have u ever thought about changing the names of any of the characters now that u no longer have to put the c at the start to point to dsmp ? or just do u have any different name headcanons for the cast in general :3c

Wilbur - Willoughby
Tommy - Tawny

Tubbo - Busby (buzz for short) (this one I’m still a bit on the fence abt bc there isn’t as much thought behind it as the others) (I initially wanted to find names of brutalist Soviet architects… maybe I will revisit)

Was there ever like an IRA but for Scotland?
Not really, there was one (1) guy called Adam Busby who claimed to be leader of the Scottish National Liberation Army (SNLA) and he did a lot of hoax letter bomb threats against literally everyone under the sun.
I’m not even entirely sure if he was Scottish himself. He served in the British army and then coordinated his threats from Ireland.
So no, nothing comparable to the IRA.

I’m catching up on Outdaughtered (my guilty pleasure) and it made me remember how skeptical people were (/are) of Danielle’s autoimmune disease. Women are constantly disbelieved despite ample reason to trust what they’re saying.
Like she started experiencing debilitating (more on that later) symptoms in 2021. You know what happened the year before? Covid, aka a mass-disabling event that’s led to people developing all sorts of problems even after they’ve cleared the virus. It was never stated if any of the Busbys got Covid, but it wouldn’t surprise me if at least Danielle did and she was just asymptomatic (or they kept that private because being on a reality does not entitle the audience to know every little thing about her). That alone should be reason enough to believe she’s developed an autoimmune disorder.
Now let’s look at her medical history that we know of. She stated she’s had migraines and various pains for years, it was just in 2021 that it grew to a point where she could no longer cope with it. She also carried five human beings in her body at once, had PCOS, got a hysterectomy in 2019 because of uterine polyps, and found out in 2021 that she has a hole in her heart. Her doctors claimed the hole was no big deal, but we all know that even with life threatening issues, doctors downplay the severity of women’s health problems, and that combined with everything else sounds like her body is screaming “THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG IN HERE.”
And as a side note, the news outlets reporting on it simultaneously hold Adam, her husband, up as the most supportive man in the world, then admit that he’s fucking dogging her about gaining 20 pounds like she could control that. Stop applauding that man for doing less than the bare minimum. It’s giving this:
Back to Danielle, people are so excited to tear this woman down that they’re willing to look past everything we know about her and the time this happened for the chance at “catching” her in a lie. A lie that isn’t there. They’re just jumping on the fact that the doctors can’t give her a specific name to it, and the reason she hasn’t been diagnosed with a specific autoimmune disease is because there are so many problems that can crop up when your body starts fighting itself and it is so understudied because autoimmune diseases have long been considered a “woman’s problem” that the exact cause cannot be confirmed, maybe hasn’t even been discovered yet, might never be discovered.
Being a woman is getting second-class care, then being shamed for the outcomes of that care.

CINDY BUSBY AND DAVID GRIDLEY UNCOVER HISTOY AND ROMANCE IN ‘LOVE IN ZION NATIONAL: A NATIONAL PARK ROMANCE’ A NEW, ORIGINAL MOVIE PREMIERING MAY 20, ON HALLMARK CHANNEL
STUDIO CITY, CA – April 26, 2023 – Cindy Busby (“Marry Me in Yosemite,” “Chasing Waterfalls”) and David Gridley (“The Duff,” “It Takes Three”) star in “Love in Zion National: A National Park Romance,” a new, original movie premiering Saturday, May 20 (8 p.m. ET/PT), on Hallmark Channel.
Lauren, (Busby) assistant curator at the Denver Museum of Natural History, has just received an exciting donation to the museum’s Native American Collections – a set of Anasazi wedding vases. But not everyone is as excited about the donation as Lauren. The benefactor’s grandnephew, Grady Hollingston (Bourke Floyd, “The Locksmith”), plans to contest the donation, claiming his great aunt had no right to give away such valuable family heirlooms. Lauren believes that based on the design of the vases there is a fourth vase that is missing from the set and if she can find it in Zion National Park herself, she can make the case that the vases should be returned to the Pueblo Nation. She heads to the park where she meets a local ranger and native Puebloan, Adam Proudstar (Gridley). Adam is at first skeptical of Lauren’s motives, but reluctantly agrees to accompany her search for the missing vase. When they arrive at their destination, they discover that Hollingston has also started a search of his own. Believing that they failed and have run out of time a disappointed Lauren and Adam prepare to part, despite growing feelings for each other, but perhaps not all is lost when a family secret is revealed.
“Love in Zion National: A National Park Romance” is from Johnson Production Group. Timothy O. Johnson and Joseph Wilka are executive producers. Robert Ballo serves as producer along Robin Conly is co-producer. Sam Irvin directed from a script by Bryar Freed and Jacob Cooney and a story by Conly.

Alcorn to host West African music program by Vicksburg native Jerry Jenkins
Jerry Jenkins playing the drums
-------------------------
Natchez, MS, USA / ListenUpYall.com Roscoe Barnes III Aug 17, 2023 | 7:59 AM
LORMAN, Miss. - Jerry Jenkins and his drums will be featured in a program on West African music at Alcorn State University.
Jenkins will offer a historical look at African music and give demonstrations of how the music is played. He also will discuss its value as well as its impact on today’s culture in Southern Mississippi.
Jenkins’ presentation is titled, “A Look at Mande’ (West African) Culture through Traditional Music.” It will be held at 1 p.m. on Sept. 12, in Dumas Hall, Room 107, on the Lorman Campus of Alcorn State University.
“My lecture will focus on the music of Pre-Africa and what it was like,” Jenkins said. “We will look at the music and the people of that time period. Today, we separate our artists from the community. But what are the benefits of bringing them back together?”
Jenkins said he will engage the crowd as he often does in other presentations. He said he will bring extra drums for this purpose.
Jerry Jenkins teaching
The event is hosted by the Southwest Mississippi Center for Culture & Learning and Alcorn State University School of Arts and Sciences. Teresa Busby, the center’s executive director, said the program is the first in the center’s Coffee & Culture series for fall 2023. The presentation is free to the public.
“We are delighted to host Mr. Jenkins at Alcorn State University,” Busby said. “His interactive presentation will delve into the influence of West Africa on American culture. He uses music to tell an important story and to engage his audiences.”
Jenkins is originally from Chicago. He grew up in Vicksburg and now lives in Jackson. His work as a musician and educator has taken him across the state and to cities outside of Mississippi.
In February 2022, Jenkins played the drums and portrayed King Sori in a play on Prince Abdul Rahman Ibrahim held at the Natchez Museum of African American History and Culture. The play was titled, “Isabella and the Prince: ‘Overcoming Struggles Through Courage & Faith.’” It featured local historian Jeremy Houston as the Prince and Shella Adams, an actual descendant of Ibrahim, as Isabella.
During his performance with the drums, Jenkins moved throughout the room and engaged the audience by having several people play the drums along with him.
Jenkins has given presentations at the Two Museums in Jackson and Juneteenth events in Vicksburg. He said he’s also performed for the Jackson-George Regional Library System on the coast. In addition to his performance at the museum, Jenkins also has given presentations at Concord Quarters, working with Debbie Cosey, the property’s co-owner.
Jenkins has been a lifelong student of African music. He is a member of the Mississippi Humanities Council’s Speakers Bureau. He also is listed as a performance artist on the Mississippi Arts Commission’s Artist Roster.
According to the commission’s website, Jenkins “provides engaging programming structured around West African stories, dramas and Djembe ensemble music.”
Jenkins teaches various levels of advanced techniques in Djembe drumming and Mande culture through music. “His unique approach to interacting with the audience creates a deeper and more meaningful experience,” the website states. For more information on Jenkins’ presentation, call 601-877-6551. To request disability-related accommodations contact the Disability Coordinator at least five days in advance at 601-877-6460 (office) or email at [email protected]
