#marchmeethemaker #day20 - Marketing As far as I'm concerned, marketing for Tasty Bakes has always been about making a connection with people, making sure people know what I can do and how I can do it. And, of course, feeding them deliciousness! I know you need to do the whole website, have social media presence, blah blah, but mostly I find my orders come via word of mouth and connections, people that you talk to, people that you listen to. I had one future bride give me a hug right before ordering her cake and said I was the first cake maker she had spoken to that actually listened and cared about what she wanted, and that was worth so much to her. So I'll just keep on keeping on, doing the best I can, moving onwards and upwards and past this bloody virus, making these days pass a bit better by way of yumminess. #marchmeetthemaker #day21 - Change One of the biggest changes in my life was moving from the UK to Australia, almost 6 years ago now. People said "why would you move there?" and we said "why wouldn't we??" We had the chance to do so - life being too short to not grab new opportunities to bring better futures to our family. We said if we weren't happy we would simply move back to the UK. And... We have been VERY lucky and are happy as 🐖💩 🤣 We've found work and friends, the kids have settled well into schools and made friends, and we live a beautiful house with plenty of space for me to grow my Tasty Bakes empire 😜 We live in a beautiful village with an awesome market, some amazing coffee shops and our beloved netball club. We're near the beaches, the hills, and the city - it's perfection! So - the biggest Tasty Bakes change I've had to contend with is my chocolatier work!
