#aemond ‘mommy issues’ targaryen

the show seems to be setting up this storyline of aemond finding maternal comfort from sylvi, and i think something similar is going to play out between him and alys.

bc yes aemond and sylvi do have sex, but the scenes we have of the two of them seem to imply that he also goes to her to seek emotional comfort, and it does seem to me that it’s some fucked up maternal relationship that aemond might be looking for.

mommy issues gang rise up!

from what we saw in s1 it did look like aemond was the one kid alicent seemed to get and therefore have a better relationship with, probably bc she could relate to his feeling of being different and of being cast out bc of something you can’t control (aka not having a dragon and being married to viserys).

but this season the turns have tabled bc it seems that alicent is fully pinning the war on aemond, or at least that’s what he believes since that’s what he told criston.

so it makes sense (kinda sorta in a mommy issues way) that he would look for a maternal relationship with the other “older” woman in his life that he feels bonded to bc ✨trauma✨.

so i think something similar is gonna happen between him and alys, where yes he shows up and kills everyone she’s ever known and then takes her as his war prize, but i think we’ll also see her play into his mommy issues.

and yk what lowkey good for her.

the idea of her knowing about the gods eye and still sending him to his death as revenge for killing her whole family after having to play mommy?

usual reminder that the book is unreliable and blabla, so if you read it and believe that alys was a big old witch who enchanted aemond into doing bad things (bc it’s not like he was a psycho before he met her), then that’s fine.

since the book is meant to be unreliable and we don’t know what actually happened, we can all form our own opinions.

i personally very much believe that alys was a victim of aemond’s, and in a fucked up way what he did to her was considered normal at the time so it’s not even that big of a stretch to think he would do it too.

but again to each their own, no hate here.
