Stray Fluff
This is part 2. Part 1 is here. If you have any ideas or want to be included in the Taglist, leave a comment or send me a request. In this fic you are a dog, 100% canine, not a human. Enjoy.
“Pffah!” Johnny spat as he fruitlessly held out his arms for cover, and turned his head away while you shook your fur once again. The soap went everywhere including Johnny’s face, getting a bit in his mouth. Kyle shielded himself as well, as you wagged your tail unaware of their displeasure.
“Maybe we should call you trouble.” Kyle suggested, looking right at you. You just panted happily. Kyle couldn't stay mad at that face.
“Don’t name it Gaz ya’ll just get attached.” Johnny said, grumpily.
“The dog isn’t going much of anywhere mate. They’re staying here until we get a transfer sorted for them.” Gaz reminded him.
“Alright get over here mutt.” Soap commands. You obey, but not how he wanted. You walked over to him for another round of shampoo, and jumped up to lick his face, getting him even more soaked and drenched than before. Kyle was sympathetic enough to pull you off of Johnny who was getting fed up with your antics.
Price was still on video call with Laswell trying to figure out what can be done about the poor dog. Meanwhile Laswell was still trying to figure out how to deal with a dog and getting it safely off the base.
“And it stole a ration?” She asked.
“A potato yes. Soap was very adamant.” Price said, with a hint of sarcasm behind his statement.
“Hmm…” Laswell said before starting to mutter over the video call.
“You’re breaking up watcher.” Price commented.
"The dog is from an animal testing facility. Beauty products most likely." Kate exclaimed.
"Dog doesn't show any signs of testing, at least none that I've noticed." Price pointed out.
“There’s a stamp on the collar with a few numbers and a small logo but I can't make out what the logo is. This is very strange, John."
“Tell that to my sergeants currently giving the mutt a flea bath." Price commented. There was a small chuckle from Laswell.
“You’ll be the first to know if anything else comes up. Call it a fixation, but I'm going to do more digging, for now the dog will have to stay with on base.” Laswell said.
"Ghost is already out getting some extra supplies." Price said, guessing this would happen.
"I'll let you know what I find. Watcher out." Laswell said before signing off. Price sat back in his seat sighing. The Dog would stay until they figured out where it came from or a shelter could take it.
Price stood up and headed outside. As soon as he opened the door though, you slipped in, covered in shampoo and water. Price got out of the just in time to keep Johnny and Kyle from running into him. You’re around the corner of the hall in mere seconds with the two sergeants hot on your tail. Price just stood there and shaking his head in disbelief. Simon was standing next to him in a couple of minutes seeing the captain’s wet leg from you rubbing against him, and the remaining trail of puddles. He looked at his captain.
“What do we do with the dog?” He asked. Price looked back at his lieutenant and down the hall again, with neither you nor the sergeants in sight.
Each of the 141 came up with their own ideas. Or sometimes you were the one who came up with the idea.
Kyle would use his off time to give you attention. Didn't take long for it to become a bit of a routine and one you picked up on, finding him somewhere on base just finishing up, poking your head in and wagging your tail. It became a highlight of his day, and yours, as you got plenty of scratches and even belly rubs. Kyle enjoyed it for the chance to be active in a more positive sense. Work could be tiring for him, and he wouldn’t always go outside and throw something for you, but he welcomed snuggles on his bunk. Sometimes you would help with his work, actually listening to his instructions when you're ordered to drop it.
At one point Kyle decided to teach you some basic commands and even had a K9 unit and trainer join to help you learn as well. Yeah uh... you kept getting him tangled in the leash, and more than once you fell off whatever makeshift ramps and platforms they made. You did learn how to sit, stay, and go with leash tugs and spoken word. The K9 trainer would look after you whenever Kyle and the rest of the 141 had to leave to go on missions. You would often spend your days waiting on Kyle's bed for him to return. Anytime you overheard a chopper or jeep you would spring off the bed, barking excitedly until you got outside, standing and waiting to see if they had returned safely.
For the most part, you followed Johnny around while he was working out or doing other stuff on base. He found you a bit of a nuisance. If he didn't give you attention even when you were being so well-behaved, you would nip at his hand or leg. This led to him giving you attention, but it was usually just to chase you off. At one point though while he was working out he started doing sit-ups. You went over to him and sat at his feet before putting your paws on his knees. Your happy face stopped him before he got his first sit making him chuckle. After you helped him with sit-ups you made his push-ups more of a challenge, laying on his back. Johnny was able to distract you with a ball, but you two become more comfortable with each other. Eventually, he’s taking you with him to go running, using a leash to keep you from running too far ahead. You’re still a kind-hearted menace though, taking any food he leaves in reach of your mouth.
Simon found you very helpful. You’re a dog, and he could talk to you when he needed it. On occasion, he finds you sleeping in his bed, sometimes on his chest. You are not unwelcomed. Often you are discovered after he wakes up, sometimes from nightmares. You wake with him, and with you on top of him, you ground him.
“Good dog.” He muttered one night in a cold sweat. You stared at him in the dark and then felt his rough calloused hands massaging your ears. He found you soothing, even when you’re just hiding under the table waiting for something to drop. Simon doesn’t bother sneaking food, he straight up slips it to under the table.
Price didn't know what to make of you for the first week or so. You’re not like most stray dogs that tend to be frightened of humans. You’re curious and you openly show that curiosity. Price is often writing reports and doing paperwork so you’ll try to distract him, by getting a ball or stick. You get a ball and start begging for him to play with you. He has to focus on his work and he expresses this to you multiple times. Then you would see if you could get him to see the toy. He would scold you, and wrestle with you to get off his lap or desk.
Price sighed as one such wrestle led to the ball falling and bouncing away for you to chase. Then he noticed the time. Thinking for a moment he did need to take a break.
“Outside?” He asked you. You looked at him with the ball in your mouth, tilting your head. He asked again. “Outside?”
You wagged your tail as he got up, stretching and feeling his back crack before he took you outside. He was able to track down a large pillow, which was left by his desk for you to relax on so you could nap while you waited for him to finish. After that, if he ever has to step out of his office for drills or anything you’re walking right next to him, toy in mouth. You sit anytime he addresses the soldiers, at attention with the toy still in your mouth. If you couldn't be found on Kyle's bunk when the 141 were away, you could be found waiting on the pillow.
One day Laswell and Nikolai come by. Laswell was there to talk to Price and go over some intel, Nikolai came along as her ride (and to meet you). Kyle had you on a leash and you sat patiently. Laswell was somewhat impressed, seeing as your first story involved you getting into trouble.
“Captain.” Laswell said, shaking the captain’s hand, and then Kyle’s. “Sergeant.”
You gave a soft and polite woof, shifting your two front paws. Laswell couldn’t help but offer a hand for you to sniff. You sniffed it and then offered your own paw to shake which she accepts. None of them had seen you do that before. Nikolai is chuckling.
“Good dog. Knows manners better than most.” Nikolai commented.
“Take it no one has any ideas where the dog came from?” Kyle asked. Laswell shook her head. They all walked bavk inside and you retrived a ball as soon as Kyle got you off the leash. Johnny was close by, along with Simon intent to listen to Laswell’s intel. You took your toy to Laswell and basically sat on her feet staring up with puppy dog eyes. Johnny is snickering while Nikolai is laughing. Laswell looked back down at you while you wait for her to take the toy.
“John could you call them off?” Laswell asked the captain. Then she saw the grin on his face.
“‘fraid there’s only one way for that Laswell.” Johnny exclaimed. Laswell gave him a look that had him avoiding eye contact. You continued wagging your tail waiting for her to accept your gift. Laswell gave in and took the toy. She held it up for you to see before tossing it. You sprung after it quickly and picked it up again, this time bringing it to Nikolai. Nik wasted no time, playing with you, and even doing fake throws. Every time you returned it to him, he gave you plenty of praise and pets. This goes on for a short bit before Laswell can convince the rest of the team to go into a room to start the briefing. You follow the team inside where you're kept occupied by Nikolai.
While Laswell went over the meeting Johnny noticed you out of the corner of your eye and bites his tongue. To his surprise, you sat politely and listened to Laswell as she went over the intel she had brought with her.
Then Laswell brought you up in her intel, making you tilt your head. “Your canine may not be a simple stray.”
Laswell tapped the tablet and the view of the map moved and highlighted a specific location. A factory of some kind. “As suspected they were being used for animal testing. What they were testing was a serum. One that has yet to work without killing the subject.”
“They want to use this on humans?” Simon questioned, thinking this was starting to sound like a plot to a cheesy action movie. If Laswell brought up “super soldiers” he would’ve walked out or called bluff.
“No.” Laswell said. “They’re using it on animals.”

Whats everyone's animal symbolism again and does it change in any stories?
oh they don’t quite have symbolism exactly ? that’s sorta tr [tempus fugit/repetit]-specific BUT I can do dog vs. catcoded. it’s kinda like sun vs. moon
Cecil: dogcoded bc. loyal. and obeys commands. and choke collar (but he still insists he’s a catgirl)
Mark: catcoded but like in the Big Cat sorta way. can Kill You but also. loaf
Adam: catcoded bc he’s a lil chaosmonger
Jonah: dogcoded, loyal til the end
Lynn (Evelynn): catcoded cause she’s just. chill. lowkey immune to the Horrors
Joan: dogcoded but like the dog who likes a total of like three people and if you aren’t one of them she will Bite You
Bob: catcoded I think ?? but like that one really friendly affectionate nice cat that everyone has owned
Graham: dogcoded. he has fleas.
Birdie: she’s a sheep but she has dog energy. we love Birdie

I fucking hate working the pet department at work. Real conversation I JUST had
Customer A: *looking through flea collars*
Me: I can tell you that Hartz brand has bad reviews (always desperate to get people to stop using Hartz)
C: Yeah I had bad reactions, my dog got hot spots
Me: yeah that's a problem that can happen with the cheap brands because of the chemicals they use. I do know Nextstar, Advantage and Frontline have really good reviews. I use Frontline for all my pets but these (cheaper brands) work-
C: NO! No drops! I used (Hartz) and it burned his skin! Never drops.
Me: well, yes Hartz will do that but thi-
C: I've used everything, nothing works! I've used (Hartz) drops and (Adams) pills, this is the third thing I've tried! *grabs an Adams collar* Never drops! They're horrible for animals!
Me: *dying inside knowing these poor dogs are going to suffer and their owner is an idiot*

Intercrurral prompt: Billy’s been harassing Steve all year, and it’s taking everything Steve has not to think bisexual thoughts about the guy he HATES. But one night, wrong place and wrong time, where they run into each other in the woods while Steve is on demodog patrol and Billy is escaping a bad run-in with Neil. Things boil over - the biggest imagery I have is Billy harshly whispering in Steve’s ear “Tell me you want this. TELL me you want ME.”
I know there has been a couple~~ intercrurral prompts~~ but hey man if it fits nicely why not buy it in every color?? Thank you for sending it in!!! Werewolf Billy and human Steve rough sex and bad attempts at dirty talk🖤
***
Billy was dripping; dripping with sweat, dripping with rage, dripping with blood. He was trickling it all down his fingertips and the button bridge of his nose to drop in fat drips to the grass underfoot. Stumbling through the forest aimlessly, searching for nothing but a hiding spot to lick his wounds. To tuck his tail between his legs and whimper like the dog he is.
Like the dog his father makes him feel.
The full moon is out this night and it makes Billy want to howl, instead he grinds his teeth and pushes forward.
The forests of Hawkins are quiet, always so fucking quiet, so much different from the way California sang with noise all hours of the night. Clubs blasting music, people screaming outside on the sidewalk, police sirens starting up and flicking off just as fast. Billy missed the noise. The hiding place it created. Now he had only an empty forest.
Until it wasn’t empty. Billy’s head swung around with the sound of bones cracking. He knew that noise, as much as he shouldn’t admit it. But he knew it.
Like a hound to fox blood, he follows his nose to the noise. Sniffs through the rotten underbrush of fallen Indiana leaves to find it. He stumbles out into a small clearing, if he can even call it that. Just a shallow hill covered with leaves and dirt and maybe ten feet between the trees on the other side.
Right in the middle, lit with the bluish glow of the moon, and framed with the movement of a baseball bat swinging in one of his hands, Steve Harrington stands.
He spins the bat again. A strand of something comes off of it in an arch, a wave similar to blood, but dripping clear and slimy like mucus. Billy has his mouth open watching it, Steve had his mouth open as well. They both watched, they both waited.
Billy turned his lip up in a growl. “Harrington,” he rasped. Not sure what he was saying, why he was, just wanted to get his claws sharpened on bones. Someone’s bones. His father’s bones. Steve’s bones.
All year long Billy has been barking up Steve’s tree. In the school hallways, shirtless at basketball practice, in the parking lot of the Palace Arcade. Billy was there, flashing his teeth with something to prove. Steve always blew him off, shoved as if he was bored. A child pushing a toy away he had become disinterested in.
But Billy could feel. He could taste the blood in the air of the full moon. Steve wasn’t disinterested. He was ripping, and cracking, and running around the woods in the middle of the night just like Billy was.
Billy knew he was different Steve Harrington wasn’t like the others, he held a secret, and the strength to maintain that secret. He wasn’t as disinterested as he let on. Billy’s wolf bristled.
“Hargrove,” Steve said back. Swallowed around his last name. Slipping his bat to hang slightly behind his body as if to hide it.
“What are you doing out here so late, Pretty boy? Ain’t exactly a safe meadow for a Bambi like you to be prancing through-,”
“God, why can’t you ever talk normal, not like a jerk all the time?” Steve takes his bat and hauls it over his shoulder, swings it hard and mean into the tree in front of him. There’s nails sticking out of all sides. Lets the force of the hit hold onto the bark, lets it so that Steve can release the handle and the bat remains stuck there.
Billy’s watching, impressed, as more mucus drips down over the nails.
“What are you doing here, Hargrove?” Steve asks point blank. He’s got a scrape on his chin.
Billy’s got a gash on his eyebrow that’s curling blood over his cheek and down his face, dropping off his chin drip by drip. He shrugs, glances around like he can’t be bothered.
“These woods aren’t safe,” Steve says, “you shouldn’t be walking alone,” and for the first time Billy noticed how his chest is heaving with the effort. How his hands are shaky. How there’s a red blush creeping over his high cheek bones that isn’t simply from the stuffy Indiana forest.
“I was running away from home before I got so rudely interrupted,” Billy says with an air of blasé, taking a step forward into the clearing, out from the darkness of the trees, pointing towards his eyebrow.
Steve’s wide brown eyes get even wider, he takes a step forward towards Billy. Reaching up with one hand to hover over the cut.
Fingertips press softly to flayed skin, as if asking permission, as if their touch alone could heal the pain. “Holy shit,” Steve whispers. Like he’s never seen a cut before. And Billy has to struggle to keep his eyes open.
“These woods ain’t safe, huh?” Billy says as he lifts one hand and curls it over Steve’s wrist. The bones feel thin in his fat fingers. He squeezes just to feel them shift.
“Ain’t safe from what, Harrington?” He asks in a mean voice.
Steve stays quiet, so he shoves the other boy hard. Walks him with another shove and then another until Steve presses up against a tree. His body rolling against the bark, his head laying to rest against it. Tilting his chin up, making his wild hair bounce, reveling his neck naked and bare under Billy’s jaws.
Their heavy breathing is in sync. Billy’s thinking about basket ball; about the way he shoves and pushes Steve around just to touch him. About the way it’s been months of bruises caused by pulling pigtails and Steve’s never said ‘stop’. Never in so many words.
If he would only say ‘stop’, Billy would. He isn’t a monster. He’s just a wolf, a flea bitten dog, sniffing and howling and watering at the mouth for the chase. For the chase.
Steve’s breathing heavy enough to make the veins in his slender neck protrude. His Adam’s apple bobbing up and down. Billy watches the motion. Licks his lips.
“Ain’t safe, from what?” He asks again.
Steve breaths out and it’s a cloud of smoke into the night. “Billy,” he answers, “you talk too much.”
The full moon crescendos in Billy’s eyes, blocking their color out to only white, as he rushes forward to bite his teeth into Steve’s exposed neck.
He doesn’t bite to break skin, just sinks his teeth enough he knows he’s painting the pale skin purple. Marking watercolors that spiral and bleed into dark rain clouds of tones. All caused by Billy, all marking Steve as his.
“Billy,” Steve whimpers out. The motion makes his neck flex in Billy’s mouth. His hands lift up to cradle against the wild curls on the back of Billy’s head. Hold there softly, gently, like they’re kissing.
“Billy,” he chants.
“Billy,” he begs.
Flesh leaves his mouth in a hard squelching pop, already turning all the colors he wished it would. Billy wraps his arms around Steve’s waist, pulls him flush to his body and nuzzles his nose into the space of his neck and shoulder. He scents him, rubbing into Steve as much as he can. The blood on his brow and face only a passing thought as he rubs across Steve’s skin. Rubs until he changes the scent to something closer to his own.
“Gonna mark this pretty skin,” Billy hears himself growling from a distance, not his own body right there. But somewhere behind his wolf. “Gonna lay claim, mine,” he laps up Steve’s neck. His collar bones. Can taste his sweat and Billy’s own blood on his pale skin. Can taste something stranger than anything he’s tasted before and he licks at that hard, gets Steve clean of it.
“Mine.”
Gets Steve whimpering for him, weak in his knees and shivering limp against the tree. Billy’s arms the only thing holding him up.
Then they aren’t, Billy pulls Steve away from the tree just to turn him in the cage of his arms and push Steve down to kneel in the dirt. The grass leaving marks on his tight jeans. Leaves getting pushed away in a wild scramble for purchase on the filthy ground. Steve finds the base of the tree and braces against it, digging his human fingers into the roughness feveriously.
Whimpering the whole time.
“Billy,” he groans out, arching his back and letting his head drop between his shoulders.
Billy slides his fat fingers down the ladder of Steve’s ribs. Feels them protrude and flex under his shirt with every hard breath. Billy wants to let his claws rip from his skin and drag the flesh from bone, carve his name into Steve’s ribs.
He hikes up Steve’s ugly polo shirt and kisses along the bumps of his spine one by one. Messy, open, wet, all the way down to the leather of his belt.
“Wha- what, ahh, happened to your face?” Steve works the words out hard as Billy licks around the small of his back.
“Why ya wanna know?” Billy talks so his chin hits Steve’s skin.
Steve struggles to turn over his shoulder, meets Billy’s eyes. The wolf in them taking all the blue and leaving only a ghostly white. Steve’s breath hitches. He smells afraid, but he doesn’t let it show much. “Tell me,” he orders.
And he’s not the one to be making demands, bent over in front of a wolf on a full moon, his scent sticky with the honeyed sweetness of lust Billy won’t be able to get off his fur long into next month. But he does, he keeps his eyes on Billy. Inside his head Billy’s mind screams useless words like ‘mate’ and ‘love’, he shoved them down. Growls long and low.
“My father,” Billy mutters angerly into the wet skin of Steve’s hips. Says against his better judgement.
Steve whimpers again, breaks their eye contact to pathetically face the ground. As if he has something to be ashamed of, something to apologize for. The words ‘I’m sorry’ rumble in the night, but before he has a chance to say them Billy’s interrupting him.
“You tell me something, now,” Billy growls. Each word hard with his wolf growing stronger each second. “Tell me this is something you want, tell me you want this,” he demands.
“Billy,” Steve begs, his hips tremble. He rocks his hips, arching his back and pushing his shapely ass back into Billy’s hardening cock. Tries to show without saying, but that’s all they’ve been doing. Showing and not telling.
Billy needs to know. He needs the words.
“Tell me you want me?” Billy begs, flexing his hands into the plump flesh of Steve’s hips. Wishing he would flex his claws.
“I want you,” Steve admits in a curling groan. His voice wavering music box pretty. “I’ve wanted you for so long, Billy. I feel like I’ve gone crazy with it.” His voice sharp besides the lust apparent on it.
“Take responsibility,” Steve demands.
Inside his mind Billy lets his head tilt back and howl, his throat ripping with the sound. In the forest he buries all that into another kiss on Steve’s back. Sucking the skin into his mouth and biting down to leave a mark. Just as he promised.
Billy wraps his hands round to work on the buckle of Steve’s jeans. The metal jingles as it moves, rings out lovely alongside Steve’s moans. Running the zipper down it’s track, and pushing the denim and cotton briefs to slip down to where Steve’s knees are bent in the grass, Billy moans out himself as he finally gets his fingers on those milky thighs.
He trails his hands up, up, those long legs flushed rose blush. Feeling their hair soft under his rough hands. Billy pushes them so Steve’s thighs are together.
“Not tonight,” Billy mutters to himself as he works his cock out his own jeans, “not yet, only this for the night,” he’s warning. Spitting and licking his hand until it’s glistening then wrapping his hand around his shaft. Pumping his cock until it gets cherry red at the tip, biting his lip to keep from calling out.
Any questions swimming in those big brown eyes watching over his shoulder nervously was stopped short as Billy pushed his dripping wet cock between Steve’s thighs. Those strong fingers were back on his hips, almost ripping the skin as they shuffled about for a grasp. His fingers seem to shift and grow as they found purchase, fingernails elongating to leave half crescent moons on Steve’s skin. Leaving marks where ever his wolf could reach.
Billy started moving, letting his body roll with one long and low groan, before dipping his head forward to lean on Steve’s sweaty back.
He thrusted steady, slow, mean at first. Pulling back out so only his mushroom head was nestled between Steve’s thighs. Then pushing back in with a stab. Velvet skin rubbing raw from only spit as lube, but the friction was too good. The heat and the pressure of Steve’s thighs strong from running up and down the court. The same thighs Billy stood between while Steve was splayed out on his back, panting as heavy as he is now, and looking up at him with those doe eyes.
Innocent then, now, Steve’s catching his breath. Moaning just as feral as Billy’s own. Bracing his body as Billy’s thrusts jerk into it with a shoulder against the tree trunk. One hand a fist around his own long cock fully hard and curling over his stomach, dripping wet with pre cum. The other hand going down, down, between his legs to press his sweaty palm to his thighs. Cupping the head of Billy’s dick each time it pushed through again. Petting it. Possessing it. Making Billy preen under the attention.
“Faster,” Steve gasped out. Sounded like he surprised even himself. “Faster, Billy. Fuck me?”
And his voice turned up at the end like a question, his voice getting high pitched, as he buries his head against the rough tree in desperation.
“Steve,” Billy nuzzles his nose into the back of Steve’s neck, stretched taught and begging for it. He licks across the skin as he speaks. “It’s not safe out here- ah,” he breaks off with a hard thrust. His rythum starting to go. His release getting close.
Steve’s hand is quick over his own cock. It makes him thrust, and pant, and work to fuck himself into the tightness. His other hand, the one caressing the tip of Billy’s slick dick, is starting to pool with precum. The white dripping between Steve’s fingers. Smearing across the press of his thighs and making the scene messy, so messy, it felt so good.
“Not safe for you to be alone, can’t- ah, ah,... can’t have anything happen to-,” Billy’s words broke off with another moan, own that split at the seams into a growl. He wanted to talk. To lay down orders and demands, wanted to mark Steve and brag about Steve.
He burrows his head into that mess of brown hair and wildly shouts. Feels himself cum a writhing mess between Steve’s thighs. Ribbons shooting out across those gentle fingers. Whimpering like an injured dog into his soft hair.
Steve preens, his back arching under the heavy weight of Billy above him. He cums into his fist, pumping every drop out. His thighs shiver with the motions, squeezeing Billy’s soft cock even tighter between them. His hand wet with Billy’s cum braces against the tree. Holding them up as they laze.
The moment ages on, the moon curving across the sky. Light trickling between branches of the trees and across Steve’s pale skin.
Billy’s breath catches as he is shaken from his musing, shaken from watching how lovely Steve’s skin looks, by the boy brushing against him. A small tap of knuckles across his cheek.
Billy looks up, his eyes foggy and half open, sees Steve looking back. They pull apart just enough for Steve to wiggle his jeans back up. Cum trapped in the tight denim, fingerprints of white staining the fabric forever. That left a special possessive feeling in Billy’s chest. Made him smile as he watches Steve collect himself.
His eyes must still be white, Billy muses, it’s the wolf in him trying to pierce through while he’s weak under the moon. He’s used to it, able to hold off the transformation for now, but the appearance must make Steve uncomfortable.
Billy groans, rocks back on his ass to get comfortable as he can on the dirt of the forest floor, and turns to Steve to explain.
But Steve is watching him wide eyed. Those huge brown eyes perfectly round and sparkling as they examine not his face or his spent cock, but the top of Billy’s head.
Billy’s hands move slowly upwards, past his unruly curls to feel. He’s got a dread in his mind at what he mind find. It’s not less embarrassing when his fingers finally meet and curl around one of his fluffy ears.
Mid transformation, the eyes are not unnormal. The sex craze, the drool, these are not unnormal. Dishwater blond hair sprouting down his arms, over the back of his hands, and across his forehead is not unnormal. Billy winces as he remembers that his ears shifting first, is very not unnormal.
He growls low in his throat, an animalistic sound of annoyance. His teeth now pointed at the canines poke his lips.
Billy wants to turn with his tail between his legs. He blinks, afraid at what he might find, before looking back at Steve.
“Wow. Holy shit,” Steve laughs, and it comes out a little giggle.
Billy knots his thick brows together in confusion, watching dumbly as Steve’s face parts into an adorable smile. “What’s so funny, Harrington?” he mumbles around his large teeth.
“Holy shit,” Steve repeats. “You-,” he cuts himself off with another laugh. Lifting his hands as if his words won’t do him justice and he just has to touch.
Billy flinches away, unused to anyone reaching for him being a good thing. He turns his head and shoulders as if he could burst into a run. But he’s caught by Steve’s hands. Those thin, pretty, gentle fingers, tugging at the top of his ears. They pet his fur back, stroking across the backs of them and then swirling his thumb into the thick patch of hair that covers where they’ve grown from his head. The very sensitive patch of hair, Billy has to fight back a whimper.
Steve’s petting him, a smile on his face. His hand are so warm. Billy feels embarrassed, mortified, as he leans into the touch.
“You’re like the wolfman?” Steve asks, his voice low and jingling with humor.
Billy scoffs at him, “nah, I’m a werewolf!” he snaps.
“So that’s a yes, huh?” Steve flicks his eyes up and down from Billy’s ears twitching with annoyance to his face blushing cherry red.
“Fuck off, Harrington!” Billy growls, bares his teeth to shine bloodthirsty in the moonlight. “I could rip your throat out right now!”
Steve just laughs, runs his hands down through Billy’s wild curls made longer with the transformation and down to his shoulders. He braces himself as he climbs up Billy’s crossed legs. One of his knees on either side, planting his ass square on Billy’s lap.
It makes him shutter, makes him feel like running again, the feeling of Steve’s body curling up with his own. There’s a feral need in him that proves stronger. Billy braces Steve by the waist, wrapping his arms around him to steady him. To hold him close.
Steve leans down to kiss across the exposed sharpness of Billy’s teeth. All his long white fangs lined up ready to bite. Steve kisses them as if he was kissing gently into Billy’s lips.
“You don’t- you aren’t,” he stops growling, relaxing instantly. Billy sounds winded as he speaks. He feels exhausted, worn out from running. “You aren’t afraid?”
Steve brushes one finger across the fur growing on Billy’s cheeks, up around the socket of his eye and across his forehead, then sinks his fingers back into the fur of his ears. His fluffy, perky, wolf ears that just melt under the attention.
“You haven’t scared me off yet, Billy Hargrove. What makes you think you can now?”

Aaron Week Day 5: “You tricked me!”
AO3 link here
Aaron Dingle is not a cat person. He has never been a cat person – give him a happy, energetic dog he can play fetch with any day.
So why won’t this furry little shit leave him alone?
One evening a few weeks ago, he’d been sat in his living room, minding his own business, when he looked up from his NME magazine to see an orange face watching him from his balcony.
Letting out a startled yelp that he was glad no one heard, Aaron had stared at the ginger tabby cat in the doorway. The cat had stared back. Aaron narrowed his eyes. The cat narrowed its eyes right back at him.
Shaking his head, he’d tilted the magazine a little higher so that he blocked his view of the fur ball outside. By the time he’d finished reading it, he lowered the pages to see an empty balcony. The cat was gone. He forgot all about it.
Until the next evening. It had been warmer that night, and Aaron had left the balcony door open for a cooling breeze. He’d been pottering about in the kitchen, making himself some beans on toast, when he heard a quiet “mrow” behind him.
“What the – ”
Aaron had whirled around to see the same ginger tabby – at least he thought it was the same ginger tabby – sitting innocently on the floor behind him.
“What the hell d’you think you’re doing?”
The cat licked a paw primly.
“You don’t live here, get out.”
Nothing.
Aaron sighed, dropping the tins of beans on the counter before gingerly picking the cat up, praying it didn’t have fleas, and putting it out on the balcony. As he quickly slid the door shut behind him, the cat looked at him with an outraged expression on its face.
“I see that collar round your neck, go to your own home!”
Instead the cat rolled to its side, putting on a real show of stretching out languidly and making itself comfortable. Essentially a massive fuck you right to Aaron’s face.
Aaron snorted. “Whatever.”
*
So now he’s got himself in a situation where this ginger nightmare appears on his balcony every day without fail. Always staring at Aaron, giving him grief and trying to mess with his head. It’s a little like having a tiny, fluffy stalker.
The point of no return comes on the day the damn thing learns how to open the sliding balcony door by itself (the lock broke months ago and he hasn’t gotten around to doing anything about it), and Aaron comes out of his bedroom to see it sitting in the kitchen sink. It hisses when Aaron tries to move it, and Aaron very nearly hisses back.
Despite his less-than welcoming attitude, the thing never takes the hint, returning over and over again.
“Why me, eh?” Aaron asks as he scratches the animal behind the ears one day (probably a mistake). “All the flats you could go to in this building, why’s it my doorstep you darken?”
*
Aaron trudges through the entrance to his building one Friday night, shaking rainwater out of his hair. It's been a week of long shifts at the garage where he works, topped off with the day from hell, one stupid customer after another coming through like the place had a revolving door.
Adam texted him earlier, trying to get him to come on a night out, and his mother’s also been trying to get him to come to the village for his tea, but he’s ignoring them both. All he wants to do is get into his flat, collapse on his bed and sleep for at least twelve hours.
As he walks up the stairs to his floor, he hears a familiar arrogant voice coming from above him, and mentally curses. The last thing he wants to do is run into Tall Blond Arsehole right now, but there’s no escape route.
Tall Blond Arsehole had moved into a flat on the floor above Aaron’s a few weeks ago – the penthouse. The first time Aaron had seen him, the bloke had been on his phone and been coming into the building just as Aaron was leaving. He’d been walking at top speed and had bumped Aaron had on the shoulder as they had passed each other.
“Watch where you’re goin’,” Aaron had grumbled, just loud enough for the man to hear him.
The man barely paused, throwing a quick glare over his shoulder and snapping “You watch it, mate.” before returning to his phone conversation and disappearing up the stairs.
They hadn’t spoken since that morning, and that suited Aaron just fine. Tall Blond Arsehole doesn’t seem to talk to anyone in the building, always on that bloody phone yelling at some poor sod named Jimmy, nattering on about contracts, deals and meetings. Nothing more than a boring businessman with an over-inflated sense of his own importance.
(He’s also incredibly fit, but that’s by the by.)
Now, Tall Blond Arsehole comes breezing down the flight of stairs, dressed in one of his usual sharp suits and barely sparing Aaron a glance as he passes by him. Aaron rolls his eyes, before continuing up the stairs and practically falling through the door to his flat.
He shuffles down the hallway to his bedroom, not even stopping to take his hoodie and jeans off before collapsing on top of the covers.
“Mrrrp.”
Aaron’s eyes fly open instantly and he rips the duvet back to reveal a curled up orange ball.
“Are you kidding me?” He shoots the cat an incredulous look. “My bed now?”
The demonic creature just uncurls and glares at him, as if Aaron’s the one who invaded its space, rather than the other way around.
“How did you even – you know what, fuck it. M’too knackered to give a shit. Do whatever you want.”
He slides under the duvet and lets his eyes fall shut. A few moments later, he feels slight movement next to him, and then soft warmth pressing against him. He falls asleep with the cat purring against his chest.
*
He awakes to knocking at the door. Blearily opening his eyes, Aaron realises that it’s much later now, the room pitch black. Too late to move.
Determined to ignore the noise – whatever the hell this person wants will have to wait – he rolls over until his face hits something soft and fluffy.
“Jesus Christ!” He jerks up and fumbles to switch the lamp on, the low light revealing the ginger nightmare still lying in his bed. “Oh God, you’re still here.”
The cat paws at the strings of Aaron’s hoodie, seemingly unconcerned by the fact it had nearly given him a heart attack. The knocking at the door starts up again. It’s louder this time and a quick glance at his phone tells him it’s nearly two o’clock in the bloody morning. For fuck’s sake.
Aaron staggers out into the living room and flings the door opening roughly, ready to tell whoever it is exactly where to go, only to find Tall Blond Arsehole standing in front of him.
He looks different to usual, smart clothes swapped for a soft-looking blue t-shirt and grey pair of jogging bottoms. His hair has lost its neat style, sticking up in all directions as if he’d been running his fingers through it, and instead of looking cocky, his entire being seems to be full of panic and distress.
“Uh… ” The furious words Aaron had been about to bark die on his throat, and he vaguely wonders if he’s still asleep and this is just part of some weird dream.
“Oh… it’s you,” the man says, a hint of awkwardness creeping in his expression.
“Er, yeah. What’s up?”
“Um, I’m sorry, I know it’s really late… ”
“It’s okay,” Aaron finds himself saying without meaning to. Christ, he must be going soft.
“I’m just… I’m looking for my cat. He’s a ginger tabby, has a blue collar and I can’t find him anywhere. Have you seen him by any chance?”
That little fucker.
Aaron grabs the man’s arm and pulls him into the living room.
“Wait here a sec.”
Aaron jogs back to his bedroom and picks up the cat, who rubs its head under his chin (probably thinks it’s getting a cuddle), and returns to the living room.
“Pippin!” Tall Blond Ars – okay, maybe just Tall Blond for now – gasps, taking the cat from Aaron’s arms and cuddling him to his chest. “You absolute demon.”
The cat – Pippin – yowls loudly, its head turning to Aaron with a look he can only identify as betrayal. The damn thing barely reacts when Tall Blond fusses over him happily, stroking his fur with a thumb and pressing relieved kisses to his head.
Tall Blond finally looks up at him with shining eyes, and Aaron swears he feels his heart skip a beat. Shit.
“I’m – God, I’m really sorry. I didn’t know where – I thought he might’ve – ” he rambles quickly, cradling the cat like a baby, and Aaron wonders how long his neighbour has been frantically searching for his pet demon. “I know he likes to go walkabout, but he hasn’t come home in days and… Sorry if he’s been a bother.”
Aaron frowns. “What? Days? No, he was just… oh.” His eyebrows raise in surprise. “He normally just comes and goes, lets himself out. I haven't been home much these last few days, I didn’t realise he’d been staying.”
His gaze drifts down to Pippin, who now looks impossibly smug. “You tricked me, you little stowaway!”
Pippin sneezes unapologetically.
They stand there awkwardly for a moment, before Aaron asks, “Pippin? Cute name. Doesn’t fit him at all.”
Tall Blond's face twitches into a smile. It makes his eyes crinkle in a way that has Aaron’s stomach doing somersaults, and Jesus Christ, how had he not noticed those freckles before?
“Yeah, it’s er… it’s from Lord of the Rings.”
“Oh. Never seen it.”
“You’ve never – ” Tall Blond’s eyes widen, scandalised. “You’re missing out.”
“I’ll take your word for it.”
“Well, thanks for having him over… even if you didn’t know it? And sorry again.”
“S’no bother. At least now I know who to call when he knocks my plants off the windowsill.”
The smile drops off the man’s face and he looks down at Pippin.
“Pip, mate!” He scolds Pippin like he’s a naughty child, and the cat meows back at him angrily. “What the hell, we talked about this!”
It’s ridiculous. This attractive man and his argumentative cat are both ridiculous, and Aaron can’t help laughing slightly hysterically.
“Oh God, I’m sorry. Again. How much do I owe you?”
“Mate, don’t worry about it.” Aaron waves away the man’s protest. “Honestly, I don’t care, they were just some cheap B&Q ones my mum forced me to get. Said my place needed brightening up or summat. Glad to have an excuse to be rid of them, if I’m honest, I’m hopeless at keeping plants alive.”
“Okay, if you’re sure… ” He still doesn’t look happy, though. “Is there anything I can do to make it up to you?”
The words fly out of his mouth before Aaron can stop them. “Buy me a pint if you like?”
The man blinks at him, before his mouth curls into a small (flirtatious?) smile. “A pint it is.”
“Okay. Great. Uhm, I’m Aaron, by the way,” Aaron smiles back as he opens the door so they can step into the corridor.
“Oh. Robert.” He gestures to the squirming cat. “And you know Pippin.”
“Good to finally have a name for him, I’ve just been calling him ginger nightmare most of the time.” He decides not to share what he’d been calling Robert up until now.
Robert's surprised laugh echoes loudly in the hallway and he presses a fist to his mouth to muffle it. Aaron looks at him, helplessly fond, and can’t help but wonder how the man he’s been silently hating for weeks on end and this man giggling in his pyjamas can possibly be the same person.
“I dunno, that’s pretty accurate,” Robert says eventually, still chuckling. “Well, I… should let you sleep. And thanks again, I know this was a bit… ”
“Random?”
“Yeah.”
“It’s okay.”
“So can I… pick you up tomorrow night for that drink? Around seven?”
“I’ll be here.”
“Great. Night, then.”
Aaron nods, watching Robert walk towards the staircase. They smile at each other one last time, and Robert disappears upstairs, Pippin’s meows still faintly audible.
Before he goes back to bed, Aaron spends twenty minutes scrolling through his phone for the best cat toy he can find. He owes Pippin a thank you present.

Where to Buy Flea Medication
https://www.centralparkpaws.net/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/519ikQESumL.jpg
This past weekend my husband and I were out walking the pups when we saw a kitten sitting behind a nursing home.
I walked down to see if it had tags so that I could get it back home, but there were no tags.
Long story short, the kitten was born near the nursing home and had no family.
Of course, I went back and scooped her up.
I brought her to the vet. She checked out okay, so I set out on a mission to find a home for the kitten.
Within hours, good friends of ours contacted me and said they would love to give her a home.
Buying Flea Medication Online
I was telling my friend that I had brought her into the vet where they gave me a free dose of Frontline to take care of any fleas.
I then asked if she wanted me to go back and grab more for her, but she declined, saying they always got their flea preventatives online because it is both cheaper and more convenient than running to the vet.
I had some questions about her online experiences since I traditionally picked up all of my pets’ medicine from our vet.
With three dogs and cat, any chance of saving money is always welcome!
I did some research on several online stores to see where I could get the best deals and to read what other customers were saying about their experience.
Here’s what I found.
What to Look for in Online Pharmacies
It is not that I didn’t know about vet meds being available online. I didn’t order online because I didn’t trust the stores.
Being an active member of the pet community and regularly reading a variety of pet articles, I have come upon more than a few reports pointing out the dangers of ordering online.
Of course, this was years ago when it first started becoming more popular.
Over time, things have changed in the regulations and safety of getting meds online.
After completing my research, I have found multiple reputable online pharmacies.
Here’s a list of things I was looking for regarding the purchase of medication from various websites.
I will note that not all of the following restrictions are applicable for flea preventatives (Some may focus on human, not pet, pharmacies).
Vet-VIPPS (Verified Internet Pharmacy Practice Sites) accredited[1]
Check legitscript.com to see if they are a registered pharmacy[2]
Check to see if they are Safe Pharmacy[3] approved
Make sure they are a US-based pharmacy; different countries have different regulations on medications
Check the Better Business Bureau to see if they are in good standing
Make sure a prescription is required for prescription drugs
The reason to take caution when buying online is that online pharmacies that are not accredited have been known to provide wrong, ineffective, or out-of-date medications, all of which can put your dog at risk for medical complications.

Like I said, I have always gotten my flea medication from my vet.
They even offer an online store through Midwest Veterinary Supply, making things easy to order.
Their online ordering link directs you to three different websites:
Two are for farm animals and the third is for domestic pets.
The major downside to ordering through this site is that it’s isn’t as easy and straightforward as many of the other sites listed here.
You’ll probably have to get a prescription from your vet before you can order here, as well, which kinds of negates the convenience of ordering online.

I don’t think that there’s a person on this planet who isn’t familiar with Amazon!
Though they are known for their free shipping for Prime members and their wide variety of products, they are not associated with a licensed pharmacy.
The lack of licensing doesn’t mean that Amazon isn’t a reputable online store, but it does mean that the regulations regarding medications aren’t as strict as other options.

Though Chewy.com isn’t as well-known as Amazon, it is a great online pet store.
On a personal note, I will say that my shopping experiences with Chewy have always been pleasant.
Plus, when I’ve requested to do a return, they have been accommodating and asked I donate the product to a local shelter instead of sending it back.
Regarding Chewy and medication, I am happy to report they are associated with a licensed pharmacy.

Recommendations
The first thing I will say after completing my research is that I am absolutely blown away by the large variety of flea medications on the market.
“Wan” is Japanese for “woof,” so is this collar only effective against Japanese fleas?
I was familiar with several of the brands, but to be honest, the majority of the brands were new to me.
My first recommendation when shopping online for flea medications, whether it is over the counter or prescription, is to be sure that you find a reputable online store.
In my research, I was disturbed by the comments I found regarding those who exercised less caution, and their pups paid the price.
Overall, I think Chewy.com offers the most competitive pricing for pet medications, especially with auto-ship.
However, as you can see above, I did note three common flea medications and who had the best pricing for each.
The drawback of ordering medicine online is that there are two delays.
The first delay would be for the prescription to be verified, and the second would be for the shipping.
Neither delays would be something you would deal with when picking up flea medication from your vet.
Conclusion
Having three dogs is expensive, and I am all for saving money, but not at the expense of my dogs’ health.
However, after researching online shopping, I found that I could save over $100 a year on flea preventative and almost $900 a year on all other medications by buying their medication online!
My final thought is that it is well worth the time to shop around for flea medications.

Note
i found some $5 flea and tick medicine at walmart (the kind that goes on the skin) and i was wondering... how/why/what????? every other skin-based flea medicine is $35+. of course it didn’t work at all, but i was wondering if you could explain what’s going on here? how are they so cheap? btw if anyone’s curious what did (mostly, save for two or three fleas) work is a $10 adam’s flea collar though i’m getting my dog bravecto when i get the money saved up!
A lot of the ‘cheap’ flea products have active ingredients which have been around for 10+ years and so are no longer subject to copyright. Problem is once those meds have been in the market for 10+ years, they may not be all that effective.
Often they’re cheap and nasty medication to start with, and pharmaceutical companies often copyright the transport medium too, the other compounds in there that distribute the insecticide across/around the skin. You can have different products with the same active, but one will cause chemical burns and one will not.
Case in point, I saw a bunch of dogs for chemical burns over their shoulders one year because some enterprising idiot decided to buy imidacloprid used to spray on crops and put it on dogs, because it was significantly cheaper. There’s a reason.
Something at the supermarket does not have to have proven itself to the same degree that a product for same at a vet clinic needs to. If you buy a product at the supermarket that doesn’t work, are you going to complain to the supermarket? If you buy a product at a vet clinic that doesn’t work, you most certainly will be complaining to the vet!
Pharmaceutical companies don’t set their prices just based on what it costs to produce a product. They price it based on what they think the consumers will pay. That’s why products that do the same thing are all around the same price point.
It’s an unfortunate result of for-profit businesses doing all the research, but the main driving force setting a price for a product is what they think people will pay. I am not permitted to give details, but there are market research surveys offered to vets on a semi-regular basis which ask questions like “What do you think a reasonable price is for a product which does X, Y and Z?”
Case in point, cerenia tablets are the only non-sedating tablet for car sickness in dogs. When they were first released, they were eight times more expensive than they are now. Nobody bought them, so the price mysteriously dropped.
Reconcile was a brand of beef-flavoured prozac for dogs, at more than double the price of human brand prozac from the chemist. Nobody bought it, they stopped making it.
As a vet I don’t determine these prices by the way. We can determine the in-clinic markup, but not the wholesale price. And products like flea treatments which are non-prescription and widely advertised often have a recommended retail price we’re encouraged to follow.
That’s unfortunately how the prices work right now.
