Jack opens up an Insta account and within a year garners just over a million followers.
The thing is, his follower base is delineated into two camps:
One camp is those who follow Jack the hockey star and husband to Eric Bittle. They end up get baffled that his account is a gallery with artsy shots of historic structures, old military sites, and some hockey.
The other camp is a growing number of art affectionados who follow Jack the photographer and amateur historian. They love the composition of his work. They also conclude that this guy really likes hockey.

Salutations Geek Affectionados-
It appears to be the 5th anniversary of
𝕃𝕠𝕘𝕒𝕟’𝕤 𝕊𝕚𝕕𝕖 𝕋𝕣𝕒𝕔𝕜𝕤 ℙ𝕝𝕒𝕪𝕝𝕚𝕤𝕥!
This super smart song selection tells Logan’s story and I have put together the ULTIMATE BREAKDOWN FOR YOU!
Tumblr media
The thing to understand about Logan’s playlist is that it’s actually a bit more complex with its structure. While it’s still telling you a story with chapters, rises and falls, Logan is going to show you 2 sides of himself. The part that he lets you see, and the part that he keeps hidden away.  There is way more to Logan than just a logical intellectual nerd who takes everything too literally. There’s also this side of him that he doesn’t show because, god forbid, we take who he is less than serious for even a millisecond. No, he would hate that. So he’s telling you cryptically. In songs. Because we know the guy loves puzzles and wants to give you one of his own, for you to figure him out.
Tumblr media
Listen to the playlist while you read!

Im back drawing Eighteen's Tardis and. So my father practically dropped out of highschool due to Religius Coercion; If he couldn't study amything without meeting school guidelines and he didn't want to study half to corriculum- he much rather preferred spending most of his teen years doing farmwork. But he did always show up to Shop Class. The menorah 🕎 we've been using my whole life is his tenth grade welding project. A lot of 18s more Technical mechanical affectionado side comes from not just my liking for the third doctor and generally that kind of vibe for the doctor but as a love letter to my family, generations of handyfolks tradition, but especially this story about my dad.

Award-winning culinary travel author Carole Bumpus releases new book
While the red poppy of Spring and Summer brings to mind Veterans Day, for culinary travel writer Carole Bumpus, the red poppy is one of many things that makes Provence, France more than memorable.
This November 12, Bumpus released ADVENTURES ON LAND AND SEA: Searching for Culinary Pleasures in Provence and the Cote d'Azur,
Praised by Booklist as … “a charming introduction to the South of France and an excellent reading companion to Peter Mayle's now-classics like ‘A Year in Provence’ and ‘Toujours Provence,’” Bumpus is honored and delighted by the praise.
She remarked. “I was pulled in by the delight I saw in Peter Mayne’s magical book, ‘A Year in Provence,’ as my husband Winston and I decided to go to France for the first time in the 1990s. We discovered the charm of the people and the beauty of place, high in the hills above Cannes.”
This new release is Book Four of her award-winning culinary-travel series, ‘Savoring the Olde Ways…’
Travel-literature affectionados will affirm that all of the books in her series are enjoyable as stand-alone guides in and of themselves.
In this book in particular, Bumpus is on a quest to find the real Provençe.
In recalling further that first time visit, she noted. “And, then we were hooked with the history, whether along the shores or in the mountains, as well as our love of trying the wines, olive oils, and the delectable offerings in a farmers market, including succulent olives, tomatoes, peaches, plus, strawberries as big as your fist and . . . . Oh, exclaimed Bumpus, it all was so marvelous!”
Because of the marvelous aspects of France, it was only a few years later on another trip, she unexpectedly, stumbled into an opportunity to write a historical novel. It was entitled “A Cup of Redemption.”
That unexpected experience and novel, changed the course of her career.
Since then Bumpus has continued to be an award-winning culinary-travel author, extending her adventures to Italy and beyond.
Audiences will be given a one-of-a-kind look at Provence, one of Europe’s most coveted spots.
‘ADVENTURES ON LAND AND SEA: Searching for Culinary Pleasures in Provence and the Côte d’Azur’ will provide lots of details that only someone who loves travel can share.
During the three separate excursions in the new book—from Nice to Nîmes, Moustiers to Marseilles, and San Tropez to San Remy—Bumpus invites you to come along as she uncovers the mysteries of Provençal customs, traditions, and ancient cooking.
Usually, when people think of French cuisine they often imagine an expensive and elaborate restaurant setting.
Yet, as Bumpus explained. “At its heart French cooking is really about simple foods such as onions, garlic, mushrooms, etc.”
“It can be described as ‘peasant food’ said Bumpus, a food of the people because it can be enjoyed by everyone.”
The ‘good life’ as some people exclaim about France isn’t as out of reach as one might think. As Bumpus tries to convey to the readers, the genuine ‘good life’ is to appreciate life.
Good food and gracious living is more about being open to life and nature’s bounty rather than an ‘elite-mindset.’
Bumpus has discovered in her travels of more than 25 years, that the people of Europe, especially France are more about a Joie de vivre - a joy of living than anything else.
Reviews have proclaimed the book as informative, fun, sometimes funny, and filled with goodwill,
‘ADVENTURES ON LAND AND SEA Searching for Culinary Pleasures in Provence and the Cote d'Azur, is travel writing at its best.

A surface of conflict (in the sense of conflicting interest, no one is fistfighting. So far) you may not have encountered is:
In corner A, the sustainability advocate who want to minimize fossil fuel and exhaust by making every area of use as efficient as possible.
In corner B, the authenticity affectionado who thinks that using modern parts and materials when renovating older buildings should be publishable by death.
I'm obviously with A here, authenticity is nice, but if a window from the 20s is leaking heat, it's gotta go.
This conflict rarely takes place among the top echelons of either group though, instead they're fighting in the minds and comment sections of ordinary people trying to make their own homes habitable.

I'm once again reminded of the sheer whiplash of booting up Tokyo Mirage Sessions for the first time compared to setting up any other Fire Emblem game.
"Go ahead and set your difficulty! Any difficulty! It won't affect the story or progress or anything, we promise!"
Oh, ok, sounds good, thank-
"Oh by the way do you want Tsubasa to wear glasses or not? Are you an eyewear affectionado who appreciates the allure of a character who wears glasses?"
Wh-
"Or do you prefer she doesn't wear glasses because you appreciate and like people for who they are and how they look and aren't those shitty-little-shit people who force other people to dress a certain way for your approval?"
The fu-
"Or do you prefer we pick for you cuz clearly this is a very difficult choice for you and we understand if you can't make up your mind."
BRUH. I just got here. I don't even know who Tsubasa is. The fuck should I care this much about whatever the hell she does and doesn't wear? It's barely a few screens in, why are you already like this?

When using direct messaging on Tumblr in a mobile phone browser, the back button behavior is now more consistent when moving across conversations and your blogs’ inboxes.

3cm to 5cm a second
Buried in https://www.theguardian.com/society/2018/mar/07/crisis-touch-hugging-mental-health-strokes-cuddles which is otherwise mostly the usual bullshit is a rare bit of useful technical info:
Known as c tactile afferents, this last is the one that McGlone has studied for years. To find it, a needle is inserted into the skin to “fish”. “It’s like sitting on the banks of the river,” McGlone says. “One’s a pain fish. One’s an itch fish.” Hours can pass before anyone catches a gentle touch nerve, but this elusive fibre has helped to teach scientists why humans need touch.
By watching the nerve’s discharge behaviour while the skin is stroked, scientists have learned that the optimum speed of a human caress is 3cm to 5cm a second.

☕️ 🌵 Logan & Coffee Headcanon 🌵 ☕️
This hc is based on Logan’s like on coffee beans and I immediately thought of how he would make it cowboy style. Cowboy coffee is basically like french press without the filter, and some campers would do it this way too.
* Logan learns about the builder being a coffee enjoyer like him, so he would make her try his yakboy style coffee.
* The builder would be skeptical at first, because she heard about yakboy coffee being not that great, but still try it nonetheless.
* To the builder’s shock, it would taste actually good.
* Logan explain a trick that his Pa teached him; you had to add some cold water so the grounds precipitate to the bottom.
* The builder would request him more of his brewed coffee. It makes Logan happy, knowing someone else was a coffee affectionado, and liked the one he made on top of that.
* It’s their routine now, Logan would come over the builder’s workshop for their usual meet up to help and he would bring his fresh brewed yakboy coffee.
* One day, Logan would ask her if she wanted to try with a shot of whisky, something his pa used to do once in a while. She agrees. Not used to it, she is abit taken back at first by the taste of alcohol in it. After a few more sips, she understood how they would mix well, the bold tone of the coffee beans did pair well with the oaky flavor the whiskey provided.
* She would eventually ask if he could also do it with the fancy imported coffee beans she would get from Highwind. He would oblige.
* They would try different beans everytime, some better than the other.
* But they would always come back to the classic: Sandrock coffee beans.
