My honest review and opinion on kalki 2898 AD movie;

I just watched the movie today and I do have a few opinions about this movie..

So, first of all, I'm ngl but i really love Amitabh bacchan sir's acting, He , as always was brilliant! Like he is above 80 but the way he carried himself as the role of aswatthama was brilliant!

I did love Kamal Hassan sir's acting even though his screen time was less, the makeup for me was kinda brilliant, and he's a phenomenal actor.

Deepika Padukone in her mother era! She's such a beauty! Like man how the hell is she so beautiful, like wow! Mother is mothering for me!

Saswata chatterjee sir, fellow bong, you were amazing even though I kinda didn't like the comedic thing that they added to Manas's character, but trust me, he was brilliant like always! But My parents did love the comedic thing tbh!

Okay, so Prabash, compared to Adipurush, here his acting and expressions did improve a lot for which he does deserve applause. But honestly, I didn't really like the character of Bhairava, honestly for me the comedic timings were really unnecessary. I mean, making him a tad bit serious would've done it tbh. His acting at some places was kinda stiff , but compared to Adipurush, it was great but still not at the Bahubali level.

Now regarding the movie in general:

The first half before the interval was confusing. I'm ngl but it took me some time to understand certain places and the comedy wasn't really necessary at certain places.

The second half does really picks up the pace , like the second half compared to the first was really better tbh.

I loved the part where they tried to bring every religion together and wanted to convey that every religion is similar to eachother was amazing!!!

Now mythology wise, being a mythology fan and a history nerd,

I hated how they made Arjuna look arrogant, like guys, Arjuna is described as a brilliant warrior, strategist with the kindest heart during that eta. It is often said, that arjuna was considered to be the most humane out of them all. And making him arrogant was not that great according to me.

And bringing karna there was totally unnecessary! His character was not needed! It was not all needed to bring karna back and give him a re-birth.

Aswatthama part I can understand, considering he was cursed to have immortality but still

I feel like they could've brought arjuna back tbh, because it is said that Krishna and Arjuna are parts of the same soul, so it would've done them good if they brought arjuna back to make him as Kalki's guide and friend instead!

And c'mon, the fact that they tried to portray that arjuna only won because of having gandiva, Krishna and Hanuman on his side is wrong. Like he was the greatest warrior of his generation, give him the credit! The respect that he deserves for his prowess!

And giving Gandiva to Kali?! Like if they wanted to add a celestial weapon, they could've added Sharanga,the bow of vishnu instead. Gandiva is not even related to Vishnu or his avatars . And it is said that only arjuna, Krishna and bhima could've lifted the bow, so how can kali lift it? I feel like they wanted to portray that , what would happen if a great power falls into the hands of the evil, but then use Sharanga bow instead of gandiva.

Nag Ashwin sir, even though I really like the action scenes, I feel like, it needs a bit more research on the mythological context.

This is my personal opinion so please respect it!

The familiarity indeed hampers suspense and thrill to some extent as everybody will know what’s coming next and how it will end, but Singham Again, as a movie, relies entirely on its presentation. This is a kind of mass cinema that appeals to the audience because of the iconic character played by Ajay Devgn and his machismo. In fact, Devgn is presented as a God-like character in his Singham franchise. When you see him, you will get the vibe that he is invincible and will demolish anything that comes his way. Besides that, he will also intimidate and freeze anybody with his roaring dialogues. You will witness half the Bollywood population in just one movie ticket. Isn't it worth it? Well, I guess so! The supporting cast also includes Tiger Shroff playing ACP Satya Bali, Deepika Padukone as DCP Shakti Shetty, and Dayanand Shetty as the intimidating Senior Inspector Daya Shetty who is famous for breaking doors. I have to say that Hindi cinema has lost a “could-have-been” mega-villain. It’s Arjun Kapoor! He is used to playing protagonist roles in any movie he does, which usually flops in the Box Office. However, he just showcased his marvelous acting skills by playing the lead villain in Singham Again. In fact, he should have been a Bollywood villain rather than a hero. Bollywood couldn’t identify his villainous talent. In Singham Again, it is an unarguable fact that his villainous character with sheer madness completely overshadows the titular protagonist (Ajay Devgn) solely because of his stellar performance. Jackie Shroff as Lashkar Chief Omar Hafeez lent great support. I must tell you that even if the screenplay is similar to Ramayana, you will enjoy the suspense and thrill that builds up as it proceeds. It won’t matter even if you are aware of what’s going to happen next. You will be glued to your seats with your eyes wide open for the entire duration of 2 hours and 30 minutes. The visuals and special effects of the action and stunt sequences are mind-blowing. The action choreography is marvelous with impressive stunts and fights and the background music adds to the screenplay’s extravaganza. The Bad: To be honest, Salman Khan’s weak cameo as Inspector Chulbul Pandey from the Dabangg franchise in the post-credit scenes of Singham Again gravely disappointed me. I was expecting to see Ajay Devgn and Salman Khan, the two supercops, shoulder-to-shoulder in Singham Again, fighting the villains. But Rohit Shetty shattered all my expectations and made the Dabangg star have just a post-credit special appearance. In fact, Akahsy Kumar’s stunt-powered cameo as DCP Veer Sooryavanshi was the truly thrilling one. I have to say, if any other supercop can stand on par with DCP Bajirao Singham (Ajay Devgn), it is DCP Veer Sooryavanshi (Akshay Kumar) and not Inspector Chulbul Pandey (Salman Khan). Another shortcoming in the movie is the buildup of Arjun Kapoor’s villainous character. Even if Arjun has given a stupendous performance, his character development falls flat at the end of the screenplay. I guess, the makers ruined his character’s aura solely because they were trying to keep the screenplay's duration within the 150-minute frame. These starry cameos are responsible for elevating his third installment to the Singham franchise. When Akshay Kumar and Ranveer Singh have already given so much effort in their cameos in Singham Again, I doubt if the audiences would prefer to see these two in their original film sequels, Sooryavanshi 2 or Simmba 2, which may be coming up very soon. Unfortunately, they have settled so well within the Singham franchise that they have spoiled their own aura in their original cop films. Deeepika Padukone stole the hearts of the audiences with her “Lady Singham” avatar, DCP Shakti Shetty. Rumors have it that Rohit Shetty has planned to make a separate movie on “Lady Singham” which will star Deepika Padukone in the eponymous character. Rohit Shetty is used to bringing Singham, Sooryavanshi, and Simmba together but when we were expecting to see a bit of Chulbul Pandey as well, he disappointed us by placing Chulbul Pandey in a post-credit scene. Remember, all three cops Singham, Sooryavanshi, and Simmba belong to Rohit Shetty’s Cop Universe but Chulbul Pandey doesn’t. He is from a separate cop franchise named Dabangg. So, it is obvious that Rohit Shetty will promote his own cops rather than promoting some other cop from another franchise. Logic, isn’t it?! Setting all logic apart, it’s time to ride the “Ramayana-reloaded” roller coaster of entertaining action and thrill! Fighter Box Office Estimate Day 5: Hrithik Roshan-Deepika Padukone starrer registers a STEEP 70% drop; collects approx. Rs. 7 cr. on Monday

The much talked about and keenly anticipated Siddharth Anand directorial Fighter starring Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone hit screens last week. After a modest opening the business of the film witnessed immense growth over its opening weekend. In fact, with positive reviews and good word of mouth the business of Fighter has been steadily growing. However, now on its fifth day running, or rather its first Monday, the business of Fighter has failed to maintain its momentum at the box office.

Rightly dubbed as ‘Khooni Monday’, the actual litmus test for any film, in this case, Fighter has resulted in a staggering 70% drop in business from its opening day. When compared to its first-day collections of Rs. 24 cr, Fighter has registered approximately just Rs. 7 cr. in collections on Day 5. If that was not enough when compared to its collections on its first Friday, which incidentally was Republic Day, the business of Fighter has dropped from Rs. 41.20 cr. to Rs. 7 cr, registering a massive 82% drop. This staggering drop highlights the fact that despite the buzz around the film and the promotions, the collections of Fighter have not really taken off on Monday.

If one were to analyse the opening weekend collections of Fighter, 33% of the film’s overall business came in on Republic Day, while on other days the collections remained plateaued with hardly any steep growth. All in all, on Monday, the mass circuits viz. Rajasthan & Gujarat failed to fire failing to take off. Thanks to this staggering drop the prospects of Fighter which has collected Rs. 123.60 cr. till date is unlikely to enter the highly coveted Rs. 200 cr club. However, despite writing on the wall, certain predictions state that Fighter could crawl its way past the Rs. 200 cr. mark.

Some of the recent movies with more than 70% drop on Monday when compared to its first Friday include Adipurush (78.61%), Tejas (74.17%), Kuttey (70%), Bachchhan Paandey (74.57%) and Shamshera (72.68%).

CBFC Chairperson Prasoon Joshi will watch OMG Oh My God 2 today, after the Akshay Kumar film was referred to the Revising Committee.

The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has caused a minor setback for the upcoming Akshay Kumar movie, OMG Oh My God 2, according to Bollywood Hungama's report from last week. The film was referred to the Revising Committee (RC) by the CBFC's Examining Committee (EC). According to reports, the committee decided to take this action because OMG Oh My God 2 addresses religious issues and they wanted to make sure it didn't offend anyone. According to rumours, the CBFC is overly cautious about these movies because they were criticised for passing Adipurush without any cuts, despite the fact that its dialogue and scenes caused a stir.

As of right now, Monday, July 17, is the day of the Revising Committee's screening, according to information only available to Bollywood Hungama. The CBFC's chairperson, Prasoon Joshi, will attend this screening.
