MCU Femship Week | Day 5: Femslash | Sif and Wanda Maximoff

(this series also counts as sapphic aesthetics)

This is mostly predicated on two simple premises: the noble Lady Sif has known a remarkable amount of women intimately (some men, too, but that’s far from the topic at hand) and Wanda Maximoff, aka the Scarlet Witch, deserves happiness. It’s pretty easy to handwave reasons for Sif to encounter other characters - interdimensional travel being a hallmark of her subfranchise - and I’m sure they’d find each other interesting. So it’s something like this: Sif winds up on Earth again, proximal to the rogue ex-Avengers, and some semi-wacky but ultimately important to the fate of the universe adventure takes place. Over the course of said adventure, Wanda finds herself drawn to the warrior goddess, which the other members of her team are surprised but gladdened by (she’s been even more drawn into herself since the Raft, which they all understand, but it’s nice to see her taking a real interest again), and Sif in turn grows fond of the little witch. It’s no long-term arrangement, they both know that, but it’s something small and beautiful for both of them: there’s physical intimacy, of course there is, and it’s immensely satisfying and intensely consensual, but there’s so much more, too. Sif can match any language Wanda cares to speak in (and what a relief that is - it’s not that she isn’t fluent in English, because she obviously is, but sometimes it’s nice to be able to slip into a language she doesn’t have to train herself to think in) and will gladly chatter with her about anything that comes to mind, Wanda has a remarkably easy time opening up to Sif about some of her current vulnerabilities (some are familiar enough to any warrior, and Sif is quick to console her about the other more specific horrors and swear to do harm to those who would inflict them on such a true-hearted girl), Sif teaches Wanda techniques for battle, Wanda is happy to listen to any strategic - or idle - musing Sif cares to share.

No it’s not for forever, but it’s very lovely and indulgent and good anyway.
