Been playing with a canon divergence au in my spare time where Gale and John meet when they’re children in Manitowoc. Gale is five and John is eight.

John names Gale ‘Buck’ and Gale follows this older boy around like a shadow because his home life is garbage and John is so cool. John loves it. He teaches him everything, fusses endlessly over Buck’s ratty clothes and his bruises and how small he is. They’re inseparable.

They’re best friends for a couple of years (maybe 3-4), but one day, Gale’s dad gets in trouble with some bad people (gambling, etc) and he packs up his son and his wife in the middle of the night and takes off for Wyoming.

John is devastated and with the time period, has no way of ever finding this sweet little boy again. But they think about each other all the time.

And then, a decade and half later, Gale walks into his assigned room at flight school and John sees him and its butterflies and happiness and disbelief and “you remind me of my old friend Buck from Manitowoc”.

“Triforce Heroes Doppel stuff” ? :))

Ahhh yep. Haven’t touched this one in a while.

I have this silly theory that the doppels are actually somehow the original tri force heroes that were cursed into doppels (or had their souls sealed somehow, or... something. I’m still figuring out the details) so Hytopia would always have protectors or something like that.

But the wip is basically their backstories (I have many headcanons lol), and them somehow being freed, and dealing with the fact that they were stuck as doppels for a... really long time. It’s rough. But they do adjust, it just takes a while.

“Hey, it’s your turn to talk about yourself, I don’t know a thing about you,” Link said with a quirked brow. “Who are you? Who’s your friend? And how’d this happen?”

The former red doppel straightened, and a glint of pride appeared in his eyes. “My name is Redmond, knight of Hytopia and one of the Tri Force Heroes. This is Cobalt, my brother, he’s a knight as well.”

His eyes narrowed. “And we were cursed into doppels against our will.”

Link stared at him in disbelief.

“Y-you’re one of the Tri Force Heroes? Like, the originals?” he squeaked.

Redmond frowned. “What do you mean ‘originals’?”

Link was about to answer when he heard footsteps behind him. He turned around and met the gazes of Blue and Red, who were standing in the doorway looking at Redmond and Cobalt in shock.

“Green...” Blue said slowly. “...what did you do.”

Link scratched the back of his head. “Um... read a bunch of books and realized there’s more to the doppels then just being empty husks so I found this other book and I freed the doppels because it turns out they’re actually the original Tri Force Heroes who were cursed against their wills?”

“Oh, okay,” Red said while yawning.

Indeed, I've got just some dialogue for this one. It's a Twilight, Sky and Warriors fic. Where Warriors get to teach Twilight about using the flames of Din.

(A little related to unravelling/ metamorphosis so i can't give much more than that at this stage. But I'm pretty excited about it.)

Yes. It is the newest in the bunch and is a Sky-centric angst fic. My WIP title for it is called Who Watches the Watcher.

Here's a snippet for you.

One, two three four. The steady counting of his feet as the march continued ever onward. One two three four. The steady beating of his heart as they moved through the forests of Warriors’s time. One two three four

The steady count inside his mind, forced him ever onward. One two three… “How long do we have to go anyway?” Wind’s voice sounded over the gentle chatter of the crowd of his brothers. The sailor bound to the front of the group of heroes to be beside the one clad in gold. The sounds of their voices… “Not long, I can see a hill I want to be on top of before nightfall. Then we set up camp there. But If memory serves we’ve got an old campsite nearby that’s manned, we won't make it before nightfall but if you guys are okay with walking in the dark.” He was… So Tired.
