Dear colleagues, This year's Ars Eletronica Festival 2022 will feature my multichannel acousmatic composition Pulsar (2022) as part of the flowing program MEDIUM SONORUM CONCERT. 10.9. 2022 Pulsar (2022) Hugo Paquete (PT) 10.9. 2022 | 12:48 Pulsar is a multichannel composition that investigates extraterrestrial sound and rhythmic noise radiation as a landscape of vast dynamic audio shapes found across the universe. Short bursts of granular dust and sequential emission are used to transition from chaos to regular music periodicity. This composition proposes a micro and macro sonic study of the concept of pulsars, which can only be seen in regions of the electromagnetic spectrum that are as obscure as powerful unknowns. This piece is a follow-up to the composition developed for Chris Ziegler’s multimedia dance performance Cosmos (2018), which was commissioned, partly developed, and performed at the ZKM Center for Art and Media Karlsruhe. It integrates elements that generate sound and music by utilizing commercial and military satellites, which is established through a process of acquiring and converting real-time sonification of satellite movement data and merging it with midi-data language. It is used to operate musical instruments, both hardware and software. Its significance highlights the satellites’ autonomy as objectionable performers, reactants that make sonic material in an ecosystem of random movements and preset computational music laws. Where science and imagination collide in the realms of auditory perception. Symposium Theme In accordance with the festival theme There Is No Planet B, the Ars Electronica digital music focus at Anton Bruckner Private University will lend its ears to immersive sonic creation as an artistic field of research sonically reflecting our world. Convinced, or at least hopeful, that multichannel speaker environments are capable of more than simply providing virtual substitute surroundings to distract us from everyday life, we want to explore the roles multichannel audio can play in reflecting and furthering our understanding of our social, physical, and biological environment. Statement
My name is Honeytta and I am a third year Visual Art student. I’m not a photographer but appreciate photography a lot. I am so excited for this course as it will be my first platform to showcase my interests towards photography. I would love to challenge myself with the help of this course to bring photography and performance together to narrate not just a story, but my personal story. Since I remember I was fascinated with natural and earthy sounds such as animals, industrials and white noises. What I do is recording found sounds such as shutting a door, cracking a chips or a coughing and use GarageBand app to manipulate them in order to make them sound electronic or acusmatic. I have been inspired by electronic pioneer Delia Derbyshire. Please click this LINK if you are interested to know her . I combine sound with performance and pictures together to create a new sense of static image. I believe sound adds another dimension to the work and it feels like it completes it. I adore performances that are a response to raise an awareness over a subject matter and my goal is to work on a content- based meaning photography with the possibility of adding a sound track to deepen the mood and influence of the art. I use collage and photoshop to give the images a concept. This is my second performance class I am taking. The previous one focused on the space, time, body like Gutai performance art.

Impresionismo musical, es como quisiera –pomposamente- definir mi resiente obra basada acusmatica. El concepto de acousmonium me fascina, concentro la atención en cada sonido, éste es directamente dirigido a cada parlante de manera que en una sala puede haber una cantidad infinita de cornetas todas sonando cuando les toque, realmente es una orquesta de cornetas. La audiencia se encuentra rodeada de éstas y no tiene manera de saber cuando van a sonar.
La música propuesta es para que cada oyente obtenga su propia obra. Cada quien interpreta según su imaginación, percepción y experiencia. Los estados emocionales para cada persona son muy diferentes...

EthnoTech by Hugo Paquete The compositions present in this album were developed in 2010 and published now. This work combines electroacoustic music techniques in an ethnology-technologic approach, with the use of recordings of Tibetan bowls among other informal metal, African orchestra percussion's, jambes and Sabar drums with some classical orchestra details and Turkish "clarinet". The two piece articulate in time, electronic sound modeling manipulation, where electric impulses, glitch and more urban rhythmic accentuate an obscure environment of tension, complemented by the noises of telephone, communications, machines and other electronic devices in a rithmic and noise aesthetic. The sound formal composition was develop to elaborate panoramas, fragmentation and micro rithmic during the course of the play. As if a space of interaction and dialogue between a techno-primitive is contextualized in an ethnology-technology space of the present fragmented information society. Where the primitive is diluted with the technological apparatus in the trans-cultural world.
