoriginal content in search results, versus the 40% improvement we expected across this work.” Experts are struggling to analyze it, in part due to how long it lasted. Not surprisingly, Reddit was a big winner, and sites with a lot of ads and affiliate links continue to lose. 

An update on how long your titles should be for Google. “So whether your titles get cut off or rewritten in SERPs, Google still uses the HTML title tag for ranking considerations, not the titles shown in SERPs.” The author’s research is too limited to draw reliable conclusions from, and most other research in this area over the last decade shows that shorter titles tend to rank better. However, she has pulled together many recent statements on title length and how it works, which is useful reading. 

A reminder that “keyword difficulty” is a subjective score that different tools may not agree on, and that also depends on your overall site/shop and its history. This applies to all sorts of keyword tools, including those used for marketplace sites. 

It looks like Google adding its AI to search results will have a strong impact on traffic, as it will answer questions without the need to click, and “only 47% of the top 10 traditional search results are sources for SGE.” [SGE is now called AI Overviews.] That means if a page is outside the top 10 now, it may still be used to generate the answers, and could even get clicks from being displayed in SGE. 

Still with AI, Google was fined €250 million by France for using news media to train its AI, Gemini. 

Google admits to deindexing many, many pages in February, due to quality issues. 

A recent article dissects why Google search is so bad these days, and largely blames one man. While you can read the original here, you may want to start with a decent summary and the reaction from Google and the SEO community.

Not Google

Both Microsoft and Google had excellent first quarters, with ad revenue up 12% and 13% respectively. “Bing reached over 140 million daily active users.”

OpenAI is apparently not starting their own search engine, contrary to rumours.

SOCIAL MEDIA - All Aspects, By Site

General

Here’s another of the periodic posts that tries to figure out the best times to post on different social media sites. It covers Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, Twitter and Pinterest.

Facebook (includes relevant general news from Meta)

In another recent AI fumble, Meta has introduced an AI assistant to its various products in several countries - but you can’t turn it off in the search bar. It may also show up in group chats, including discussions about parenting. “The Associated Press reported that an official Meta AI chatbot inserted itself into a conversation in a private Facebook group for Manhattan moms. It claimed it too had a child in school in New York City, but when confronted by the group members, it later apologized before its comments disappeared.”

Here’s more on Meta’s automated ad issue that is ramping up costs but decreasing sales for many, including small businesses. 

Meta is now offering its Verification for Business subscription package to more countries, and has added new tiers as well. 

While Meta had a strong 1st quarter financially, it projects weaker results through 2025 as it spends a ton on money trying to guide its AI offerings to profitability. 

Instagram

Instagram added some new features, including “Reveal”, which blurs Stories, and only releases the content once you DM the creator. 

Reels under 90 seconds perform better on Instagram than longer ones. 

To help avoid scammers on Instagram, learn how to identify and block fake accounts. 

Instagram’s Creator Marketplace - where businesses can search for influencers to promote their product - is now available in 10 more counties, including Germany, France and Indonesia. 

LinkedIn

You should be optimizing LinkedIn posts for the platform itself and outside search engines. The article includes tips for both personal and business pages.

LinkedIn is adding games you can play once a day, which sounds weird for a professional network. 

Pinterest

Pinterest’s summer trend report has arrived; apparently maximalism is in yet again.  

Reddit

Reddit is one of those sites that is getting worse lately as people try to get Google ranking through it (which is a whole other SEO story I have covered in these updates before).

ChatGPT will now be training on Reddit comments. The agreement meant a huge stock boost for Reddit. 

Reddit is trying to attract more French-speaking users by auto-translating the site in real-time using AI. 

After plenty of user complaints, Reddit is starting a new awards scheme. 

Snapchat

You can now edit your Snapchat messages within 5 minutes of sending, if you subscribe to Snapchat Plus. 

Threads

Meta wants more content on Threads, and is willing to pay well-known creators to create it. Invite only, of course.  

You can now filter out unwanted words on Threads. 

TikTok

While the US government has voted to ban TikTok if the company isn’t sold, there is a lot of time left before that could happen, and a legal battle to be fought. TikTok has already filed a lawsuit, as have some major creators. Meanwhile, small business owners and creators are understandably worried. From an article by the BBC: “According to March 2024 data from TikTok, more than seven million small US businesses use TikTok, and the company reported it drove $15bn (£12.04bn) in revenue for these enterprises in 2023.”

How to rank on TikTok: the Ultimate Guide. Some of the tips include hashtags, keywords, and choosing the right thumbnail. 

There are several ways to remove (or avoid) the TikTok watermark if you want to use your TikTok content on other platforms. 

Twitter

Twitter’s domain has finally switched over to X in some locations [but I will still call it Twitter].

Time to gear up your content marketing plans for June. 

ONLINE ADVERTISING (EXCEPT INDIVIDUAL SOCIAL MEDIA AND ECOMMERCE SITES) 

Search ads are converting less while costing more, something that has been going on for a few years now. “Advertisers are paying more for leads and clicks, while Alphabet, Google’s parent company, keeps reporting record profits.” This is one of the reasons the US Department of Justice argues that Google is a monopoly. 

Not enough AI in your ads? Google is solving that through video ads and more virtual try-ons. 

Google Shopping is going to start showing how many people have bought from each site recently, although businesses can opt out. 

Google is removing keywords from Google Ads accounts if they have received zero impressions in the past 13 months. While you can reactivate them, Google discourages that. 

You may be able to run Google’s Performance Max ads through particular marketplaces now or in the near future, if your marketplace signs up. For some businesses, selling through a marketplace might be cheaper than setting up a site. 

Social media advertising is now bigger than search ads, according to a recent report. Almost ⅔ of these ads are on various Meta properties.

Slow economic growth in the United States in the first quarter of 2024 sparked worries that the rest of 2024 will be as bad or even worse. Even McDonalds is stressing that consumers can only take so much inflation. 

US ecommerce sales were up in the first quarter, more than overall retail. 

Some consumers are finding that ecommerce is tiring, offering too many options and no easy way to shop quickly. “Despite an increased emphasis on personalized experiences in recent years, 7 in 10 customers feel either no improvement or an increase in the time and effort required to make a purchase decision.”

JEFF BUCKLEY loved British music; the nervous energy in British punk, the wired consciousness of the Clash, the way Siouxsie and the Banshees went from gun-metal moodiness to skies full of fireworks.

He adored the Cocteau Twins, of course, especially Liz Fraser's "impossible voice". He loved how the Smiths called to outsiders and nerds. He loved the textures of Johnny Marr's supple guitar and the mordant presence of Steve Jones's guitar in the Sex Pistols.

Jeff, whose own nervous energy was considerable, became even more wired whenever we went to the UK; he was stimulated by its variety. He also appreciated its compactness – the lack of eight-hour drives between cities was refreshing.

Sony had passed on Live at Sin-é in Europe. We were understandably disappointed, but there was a solution close at hand: Steve Abbott, known to everyone as Abbo, who ran the eccentric indie record label Big Cat and had picked up on many of the promising un-signed bands playing in New York: Pavement, Mercury Rev, Luscious Jackson. He had approached Jeff after Gods & Monsters and Sin-é shows and asked him if he'd like to record with Big Cat, but then Sony stepped in. Jeff felt that he owed Abbo a record, so when Columbia UK passed on Live at Sin-é and Michele Anthony instigated a funding deal with Big Cat, it seemed the perfect opportunity for them to become involved. Abbo jumped at the chance.

Big Cat's small team – Abbo, co-owner Linda Obadiah, Frank Neidlich in marketing, and Jacqui Rice in press – did such a good job that the week it was released in Europe, Live at Sin-é sold over four thousand copies, which was amazing for a complete unknown.

After a Sony conference, where it was clear that a lot of the affiliates were bemused by him, Jeff had a warm-up show at Whelan's in Dublin. By the time he came on, the crowd, several drinks into its evening, had become a little boisterous. Jeff said hello softly, as usual, but no one was really paying attention. Jeff just stood there, waiting. People started to quieten down and watch to see what he would do. There was a pint of his favourite beer, Guinness, sitting on the stool next to him. Jeff lifted the glass to his lips and downed it in one hit. Everyone on the room cheered, and he began the Irish show with the crowd completely on his side.

The audience was more blasé the next night at his London debut at The Borderline, a Western-themed venue under a dubious Mexican diner in Soho, right in the heart of London, a group of local reps for hip American indie labels like Sub Pop and Merge yacking away rather disrespectfully at the bar. In the age of grunge, a lone guy with a guitar softly singing Edith Piaf covers was baffling for some.

"It was an epiphany for me," says Sara Silver, Sony's European head of marketing. "There are some shows where it just feels like you're a voyeur, looking into someone's soul. This was one of those. He was charismatic, but also haunting, and I think because of my particular situation at the time, still suffering from the [loss of my husband], he resonated hugely. This haunting sound was a powerful force, and it was my job to work out how we took it to the world."

A gig the next night in Glasgow meant an early-morning flight back to Heathrow the following morning to catch a session with GLR, London's local BBC station, a slot designed to alert people to the next couple of gigs at the Garage in Islington and at Bunjies, a cute little basement folk club in Central London that dated back to the early 1960s and made Sin-é seem generously proportioned.

Abbo was accompanying Jeff on this run.

"We'd meet regularly at a bar called Tom & Jerry's in New York, hang out and drink Guinness together," Abbo says, "I suppose I became a friend of his, and he didn't seem to have many real friends. I'd only discovered I liked the blues since living in New York, so it was great hanging with him, because he was a huge blues and jazz fan and if there was a guitar around he had to pick it up and show off. He knew every Robert Johnson song, every Muddy Waters tune, Bessie Smith; he introduced me to the physicality of the blues, watching it at close quarters. Everybody talks about his voice, but he was a brilliant guitarist. The guitar was an extension of his body.

"Tim Buckley hadn't really entered my line of vision growing up listening to black music. Singer-songwriters with fluffy hairstyles were not currency on my council estate in Luton! We were in Tom & Jerry's and someone said to Jeff, 'I've been listening to your dad,' and I said, 'Who's your dad?' and he said, 'Tim Buckley.' I knew the name from record shopping; I'd seen the sleeves in the racks, but that's it. But when he came over to Britain there were loads of Tim Buckley fans. And it was a real problem early on, because he really didn't like talking about him."

The traffic from the airport to the GLR studios just off Baker Street was awful. A road accident had slowed everything to a standstill. Jeff's slot on the mid-morning show was fast approaching. "Of course, this was before mobile phones, so I had no way of communicating with the radio station that we were stuck in traffic," says Abbo. "For the last few days on this tour, everyone who'd interviewed Jeff had been asking about his dad. How did Tim write 'Song To The Siren'? Was there stuff in his lyrics that he might have related to? Things Jeff couldn't answer.

"We were listening to GLR while we waited in traffic and the presenter kept saying, 'We're supposed to have this artist, Tim Buckley's son, turning up, but he's late....Will he or won't he turn up?' This went on and on. She must have said 'Tim Buckley's son' about four times and didn't mention Jeff once. Suddenly, he just kicked my car radio in with his big DMs [Doc Martens], just smashed the fascia and then sat back sulking all the way there. I could get another radio, of course, but I was mostly worried he wasn't going to do the performance. 

"We finally arrived about forty minutes late and they were all so rude to us, and yet they knew what the problem was, as they were broadcasting traffic updates and warnings of delays themselves. If I were him, I'd have walked out. The female presenter was a typical local radio DJ, a bit gushy and knew nothing about him and his music. I had a word with the station manager to ask her to stop mentioning Tim Buckley, and he handed her a note to that effect. Jeff just sat there silently and she said, 'What are you going to play?' and Jeff said, 'A song.' I'm thinking, 'Oh god, here we go.' And he started to play "Grace." He did this long guitar introduction, went on for about a minute, like he needed to calm himself down before he got to the actual start of the song, and then he launched into the most electrifying performance. The best I ever heard him do it.

"There were about six phones in the control room, and they all started lighting up. 'Who is this? Who is this? It's amazing!' And all the time, Jeff's getting more and more into it. The presenter went from being this standoffish woman to...I swear she would have thrown herself on him given half a chance, the second he finished singing. You could see she was totally enthralled."

Presenter: "You looked quite exhausted at the end of the song."

Jeff: "I was getting a lot of anger out. Something happened on the way here..."

"The phones didn't stop throughout the next song. The station manager said that in all his twelve years at the station, he'd never seen a reaction like it."

Abbo thinks this performance sparked Jeff's breakthrough. There were certainly plenty of people in line outside the Garage in North London that night. Inside, the first stars were taking note. Chrissie Hynde and Jon McEnroe were in the audience. Chrissie had been a big fan and a friend of Tim's, had actually interviewed him while she was briefly a music journalist with the NME, and she was obviously curious to see how his offspring compared. They struck up a conversation after the show and she clearly said the right thing, because he went off with her to jam with the Pretenders in a nearby rehearsal room. I wasn't carrying anything heavy because of a recent lung collapse, and I didn't want Jeff to pull any important muscles, so I asked McEnroe if he wouldn't mind. He happily hauled Jeff's amp downstairs to the car. The Pretenders' jam with special guests Buckley and Mac went on all night.

Bunjies, as I've said, was tiny, a basement folk club and coffee bar on West Street in Soho, along from the Ivy, with gingham tablecloths and melted candles in wine bottles on the tables and a performance area tucked into a couple of arches in what must have been a wine cellar at one point. It looked unchanged since it had begun in the early 1960s, and had seen a couple of folk booms come and go. It was more of a cafe with an open-mic policy by this point, which felt like a good place for Jeff. There wasn't really any need for amplification, so when we arrived for a sound check there was very little to do but see where Jeff was going to stand in the cramped space and gauge how his voice reflected off the nicotine-stained ceilings. While Jeff did that, I went outside for some fresh air and was stunned to see a line of people already waiting to get into the show.

I took a look at the guest list and realised we'd be lucky to fit twenty of this assembling crowd in the tiny space. Every time I looked up, the line was getting further down West Street. I went back into the venue and found Jeff talking to Emma Banks, the agent. He was saying how great the venue was and that he'd like to do something like hand out flowers to everyone before he went on.

"Jesus, you won't believe what's happening out there," I said to them. "The line goes about four blocks. There's no way these people are going to get in. Is there any way we can do two sets?" Jeff was happy to. Emma spoke to the club owner and was told they had some regular club night happening later on. She came back and said, "They can't do it but I've had an idea!" She disappeared up the steps onto the street, and I spoke to Jeff.

"What flowers would you like?"

"White roses," he said.

"I'll get them," I said, and went back up to the street, where the line had grown even longer.

I walked around looking for a florist and bumped into Emma. "I've booked Andy's Forge," she said. "It's a little place just around the corner in Denmark Street. He can go on at 10:30."

I bought as many white roses as I could find. Jeff handed them to people waiting outside and those lucky enough to get into the club, as he squeezed himself into the corner that passed for a stage. He sang upward, listening to his voice reflect off the curved ceiling into this hot, crowded, and attentive space. There must have been a hundred people stuffed in there.

When the show was over, Jeff walked up the steps to the huddle of patient people that Emma had gathered, plus anyone from the first show who wanted to tag along, and led this crowd like the Pied Piper toward Andy's Forge. Abbo was alongside me. "Have you ever seen anything like this before?" I said.

"Never!" he said. And we laughed liked idiots at the wonderful absurdity of hanging out with Jeff.

Today’s recommendation is : The Worst Witch Colour Gift Edition by Jill Murphy

Whilst these are children's books, even now adults who loved this series as a child still read them, and that is why we have included them in this list.

The Worst Witch was one of Rachel’s favourite book series whilst growing up, so much so that when we recently cleared out her father’s possessions after he died, we found a whole box of Rachel’s childhood books that he had kept for her, and The Worst Witch books were amongst them and obviously very well read.

The Worst Witch tells the story of Mildred Hubble and her new best friend Maud trying their very best to get through their first term at Miss Cackle’s Academy for Witches. Mildred’s clumsiness at being a witch and the trouble it gets her into is the source of much hilarity in these books.

Jill Murphy finished writing The Worst Witch when she was just 18 years old, having started it when she was 15 and in a convent school, but it didn’t find a publisher until 6 years later as most publishers deemed the story about witches too scary for the children's market.

There are eight books in the series, the first, The Worst Witch, was published in 1974 with the latest book First Prize for the Worst Witch getting published in 2018.

Each book covers one term at the school. There are two terms each year: the Winter term, from September to January, and the Summer term, from March to July. In First Prize for the Worst Witch, the most recent book, Mildred is in the Summer term of her fourth year.

Jill Murphy illustrated all the books herself, with black and white drawings which are divine and invoke some very special memories for Rachel (and some of her friends too).

This particular edition is special as Jill has revisited these drawings and produced full colour versions for this anniversary edition of The Worst Witch.

Some readers may remember some of the live action films, tv series and the stage adaptation of the books. The television film, made by ITV in 1986 starred a cavalcade of well known actors such as Tim Curry, Diana Rigg and Fairuza Balk. It's worth seeking this out and having a watch. Tim Curry is especially creepy as the Grand Wizard

Several years ago, I accidentally joined a cult within a cult, a subset of Amway at the time called “World Wide Dream Builders.” They have since renamed their organization “World Wide Group” because they began getting negative affiliation with their name as people began exposing them online. (Just Google “World Wide Dream Builders” if you are interested.) But make no mistake, this is the same damn company cult, run by the same people, doing the same shit, and probably using the same or similar tactics.

After moving out of state in 2018 for a myriad of reasons, but a determining number of them being my need for a clean slate, I began to slowly unpack what the fuck I was just a part of and started a long healing journey (from that and much else). A significant component to my understanding of what was really going on and how cults and MLMs operate were the podcasts “Life After MLM,” “Sounds Like A Cult,” “Sounds Like An MLM But Okay,” and “The Dream.” And, of course, Leah Remini’s series “Scientology and the Aftermath” helped me realize just how deep-rooted cults are in American culture at large. If you’ve been in one cult, you’ve kinda been in all of them. (Additionally, r/antiMLM is an excellent source for all things anti-MLM, and this Facebook group is great for ex-members of WWDB/WWG specifically.)

It took me years to make peace with myself over how I could have gotten mixed up with such blatant bullshit and fuckery. I wasn’t in for very long, but those five months where I was dedicated and “all in” (as they say) were a roller coaster, and my mental and physical health was at an all-time low. I was extremely depressed and, at a point, even suicidal, largely due to the “brainwashing” (thought-stopping clichés, love-bombing, and bait-and-switching) and being fed the narrative that “all my problems would go away if I just practiced CORE” (the cult’s acronym for how each good little IBO {another bullshit acronym short for “independent business owner”} should be living day-to-day). I was extremely volatile at the time, and instead of being told that I just needed to “lean into my upline” (my culty superiors), by my upline, they should have urged me to seek professional counseling and help. They were not therapists, psychiatrists, or counselors to any degree, yet they loved to masquerade around as such. 

I could go on and on about all this, but the point of me sharing all this is that back in 2020, I submitted a formal complaint (against either Amway or WWDB, or both; it’s been a while, so I do not remember which) to the FTC. A couple of months ago, I was finally contacted by a senior investigator regarding my submitted complaint. But at the time, I was sick and bedridden with COVID, and I still haven’t responded to them. To be honest, I don’t know what to do or say. Amway is no stranger to class-action lawsuits, and I believe WWDB changed its name because of class-action lawsuits against them.

I still have some of my official paperwork/documents and notes that I took during our “meetings,” but I don’t know if these have any teeth, as so much has changed internally now. My question is if anyone has dealt with the FTC in regards to MLMs and what their experience was. I’m afraid of doing or saying the wrong thing- I don’t know what to say- where to even start. Or is this more so the FTC trying to add me to a class action lawsuit against one or both companies?

I’m hoping to find someone who has gone through this process and can share some words of advice. Or, if you have an Amway/WWDB/WWG/BWW/etc., feel free to reach out to me or reblog this with your experience! My DM’s are always open to those seeking catharsis in this strange and unusual experience and to validate you that yes, that was happening, and yes, that shit was whack!

Even if you do know “someone at the top,” it is at the expense of hundreds, if not thousands, of people beneath them, funneling money back up through WWG tool kit systems and dubious “recruitment bonuses.” I won’t read whatever hogwash you send; it will be promptly deleted, and I will block you.

they’re kind of a perpetual underdog in a lot of ways, at least in recent history. every non-fan likes to clown on them for being unable to make it out of the first round of playoffs the past SIX YEARS in a row…like they’re a shoo-in for the actual spot and then… just can’t win a series of games to make it out of the first round. but at this point, it feels like SUCH a mental barrier for them. they have all this star power on their team (savior of the franchise boy from the desert first round first overall 2016 draft pick auston matthews…. magician home grown toronto boy first round 4th overall 2015 pick mitch marner……. first round 8th overall 2014 pick WILLY ((need i say more after his recent performances)) …… veteran captain first round first overall 2009 pick returning to his hometown team and betraying what was supposed to be his career-long position on the islanders for a chance at a cup at home and to play with some promising players john tavares… actually so many members of this team coming to toronto bc it’s dear to them.. some taking huge pay cuts just to be in toronto.. play for a historic team like the leafs with all this talent and promise and belief and fanfare) and everyone thinks they should be able to do it and they just haven’t yet. but it feels inevitable that they will have some playoff success and i want to be on the side of rooting for them when they do bc they’re genuinely just……….. good. and they deserve it big time. like, hockey is such a team sport in so many ways, and your star players can’t just carry everything in order to succeed, so the leafs have dealt with some changes and some tweaking and some not-so-good goaltending but… luck will be on their side eventually (this year, i believe it) and they WILLLLLL get what they deserve and have worked hard for. it literally feels like one of those sports movies when the person or team has to overcome so much that they go on their little redemption and success arc…. like you could make a movie out of the leafs journey… they jsut gotta get the cup first to fully accomplish the storyline.

and like.. not only that and each player’s individual journey to the team.. and the player/player and player/coach dynamics.. but also just. sheldon keefe as the coach… kyle dubas as gm… two men who have a history of trust and working together and succeeding in hockey… elevating themselves to the highest league and having this shared vision for how to operate a team. and it literally WORKS. like the toronto marlies (aka the ahl affiliate team) won the calder cup with them as coach and gm in 2018…. proof that their methods work at the level right below the nhl… it does not get more tried and tested than THAT..… SUCCESS IS SO POSSIBLE and the leafs demonstrate it during regular season time and time again. and sheldon keefe as the coach… following the firing of the old-school-hard-ass mike babcock who was extra tough on his players and employed questionable methods of coaching (don’t get me started on him and mitch…) and wanted this element of like.. inter-team competition almost….. such a stark contrast to keefe’s methods of accountability and belief in each other…. it’s just. POETIC is what it is. the leafs are such a TEAM. like they have fun out there and they enjoy each other and they respect their coach and have great relationships with management… and they manage to do all that in one of the worst media markets in sports ive ever seen like truly lfkldjsfkld toronto media is such a circus about them, like all sports, but the leafs have such solidarity when they talk to the media like… they just seemingly don’t let things get to them and they protect each other and don’t take shit and i just love it.

Gen Abdourahmane Tchiani has declared himself the new leader of Niger after a dramatic coup.

Also known as Omar Tchiani, he staged a takeover which started on Wednesday when the presidential guards unit he led seized the country's leader.

Deposed President Mohamed Bazoum was Niger's first elected leader to succeed another since independence in 1960.

Mr Bazoum is currently thought to be in good health, and still held captive by his own guards.

He had been considered a key ally by Western nations in the fight against Islamist militants in the region.

France - the former colonial power - has said that it does not recognise any of the coup's leaders and will only recognise Mr Bazoum as head of state.

"We reiterate in the strongest terms the international community's clear demand for the immediate restoration of constitutional order and democratically elected civilian power," a statement from the French foreign ministry read.

The coup has also been roundly condemned by international bodies including the African Union, West African regional bloc (Ecowas), the EU and the UN.

However, the leader of Russia's Wagner mercenary group has reportedly praised the coup, describing it as a triumph.

"What happened in Niger is nothing other than the struggle of the people of Niger with their colonisers," Yevgeny Prigozhin was quoted as saying on a Wagner-affiliated Telegram channel.

The BBC has not been able to verify the authenticity of his reported comments.

The Wagner group is believed to have thousands of fighters in countries including the Central African Republic (CAR) and Mali, where it has lucrative business interests but also bolsters Russia's diplomatic and economic relations. Wagner fighters have been accused of widespread human rights abuses in several African countries.

Niger coup makes a troubled region yet more fragile

Are military takeovers on the rise in Africa?

Gen Tchiani, 62, has been in charge of the presidential guard since 2011 and was promoted to the rank of general in 2018 by former President Mahamadou Issoufou.

He had also been linked to a 2015 coup attempt against the ex-president, but appeared in court to deny it.

Speaking in a televised address, Gen Tchiani said his junta took over because of several problems in Niger, including insecurity, economic woes and corruption, among other matters.

He also addressed Niger's global allies, saying the junta would respect all of the country's international commitments, as well as human rights.

But the junta has had strong words for those who oppose them, accusing members of the ousted government who have taken refuge in foreign embassies of plotting against them.

They said any such attempt would lead to bloodshed, which has so far been avoided.

Life in the capital Niamey has largely returned to normal with markets and shops open, but civil servants have been told to go home.

Meanwhile Nigeriens have mixed feelings about the coup, with some saying insecurity in the country wasn't severe enough to justify a coup. But others have supported the junta.

Niger's coup is the latest in a wave of military takeovers that have hit the West African region in recent years, toppling governments in countries including Mali, Guinea and Burkina Faso.

It also comes as a big blow to the leadership of Ecowas. Just two weeks ago, the bloc's chairman, President Bola Tinubu, warned that terrorism and the emerging pattern of coups in West Africa had reached alarming levels and demanded urgent, concerted actions.

There are now concerns in the West about which countries the new leader will align with. Niger's neighbours, Burkina Faso and Mali, have both pivoted towards Russia since their own coups.

This is the fifth coup in Niger since it gained independence from France in 1960, on top of other unsuccessful takeover attempts.

Mikor lesz már végre egy normális évünk?

2022-ben kitört egy háború a szomszédunkban, volt egy országgyűlési választás, óriási az infláció és az energiaárak, gyenge a forint, meghalt Erzsébet királynő és Pelé, és még számtalan megrázó esemény.

Azért történtek a világban jó dolgok is, bár a lista az előzőnél valamivel rövidebb. Megvertük az angolokat 4-0-ra, megjelent a Sárkányok háza, voltak rendes fesztiválok és kijöttek forradalmian új AI eszközök.

Ezekhez az eseményekhez képest az én személyes dolgaim és a WPViking Kft. történései nem igazán érnek fel, de pár éve rendszeresen megosztom ezeket, így az idei év se marad ki.

Kivitelezési szolgáltatások – 31,7 millió Ft

Az ügynökség bevételei a tavalyihoz képest nőttek 28%-kal, viszont a képzéseinkből és jutalékokból származók 22%-kal csökkentek.

A tervünk nettó 80 millió Ft volt, de csökkentünk is tavalyhoz képest, így ezt én kicsit csalódásnak élem meg a rosszabb napjaimon.

A kedvezőbb napokon inkább (tévesen vagy jogosan, ki tudja?) megracionalizálom, hogy egy ilyen szar évben azért ez se rossz.

Az még hozzátartozik, hogy a Szabadúszó webdesigner képzésünk részletfizetései még nincsenek a 2022-es bevételekben, így ez azért kicsit megdobná az évet.

No de a bevételek nem jelentenek semmit a költségek nélkül…

A költségeinkkel egyébként elég tudatosnak érzem magunkat, sőt eléggé kockázatkerülők vagyunk, na de majd jövőre…

Eredmény – 2022

Íme az elmúlt évek összesített eredményei:

A matek szerint 61,4 – 43,6 = 17,8 millió Ft a WPViking Kft. 2022-es eredménye. Körülbelül.

Ez a tavalyi eredményünk kb. fele.

Fontos megjegyeznem, hogy a 3 vezető fizetése (Bence, Dani és én) szakmai minimálbéren van, és így is számoltam vele. Tehát az igazi “költségeink” ennél is magasabbak, viszont mivel osztalékot nem vettünk ki, így ezt nem számolom most. Bevételeink külföldi cégből, egyéni vállalkozásból, személyes befektetésekből is származnak, így az Opten nem lesz teljesen pontos.

A WPKurzus történései 2022-ben

Az idei évünk kívülről kevésbé volt érdekes, de belül fontos fejlődéseken mentünk keresztül.

Megváltozott a munkamódszerünk, a gondolkodásmódunk, és célunk is a vállalkozásunkkal.

A szolgáltatásaink és termékeink is eléggé átalakultak, de mi ezt sokkal intenzívebben éltük meg, mint a látogatóink.

Nézzük, mik határozták meg az évet…

Szabadúszó webdesigner képzés 3-4. évad

A szabadúszó webdesigner csomagunk hozta idén is a legtöbb bevételt, így elsőnek erről szeretnék beszélni.

A 2021-es start után idén is folytattuk 2 új évaddal és folyamatos fejlesztésekkel.

2022-ben több, mint 200-an vettek részt ezen a kurzuson, köszi ha te is csatlakoztál.

Ez az a képzésünk, ahol 3 hónap alatt elindítunk a weboldal készítői úton.

Elég magabiztosan állítom, hogy ha ez a téma érdekel, akkor a világon nemigen van ennél jobb lehetőség ténylegesen fejlődni.

2015 óta fejlesztjük a kurzusainkat, és Bencéék több, mint 500 WordPress weboldal projekten dolgoztak, így a tapasztalataink és odaadásunk eléggé benne van ebben a tréningben.

A tematikát folyamatosan alakítjük a visszajelzések alapján, így idén bekerült a Canva és Figma is a tananyagba.

A Figma egyértelműen hiányzott eddig, kicsit sajnálom is, hogy korábban nem találtam ki, hogyan lehetne behozni a képzésbe anélkül, hogy hosszú hónapokon keresztül kelljen tanulni a használatát.

Most viszont kialakítottunk egy új módszert, amit a jövőben természetesen még tovább fogunk csiszolgatni.

Szuperek a visszajelzések, imádom hallani a tanulók történeteit az új ügyfeleikről, a kedvencem pedig az élő találkozó a tréning végén.

Az 5. évad 2023. márciusában indul, szóval ha érdekel, akkor a remarketing miatt úgyis látni fogsz róla hirdetést.

Home office-ból iroda

A működésünk leglényegezebb változása, hogy közös irodában kezdtünk el dolgozni.

Bence Budapestre költözött, Dani és én pedig meguntuk az otthoni munkát, szóval nyár közepére sikeresen kialaítottuk az irodánkat.

Szerencsés helyzetben vagyunk, mivel a családunknak volt egy lakása Budapesten, ami ideális elosztású volt, hogy átalakítsuk irodává, így ezen tudtunk spórolni.

Új iroda

Én korábban soha nem dolgoztam irodában, mindig home office-oltam vagy a világ egyik pontján nyitottam fel a laptopomat.

A munkatársaink is távolról dolgoznak, és mivel az utóbbi években a COVID is fel-fel ütötte a fejét, ez eddig normálisnak tűnt.

Viszont a céljaink megváltoztak, rájöttünk, hogy nem igazán működik a vállalkozás hatékonyan a mostani rendszerben.

Nem voltak meg azok az rendszereink, hogy otthonról dolgozva is jól menjen a munka.

Itt nem eszközökre vagy szoftverekre kell gondolni, hanem számonkérésre, feladatmegosztásra, menedzsmentre. Egyszerűen nem voltunk elég jók benne. 

Ráadásul idén laktam először egyedül, mert korábban barátokkal vagy barátnővel éltem együtt, és bármennyire is szeretek a kis barlangomban dolgozni, kiderült, hogy sokkal több szociális érintkezésre vágyom – munka közben is.

Még most is tanuljuk a munkát, mivel ez eléggé új nekünk, de hónapról-hónapra jobban érezzük magunkat, és az már most kiderült, hogy 2022 legjobb döntése volt, hogy elkezdtünk közös irodában dolgozni.

A termékeink és szolgáltatásaink miatt elég sokszor kell a másikhoz fordolnunk egy gyors kérdésre, így sokkal olajozottabban megy az egész, ha csak odaszólunk neki.

Persze van, amikor így kicsit kivesszük a másikat a flowból, de bőven pluszos így a hatékonyság.

Szeretünk vicceskedni, együtt ebédelni, megmaradt a szabadságunk, de van a működésünknek egy egézsséges kerete.

Kevesebbet is dolgoztam este és hétvégéken, mivel hatékonyabban működtem napközben, ami szuper hatással volt a magánéletemre is.

Ez a változás számunkra kulcsfontosságú a jövőre nézve, de nem biztos, hogy másnál is ennyire jelentős lenne: én azt ajánlom, hogy gondolkodj el róla, ha hasonló helyzetben vagy.

Új arculat és weboldalak

A legtöbb esetben pár évente érdemes átgondolni egy vállalkozás arculatát és weboldalát.

Mi is így tettünk, és kicsit felfrissítettük az arculati elemeinket.

A narancssárgánkat megtartottuk, de az évek folyamán összegyűlt sok színt kivezettük és egy sötét lilás-kékes árnyalatot választottunk.

A címsorunk betűtípusa sokkal karakteresebb lett, illik a vikinges témához.

Ezzel együtt megváltoztak a weboldalaink is: a wpkurzus.hu, a belső felületünk és az új honlapunk is. Ha már az arculatunk megújult, akkor egyúttal újraépítettük szinte az összes aloldalunkat.

Ezt az egész váltást viszont nem az arculatunk ráncfelvarrása indította el, hanem a termékeink rendszerének teljes átalakítása, amivel szinte az alapoktól újjáépítettük az egész vállalkozást.

WPFegyvertár és termékek változása

2015-ben kezdtünk bele a WPKurzus építésébe, és azóta a termékeink eléggé hasonlóak voltak. Képzés ha:

Egy konkrét célcsoportra vagy igényre nyújtottunk egy tanfolyam csomagot különböző extra segítséggel.

Rengeteg tananyag készült, miközben végig az volt a célunk, hogy a lehető leggyorsabban érd el az adott célodat.

Egy csomó tananyagnak nem volt meg a helye, mivel csak kevés embernek fontos, de nekik viszont elképesztően hasznos.

Közben az is kiderült, hogy a magyar piac elég kicsi, ráadásul egy csomó versenytársunk is lett idő közben.

Emiatt át kellett gondolnom, hogy miként lehetne fenntarthatóbb vállalkozást építeni.

A nagy kampányaink jól mentek, de elképesztően kiszámíthatatlanok voltak a bevételeink.

Így jött fel megint újra az egyik “legforróbb” termék típus – az előfizetéses termék.

A “pályám” elején 2 olyan előfizetéses terméknek is a tagja voltam, ahol túlzás nélkül több 100 óra anyagot dolgoztam fel.

De a weboldal készítést nem éreztem kompatibilisnek membership rendszerhez, mivel többnyire azt szeretnéd, hogy elkészüljön a honlapod, és ennyi.

Viszont amikor bejött a Szabadúszó webdesigner képzés, egyre több olyan elemet találtunk, amik kiváló értéket képviselnek, és bőven megérheti miattuk egy tagsági rendszerhez csatlakozni.

Ez egy elég brutál csomag lett, aminek remélem a jövőben igen sok tagja lesz (a terveknél majd beszélek a célokról).

Egy előfizetéses terméket a mostani rendszerbe viszont igen kemény dió volt berakni.

Az árazása se lett hétköznapi, és harmóniába kellett hozni a jelenlegi tagok működésével is.

Ráadásul technikailag mindent újra kellett építeni.

Így alakult ki az új tanulói rendszerünk, amiben együtt szerepel a korábban is ismert kurzusaink megújított változata és a WPFegyvertár.

Őszintén, nem igazán ajánlom ezt a tech csomagot, ha nincs mély ismereted a témában, mert számunkra is kihívás volt összerakni.

Az átállás elvitte kb. az év harmadát, de erre már bátran tudunk építkezni a jövőben.

Eddig csak a korábbi tagjainknak volt elérhető a WPFegyvertár, és a következő pár hónapban egyelőre csak az csatlakozhat, aki megvásárolja valamelyik tanfolyam csomagunkat.

6 hónap ingyenes hozzáférést adunk, és utána 65% kedvezményt, így ez lesz a legkedvezőbb módja a tagságnak.

Így minden tananyagunknak meg lesz a helye, olyan tartalmakat is tudunk gyártani, amik csak pár tucat embernek fontosak, és egyre nagyobb olyan tudástárat tudunk felépíteni a weboldal készítés témakörben, ami minden honlap tulajdonos hasznára válhat.

És persze a több, mint 1 millió Ft-ba kerülő bővítménytárhoz is hozzáférsz az előfizetéseddel.

Szóval ez egy kicsit reklámszagú rész lett, de az évünknek legnagyobb részét ennek a létrehozása vitte el, így el szerettem volna magyarázni.

Elképesztően magas értéket szeretnénk adni, és olyan közösséget építeni, ami tényleg támogató.

És ugye ez a bizniszünknek is jót fog tenni, mivel rendszeres bevételt tudunk szerezni, amivel sokkal biztosabb alapokon fogunk állni, és így több terünk lesz a fejlesztésre.

Emiatt a változás miatt a 2022-es évünk inkább építkezővé vált, kevés marketinggel és így kisebb bevétellel is.

Rájöttem, hogy kb. 2 éve nem tudtam elég időt fordítnai a marketingünkre, mivel a termékfejlesztés vitte el az időt folyamatosan. Pedig a marketing a legfőbb erősségem, és azt is szeretem a legjobban csinálni.

Mégis úgy döntöttem, hogy türelmes leszek, felépítünk egy kifogástalan tréning csomagot, amire most már tényleg lehet építeni.

Végre, hétfő! podcast

2021-ben indult a podcastem, amivel szépen indítottuk az évet, de be kell vallanom, hogy a jelenlegi működésünkben számomra szenvedés volt.

Nem volt túl sok rendszeres munkám vele, részenként kb. 5 óra, de ezek teljesen kimerítettek.

15. adás Gyenes Donáttal

Imádtam, hogy új emberekkel és barátokkal beszélhetek ebben a formátumban, de egy jobb csapat kell ahhoz, hogy ez megfelelően tudjon működni.

Nem kizárt, hogy 2023-ban visszatér, de az biztos, hogy kevesebb résszel, és egy jobban felépített rendszerrel.

Egyéb történések a WPKurzusnál

Ilyenkor év végén mindig érdekes megnézni, hogy amúgy miket is vittünk véghez.

A befektetett energia vajon a megfelelő helyekre ment?

Ebben nem vagyok teljesen biztos, de hiszek a víziómban.

Történt még pár dolog, amit érdemesnek tartok megosztani.

A vállalkozás legnagyobb kihívása, hogy a tananyagokat folyamatosan frissíteni kell, amit mi becsülettel meg is teszünk.

Ezzel viszont nekem van a legtöbb munkám, ami idén elvitte kb. az időm felét.

Igaz, hogy a csomagjainkat egyszerűsítettük, de ez azt is jelentetette, hogy újra kell építeni a legfontosabb kurzusainkat.

Melós volt újraírni, újravenni, sőt a Webáruház kurzusunk még januárban fog frissülni.

Most már több, mint 60 óra tananyagunk van, aminek a 90%-a le van írva.

Több könyv kijönne belőle, ha formátumot váltanánk, de a téma legtöbbször ezt nem engedi (van ahol igen, de ez a jövő zenéje).

Ezeken kívül több, mint 30 webinárt tartottunk. Pár éve nem hittem volna, hogy én képes leszek élőben oktatni, de ez mára már teljesen természetes lesz.

Tehát tananyagkészítésben megint nagyot alakítottunk, a legfontosabb változás, hogy web design irányba jobban elmegyünk a jövőben a Figma bevezetésével.

Mivel egyikünk se UI designer, így viszont szükségünk volt, és szükségünk lesz a csapatba egy ilyen emberre.

Így kötném át a témát a csapatunkra.

Voltak változások a csapat összetételében, jelenleg így állunk:

Én felelek a legtöbb dologért, vagyok a menedzser, tartalmokészítő

Bence főleg a technikai dolgokért felel, és kb. az idejének 30%-át teszi ki a WPKurzus, a többit az ügynökség és egyéb projektjei

Dani főleg projektmenedzser az ügynökségben, és weboldalakat is épít. A WPKurzusban inkább tanácsokkal segít, viszont ő látja át legjobban a tananyagokat

Noémi már szinte mindent csinált a bizniszben, tananyagot készített, videókat vágott, fordított, marketingezett, ellenőrzött, designokat elemzett, szóval egy multitálentum. A jövőben főleg oktatásszervező feladatokat lát el.

Gábor év közben érkezett, korábbi WPKurzus tanuló volt. Főleg weboldalak készít az ügynökségi oldalon, de a jövőben egyre többet besegít a technikaibb tananyagok elkészítésében is.

Szandi marketing gyakornokként érkezett decemberben, és vele együtt fogjuk felvirágoztatni 2023-ban a WPKurzus marketingjét.

Viki a pénzügyi asszisztensünk, aki felel azért, hogy a számláink és pénzügyi folyamataink megfelelően működjenek.

Sajnos még eléggé el vagyunk szórva az országban, de Szandi már az irodában dolgozik Bencével, Danival és velem.

Egyre inkább szeretnénk a teljes állásban dolgozó munkatársak felé fordulni, mivel a KATA megszűnése csökkentette az alvállalkozókkal való munka előnyeit.

Vágyom egy igazi csapatra, és azon vagyunk, hogy egyre inkább azzá váljunk.

Ezekből állt tehát a WPKurzus 2022-es éve.

A látványos fejlődés elmaradt, de olyan alapokat sikerült lerakni, ami remélhetőleg megágyaz a sikereknek 2023-ra.

WPViking Agency

Egy külön bjeegyzést szentelnék az ügynökségi részlegünknek.

A szolgáltatói águnk áll a legerősebb alapokon. Egy mindenki által ismert modellben működik, a szakértelmünket adjuk el.

“Mi”-ként írok, de ez főleg Bence és Dani reszortja.

Mivel még mindig erős a szinergiánk, így kölcsönösen tudjuk felhúzni egymást.

Az ügynökségi munkák miatt a szakmai tudásunk folyamatosan frissül, ami bekerül a tananyagokba, a WPKurzus hírneve pedig egyre több weboldal készítési munkát hoz Bencééknek.

Konkrétan 0 a marketing költségük, ajánlásokból vagy korábbi ismeretségből érkezik az összes ügyfél.

A profit egyértelműen jobb, mint a WPKurzus esetében, viszont a skálázás még mindig jóval nehezebben megy, amit jövőre igyekszünk megoldani új emberek felvételével.

A legnagyobb feladat, hogy a munkafolyamatokat át kell alakítani, hogy könnyebben kiszervezhető, átadható legyen a munkatársaknak.

Most túl sok olyan feladat van, amik Dani és Bence kezében vannak, de folyamatosan dolgoznak az alakításokon.

Jövőre nagyobb növekedés a cél, még az is lehet, hogy ha sikerül pár embert felvenni, akkor még marketingezni is fognak

Mindenképp fontos volt, hogy működött az Agency, mert ez tette lehetővé, hogy a WPKurzus bevételmentes időszakában is menjen a vállalkozás.

RB Fitness

Az első vállalkozásom nem a tőlem megszokott volt, mivel 2013-ban, amikor 21 éves voltam, a családommal döntöttünk úgy, hogy csinálunk egy edzőtermet Hajdúszoboszlón.

Semmi tudásunk nem volt a témában, be lettünk hajítva a mélyvízbe, de Bencével így tanultuk meg a vállalkozások alapjait.

Mivel én szerettem volna a saját utamat járni, és elég jól leautmatizáltuk a folyamatokat, így pár év után én már csak mint egy tanácsadó működtem a teremben.

Bence viszont sokat foglalkozott vele, és mivel ez fizikai vállalkozás volt, kevés fejlődési lehetőséggel, így az elmúlt években már gondolkodtunk azon, hogy kiszállnánk belőle.

2022-ben meghoztuk az elhatározást, és egy szuper csapatot találtunk, aki megvette tőlünk az egész vállalkozást.

Így 9 évvel az indulás után exiteltünk.

Pillanatképek az RB Fitness életéből

Sokat tanultam a 9 év alatt, itt kellett elsőnek felvennem embert, pénzügyi tervet készíteni, folyamatleírásokat csinálni, emberekkel foglalkozni, szóval egyáltalán nem bánom, hogy az életem része volt, de ezután több időm jut arra, amit igazán szeretek.

Személyes történések 2022-ben

A vállalkozói élményeim után térjünk át a személyes életemre.

Nehéz éveken vagyok túl, de most úgy néz ki, hogy kezdenek helyreállni a dolgok.

Nem feltétlen az élmények és az általam nyilvánosan mutatott történések azok, amelyek meghatározzák a boldogságérzetemet, de azért megpróbálom pár sorban leírni a legfontosabbakat.

Utazások, élmények

A régebbi olvasóim még úgy ismerhettek meg, hogy digitális nomádkodok, bejárom az egész világot.

A Covid óta ez eléggé megváltozott, és azóta minden évben valami áthúzza a terveimet.

Az idei év elég csendes volt élmények és utazások szempontjából, de egyáltalán nem panaszkodom, mert ezt most így jónak érzem.

2 kisebb külföldi kiruccanásom volt.

Az egyik baráti társaságommal kimentünk Ciprusra, aminek a felét lázasan a szálláson töltöttem.

Az itteni quados napunk viszont az életem egyik legjobb élménye, volt szóval ezt mindenképp ajánlom másoknak is.

A másik kis utazásom célja Milánó volt, ahova a barátnőmmel mentünk ki pár napra.

Olaszországot még mindig félelmetesen jó adottságúnak érzem.

Az utazásokon kívül végre volt egy jó fesztivál szezon és több koncerten is voltam.

A mostani generációváltás a magyar zenében nekem eléggé bejön, és sokkal szívesebben hallgatok hazai muzsikákat, mint régebben.

Dzsúdló, Beton Hofi és Azariah koncerteken idén elég sokszor megfordultam, és a jövő évet is hasonlóan tervezem.

Idén sokat voltam szabadulószobában és sikerült több társasjátékot is kipróbálni. Amikor az agyamat kell járatni játékosan, az az igazán nekem való élmény.

Csapatépítés 2022 december

Az év végi csapatépítőnkön is elmentünk egy szabadulásra, amit mindenki imádott.

Sajnos az aktívabb, sportosabb élmények idén leredukálódtak…

Sport és fizikai egészség

A sport mindig az életem fontos része volt, 10 évig tollaslabdáztam, az elmúlt években pedig egy amatőr focicsapatban játszottam.

Heti 3-4 foci mindig volt, amikor épp nem volt valami kisebb sérülésem.

A tavaszi szezont nagy elánnal kezdtük, mert célunk volt a feljebb jutás.

Az egyik meccsen sajnos egy felugrás utáni rossz talajra érkezéskor elpattant a keresztszalagom.

Aki sportol az tudja, hogy ez a leghosszabb rehabbal járó sérülés. Én meg főleg tudom, mert a másik térdemben korábban már elszakadt a keresztszalag.

Így májusban jött az újabb műtét, és a legalább 9 hónapos rehab kezdete.

Természetesen ez fizikálisan eléggé meghatározta az évemet, újra kellett tanulni járni, lépcsőzni, futni.

Szerencsére dolgozok együtt gyógytornásszal, masszőrrel, személyi edzővel, de még így is elképesztő lassú és fájdalmas ez a folyamat.

Mindenki mondja, hogy jobb lenne, ha abbahagynám a focit, de tudom, hogy az a flow, amit ott érzek, azt eddig sehol máshol nem tapasztalom meg.

Így a cél, hogy 2023. márciusában visszatérjek, bár ez jelenleg elég valószínűtlen.

Ennek hatására sokkal jobban odafigyeltem az edzésre és a kajálásra is.

Még mindig a Food Revolution által jön az étkezéseim egy része, igaz ez már csak kb. az étkezéseim harmada.

A körülményekhez képest jó formában érzem magam, de sok mélypontom volt az út során.

Elképesztően várom már, hogy csoportos órákra tudjak menni, és hogy újra felvehessem a stoplisomat.

Mentális egészség

Ahogy olvastam az előző évértékelőmet, eléggé negatív voltam.

Nehéz volt számomra a 2021-es év magánéleti és biznisz szempontból is.

Ez 2022-ben rengeteget fejlődött.

Nagyban köszönhetem ezt annak, hogy elkezdtünk irodában dolgozni.

Megkaptam a keretet, amire szükségem volt és a szociális igényeimet is lefedi ez.

Izgatott vagyok a vállalkozásom miatt, rengeteg tervem van, amiket meg akarok valósítani 2023-ban és azt követően.

De nem csak a vállalkozásról szól az élet. 2022-t szinglikén kezdtem, így elindultam a párkeresés rögös útján.

Az év második felében már egy bimbózó párkapcsolatban éltem, ami eléggé megdobta a boldogságérzetemet.

Ami kicsit hiányzik az életemből, az a koncentráltabb személyes önfejlesztés. A vállalkozói tanulmányaim telítik az agyamat, így a saját kis fejlődésem ezekből a forrásokból, valamint a pszichológusommal való üléseken épül.

Régebben jóval több videót, könyvet olvastam önfejlesztéssel kapcsolatos témákban, és bízom benne, hogy vissza tudok erre térni, mert van pár terület, amire ráférne a fejlesztés.

Összességében jól érzem magam a fejemben, ami ugye a legfontosabb.

A bevételi céloktól messze elmaradtunk, de legalább nem álltunk földbe ebben a nehéz évben. Elég későn jöttem rá, hogy miként lehetne jobban működni, de év végére sikerült egy olyan pozícióba kerülnünk, amire már stabilan tudunk építkezni.

Jobban élveztem a munkát, izgatott vagyok, ha a vállalkozásomra gondolok.

Magánélet (8/10)

Az év első fele lassabban telt, a térdsérülésem pedig elvette tőlem a focit. Ezektől függetlenül nincs sok okom a panaszra, remekül alakulnak a dolgaim.

2023 évtervezés

Az évtervezést sokan túlértékelik, mert honnan lehetne előre tudni, hogy kitör egy háború, vagy hogy elszakad a keresztszalagod?

De számomra még mindig nagy ereje van annak, hogy tudom, milyen irányba tartok.

Azt viszont már észrevettem, hogy 3-6 hónap a max, amit rendesen látok előre, így fél év múlva ezt a tervezést meg fogom ismételni.

De neked, kedves olvasó megpróbálom a homályos terveimet is kibontani.

A biztonságos alapunk kész, jön az aratás időszaka, ami ebben a gazdasági helyzetben elég kérdéses, hogy mennyire fog működni.

Érdekes, hogy minden évértervezőmben valami új terméket vagy szolgáltatást akartam bevezetni a következő évre.

Most ez nincs így, és ez lehet a kulcs…

A csillogó új termékek, a külföldi piac meghódítása mindig hívogató, és sokszor el is csábított.

De az új termék elkészítése mindig elvitte az energiánkat a meglévők megfelelő eladásáról.

Marketing

Már 2022-ben rájöttem, hogy évek óta nem marketingezek rendesen.

Ha csak megnézzük a blogunkat, vagy a YouTube csatornámat, akkor látszik, hogy alig készült új tartalom.

Közben pedig az egyik legnagyobb szószólója vagyok a tartalommarketing erejének.

Tipikusan abba a hibába estem, hogy a szolgáltatás nyújtása (ami nálam a tananyag készítés) és a napi menedzsment feladatok mellett nem volt idő megfelelő marketingre.

Próbálkoztam én, volt segítségem a marketingben, de nem volt meg a tartalom készítő rendszerünk.

Ezért 2023-ra a terv, hogy egy brutális produkciós gépezetet építsünk.

A vertikális rövid videók, amik 2-3 éve meghódítják a világot.

A terv tehát az, hogy tudatosan felépítsünk egy tartalom gépezetet, ami ezeket képes előállítani.

Ezért jött Szandi a csapatba, hogy együttes erőnkkel rájöjjünk, hogyan lehet a leghatékonyabban csinálni.

Imádom a marketinget, és szuper érzés visszabontani, hogy mi működik, tesztelgetni, kreálni és értéket adni.

Emiatt kellett 2022-ben felépítenünk a biztos alapokat, hogy a marketingünkből tudjuk a megfelelő termékekre irányítni a leendő követőinket.

A drága kis podcastem elhalálozott az év elején.

Ez köszönhető annak, hogy nehéz számomra egy epizód felvétele és annak is, hogy melós egy nagyobb követőtábort felépíteni.

Véges az erőforrásunk és sokadrangú lett egy podcast epizód elkészítése.

Simán lehet, hogy még visszahozzuk, ha a marketing masina többi része flottul megy, de ez az év első felében nincs tervben.

Csapatbővítés

Ahhoz, hogy gyorsabban haladjunk, egyértelműen a csapat bővítésére lesz szükség.

A 2 legnagyobb problémánk az volt, hogy:

1) Nem igazán állt össze, hogy mik azok a termékeink, amikre építhetünk. 

Ez lett most a Szabadúszó webdesigner képzés és a WPFegyvertár.

2) Nem volt meg, hogy egy új munkatárs miként tud segíteni.

A WPKurzusnál előre készítjük el a terméket, és vásárlás után már nincs sok feladat a szolgáltatás nyújtásával. Ez tök jó, de furcsa helyzet olyan szempontból, hogy akkor miket is kell csinálni.

A kulcs az volt, hogy megértettem, hogy szét kell választani a terméket és a marketinget.

Az oktatásszervező azért felel, hogy a termékek (tananyagok) megfelelő minőségűek legyenek, és az élő csoportok (Szabadúszó webdesigner képzés) flottul haladjanak.

A marketinges pedig a marketingért felel, és kvázi nincs köze a tananyagokhoz.

Bagatel, de ez eddig nem volt így. Mindenki össze-vissza csinált mindent, amire épp szükség volt.

Ahhoz viszont, hogy tovább fejlődjünk, ez nem mehetett így tovább.

És a jövőben is ezt a gondolkodást fogjuk folytatni.

2023-ban viszont tényleg el szeretnénk érni a 80 millió Ft-os bevételt.

(Azt se bánjuk, ha ez felugrik 100 millióra.)

Úgy érzem, hogy a mostani alapokkal és a marketingünk felvirágoztatásával ez menni fog.

Utazás – 2023

Egyre kevesebbet merek kívánni, de 2023-ban már tényleg szeretnék pár izgalmas helyre eljutni.

Ehhez viszont kicsit ügyesebben kell szervezni a bizniszt.

Egészség és sport – 2023

A mentális egészségem ápolása szempontjából továbbra is járni fogok pszichológushoz, és tervezek pár könyvet is elolvasni.

A fizikai egészségem már egy kicsit komplexebb téma.

A nagy célom, hogy újra focizhassak, ami két ilyen ropogós, foltozott térddel nem egyszerű.

2022. május 18-án műtöttek, így március-április környékén már jó lenne, ha kergethetném a labdát.

Az étkezésem viszonylag rendben van, köszönhetően a Food Revolution-nek, de az irodázás miatt sokszor becsúsznak egészségtelenebb ételek is.

Nem akarom teljesen kitiltani ezeket, de az édességet viszont muszáj lesz.

UK TVs Diamond To Feature Jewish-Muslim Questions For First Time

The UK TV diversity monitoring project is to introduce questions around Jewish and Muslim identity for the first time, as Diamond‘s seventh report reveals minor diversity gains. One of new Creative Diversity Network (CDN) CEO Miranda Wayland’s first moves in charge has been to announce an expansion of Diamond’s scope in a bid to create wider data sets and respond to global shifts. The move comes following a year in which the TV industry has battled with the ructions caused by October 7 and the ensuing Israel-Hamas conflict. A Film & TV Charity survey in February found that 94% of Muslim, Jewish and Arab people working in the film and TV sector had experienced a deterioration in their mental health since October 7. “CDN’s role is to provide our partners with the most comprehensive set of diversity data and work with them to tackle barriers to inclusion and representation,” said ex-BBC and Amazon diversity exec Wayland, who started on September 1. “I’m pleased to be able to announce that going forward, we will expand the data Diamond collects by adding new questions on ethnicity, religious affiliation and socio-economic background.” The next data set will also “highlight evidence showing whether freelancers and others from lower socio-economic backgrounds, with disabilities or from ethnic minority groups are disproportionately impacted by the current economic downturn in the industry,” added Wayland, coming off the back of James Graham’s MacTaggart, which focused on poor working class representation. Elaborating on the changes, the Seventh Cut report said the broader questions will make the Eighth Cut “more nuanced and inclusive,” while adding a question on religion will allow for more data on an “additional protected characteristic, as we know that some religious groups experience a disadvantage.” Minor gains The Seventh Cut report showed minor diversity gains amid a tricky, contracted landscape, coming as senior figures raise concerns that the sector’s diversity push will be hit by the slowdown and destruction of the mid-range programing market. Disability has been a major focus for broadcasters and producers over the past couple of years and one of the highest gains was in off-screen contributions from disabled people, which rose from 6.5% to 8% – although this is still miles behind national average. The figure is creeping closer to the doubling disability target set in 2018 to hit 9% off-screen representation that is now several years behind schedule. This year’s report broke down disability type for the first time, showing that learning and cognitive disabilities was the most common impairment type, accounting for nearly one third (31.1%) of total off-screen disability, while the least represented was blind or visually impaired at just 1.9% of contributions. For the year to July 31 2023, Off-screen disability representation nearly caught up with on-screen, which rose only slightly from 8.2% to 8.7% of the circa-62,000 diversity contributions. In terms of representation of people from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic backgrounds, off-screen and on-screen both increased a smidgeon to 13.4% and 23.5% respectively – the former behind national average and the latter remaining well ahead. Strong on-screen representation was largely reflected in a “rise in the proportion of contributions made by those from Black, African, Caribbean and Black British backgrounds,” according to Diamond. Following the recent riots sparked by the Southport stabbings, South Asian representation in TV was spotlighted, as multiple South Asian execs spoke to us about a lack of support from the sector. The Diamond data showed little improvement in representation, with South Asians off-screen nudging up a tad to 2.6% and on-screen holding steady at 4.9% – figures that have barely improved since before the pandemic.
