Inspired by Frechheit, the absolutely brilliant fic (cough novel cough) by @additiva. I don't think I did it justice at all, but I had to try.

right where you belong by @amarynas — right where you belong… in max’s arms, Charles. no, but seriously so cute and fluffy with a bunch of angst. Max and Charles deserve to be happy and they get that in this fic and the companion fic 👀

grapefruit mignonette by @slapshots on ao3 (idk if they have tumblr) — named after the food Max makes per suggestion by Charles. he later lists it in his menu “love notes” under “first sight” and my heart squeezed in my chest. also deliously filthy. need i say more? one of the first fics I read in this fandom and I still reread constantly when I want to get my dose of chef max hehe

frechheit by @additiva — I actually love fic titles in other languages and this word literally means cheekiness which Charles is the cheekiest mf alive in this fic. one of my fav fics and I highly suggest it bc AH slightly older max? they're both hissy bitches and I love them.

long live (the walls we crashed through) by @fabbyf1 — taylor swift lyric and one thing you might not know about me is that I fuck heavily with my girl tay tay. also this song is so f1 coded so there’s that. anyways, childhood friends to lovers anyone??? love the rewriting of the narrative. God knew they’d be too strong as friends and made them rivals instead. but this fic? this fic tells the story of them growing up as friends beautifully and how they fall in love.

Homeward Bound by @f1-giuki: this fic is just home to me. i've gushed to gi enough times about this for them to get tired of me, but it will never stop me cause oh god this fic has my entire heart. i've cried with it, laughed with it and cursed it (sorry gi) but i won't ever ever get tired of it. every time i think of this fic, i wanna hold it close to my chest and sob bc it genuinely moved something in me (i want to marry it)

Frechheit by @additiva: this title is just so... cheeky (so original i know). the fic is so perfect and frechheit lestappen (and charles and max individually) are so so beloved to me.

I'll Be Right Beside You by @fabbyf1 : this fic is just... oh god. One of the very few fics I've read enough times to quote lines from it and still not get tired of it. my heart comes up to my throat every time i read it and it's a love letter to so many things, its beyond fucking beautiful. i also ADORE the song "Beside You" by Marianas Trench despite it being so different from what i usually listen to so <3 (I um opened the fic to link it to this post and i uh started reading it again).

La Rentree by @toppamplemousse: funny story bc the only french words i know are the words frequented by charles in the fics i read so i read 'la rentree' and thought it meant some sophisticated shit, but then i read it, laughed for five minutes, melted into a puddle for another five, hosted a pity-party for logan (oops spoilers but not really) and then googled what the title means and then laughed at MYSELF for another five minutes (im my biggest bully) so yeah... love this to smithereens.

Your Heart, Love (Has Such Darkness) by @creabirds: this fic is in a league of its own and is the holy grail of fics with morally ambiguous mcs to me. i cried and laughed with this fic and just… wow. it's so out of this world and put me through SO much and just... mended me in the end and- yeah. wanna hold it gently in my hands forever.

secondly my recommendation list would be like 100+ fics so to make life easier for everyone i'll just recommend 5 for now.

this is in no particular order and in the future i can do more! (because there are soooo many more that i already know i missed here)

1. set my midnight sorrow free - this whole series is amazing. i love the first part in particular. seeing lestappen shenanigans from an outsider pov was just chefs kiss!

2. breeding grounds by @charlescoded - this honestly started my chussy obsession and i'm not even mad. second part is just as hot !

3. Frechheit by @additiva - do i even need to say more? this is a cult lestappen fic now and everyone just needs to read it.

4. eat them alive by @drivestraight - the only non lestappen fic but GOD i've become a changed human after reading this. its that good !!!

5. the burning from within by @breathofnyx - the first part is wonderful too but the second part is just ahdsklf. im so weak for max's reaction to the baby. i just squeal everytime i re-read this (because i have. of course. re-read this about ten times)

Younger Charles Leclerc is a mastermind

Freccheit by @additiva has permanent residence in my brain. So here's a part 2 to my first Freccheit inspired edit. <3

Editing for age difference is so haaaard! But I wanted to give it another try. <3

Last time I went for angst, so this time its like they're getting their happy ending.

Charles is only cryptic and Machiavellian (had to google the spelling) because he cares so much about the way the public perceives him and his place in Ferrari so he has to be very careful with the way he acts.

Let's pretend that the FIA awards clips are from Charles getting announced as the F3 champion and Max hearing his name for the first time (or so he remembers).

From the the very start, nothing was going to stop Charles from reaching his dreams of being a WDC. Not even being in a relationship with Max.

Then we have the wild journey they go on in Freccheit with Charles being a menace, doing things his way, challenging Max (that energy was better captured in the other edit). But Max understands him. He knows that Charles is a mastermind (and insane). Then they're older (or well Charles is lol) and living their happily ever after. Max is just happy to be his and have Charles as his own.

*Sniffs* Oh no, I think I have to read Freccheit again now. As should you if you've read this far and you haven't read Freccheit yet. This is your sign.
