The escape: Backup Plan
(Pt. I)
Tumblr media
Janson (Maze Runner) x OC (Lauren)
Angst
summary: Lauren (OC) who’s a doctor in the facility tricks Janson with a decoy of the cure and makes a quick escape, hoping to stay ahead before he discovers the truth.
—————————————————————————————————-
Inspired by:
The sound of footsteps echoed through the hallway, distant but growing louder, as Lauren tightened the straps of her bag, her mind racing. The real cure—tucked safely in her hidden compartment—was still with her. But the decoy she’d left behind in the lab, the one Janson had taken, would buy her just enough time.
The only thing that mattered now was getting away before he realized.
She bolted down the narrow corridors, her breath steady but sharp, the pounding of her feet a steady rhythm in the sterile silence. Lauren wasn’t the same quiet, passive figure Janson thought she was. No. She’d learned to be smart, to adapt. To stay ahead.
As she rounded another corner, the cold bite of reality sank in. She only had moments before Janson would discover the truth. He would soon know that the cure he thought he’d stolen was useless—a placebo, a trick.
And when he did…
Suddenly, the corridor ahead felt suffocating, like the walls were closing in. She turned again, winding deeper into the facility, her heart racing but her mind sharp, every step purposeful. She knew where she was going. She knew the escape routes. She knew every blind spot in the surveillance.
The temporary vial wasn’t even worth what she carried.
A cold voice cut through her thoughts, sharp and unnerving. “Lauren.”
Her heart jumped. Janson.
He emerged from the shadows, his face a mask of calm fury. The temporary vial sat in his hand, his knuckles white around it. He was close enough to see, but far enough to not catch her—yet.
“I thought we had an understanding,” he said, his voice quiet but filled with menace. He stepped toward her, his eyes narrowed. “This—” he held up the vial, “—isn’t what I asked for.”
Lauren clenched her jaw, willing her pulse to slow down. She wouldn’t let him see her fear. Not now. Not when she had the upper hand.
“That’s the cure, Janson,” she lied smoothly, her eyes unwavering. “Everything you need is in there.”
Janson’s expression didn’t change, but something flickered in his eyes—doubt, suspicion. He stepped closer, his pace deliberate, each step calculated. “You really expect me to believe that?”
Lauren took a step back, her mind spinning. She couldn’t run yet—not until she was sure she could shake him. Her fingers tightened around the strap of her bag, the weight of the real cure pressing into her side, reminding her that she still had control.
For now.
Janson’s cold gaze flickered down to the bag, his voice growing colder. “I’m not stupid, Lauren. You think you can outplay me?”
Lauren’s chest tightened, but she kept her face neutral. “It’s all there,” she said, her voice firm, “but you’ll never understand how it works.”
Janson’s eyes darkened, his jaw tightening as he studied her. He was testing her, weighing the truth of her words, but she was too good at this. She had to be.
“You’ve always been clever,” he said, taking another slow, deliberate step toward her, his eyes never leaving hers. “But you’re making a mistake.”
Lauren didn’t move. “You already have what you want. Walk away.”
Janson’s eyes narrowed, and the tension between them thickened like a coiled wire about to snap. His fingers twitched at his side, as though ready to grab her, to pull the truth from her by force if he had to.
But he didn’t know. He didn’t know that the real cure wasn’t in his hands. And she wasn’t about to tell him.
The silence stretched between them, charged with unspoken threats and barely-contained fury. Lauren’s muscles tensed, ready to move at the first sign of weakness.
And then Janson’s lips curled into a thin smile—cold, calculating.
“You’ve always been good at hiding things,” he murmured, stepping so close now that she could feel the heat of his breath on her skin. “But you can’t run forever.”
Lauren’s pulse spiked. She knew what was coming.
She made her move.
Without warning, Lauren spun on her heel and bolted, her feet flying down the corridor before Janson could react. She heard him curse behind her, his footsteps thundering after her, but she was faster. Smarter.
She raced through the labyrinth of hallways, her mind laser-focused on her exit strategy. She had a backup route. A plan. One he didn’t know about.
Janson’s footsteps grew louder behind her, his anger palpable in the air. He was close—too close—but she wasn’t going to let him catch her. Not this time.
Lauren veered to the right, darting down a side passage that led deeper into the facility. She could hear his frustrated growl, the sound of him picking up speed, his determination bleeding into every footfall.
She turned another corner, her eyes scanning for the emergency exit she knew was just ahead. If she could just reach it, she’d be free. She’d be safe.
But then—
The mechanical sound of a gun being cocked stopped her, the barrel stopping mere millimeters from her skull. She gasped, stumbling as Janson cornered her into the wall, his eyes blazing with fury.
“Where do you think you’re going?” he growled, his voice low and dangerous.
Lauren panicked, her breath coming in sharp, shallow bursts. She could feel the vial pressing against her side, the real cure, still safely hidden. He didn’t know.
He couldn’t know.
“I’m not giving you anything,” she spat, her voice defiant despite the fear gnawing at her insides.
Janson grabbed her, tightening his grip with his face inches from hers, the anger rolling off him in waves. “You think you’re clever, don’t you?” he hissed. “You think you can outsmart me?”
Lauren glared up at him, refusing to back down. “You won’t get it. No matter what you do.”
For a moment, Janson didn’t move. His eyes bore into hers, cold and calculating, as though he was weighing his options.
Then, without warning, he slammed his hand against the wall beside her, caging her in. His other hand reached for her bag, ripping it from her shoulder in one swift motion.
He rifled through it, his movements rough, angry—until he found the vial.
For a split second, Lauren’s heart froze. But she didn’t falter. She knew what he had in his hands.
Janson held it up, his eyes narrowing as he studied it. “This is it, then?” he said, his voice dripping with skepticism.
Lauren swallowed hard, forcing herself to keep calm. “That’s the cure,” she said, her voice steady. “The only one.”
Janson’s gaze flicked back to her, suspicion flashing across his face. But then, slowly, a twisted smile spread across his lips.
“I don’t believe you.”
In that moment, Lauren knew she had him. She’d planted the seed of doubt, and now it was taking root. He didn’t know what to believe. And that was her advantage.
Janson pocketed the vial, his grip still tight on her arm, his eyes scanning her face for any sign of a lie. But Lauren was too good at this. She had to be.
“You’ll regret this,” he whispered, his voice low and dangerous. “One way or another.”
And with that, he released her, stepping back as if daring her to make her next move.
Lauren didn’t hesitate. She turned and ran, her heart pounding in her chest as she made her way toward the real exit, the one he didn’t know about.
The real cure was still safely hidden, and now, she had the upper hand.
For now.

Could you make headcanons for dating Newt (The Maze Runner) and being a badass? (With female reader)
A/N: I decided to make this a bit more “the way to dating Newt”-headcanons (like seeing their relationship developing), I hope that’s ok! I love them better myself actually when I’m reading headcanons from other people. Otherwise this could have been too similar with my dating Brenda headcanons. I hope you like it! (Also making these lowkey made me want to do a multichapter fic of Newt and a badass reader and wtf, Newt isn’t even one of my ultimate fave characters XD Like yeah he’s one of my faves in TMR but like?? I’m probably not doing it though because my patience + multichapter fics = NOT a good combo, I should write it ready and start publishing after that if I were to write that)
Warnings: a hint/mention of (Newt’s) suicide attempt
Tumblr media
DATING NEWT AND BEING A BADASS:
- You were always known as the “tough girl” at the Right hand relief camp.
- It seemed you could get over anything, you were the leading fighter there, and to others it seemed like you could almost single-handedly fight off Cranks and read a book at the same time.
- When the Gladers arrived to the camp, you were told to do a check-up on them with a few other campers.
- It was a bit awkward at first for them, but you and Newt got along quite well.
- He was intrigued on your confidence and how you made some jokes as you disinfected some wounds so they wouldn’t feel so bad because the boys would be laughing.
- When Teresa betrayed you and WCKD attacked the camp, you were willing to put your life on the line when you tried to protect the Gladers, and even running to pry Minho away from the guard, but Janson shot you in your leg to stop you and was going to shoot you dead after that, but Ava stopped him, telling him they need to go because gunfire started to get too dangerous.
- Newt admired it how you just stood up to WCKD, basically dodging bullets in crossfire.
- And he and you talked every day for hours as your leg was healing.
- Vince said that it was stupid to throw yourself to the crossfire like that, but then he sighed and added “but that’s just Y/N, and that’s why she’s our badass”.
- You talked about your lives, you told stories of the world before the Flare, and Newt told about his life to the point he remembers, how he woke up in the Maze and how he and the other Gladers ended up in that camp.
- He trusts you enough to tell you about his own limp after you’re left with one.
- And the whole experience just made you really close.
- And one night you can’t sleep so you’re out watching the stars, and Newt joins you.
- “Can’t sleep either, huh?” he asks, and you nod.
- “This whole thing is just so messed up.”
- You’re sitting there for a while in silence, just watching the sky.
- And you don’t exactly know how, but eventually you fell to sleep beside Newt, basically cuddling with each other.
- That teasing from others at the morning…
- You both were super red and flustered.
- But it took just a few days after that when Newt asked to speak with you in private.
- And he told you he has had feelings for you for a while, but he realized it on that night you were stargazing together.
- You didn’t need to think twice, you just kissed him right then and there.
- Ok so you started dating that evening, that was a wordless agreement.
- Newt tries to make up romantic surprises sometimes, even though it’s hard when you’re in desert.
- So usually you just go cuddle under a starry sky and find constellations.
- When you’re hijacking the train where Minho is, you’re shooting WCKD soldiers one by one, hitting every time and though Newt is busy with getting the carriage open, he can’t help but feel proud when he hears you shooting and shouting things like “ha, take that you morons!”
- You’re the first who finds out he’s been bit.
- You just saw him touching his arm and knew something was wrong, so you just yanked the sleeve up, knowing it’s something bad.
- Maybe you knew that even before actually seeing it.
- Vowing that you’d be personally the one who gets the cure for him.
- He just smiles at you sadly, but you take his hand and squeeze it tightly.
- “You believe me, don’t you, Newt?”
- He sighs and nods slowly. “Yeah, I believe you.”
- You know he’s saying that just because he doesn’t wanna argue with you about it, but you’re determined to keep your word.
- Newt won’t die on your watch.

TMR: The Death Cure/Gally imagine - You Made Me A Promise (Part 2)
Tumblr media
AN: I’m so glad that the first part got such a positive response!! Thank you for reading!!
Summary: You and Gally met as rebels against W.C.K.D and now that his old maze friends have returned, you’ll be damned if he thinks he’s leaving you out now.
(PART ONE HERE)
In This part: You’re in this together. Always. If Gally goes into the lions den then so will you.
Pairing(s): Gally x reader
Word count: 3,902
Warnings: Death cure spoilers. Strong Language. Violence. Fluff.
“So, that’s the plan?” You followed Gally as he strode down the alley.
“It’s the only one we got.” Gally stated. “Everyone has a weakness. Let’s just hope hers is still Thomas.”
“Alright, well, when do we leave?” Your question made Gally pause, pinching the bridge of his nose before facing you.
“Are you sure you wanna do this?” He asked with his hand on his hip.
“What do you mean am I sure?” You furrowed your eyebrows at the boy. “Gally, I’m going no matter what.”
“(Y/n), we aren’t talking about some mission into the city.” Gally tried to explain but you weren’t about to just sit back and listen to the ‘dangers’ of a trip like this.
“And you don’t think I know that? You don’t think I know what going into WCKD actually means? The consequences? The possibility of not coming back?” You couldn’t help but raise your voice slightly. “Gally, I was here long before you were but there’s no way in hell I’m living here after you. We go together and if something happens then at least I am with you. How many times do I have to explain that?”
“Maybe you don’t think about what I want.” Gally defended himself. “I don’t want to see you get hurt and I’d rather not see you die either.”
You didn't know what to say. Gally knew that you’d come with or without a fight so there wasn’t anything else to say.
Gally sighed and turned to walk away.
“Be ready by sundown.” He told you.
You removed Teresa’s hood when they sat her down. Gally and Thomas needed to be in front of her when she saw where she was.
“Gally?” Teresa stared at the boy with a mixture of confusion and surprise. It was the same look the boys had on their faces when they saw Gally alive.
“Here's how this is gonna go. We're gonna ask you some questions, and you're gonna tell us exactly what we need to know. We'll start off simple. Where's Minho?” Gally didn’t bother with the niceties.
“You guys don't seriously think––” Teresa started before Gally slammed his chair down in front of her, cutting her short.
“Don't look at him. Why are you looking at him? Look at me.” Gally demanded,   “He's not gonna help you. Now, we know you have Minho in the building. Where?” Gally continued. His dominance and sternness made you smirk.
“He's with the others in holding. Sublevel three.” Teresa quickly realised there was no point in not giving answers if she wanted to leave.
“How many others?” Newt asked.
“Twenty-eight.″ Teresa informed him. Gally looked back at Brenda for a moment.
“I can make that work.” She shrugged.
“No. No, you guys don't understand. The whole level's restricted. You can't get in without a thumbprint ID.” Teresa only told you what you already knew.
“That's why you're gonna come with us.” Thomas spoke up.
“Well, I don't know. We don't necessarily need her.” Gally climbed off his chair and made his way over to the scalpel on the table. “Right? Not all of her. We just need her finger.”
“Gally, back off.” Thomas warned Gally he wasn’t on board with the threats.
“What, are you squeamish? I guarantee you she's done a lot worse to Minho.” Gally pointed the scalpel at the girl as he spoke.
“That's not the plan. Back off.” Thomas stood, taking the knife from Gally’s grip.
“It won't make a difference. Do whatever you want to me. You still won't get through the front door. The sensors will pick you up the––”
“––We know. We're tagged. Property of WCKD. You're gonna help us with that, too.” Thomas interrupted Teresa before taking the scalpel over to her.
Teresa went quiet for a moment.
“You might as well help them, sweetheart. You kinda owe it to ‘em.” You finally pitched in, fiddling with your small handgun as you spoke.
“Teresa, please.” Thomas pleaded.
“Alright.” She nodded.
Newt wanted to go first then Gally then Fry. Thomas went last.
You weren’t property of WCKD. You didn’t need her help.
There are some days you still question how you managed to escape WCKD especially when they went out searching for immune kids.
“She enjoyed that.” Gally grumbled as the bleeding finally stopped.
“You probably right.” Fry agreed.
“It’s not bad, it’ll heal quickly.” You sat behind Gally and ran your thumb over the incision softly. “You okay?” You whispered, you knew that all this was bringing back serious memories of the maze and what happened to him.
“Yeah, I’m fine.” Gally dismissed your worry as Newt brought over some disguises.
“Here, see if these fit.” Newt handed Gally some trousers and a holster.
“And what about me? I don’t think I can pull off the body type of a male guard. I haven't seen a single female security officer in all the time we’ve been observing the building. Not under Janson’s command.” You reminded them that you weren’t just gonna sit around the parking lot and wait.
“We’re gonna see how tight security is on a new doctor. See if we can sneak you around with Teresa.” Gally informed you as he tightened his holster. “New faces walk into that building everyday. It should work if you act calm and look the part.”
“I can do that.” You stated.
“I know.” Gally winked at you as he stood and moved across the room.
The way you got into the building was with Gally. You knew you couldn’t pass as a guard for the entire time you were inside the building but if Gally could get you into the garage then you were in the building.
You met up with Teresa, Thomas and Newt before Teresa unlocked the entry door from the garage to the staircase.
You immediately stripped off your heavy gear and threw on a lab coat and clipboard. You pushed glasses up your nose just in case anyone did recognise you from previous riots and fights and threw your hair up into a ponytail.
You stashed the uniform in a crook by the stairs as Gally worked on getting inside the mainframe of the building so that your team back at base could tamper with the surveillance.
“Alright. Let’s go!” Gally closed the box on the wall before you all headed towards the holding cells.
Teresa let you in and you stepped back to let the boys with their guns sort out the guards inside.
You went around with Newt and Thomas and unlocked each pod but there was no sign of Minho.
Gally broke away to start to break into the vault.
“Guys, this might take some time.” Gally spoke up as he observed the lock.
“Shit... He’s not here.” Thomas searched every cell to see if he could possibly be in one of the beds but he wasn’t. “Where is he?” He confronted Teresa.
“I’ll have to check his status on the computer.” Teresa told him honestly.
You started to move all the bodies with the kids into one of the holding cells whilst Teresa looked and Gally worked on the vault. You didn’t need those fuckers waking up and adding complications to an already complicated situation.
“Somebody’s moved him up to the medical wing.” Teresa said as she found his profile. “Thomas, that’s on the other side of the building.”
“Okay. Take me to him, right now.” Thomas moved away from the screen and towards the door.
“I’m coming with you.” Newt picked up his gun.
“Newt, no, you’re not. You have to stay here and wait with Gally for the serum.”
“You can’t do this on your own. Minho comes first remember.” Newt and Thomas argued.
“Just go. I’ll wait here with Gally, make sure we actually get the serum. You get the boy.” You told the boys as you picked up one of the guards guns.
“Alright.” Thomas sighed, “Alright.”
“We’ll meet you out back.” Gally added. Thomas nodded, giving in.
“Okay. Let’s go.” Thomas ushered Teresa towards the door.
“Hey Greenie!” Gally called back to Thomas before he left. “Good luck.”
“Alright, everyone settle down. We’re gonna be here a while. Anyone know how to use a gun?” You asked the kids around you. A couple of the boys and a girl put their hands up and you gave them the remaining guns. “Keep an eye out for any security. Don't shoot until I shoot.” You gave them their orders before standing back and watching the surveillance on the large desk computer.
“I’m in.” Gally called out as the lock broke off.
“Great! Be quick.” You told him as he went in and filled a bag with the serum.
“Okay. We need to get out of here.” Gally did as he was told and swiftly did the job. “Stay close to us. Stick together.” He told the kids as he jumped to your side. “You. Guard this with your life.” He picked on one of the kids to look after the bag as you would both need to have your hands free to deal with any one who caught you leaving.
“Okay?” You asked Gally if he was ready and he nodded.
“Let’s go!” He shouted as he took off in a sprint. Both of you stayed at the front as you lead the pack to the parking garage.
You were fortunate enough to not meet any trouble on the way down.
“Brenda, where are you? We’re here!” Gally used the walkie-talkie to contact her and just as you rounded the corner, a speeding bus came to a halt.
“Come on! Let’s go!” Brenda opened the window and called everyone in.
You and Gally ushered the group into the bus.
“Where’s Thomas?” Brenda asked.
“I assumed he was with you.” Gally admitted. Brenda was quick to leap off the bus at that news. “Wait, wait. Stay here with the kids.” Gally stopped her. “Wait here, just... I’ll find him.”
You went to follow him but Gally stopped you.
“No way. Stay here.” He commanded.
“Gally––.” You went to argue but Gally wasn’t having any of it.
“Stay here, (Y/n).”
You went to open your mouth but before anything could come out he spoke again.  “(Y/n), please just trust me. I have to do this alone. It’s less dangerous for both of us.”
You growled in frustration before pulling his head down by the collar of his jacket and kissing him.
“If you don’t make it back—“ You warned him but he already knew the threat.
“—you’ll kick my ass, yeah I know.” He pecked you again before running off. You turned back to Brenda and she pressed her lips into a thin line.
“Don’t worry. We’re not going anywhere.” She assured you.
Tumblr media
After Gally ran off, all you could do was wait.
“You hear that? Straight ahead.” You suddenly noticed a black SUV pull in.
“Everyone down!” Brenda looked back at the kids, hushing them as they ducked.
You tried to stay quiet as you watched the guards walk towards the bus with curiosity and caution.
“I can’t leave without him.” You whispered to Brenda.
“You can’t stay here, you’ll die. He doesn’t want you dead.” Brenda argued.
You looked around in desperation before deciding what to do next.
“I’ll distract them. It’ll give you a head start.”
“What?” Brenda watched you raise to your feet and leave the bus.
“Hands where I can see them!” The soldiers commanded. You did what they wanted and made your way slowly towards them.
“Kill her.” One of them muttered to the other as they took hold of you.
“She could be immune. We aren’t allowed to kill the immune.” The soldier retorted to his partner.
“Then take her upstairs!” Just as the other soldier sent out the order, Brenda put her foot on the gas and sped off.
“Dammit!” The soldiers cursed. You broke free from the solder holding you and kicked at his shins. He hissed and let one hand drop from his gun, giving you the opportunity to snatch it from him before running as the rest focused on the bus.
You didn’t managed get out unscathed. One of the soldiers must’ve just managed to get a shot at you before you went out to the streets. His shot got you in the back.
You crept round the edge of the building to analyse how bad your wound was.
The bullet was lodged in stopping most of the bleeding. You were thankful that it hadn’t passed right through you and you were thankful it was just your shoulder.
You removed the lab coat you were wearing and ripped off one of the arms, tying it around your wound to stop any bleeding.
You knew you couldn't enter the building. It’d be crawling with soldiers now that re-enforcements had arrived. You had to get as far away as possible. As much as your body was screaming at you to go back for Gally, it was a suicide mission and Gally was in disguise anyways.
You knew you had to get to the tunnels, it was your only way. Gally would meet you there once he realised the bus was gone.
You stared back at the building from a street over and fidgeted on your feet.
“Don’t die, asshole.” You muttered to Gally. You were praying he was alright.
With all the vehicles and soldiers around, and your injury, it was going to take you double the time to get back to the tunnels. You would have to stick to the alleys and avoid the main roads as best as you could.
A few blocks over you had to stop and lean against a wall. You tried to catch your breath as you checked your wound again. There was sirens everywhere which made matters a whole lot worse, it reminded you that there was no where to escape.
“I’m fucked, Gally.” You looked up at the sky and shook your head. You still had a while to go.
That’s when you heard the thundering crash. It came from the gates to the city.
You grabbed the fire escape next to you and climbed up the building to see what it was. Your eyes were met by a flaming hole where the gates used to stand.
“Shit Lawrence.” You figured who else could it be. You weren’t going to pretend that you didn’t know his real ambition. The city was WCKD now and Lawrence wanted to take down WCKD.
The chorus of screaming civilians was your cue to get back on the run.
Gally was with Newt, Thomas and Minho when Thomas called in to Brenda that they weren’t going to make it to the tunnels in time.
“Thomas, don't worry. I'm coming to you.” Brenda told the boys as she heard the craft fly over her.
“What are you talking about?” Thomas asked,
“Our ride's here! Just look for us near the tunnels.” Brenda told him. “One last thing, are you with (Y/n)?”
“No? I thought she was with you?” Thomas tried to stay quiet so that Gally couldn’t hear but it didn’t stop him.
“What’s the problem? Where’s (Y/n)?” Gally moved away from Newt and snatched the radio out of Thomas’ hand.
“She jumped off the bus when the soldiers came. She chose to stay. She was captured by WCKD but I swore I saw her beat the guards off of her. I saw her escape.” Brenda tried to tell Gally.
“We have to go back.” Gally stormed towards the door to the chaos outside when Minho grabbed him. Gally immediately shoved him off. “No, we have to go back!”
“If she’s escaped then she’s probably on her way to the tunnels now.” Thomas tried to assure Gally.
“If she escaped we would’ve seen her by now. She would have taken the exact same route as us.” Gally insisted.
“Not unless she’s already there.” Newt said weakly. Gally looked down at the dying boy for a moment before turning and kicking the wall in anger.
“We gotta get out of here now.” He proclaimed.
Newt was partially right with what he said to Gally. You were ahead of them but little did you both know it was only by a few feet.
You did your best to dodge the chaos but the explosions were too much. The force of one sent you off your feet and lead to glass and bits of concrete attacking you. You hissed as you protected your face, your lack of jacket meant your skin was very vulnerable.
“Fuck. Fuck. Fuck.” You winced as you pulled a shard of glass from your side. It wasn’t large but it meant even more blood loss for you which wasn’t good.
You were just about ready to give up when you saw the aircraft land up ahead where the tunnels were. You knew it was Brenda and Jorge, it was the only bird in the sky and it wasn’t firing upon the city and in worst case scenario, you’re already dead anyways.
“Come on. Come on.” You tried to motivate yourself as you stood up.
You sprinted the best you could with your wounds straight to the train station.
“(Y/n)!” Brenda called your name as you ran towards them.
She embraced you, glad to see you made it. The moment was soon interrupted by Teresa’s voice being broadcasted all throughout the city.
“Thomas? Can you hear me? I need you to listen to me. I know you have no reason to trust me, but I need you to come back. Thomas, you can save Newt. There's still time for him. There's a reason Brenda isn't sick anymore. It's your blood. Do you understand? She isn't sick because you cured her. She doesn't have to be the only one. All you have to do is come back. And this will all finally be over. Please. Just come back to me. I know you'll do the right––”
The power in the city died before she could say the last word.
You looked over at Brenda who looked like she couldn’t believe it herself. That’s when you heard Gally.
You turned at your name to see him climbing the stairs you just did.
You rushed forward and your bodies collided fiercely in a tight hug.
Gally pulled away at the notice of the blood soaking your shirt.
“What happened?” He focused on your shoulder as he span you around.
“Some asshole got me as I left WCKD.” You explained; still quite out of breath.
“She needs stitches immediately.” Gally looked towards the others.
“Here.” Jorge waved you both over but you stopped in your tracks when you saw Brenda, Minho and Gally all running off in the opposite direction.
“Gally! Gally!” You ran forward to grab him but Jorge and Fry kept you back.
“You have lost too much blood.” Jorge grunted as he struggled to keep you still. “They’ll be back.”
You let yourself relax as Jorge sat you down inside the craft. He pulled the soaked make-shift bandage away and ripped your t-shirt away.
You let him remove the bullet before stitching you up. By the time he finished with the stitches on both your shoulder and side and given you a jumper to wear, Brenda, Gally and Minho returned. Without Thomas. Without Newt.
You stood up to be met with Gally’s embrace. He buried his face into the crook of your neck and held you tightly. You clasped onto his hair and back as you felt him start to cry against your skin.
“Where’s Thomas and Newt?” Fry asked.
“Newt’s... Newt didn’t...” Minho kicked the ramp of the ship and let out a scream into the city.
You suddenly realised why Gally needed that hug there and then.
“It’s okay.” You whispered, stroking his hair.
Gally may have seemed like the ‘asshole’ to the group in the maze towards the end of the trials but back at the beginning, him and Newt were good friends.
“Everyone inside. We need to go get Thomas.” Brenda wiped away her tears as she beckoned everyone inside the ship.
Gally sat beside you as you settled down in one of the chairs and he held onto your hand with both of his.
“Circle the building! He’s in there somewhere!” Brenda shouted to Jorge as he piloted the aircraft.
Everyone moved to the front to lookout for him.
“I think I got him!” Jorge called back when he searched the rooftop.
“Yeah, that’s him. Open the hatch!” Brenda ordered, moving to the back to help pull them in.
You stayed back as you couldn’t lift anyone in with your shoulder.
You watched as they just managed to pull Thomas in and that’s when you watched as Teresa fall.
“No...” You gasped and turned away. You heard the heartbreaking cry from Thomas.
You knew that feeling all too well.
Tumblr media
You didn’t know if there was anywhere left that was safe in the world.
That was until you boarded a ship along with the rest of the survivors and started a new life on a new shore.
“You and Gally will have matching scars now, surely?” One of the younger girls smirked as you taught her how to tie a proper knot.
The other girls around you also giggled and wiggled their eyes at you but they were all young so you just rolled your eyes.
You looked up in the direction of Gally to see him chopping some wood.
All the girls whispered to each other as they all turned to watch him and Minho too.
Past Gally you saw a shape you hadn't seen leave a bed in a long time. You saw Thomas.
“Excuse me, girls.” You sprung up and rushed towards Gally, taking his hand as you both made your way to Thomas.
You watched Thomas take Minho into a hug before the others.
“Glad to see you pulled through.” You said as he faced you. Thomas nodded before Vince made his presence known to him.
Vince spent the afternoon showing Thomas around and explaining the journey before the evening rolled in and everyone was gathered for a meeting.
You sat underneath Gally’s arm, resting your head on his shoulder as Vince addressed the group.
“We have come a long way together. So many have sacrificed so much to make this place possible.Your friends and your family. So, here's to the ones who couldn't be here. Here's to the friends we lost. This place is for you. It's for all of us. But this, this is for them. So, in your own time in your own way, come make your peace. And welcome to the Safe Haven!” Vince’s speech lead to an eruption of cheers and hollers.
You kissed Gally, smiling sweetly against his lips.
“Come on.” Gally lead you down to the rock so that you could write your brother’s name.
You stepped back and looked at the name in the fire light. Gally wrapped his arms around you and kissed your cheek, handing you a glass of his famous whiskey.
You wiped away a tear that strayed from your eyes.
“To a new life.” You lifted your glass as did Gally and you toasted to your new life.

2,4,6,8?
2-is there a trope you’ve yet to try your hand at but really want to? probably? but i am a dumbass who gets confused at what actually classifies a trope???? if its angsty i want to write it. that's about all i can give you here.
4-how many fic ideas are you nurturing right now? care to share any of them? short answer? too many? are we talking specific to sanders sides or are we talking in general cause the last time i counted my wips there was like almost 200 of them that at the time i had refused to give up on despite them collecting dust atm..... active ideas that i am still adding words too, however? hmmm...... like......... 55? if we're doing specific sanders sides ones. ive got like a 20 AUs ive wanted to do forever and ive been adding onto the general worlds. and then there's my harry potter stuff which has just taken a back seat which really is a crime. goodness, what was the rest of the question? do i want to share any....? no
6-share one of your weaknesses. too many ideas and no motivation as seen above.
8-share a snippet from one of your favorite dialogue scenes you’ve written and explain why you're proud of it.  ughhhhhhhhh i hate dialogue buuuuuuuttttt  here (spoler alert its not from sanders sides);
“Who are you?” Thomas asked in a whispered voice that even sounded too loud.  “I. Saved. You.” The thing growled looking at him and clutching his side. Images flashed in Thomas’s mind. A white room splattered in red, strangled cries. Too much blood.  “You killed Janson,” Thomas said slowly, wincing, remembering his bloodied hands. Thomas looked down at his hands, red and clutched in someone's shirt, he looked up and Newt was in front of him. Newt? Thomas blinked the memories away a new fear coiling in his stomach. “You were going to kill Newt.” only Thomas didn't remember anything after that.  “You don’t need him!” The thing shouted, filling the space around them, the words ending in gurgled coughs.  Thomas stood on shaky legs and willed his feet to move. Because somewhere Newt was out there, and maybe Thomas could find him.  “Where. Are. You. Going.” it gasped at Thomas. With his words, the space around them lightened. here Thomas from TMR is talking to the nogitsune from Teen wolf. and i just was really proud of the way i mixed the two worlds here.

Well, You All Took Your Time
The Maze Runner
Pairing: Newt X Reader
Word Count: 1005
Warning: None
Summary: Requested: I was wonder if you could do a TMR imagine with Newt? Maybe it could take place when they're busting out of the WICKED compound in scorch trials? Maybe there's some trouble getting the reader out of her room? Idk just anything really. Your writing is always amazing! 💕
A/N: Catchy title, I know. It’s like a damn Fall Out Boy song title.
I was made to stay in a room of my own in our new ‘home’, which none of us were happy about. Especially me and Newt. Since the day I arrived in the Glade, we hadn’t been separated, so it came as an icy shock when I was led to a different room than the rest of the remaining Gladers.
You’d think if I’d been able to stay trapped in a maze with them for three years, then I’d be able to share a room with them, but according to Ratman, I ‘needed my own space’ and I would ‘enjoy it much more’. Both statements I didn’t have much choice but to agree with, as the people in this place aren’t very lenient.
Which was another reason why we were sceptical about them. On meeting up with my friends when we ate, we had all unanimously come to the agreement that something wasn’t quite right about our apparent ‘saviours’.
“I don’t know,” Minho said in a low voice, “something just seems off. And not just because they’re separating our two favourite love birds.”
“Although that is on my list of why I don’t like them,” I state, giving Newt’s hand a soft squeeze as I leant closer into him, relishing the small amount of time we had together. “But you’re right. These people are definitely hiding something.”
“Also, what are they doing with Teresa?” Thomas piped up, adding to the speculation.
“And our lesser known love birds, of course,” Minho looked to Thomas, “I don’t know about Teresa, maybe she really was a bit worse off than the rest of us.”
“Maybe,” Thomas mumbled, looking off towards the guarded doors as if he was forming a plan.
“Look, whatever is going on here, we should keep our heads down whether we investigate it or not. At the end of the day, they’re feeding us and I’m sleeping in a proper bed,” Newt stated, taking a large bite of his meal to prove his point.
“Even if you don’t get to share it with our dear (Y/N)?” Minho teased, making Frypan snicker while I playfully roll my eyes and Newt gives him a glare.
“Always room for improvement,” Newt murmured, looking down to his now finished plate.
We were about to continue our conversation when we were interrupted by the arrival of Janson and his stream of names to be called. After watching the line of kids leave the room, everyone left was soon told to head back to their rooms.
“I hate this,” I mumbled to Newt as we said goodbye, our hands linked between us.
“I know, me too,” Newt replied as he leant forward, pressing a soft kiss to my lips before bidding me goodnight.
I didn’t sleep very much, partly because of the lack of Newt lying next to me, partly because I was trying to figure out why these people felt so odd. And suspicious. I sat on the cold floor with my back against the bed, staring at the plain grey wall opposite me. My thoughts were soon interrupted by the sound of shouting and people running.
Jumping up, I rushed to the door, putting my ear against it and trying to catch a few words from guards running past.
“What is it?” One asked, their voice a mixture of exasperation and confusion.
“Some of the Group A kids have escaped. Thomas or whatever his name is, he’s figured out-”
Their voices hazed out as they got too far from the door. My heart did a little jump at the thought of my friends running rogue. Hopefully they were fine, and hopefully they were coming to get me.
In the meantime, I attempted to find my own way out of my room, but to no avail. There were no vents or openings in the walls like Newt said they had in theirs, the only entrance and exit being the locked door. I tried just pulling it, knowing it was locked, but soon changed to hitting and kicking at it as much as I could.
Unsurprisingly, it didn’t budge.
“Guess I wait,” I mumbled, sitting back down on the floor, making sure I was facing the door. I listened to the sounds in the corridor, mostly it was guards running and shouting orders. It went quite for a little while until a new set of footsteps were heard, only these ones were a lot more discombobulated. They came with rushed voices filled with confusion that I seemed to recognise as I they came closer.
“She could be in any of them.”
“How are we meant to know which one?”
“Like this,” I’d just managed to identify one as Minho before he screeched at the top of his lungs, “(Y/N)!”
“In here, slinthead!” I called back, getting up and moving to the door. I heard shuffling and then a series of loud bangs before the door swung open only just on its hinges. On the other side stood my friends, the closest being Newt and Frypan who held a fire hydrant in their hands, clearly the source of the noise.
“Well, you all took your time,” I stated, a slight smile on my lips.
“Are you coming or not, shank?” Minho asked, looking up and down the length of the corridor.
“Coming. Definitely coming,” I replied, stepping out of the room and straight into Newt’s arms for a quick hug. “Anyone want to fill me in on what’s happening?”
“These people aren’t who they say they are. They’re WICKED,” Thomas stated, a gun raised in his hands.
“Well I could’ve told you that, but I didn’t realise they were that evil,” I replied, attempting a bad joke as we began making our way down corridor.
“Hilarious, (Y/N). And your timing is excellent,” Minho pats my shoulder as he moves past me, making his way to the front of the group, a smile on his face.
“Thanks, Min,” I reply, taking Newt’s hand in mine as we continue our escape from WICKED’s clutches.

Eighth. part in a series!
Part One; Here
Part Two; Here
Part Three; Here
Part Four; Here
Part Five; Here
Part Six; Here
Part Seven; Here
Newt’s POV
We were out, and free. Free. That’s a strange concept, isn’t it? And the food here. I mean, no offense, Frypan, but this is great food.
“Man,” Minho sighed as we sat at our tables. “I love freedom.”
Winston laughed as well.
“Don't get too comfortable, guys,” Thomas muttered.
“Are you seriously still on about this ‘Aris’ kid?” I asked. “Tommy you gotta let it go.”
“Look, he knows something,” Thomas argued.
We all rolled out eyes and continued on.
“We gotta go,” Thomas said one night.
“Why,” I asked. “Did Aris tell you to?”
“No,” Thomas grumbled. “Believe it or not, it was someone who works for Wicked.”
“Yes,” Minho laughed. “And why is there someone from Wicked here?”
“This is Wicked!” Thomas yelled. “That’s what I’ve been trying to tell you.”
Suddenly, Aris popped out from one of the vents. “If we’re gonna go, we gotta go now.”
Despite not completely believing Thomas, we all filed into the vent and started crawling.
“I need to go do something,” Aris said.
“I’ll go with him,” Winston added.
Those two broke off and we jumped down into a hallway. That’s when the alarms went off.
“Run!” Thomas yelled.
We took off sprinting when we reached a door that wouldn’t open. Even the card we had grabbed off of some poor woman wasn’t working.
“This is the end, Thomas,” we heard Janson say.
“Ratman,” I growled.
I saw the tiles above his head move and briefly wondered what that was when the door behind us opened. Aris and Winston were standing on the other side.
“Hey, guys,” Aris said.
“I was about to say the same thing,” a girl said.
We turned back to Janson. The tiles above his head had been removed and now a girl was hanging down from the ceiling, her (H/L) hair swinging down.
“Is that-” Minho started.
However, some guard of Janson’s guards had advanced, and at this moment, the girl dropped down and landed on one guy’s shoulder’s, taking his gun from him before letting him fall over. She jumped up and shot a couple of the guards.
She then turned to her left and rammed the end of her gun into a guy’s head, successfully knocking him over.
“Well, go on!” she shouted, looking at us now. “Run!”
Her saying that snapped up out of our trances and we turned to the door, that was now closing. We sprinted towards it, getting through before it closed. Thomas and the other girl were still fighting out on the other side, the door now rapidly closing.
“Thomas!” I shouted.
He turned back and slipped under, flipping off Ratman. Finally, the girl slid under the door, just barely making it. The second the door closed, the girl jumped up and ran at me. It took me a moment to recognize who she was, but once I did, I opened my arms wide. She jumped into my arms, wrapping her legs around my waist and wrapping her arms around my neck.
“Newt,” she sobbed.
“(Y/N),” I choked back, keeping one arm securely around her waist and tangling my other hand in her hair.
She was shaking, her tears wetting my neck and shirt, and she occasionally would say something, but I couldn’t tell what she was saying.
“(Y/N)?” Minho finally asked.
I reluctantly let go of her and she dropped down, turning around, but grabbing my hand.
“Minho!” she shouted and ran towards him, giving him a hug as well, but not as grand as the one she gave me.
“Wait,” Thomas said, holding his hands up. “You know each other?”
I nodded and smiled at (Y/N). “Yeah, she was in the Maze with us, before you.”
This made (Y/N) turn back to me and walk back over. The moment she reached me she slapped me.
“That’s for what you did after I left!” she shouted.
I stared at her in awe, holding my face. “How did you know?”
“I saw everything,” she whispered.
I let out a broken sigh and leaned my forehead on hers.
“Look, I’m glad to see you again, Shebean,” Minho interrupted. “But we need to go.”
“Right,” (Y/N) nodded. “Let’s go.”
We had run out the Flat Trans and now we were in the Scorch. We had gathered around in a circle and were telling each other stories.
“What happened after you left, Shebean?” Minho asked.
(Y/N) was currently sitting right next to me, clutching my hand and sitting as physically close as possible.
“Well, I spent a lot of time behind closed doors,” (Y/N) said. “I made a friend.”
“Oh yeah?” I asked her, turning to smile at her.
“Yeah,” she smiled, then frowned. “But they sent him into a Maze. I tried to figure out which one, but they never told me. I can only hope he makes it out.”
“What was his name?” Thomas asked. “Maybe we met him in there.”
(Y/N) smiled again and then addressed the group. “Oh, he was sweet. He was young, but he was sweet.”
I smiled as (Y/N) told stories about this kid. She was very passionate about him. Not in a romantical way, but as if she were his big sister, and all she wanted to do was protect him.
“He would’ve made Alby so mad,” (Y/N) laughed, it was bittersweet. “It was hard to see him go.”
I smiled again, the most I’ve genuinely smiled in a long time.
“His name was Chuck,” (Y/N) smiled.
My smile dropped and Thomas dropped his head. The mood was morose.
“What?” (Y/N) asked innocently.
“We-we met Chuck,” Thomas said. “He died.”
(Y/N)’s grip on my hand was tighter.
“Oh, don’t say that,” (Y/N) tried joking. “It’s not true, is it?”
I could feel her stare on the side of my face.
“Newt?” she asked shakily.
I nodded my head. (Y/N) let out a broken sob and stood up abruptly.
“I-I need to go,” she said.
I stood up immediately after and followed her.
“(Y/N),” I called. “Wait.”
“He was a child, Newt,” she cried, wrapping her arms around herself.
I hesitantly turned her to me and hugged her close, letting her sob again today.

Hello. I guess you are interested in The Maze Runner. Do you write fan fiction?
Maybe in the future. When I say in the future, I mean maybe even the next day. But I'm not a well-known person right now. That's why I don't have the courage.

“Since there were few people in the glade, there was little work. That's why Minho was left empty. After watching the construction for a while, he started walking towards his hut. He wanted to lie naked in his hut in this hot weather.”

Note
Well, I don't know how many people want you to write fiction, but there's definitely at least one person who wants you to write The Maze Runner fiction.
God.Actually I have always been interested in writing a fiction or a story but I have never tried it seriously before and if I fail. I mean I make everything very long, I don't have many ideas for dialogue...But it seems like I want it.Thanks for the support...
