Nossa Senhora de Lourdes: Uma Fonte de Graças e Milagres

No dia 11 de fevereiro de 1858, em Lourdes, uma pequena cidade no sul da França, Nossa Senhora apareceu a Santa Bernadette Soubirous, dando início a uma das mais importantes devoções marianas da Igreja. Essa manifestação da Virgem Santíssima fortaleceu a fé de milhões de fiéis e tornou-se um grande sinal da misericórdia de Deus para os doentes e pecadores.

As Aparições

A jovem Bernadette, com apenas 14 anos, foi à gruta de Massabielle para buscar lenha com sua irmã e uma amiga. Enquanto recolhia os galhos secos, teve uma visão de uma Senhora vestida de branco, com um cinto azul e um rosário dourado nas mãos. A figura tinha um olhar cheio de ternura e um sorriso celestial. Bernadette sentiu uma paz profunda, mas ainda não sabia quem era aquela Senhora.

Nossa Senhora apareceu a Bernadette um total de 18 vezes entre fevereiro e julho de 1858. Durante esse período, fez diversos pedidos:

- Oração e penitência pela conversão dos pecadores.

- Que os padres construíssem uma capela na gruta.

- Que os fiéis viessem em procissão ao local.

- Que Bernadette cavasse a terra, de onde brotou uma fonte milagrosa.

No dia 25 de março, festa da Anunciação, Bernadette perguntou quem era aquela Senhora. Nossa Senhora respondeu com uma frase que impressionou a todos: "Eu sou a Imaculada Conceição". Essa afirmação confirmou a doutrina proclamada pelo Papa Pio IX apenas quatro anos antes, em 1854, que declarava Maria concebida sem pecado original.

O Milagre da Fonte

A nascente que surgiu na gruta tornou-se um símbolo de fé e esperança. Muitas pessoas que se banharam na água de Lourdes relataram curas inexplicáveis. Até hoje, milhares de peregrinos viajam para Lourdes em busca de conforto espiritual e físico.

O Reconhecimento da Igreja

Em 1862, a Igreja Católica reconheceu oficialmente as aparições como autênticas. Santa Bernadette entrou para a vida religiosa e permaneceu humilde até sua morte, em 1879. Hoje, Lourdes é um dos maiores santuários marianos do mundo, recebendo milhões de visitantes todos os anos.

A mensagem de Nossa Senhora de Lourdes ressoa até hoje: oração, conversão e confiança em Deus. A Imaculada Conceição continua chamando seus filhos para mais perto de Cristo, especialmente os que sofrem. Que possamos atender ao seu chamado.

hii, I've been feeling drawn to catholicism since the beginning of the year after being raised protestant with a pretty religious mother. I've found that praying to St Mary has helped me so much with anxiety and getting closer to God, but sometimes i feel like im doing something wrong because I'm not yet baptized and I don't think I can start catechism because my mother would freak out... I have also committed mortal sins in the past and obviously couldn't have confessed yet, could you maybe pray for me to find comfort in God and not let these feelings discourage me? I have a plan to start going to mass once i go to university, but it will be almost a year until then

In another famous Sermon on the Sunday in the Octave of the Assumption the Holy Abbot described with passionate words Mary's intimate participation in the redeeming sacrifice of her Son. "O Blessed Mother", he exclaimed, "a sword has truly pierced your soul!... So deeply has the violence of pain pierced your soul, that we may rightly call you more than a martyr for in you participation in the passion of the Son by far surpasses in intensity the physical sufferings of martyrdom" (14: PL 183, 437-438). Bernard had no doubts: "per Mariam ad Iesum", through Mary we are led to Jesus. He testifies clearly to Mary's subordination to Jesus, in accordance with the foundation of traditional Mariology. Yet the text of the Sermone also documents the Virgin's privileged place in the economy of salvation, subsequent to the Mother's most particular participation (compassio) in the sacrifice of the Son. It is not for nothing that a century and a half after Bernard's death, Dante Alighieri, in the last canticle of the Divine Comedy, was to put on the lips of the Doctor Mellifluus the sublime prayer to Mary: "Virgin Mother, daughter of your own Son, / humble and exalted more than any creature, / fixed term of the eternal counsel" (Paradise XXXIII, vv. 1 ff.).

Pope sends letter to Cardinal Rodé for Madonna of Scutari anniversary

(Vatican Radio)  Pope Francis has sent a letter to Cardinal Franc Rodé, CM, his special envoy at the celebration of the 550th anniversary of the Madonna of Shkodra’s arrival in the Church of Genazzano near Rome, Italy.

The celebration takes place on 26 April at the National Shrine of Shkodra in Albania.

It commemorates the arrival of the Madonna of Shkodra at the Madonna of Good Council Church in Genazzano after the Albanian sanctuary was destroyed by the Ottomans in 1467.

Cardinal Franc Rodé is the Prefect-emeritus of the Congregation for Institutes of Consecrated Life and Societies of Apostolic Life.

De hac re sanctus Ioannes Paulus II clare est locutus qui in visitatione apostolica in Albaniam die XXV mensis Aprilis anno MCMXCIII in cathedrali Scodrensi lapidem benedixit novi sanctuarii aedificandi atque totum Albaniensem populum Matri Boni Consilii concredidit.

His rerum adiunctis diligenter consideratis Venerabilis Frater Angelus Massafra, O.F.M., Archiepiscopus Metropolita Scodrensis-Pulatensis atque Conferentiae Episcopalis Albaniensis Praeses, humanissime rogavit ut eminentem virum mitteremus, qui Nostras vices memorato die gereret Nostramque erga istum populum dilectionem manifestaret. Ad Te autem, Venerabilis Frater Noster, qui, Sloveniae clarus filius, olim pergrave munus Praefecti Congregationis pro Institutis vitae consecratae et Societatibus vitae apostolicae diligenter exercuisti, mentem Nostram vertimus atque Te hisce Litteris MISSUM EXTRAORDINARIUM NOSTRUM nominamus ad celebrationem quae die XXVI huius mensis Aprilis apud Sanctuarium Nationale Scodrense agetur.  

Sollemni ibidem praesidebis Eucharistiae atque Archiepiscopum Metropolitam aliosque sacros Praesules, sacerdotes, religiosos viros mulieresque, publicas auctoritates atque universos christifideles Nostro salutabis nomine. Optamus etiam ut de pondere Marialis cultus in historia Ecclesiae quae est in Albania loquens, omnes adstantes sermone tuo ad diligentiore usque modo viam per Mariam ad Iesum prosequendam cohortaberis.

Nos autem Te, Venerabilis Frater Noster, in tua missione implenda precibus comitabimur intercessionem ipsius Dominae Scodrensis invocantes atque beatorum martyrum Albaniensium Vincentii Prennushi et XXXVII Sociorum. Denique Benedictionem Nostram Apostolicam libentes Tibi impertimur, signum Nostrae erga Te benevolentiae et caelestium donorum pignus, quam omnibus celebrationis participibus rite transmittes.

Ó Virgem puríssima, Nossa Senhora de Lourdes, que vos dignastes aparecer a Bernadete, no lugar solitário de uma gruta, para nos lembrar que é no sossego e recolhimento que Deus nos fala e nós falamos com Ele, ajudai-nos a encontrar o sossego e a paz da alma que nos ajudem a conservar-nos sempre unidos em Deus.

Nossa Senhora da Gruta de Lourdes, dai-me a graça que vos peço e tanto preciso (pedir a graça)
