TELL ME ABOUT THE MEN!!!!!!
HELLO!!!
GLADLY :DD
THE MEN. :)
Tumblr media
They’re called shoot from the hip (sfth) and are @shootimpro on youtube, tiktok, instagram, facebook, x/twitter, as well as on linktree, patreon and ko-fi.
They’re London based but have done shows outside london like in Scotland (Edinburgh Fringe) and even to Spain. They want to hopefully go to other countries in the future too!!
From left to right they’re Sam, Tom, AJ and Luke :)))
(this will probably be LONG so putting a read more lol)
Ok so they do improvised comedy and their shows have two halves (generally with a break in the middle) they play lots of short drama games in the first half and then improvise 20-30 minute (on average) plays in the second half, sometimes with another game at the end.
The plays are so much fun (they’ve got 38 of them up on youtube so far!!) and they’ve also released two full specials (full shows) which you can find on their channel :)
(just a note that for a few of the older ones (apart from the first one) they were filming on an iphone and just projecting their voices, the the audio and image quality can be hard to deal with)
they have SO MUCH CONTENT because during covid they did zoom-style improv shows with eachother and you can watch them as a patreon
they also have SO MANY VIDEOS that are just the regular public ones!!!! They upload short ones of the games and some 5-10min ones of the games too, as well as the long forms (plays)
Now some info about the guys :D
Samuel Thomas Russell-Holmes:
Birthday 21st July 1989 (35)
Married this year and expecting a baby!!! :)
wears a red flannel a LOT (less recently, but still a LOT, it’s his Thing)
he says some very risky things sometimes but also has the audacity to look shocked when the others do it lol
Fav colour is green
he’s 5”10
brown eyes
currently producing a radio show for the bbc called wing it (available in December!)
if he were a Disney Princess he said he’d be Rapunzel
VERY GOOD AT ANIMAL (specifically goat/sheep) NOISES

great at talking in Spanish gibberish, often paired with opening his shirt buttons
loves fantasy things
wrote an audiobook called “Evergreen”
his mother and grandfather are/were successful actors
Has a drama degree
Low spice tolerance
has eaten raw egg live on camera
can be a tad egotistical but we love him
Thomas Mayo-Woodman/Hodgson-Mayo:
HES SO TALL (this man is almost 2m tall- he’s 6”5.5 :0)
brown eyes
his birthday is 10th July 1989 (35)
Married to a drag king (@pipdream on insta, tiktok, youtube, ect.) who’s pronouns are they/them
Wrote a graphic novel (it’s called Future it’s about space lesbians)
literally one of the sweetest and kindest souls on this planet I’ve never met him but every time he says anything it’s like WOW OK YOURE SO NICE AND KIND AND WONDERFUL (everything I’ve heard from people who’ve met him is SO NICE)
SO GOOD AT IMPROVISING (specifically Shakespearian-style) MONOLOGUES
his favourite colour is red
has two english degrees (very good with grammar and words)
has adhd
makes a garbled choking noise very well (you have to hear it to get what I mean I guess lol)
has eaten a teabag live on camera
He’s the “dad” of the group
Very hard to make him laugh on stage (but he’s been laughing more, recently!!) and each one is treasured
so kind did I mention he is kind
lovingly called a squid or squidboi by the fandom because of one time he like stuck his hands in his sleeves and was like “I’m a squid”
does a lot of admin work for sfth and handles the finances (at least he did, they might have someone for that now I’m not sure) and takes care of the patreon
Alexander Thomas Jeremy (AJ):
Birthday on 4th November 1991 (32)
CONFUSION KING /aff (he gets confused easily but we love him for it)
He’s bald and gets made fun of for it RELENTLESSLY (again, lovingly)
Absolutely ANGELIC singing voice
Blue eyes
born in Manchester(UK) but grew up in France (fluent in French)
makes movies/short films on youtube!! He’s working on a new one now and you can find them @atjeremy on youtube (that’s also his insta and you can see stuff about his films there too!)
does a lot of the editing for sfth and has a lot of input into which longforms to upload apparently (all of them decide tho I think)
he’s such a himbo (/aff)
fav colour is blue
He’s 6 foot tall
On their covid livestreams would always forget to get costuming ready
his rapping is BEAUTIFUL (words that barely rhyme at all and make NO sense 😌)
can deliver GREAT one liners
so good at playing children it’s crazy
can do magnificent cartwheels and loves to jump on the others with no warning
lots of muscles but lost an arm wrestle against Tom
Thinks he can’t do an Irish accent but I think it’s pretty good
also has a drama degree
Luke Christopher Manning
Birthday is the 23rd October 1989 (currently 34 about to be 35)
Hazel eyes
hes not short but he’s the short-EST, 5”7.5
gets made fun of for his height a LOT (lovingly!!)
SO good at accents
so good at playing women
also so good at playing children
such a good actor overall
says THE MOST UNHINGED THINGS
people think he’s innocent (somehow) but he’s SO unhinged
took his pants off live on stage (wearing underwear but still lol) (AND it’s on youtube hahaha)
lives in Spain with his long term girlfriend (fluent in Spanish)
so much attitude in such a small guy (/aff)
often compared to Macaulay Caulkin looks-wise
plays bass guitar in a band
Teaches acting (to kids??) in Spain
also has adhd
also has a drama degree
His favourite film is back to the future I believe
So confident in himself (this is a very good thing)
people say he “doesn’t age” and looks really young but I personally think he does look his age
sometimes called “Luke Womanning” as a play on his last name because of how amazing all his female characters are
They’re all really close friends and met at uni and started doing improv around 13 years ago together! Started gaining popularity 2022 and are gaining more and more fans every day!
Um. Whoops I wrote a lot lol. (It totally hasn’t been an hour of me just writing this hahahaha)
anyway I love them so much :)))) (as you can probably tell)
anyway!
THANK YOU SO MUCH ANON THIS ASK MEANS SO MUCH TO ME :DDDDD

2020 Creator Wrap: Favourite Works
I’ve been tagged by @kholran weeks ago. Thanks for the tag, and I’m terribly sorry for putting it off so long.
Rules: It’s time to love yourselves! Choose your 5 (or so) favorite works you created in the past year (fics, art, edits, etc.) and link them below to reflect on the amazing things you brought into the world in 2020. Tag as many writers/artists/etc. as you want (fan or original) so we can spread the love and link each other to awesome works.
For all The Shit that happened in 2020 from a fanfic-writing perspective this has been an amazing year for me. I’ve added 19 (!) works to my AO3 page, which I’m actually pretty proud of. At this point, I want to give a HUGE thanks and shout-out to @outlanderbingo and the two wonderful admins @levisqueaks and @mistresspandorawritesthings. You’ve made my year! <3 Thank you!
I’m actually struggling to articulate how much this means to me. Most of you are aware that English is not my first language (not even the second in terms of order lol). The 3 works from 2017 and 2018 on my AO3 all have been translations - as in I’ve written them first in my native language, posted it on my old LJ blog, and then later translated them and published them on AO3.
I found the process very slow and tedious (even though I have not regretted it - A bed and a penny had gotten so much love over these two years, it makes me tear up). When I found the Outlander Bingo Challenge I knew I would struggle to keep up and get even 5 stories out if I wrote them in two languages. Besides, OL was never big in the fanfic-writing community I was part of in my native language (that was part of the reason why I stopped writing in this fandom, and also probably why I still have so much to discuss and write about ^^” I never had people to talk about these characters in-depth okay??? :P)
1. So, as number one I will name whatever this may be simply because this was the first ever completed piece of prose I’ve written fully in English (not translated from my own writing). Again, I don’t think I can fully articulate how much this means to me.
I’m not living in my country of origin anymore and when we made the move (before shit hit the fan in March thank goodness) it was very much with a permanent intention. I wasn’t happy in that place, I’ve found a lot of things toxic in general and even in the writing community. This kind of made me confront the idea that I may never publish my writing again even online, because even though I could with the marvels of the internet, I simply needed a relatively clean cut and lots of time away. I’m just not in the headspace where I can keep engaging with that community.
All this to say, that I’ve made my peace with this prospect and would have been kind of fine writing only for myself. But then you all came along and inspired me to try... and the knowledge that I get to do this, that even though my grammar is crap and I mix up words and probably write bs half the time, I have a voice, that my writing voice translates into English, that’s pretty huge for me. That knowledge is the biggest gift you could have given me. Okay, back to the list, Nara, don’t make yourself cry...
2. rum, spices and river water - oh Lord John and wee Byrd... they have been my new-found love in 2020. I’m not nearly done with writing about them :P I like this one because it’s just tooth-rotting fluff in Jamaica, and they deserve to be happy.
3. two years without, one with (you) - this broke me in the best way possible. John/Percy fix-it during BotB. I didn’t even like Percy that much but then I started listening to the audiobooks and Jeff Woodman narrated him in such a way that I suddenly saw the potential.
4. wasting wine - come on, I can’t make a list without having something exceptionally explicit on it :P You could say this is the best of both worlds a John/Percy/Tom threesome. This was when I still thought I wouldn’t write anything else with Percy btw.
Okay, last one and I’m going to be terribly selfish, but this is my list, deal with it :P
5. his brother’s coat - I feel like the holiday blues pushed me off the deep end, but this was just such fun to write. After a brief dilemma of can I? and am I allowed to? I’ve written this little piece of Alex/Jack Randall fic, and I’m not going to lie, I’ve enjoyed every second of meticulously polishing the words on this terrible little idea :P As much as I love fluff and fix-it, I do want to get better at writing some darker and/or bittersweet flavours. Just because those are the stories that stay with me the longest, and I genuinely like reading those.
That’s my wrap-up for the year. Thank you all so much for your support, for your kindness, for the fun we shared this year <3
I have lost track of who has done this, so consider yourself tagged if you haven’t!

The next major Windows 10 update is launching on Monday
New Post has been published on https://latestnews2018.com/the-next-major-windows-10-update-is-launching-on-monday/
The next major Windows 10 update is launching on Monday
After a brief delay (though Microsoft won’t confirm or deny this), Microsoft today announced that the Windows 10 April 2018 Update will be available as a free download to users worldwide on Monday, April 30, with the broader rollout starting May 8.
As with every Windows release, there’s plenty of new features, cosmetic tweaks and bugfixes here. But since Microsoft now tests all of these through its Windows Insider program ahead of the wider launch, there are no real surprises here (except for maybe the name, which is obviously not “Spring Creators Update”) .
As Microsoft’s general manager for Windows product marketing Aaron Woodman told me ahead of today’s launch, the company sees this update as a continuation of the overall Windows 10 journey. According to Woodman, the overall idea behind this release was to ensure that “people can do their best work on Windows.”
“When you think about the release, there is a theme being pulled through,” he told me. “How do we help customers really get things complete and save time and be more efficient on Windows than on any other operating system.”
Indeed, after having used the update for a while now, it very much feels like Microsoft’s overall vision for Windows 10 is really coming together. The most obvious manifestation of that is the new Timeline feature, which is the highlight of the release. It was actually supposed to be in the Fall Creators Update from October 2017, but it simply wasn’t ready for a wider rollout then.
The overall idea here is simple: users now jump between desktop and mobile all day long, but it’s hard to pick up where you left off when you go back and forth between devices, even if you’re just talking about a desktop and a laptop. With Timeline, Windows 10 users get a view of their recent activity from the last 30 days, no matter whether that’s in Edge on Android or Office 365 on another Windows machine.
Timeline is built right into the existing task switcher and ideally it’ll allow you to, for example, jump right back into a document you were working on in the office when you get to your laptop at home. This feature has a lot of promise, but I haven’t actually found it all that useful yet, mainly because most developers have yet to support it. While Edge is a perfectly fine browser, I mostly use Firefox and Chrome, and those don’t appear in timeline yet. If you’re a heavy Office 365 user, though, this feature is likely a godsend.
In Woodman’s view, Timeline is a good example for where Windows is going, though. “One of the big changes you see with Windows Timeline is that it embraces the end customer over the individual machine,” he told me.
Another major new feature Microsoft is highlighting is Focus Assist, which basically mutes notifications for you. You can set it to automatically mute notifications at specific times or turn it on at will. You can also choose to still receive calls and emails from specific people even when you are in focus mode. While this isn’t going to “wow” most people, it’s surely useful, especially if your company has adopted Slack or a similar tool that’s meant to make communications easier but mostly just leads to constant distractions. When you turn your notifications back on, Focus Assist will present you with a summary of what you’ve missed.
Also new is support for system-wide dictation. Microsoft isn’t putting this front and center with this release — and you’ll have to use the Windows Key+H shortcut to actually start it — but if that’s something you’ve always wanted, your time has come. Dictation will work in any text field.
Unsurprisingly, Microsoft is also launching an updated version of its Edge browser with this release. You can read more about that here, but the highlights of the updated Edge are full-screen support for books, PDFs and Reading View pages, as well as support for a new grammar tool that can analyze sentences for you. Also new is the ability to save your address and payment preferences to make filling out payment forms easier (something Chrome and others have long done), as well as the ability to print clutter-free versions of articles you are reading on the web.
Oh, and you can now finally mute noisy tabs, too!
In addition to these consumer-centric features, the company is also announcing a number of features for Windows 10 business and enterprise users today. For the most part, these will make the life of IT admins easier. You can read more about those new features here.
As you can see, this isn’t a major overhaul of Windows 10 — and with the semi-annual updates, that’s no real surprise. As I noted above, it’s starting to feel like Microsoft’s overall vision for Windows 10 is coming into focus. Not everybody is going to love an operating system that increasingly relies on cloud services for some of its more advanced features (like Timeline), but that’s pretty much the way Microsoft is going here and that’s also where there is some obvious room for innovations.

If you’re a heavy Office 365 users, though, this feature is likely a godsend.
While this isn’t going to wow most people, it’s surely useful, especially if your company has adopted Slack or a similar tool that’s meant to make communications easier but mostly just leads to constant distractions.
