Buy The Shoes

I’m talking metaphorically here as I have plenty of shoes at the moment. My shoes in this story is a hand towel. When I got divorced and moved out I got stuff for my bathroom and I saw this most beautiful towel. I didn’t have much money so I just bought one. One hand towel with two towel hangers in my bathroom. Days turn to weeks and week to months. I always meant to go back to that store and get another towel to match the one I had. Today I am having a me day and had a little extra money from working so hard. So I decided a year later to finally go back to the store. Sadly they didn’t have the beautiful towel I wanted so bad. I bought two similar ones so my bathroom still matches, but I can’t help but think why didn’t I just do it and buy the towel? Life is so short as it is and for me good things are small are far between. I need to live in the moment more and not constantly think ‘What if’. Might lose people that don’t follow this but what else is knew?

So I have been on an emotional rollercoaster this past week. I found out something about my boyfriend that to some it would be no big deal. However to me it crushed my soul. I can overlook a lot when I love someone but this one issue (so sorry I can’t post it since it is a very debatable subject) is hard to oversee. I wrote him a long letter and spent most of Saturday with him talking and crying about everything. I even told him I broke my own heart loving him. We didn’t exactly break up but at the same time we are kinda separated. I told him I would still be faithful if he would since I still didn’t want anyone else. We are taking a month off. Which is really a long time but I think it will make or break us. He needs to work on himself and I need to get used to being alone as I hate it so so much. I really am the loneliest person. I don’t even have a pet to come home to and my roommates keep to themselves. Giving him up feels like going through a divorce all over again. I told him that if he still wants me then he needs to fight for me and really try. Show me he cares, read my book, buy me flowers. We will see after a month. He already failed me by working on Saturday where I am going to be jumping out of an airplane. I really needed him there for me. He did request it off but I guess he didn’t get it. It hurts a lot. I also bought tickets for a concert on the 5th just for him to say he doesn’t really want to go. So now i'm stuck with an extra ticket. It was supposed to be when our month is up. This is going in a very sad direction. Maybe i’m not meant to find love. 

For now i’m just gonna keep going on adventures and living life in the moment. Skydiving is going to be one of the scariest and biggest adventures. Sadly I am going to do it alone. He feels awful that he won't be there but I said he wasn’t there when I ziplined and I left his house to go. He was just lazy, so how is this different. He just keeps letting me down. I am going to just live my life and if he makes an effort great if not I need to let him go, though it breaks my heart to do so. He’s my best friend and he even said I am his.

So as some of you may have read in previous posts, this last vacation was all about facing fears and anxiety. When up in Sunriver (if you follow my stories you saw), I went Kayaking. If you live with anxiety, some of you know that a lot of things can be terrifying and extremely exciting all at once. This was like that for me. Before my accident and my POTS, something like this wouldn't have scared me, I would've just gone for it! Now my brain overthinks it all, even though I love being outdoors and going on adventures! We got in a small area off the river to learn how to balance and use them first. I thought for sure I would flip as soon as I got in, but I didn't. It wasnt too bad, I was learning to turn, and not run into things pretty quickly! Then our friend asked if we wanted to go out on the river. That was a loaded question. Did I want to? Yes! Of course I did! Was my fear trying to stop me? Yes! I sat there kind of unable to answer as all the scenerios went through my head of what could happen. Then I realized, I said I wasn't going to be this way in this vacation! I was going to do the thing I wanted to do. I don't want to let anxiety stop me, and the best way to stop that is just to tell those voices they don't have control and do it! So we did! You know what? I was fine and IT WAS SO MUCH FUN! I'm so glad and thankful I had that experience! Went to pick Mum up from the airport yesterday and in honour of her adventure had a new cosplay- a polar bear (with a red scarf for Norway's flag). I rode the bus from the car park to the terminal and then checked the arrivals board. I Went Sky Diving!

So yesterday I did something crazy but also amazing! I finally went skydiving! I got a groupon from my Reddit secret santa on Christmas day and had until June to get the courage to go. I decided April 14th was a good time since my daughter was on a cruise with her dad and new step mom. The weather has finally warmed up too. I went alone yesterday. It was hard but being alone is really something I need to work on with myself. I struggle with it all the time. I got to the place (Skydive Lone Star) an hour early. I checked in and they were very surprised I was alone. I wanted to scream “I have no one!” But instead I just smiled and shrugged it off, saying all my friends weren’t brave enough. They put me in the video room alone to watch the training video. I was happy when the office dog joined me by my side and watched it with me. When it was over they told me they only have one small plane going up today so it will be a two hour wait. I thanked them and went outside to wait. There wasn’t much to do or anyone to talk to so I put my bag on the ground and layed out in the sun on the grass. I actually really enjoyed it as laying on the grass is one of my happy places. It was really windy so that kinda sucked. I was very happy to be greeted by a farm cat that lived on the grounds. He kept me company most of the time.

Then it was almost time for the jump. I met with the photographer and took a few pics and video of me. Then I met with my instructor that was going to jump with me. Super hot with an accent by the way. I was put in a tiny plane and had to sit in hotness lap. Kinda awkward though, since I didn’t know him. But he was used to it i'm sure. The photographer interviewed me again when we got into the air. The pressure change from that little plane going up totally made my stomach drop. I was like how am I going to feel free falling? Then it was time for the jump they opened the small door and a freezing blast of wind him me. The feeling only lasted a second as I stepped out onto that tiny ledge. I always saw in movies and tv shows that they count down before jumping. Nope once I settled myself we just jumped. The feeling of flying is almost indescribable. I didn’t scream or feel that drop in my stomach. I felt free. Like I belonged in the sky. It was over too quickly and the shoot was pulled. That was still fun too, gliding over the world. For those five minutes it was like nothing was wrong in my life. But now i'm back to reality and it hurts. I will write that in another blog. HERE is the link to my video.
