एग्जिट पोल्स में दिल्ली की बाजी सत्ताधारी आम आदमी पार्टी (आप) के हाथ लगती नजर आ रही है. एग्जिट पोल के परिणाम यदि नतीजों में बदलते हैं, तो दिल्ली का रण जीतने के बाद आम आदमी पार्टी की नजरें पंजाब पर रहेंगी. आप पंजाब के नेता दिल्ली के परिणामों का प्रदेश में सीधा और सकारात्मक असर पड़ने का दावा कर रहे हैं.

आप नेताओं के दावे को नकारा भी नहीं जा सकता. साल 2017 के विधानसभा चुनाव में पार्टी ने 20 सीटों पर जीत दर्ज की थी. हालांकि आप पंजाब में सरकार नहीं बना पाई, लेकिन मजबूत विपक्ष के रूप में जरूर उभरी. आप के प्रदेश उपाध्यक्ष अमन अरोड़ा के मुताबिक दिल्ली की जीत का सीधा असर पंजाब में दिखेगा, क्योंकि कांग्रेस की सरकार पंजाब और पंजाब के लोगों की माली हालत सुधारने में नाकाम रही है.

आप के प्रदेश उपाध्यक्ष दावे तो कर रहे, लेकिन पंजाब में पार्टी की डगर इतनी आसान भी नहीं. पंजाब में आप का कुनबा बिखरा हुआ है. वहीं, अकाली दल ने आप पर हमला बोलते हुए कहा है कि वे प्रमुख राजनीतिक पार्टी के रूप में उभरने के बावजूद अपनी भूमिका ठीक से नहीं निभा पाए. अकाली दल के नेता डॉक्टर दलजीत चीमा ने कहा कि आम आदमी पार्टी न तो  विधानसभा के अंदर, ना ही बाहर ही जनता की उम्मीदों पर खरी उतरी.
