... Man, but imagine the crushing disappointment when you learn how much €1 is(n't) worth. Namely, the four days' fair wages a tetradrachm would've been worth.

#admittedly the drachma was a 'fair wage' for what we might today call a working class job and we might dispute today how fair it is #and currency conversions don't really work when the economies have such wildly different workings #but still #a euro wouldn't be a fair wage for a quarter hour's work in modern europe #let alone four days' work
