UM i like the mgs fandom for the most part ! theres only some unfortunate weirdoes ive stumbled across but theres no like. majorly awful experiences ive had or anything. the only real points of contention in this fandom are, for me;

this might be a controversial point but there is a notable subset of people who ONLY view a specific type of character ( thin / androgynous / feminine ) as transmasc and never the stereotypically masculine ones and it's. uncomfortable. the only real exception i can think of is snake ? but the rest are predominantly androgynous younger thin guys and it comes off.. weird n transphobic. YES transmascs can be feminine and people can make whatever headcanons they want but some people are so. weird. about it. like that person i saw who said "raikov has to be afab because he looks so feminine" like girl fucking what. hits you with a broom so hard it leaves a dent

IN TERMS OF MANHUNT 2 I LOVE THE LITTLE FANDOM theyre very sweet and enjoyable. theres some people i personally dont interact with just because i dont vibe with them but theres no like hostility about it. thankfully the fandom is very small and that makes me quite gleeful because i never feel like im missing out on anything

Metal Gear LGBTQ Headcanons: Updated

OK so I made one of these when I just got back into MGS after several years away from it. It wasn't very well written though as I did most of it at like 3am and falling asleep, but also I hadn't fully reacquainted myself with everyone yet. So, here's a new and improved LGBTQ headcanons post! (with a lot of canon influence tbf)

This heavily focuses on sexuality over gender because to be honest my gender headcanons for many characters fluctuates so often that it would be redundant to put them all down as "variable based on the whims of Armel's genderfluid ass". Basically though quite a lot of characters can be transgender when I feel like it, or remain their AGAB (or at least aligned with such) when I feel like it. Anyone who I have a more solid (heh) gender headcanon for will get mentioned, but if it's not just assume I could see them as either cis or trans depending on my mood at that moment.

Characters are listed by the game they debuted in (release order), then alphabetically. Also it's under the cut bc it gets LONG

Metal Gear 1

Big Boss is bisexual. He's also polyamorous.

Fox is bisexual.

Snake is bisexual with a preference for men, as well as agender/demiboy (any pronouns). Also headcanon him as trans (i.e. AFAB) more often than not. To elobarate: he doesn't really identify with gender as a concept, it's just never been that important to him. He likes having a masculine body, but otherwise is completely indifferent to things like clothing, gender roles, and pronouns.

Metal Gear 2

Campbell is cishet.

Kaz Miller is bisexual and polyamorous.

Metal Gear Solid

Liquid is gay.

Mantis is asexual, demiromantic, queerplatonic, and agender (they preferred, he accepted). AGAB varies.

They’re really afraid of something happening to their neck, like you know, that kind of stuff, ouch, no real reason for this fear, they just have it. They’re also really afraid of being abandoned and being alone oof

2. Is your oc picky about food? What kinds of foods do they like and dislike? What do they consider a comfort or “safe” food?

They hate tomatoes and milk with a passion, but otherwise most foods are okay with them, it’s more about the texture for them, not the taste, but if it has a weird texture, big oof moments. They really like any sort of fast food (except Wendy’s) and they love Dr Pepper so much lol

3. What does your oc’s voice sound like? (Or, if you have one, what’s their voiceclaim?) Can they sing, whistle, or roll their rs? Do they have any speech impediments or notable dialects/accents?

Their voice basically sounds like mine, but low key deep, and kinda raspy too. They can sing alright, not great but they like singing along to songs. They can whistle really well, the kind of really good whistling that pisses you off >:) lol. they cannot roll their r’s lol haha loser can’t roll their r’s :’). they used to have a stutter as a kid and it comes out when they’re really upset.

4. Is your oc good at keeping secrets?

They are great at keeping secrets, because they care a lot :), but also cus they have terrible memory and will probably forget it lol

3. Which was the hardest to write, in terms of plot?

I liveblogged my plotting all over Tumblr, but the zombie AU (Revelations on my AO3 for those of you just tuning in) was way harder than it should have been. Mostly because I got really neurotic about plot holes, and wanted the way everyone met in the AU to be as seamless as it could be. It was supposed to just be the main fic, if you can believe it, but then I kept thinking of things I hadn’t dealt with, so there ended up being two prequel fics. (Also, it took so long to find a copy of the first paper on hemophilia, because everything I found was paywalled and my Google-fu is weak.)

12. What WIPs do you have going now? Are you excited about them?

You’ve awoken the Kraken...I have so many WIPs that are waiting for life to be slightly less chaotic

-I still have a sequel for Vita Dum Superest planned, with vague ideas of it being some sort of kidnapping plot. But there are various [spoilery] things I want to research before I plot it, and I need a b-plot to happen alongside the mystery

(Side note: if you or anyone else has Zombie AU prompts, I will totally write them, I want to play in that universe a bit more)

-The Dominique/Chloe roleplaying fic and the Ben/Ayasha/Hannibal/Rose reincarnation AU are still sitting in my drafts, waiting patiently for me to finish them

-I have a sequel to my Eponine/Cosette fairy AU planned, as well as an entirely new Eponine/Cosette fairy AU that I want to write (which I blame @court-of-ocelot for)

-Oh, and also a Marius/Cosette/Eponine noir AU (possibly set in post-WWI Paris? Idk, sometime in historical Paris) wherein Eponine is the private eye who Marius hires to find his missing wife Cosette, who is herself investigating her father’s mysterious past

-There’s this Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries orgy fic that literally only needs two more paragraphs, but that I’ve been putting off finishing for literally a year
