i wanna be clear i came to bat for kikos, i feel that spiritually they are among the most neopets of all time.
but we took into consideration the average neopian's opinion of them, and we felt like a normie neopian just can't appreciate the raw power of Ball
#also to be clear we all love the ogrin but fundimentally they are a Weird Design#weird (good)#all neopets have fantastic designs and are Good. except for koi#thats just a fish dude#we had a long debate over this and came to the conclusion that we had to also factor in like raw abstraction#like you can make a weird as fuck aisha but itll still register as an aisha#but if you make a weird as fuck koi? or a really cool one? then thats Just A Fish#they dont really have much going for them in the standout design department#meercas are in the same category only because nobody in the call had anything nice to say about them as converted pets#they were done dirty by the conversion man#adendum: just in that koi is just a fish#nimmo is just a frog#but what makes the nimmo so much worse is that the quiggle is superior in every possible way by being just a funny little guy#i think the nimmos site art is really what kills it bc the idea of just. a tall frog? inherently funny and good#but the fucked up squat position they got these guys in. wow its so bad#addendum to the addendum: all the controversial mascots are controversial for different reasons#thats why their placement on the list isnt necessarily an indication of their relative goodness#like poogles RULE but nobody can decide exactly what they are and ppl get HEATED abt that
