On the other hand, I would love idol group recommendations (regardless if they're chika idol or not)!! Since by 2025 two of my favorite groups will disband/I'm not sure how their future is going to be ( ;´ - `;)

My top favorite idol group is prob Misolade Edison, since I enjoy not only their concept but also their songs as well… If there is something similar please let me know!! I'd love to know more about it

About Me

Wow, you read to the bottom, thanks. I've struggled with S/H for something close to a decade now, and with depression and anxiety much longer than that. My E/D struggles are recent and I'm only coming up on a year of having it. I'm chronically ill and have been my whole life. I find it hard to interact and connect with people. I mask so hard constantly so I think people think I'm a better person than I really am. I'm formally diagnosed with depression and anxiety, and am being officially treated for PTSD and OCD by a therapist (not for long though). I don't currently take meds. The people of Gaza have returned to a wiped-out city, empty neighborhoods, and destroyed homes. There are no mosques, no schools, no universities, no hospitals, no roads—not even bakeries or markets. Even water and electricity, the simplest necessities of life, are unavailable!

Congrats on the move!! What made you want to live in the Philippines??

When I was in the Army in the 80s and stationed in Germany, a couple of guys in my unit were from here--one of them used to tell funny stories about growing up here in the 60s--so that’s when I developed a casual interest. It sounded cool in a “someday I should visit there” kind of way.

For a long time my dream was to go back to Europe--and I’d still like to do that someday--but then I started reading up on Pilipinas a little more, and met some Manila-area folks through Tumblr (a couple of whom I will get to meet in person this evening for dinner!), and just, the more I read and the more we talked about it, the more fascinating it seemed, until I finally found myself daydreaming about living here and trying to imagine what it would be like. Then I talked to Social Security to make sure I could still receive my disability benefits here, and compared cost of living and discovered I can live comfortably here for a lot less than I can in the US. (In most parts of the US, it is really hard to live on disability.)

I guess that’s a really long way of saying it was a gradual thing that came about mostly from talking to various people from here, and that the more Filipinos I met and the more I learned about the country, the more I wanted to see it for myself--but as a local, not just as a tourist.

So here I am!

We’ll see how it works out. (I’m maintaining my stateside residence for now, because it’s good to have a backup plan.)

Today, the sun of October 8th has risen, according to Gaza time, and thanks to God.

Today, the truce has come into effect, the news we have been waiting for so long. Finally, the killing, destruction, and devastation will stop.
