It's been a long four years since I've been on stage, but I've grown a little human who's about to head off to kindergarten (although we're not quite ready for weaning yet, so nighttime gigs are still off the table for a while longer). I've also been working away in the studio for the past year on a choreography qualification (thanks to the incredible team at Circobats for your constant support and encouragement, and for letting me wiggle in your studio to get my assignments done while Little B learn to juggle and hang from a trapeze!) that I should be done with after one more year. And, I've also been building (at an excruciatingly slow pace, because of all of the above) a brand new website, with its own in-built community, course platform, and resource collection. Within the next few months I'll be launching my first online choreography course, with another one or two due out by the end of the year. I'm putting the feelers out to teach some in-person workshops from term two this year, so if you'd like me to come and take you through some ideas to introduce you or your students to choreographing, or to shake up the approaches you already have, I'm definitely keen!

Back at Gluttony, Riot City Wrestling returns with the spectacle with SUPERCLASH V at the 2023 Adelaide Fringe.
I didn't think I'd be able to get out to the festival this year with everything that's been going on lately. But a last-minute change of plans allowed for it and so I took my camera with me as it had been quite a while since I'd seen folks hit each other.
I am not affiliated with Riot City Wrestling. This montage/highlights video is done for fun and as a fan.
FULL SHOW (on their channel)

My Adelaide Fringe Diary 2023
Day 1 = Flight and Slow Rumba By exactly 11.18am I’d made it through security at Melbourne Airport and was seated sipping a skinny cappuccino, waiting for my flight to Adelaide. The purpose of my trip to the city of churches is to check out the Adelaide Fringe Festival. I’m an Adelaide Fringe virgin and probably the oldest artist contemplating taking a show there in 2024. My play, Ghost Story,…

Adelaide Fringe Review: Angellis Taliuu: Duotheism – A Dark Sound Bath – The Lab, 2023
It was a wonderful show to watch the audience as most drifted into meditative states, allowing the perfectly harmonious sound and the immersion of the 360 imagery that drifted between tense and calm.
A place of calm, and thoughtfulness in a month filled with loud shows, colours and noises. Angellis Taliuu slows his audience down for an hour of immersion in ‘solfeggio’ frequencies which are said to offer a range of physical and mental health benefits, helping to synchronise brain waves to bring about a deep state of relaxation. The pairing of Angellis Taliuu and The Lab was a perfect match…

Queen Adelaide’s Fringe Necklace
Tumblr media
In 1831, King William IV, uncle of Queen Victoria, commissioned Rundell and Bridge to make a necklace for his wife, Queen Adelaide.
At 46cm in length, the necklace was made up of of 133 sections, consisting a total of 1,456 stones, which had been taken out of redundant pieces of jewellery owned by King George III and Queen Charlotte.
Upon the death of her husband, Adelaide gave the necklace to the new monarch, Queen Victoria.
On 15th November 1837, Victoria wore the necklace, which she had created into a tiara, to one of her first visits to the theatre as Queen.
Tumblr media
In the 1858 inventory of jewels, the necklace was recorded to be considered a heirloom of the Crown.
Tumblr media
Elizabeth, the Queen Mother had the fringe remade into a necklace, adding a "concealed snap". Although her husband died in 1952, Elizabeth was allowed to keep the necklaces along with other pieces of jewellery. However, after her death in 2002, they were returned to the crown.
Unfortunately Queen Elizabeth Il never wore the necklace publicly.

Review. 'Appraisal' at Theatre At The Tabard. (Part Deux!)
Rating: 🍷🍷🍷🍷 and a Vodka! The London Premiere of a tense, relatable, British thriller. Theatre At The Tabard, 2 Bath Road, Chiswick, London W4 1LW There’s a kind of genius with this new, award-winning play, written and directed – and here performed – by Fringe stalwart, Tim Marriott.  And, full disclosure, not only do I now know all those involved with this production, I saw the WORLD premiere…
