I think Garroth should have religious trauma. As a treat.
I think when they find out Aphmau is Irene, he is terrified. Terrified that his actions have earned the all-knowing divine's ire, that the lines he's crossed and ties he's cut deserve the eternal damnation that his teachings warned him of.
I want this little white boy to suffer

𝐖𝐇𝐀𝐓 𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐘'𝐑𝐄 𝐋𝐈𝐊𝐄 𝐀𝐓 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐁𝐄𝐀𝐂𝐇
𝐅𝐄𝐀𝐓𝐔𝐑𝐈𝐍𝐆: garroth, laurance, dante, travis, zane, vylad, blaze, daniel, dottie, katelyn, lucinda, nana, & cadenza
𝐓𝐀𝐆𝐒: fluff, slice of life, headcanons on the characters on a beach vacation!
𝐂𝐖: none!
𝐀/𝐍: justice for not including the zvahl siblings during love love paradise or starlight in mys, rip you guys would’ve loved a beach vacation. anyways it’s summer guys! i’m not even a huge fan of summertime but i kind want to go to the beach?? so weird cause i’m totally a zane when i’m at the beach
𝐌𝐀𝐒𝐓𝐄𝐑𝐋𝐈𝐒𝐓
Tumblr media
𝐆𝐀𝐑𝐑𝐎𝐓𝐇
☆ if it’s a surfable beach, he’s going straight out to the waves
☆ i mean, look at him, he looks like the classic surfer boy from the 2000s
☆ gets really excited if you surf too or want him to teach you
☆ he comes back to slam down some sandwiches before he tries to run back out. you have to pull him back and restrain him to put on more sunscreen and let his food digest.
☆ he always wants to stay or at least come back to watch the sunset over the ocean. it’s the best part!
𝐋𝐀𝐔𝐑𝐀𝐍𝐂𝐄
☆ also goes out to surf with garroth, but he’s not as good so he comes back to shore sooner than garroth does
☆ he’s the guy you go to for getting good beach pics, he just has that good artistic eye
☆ he actually prefers going out to the beach in the evening/at night, loves shell hunting and walking along the boardwalk when everyone is quietly fishing or minding their business. plus the weather is cool! he loves how peaceful it is.
𝐃𝐀𝐍𝐓𝐄
☆ this freakin goober
☆ bro will purposefully let the ball out frisbee fall into the direction of groups of people he wants to talk or flirt with because so he can have an excuse to strike up a conversation
☆ when he gets bored he will be nagging everyone to go eat at the seafood restaurant “it’s like a five minute walk from here and i’m hungry guys, come on!”
𝐓𝐑𝐀𝐕𝐈𝐒
☆ professional swimmer here! well, not really, but he was really good at it in highschool! he competed and everything. someone always has to swim out and yell at him to not go out too far, cause he’s always trying to swim out to the third sandbar by himself
☆ comes back and his face and shoulders/back are always more tan because the sunscreen wore off and he was swimming all the time. (not the pale leg combo, is this just as bad as a farmer’s tan?)
☆ comes back starved from using all of his energy swimming and trying not to drift away from where you guys are on shore, ends upp eating too many sandwiches and everyone gets mad at him cause there aren’t enough
𝐙𝐀𝐍𝐄
☆ lathers himself in lotion and sunscreen and is either staying under the umbrella or dunking himself into the water
☆ he’s really not a fan of the beach, he’d rather vacation in the mountains or something like that, but he still goes since everyone else is going
☆ he just hates the humidity, the texture of the sand, and the stickiness of the salt water. it’s just not his thing
☆ he keeps how miserable he is to himself, but the silly little grumpy pout on his face says everything
☆ like someone get him a drink with a lil spike to it please the poor boy looks like he’s on the verge of death
☆ he’ll enjoy himself a lot more if you give him a sweet treat or if everyone goes to the pool after (except for the…incident)
𝐕𝐘𝐀𝐃
☆ so chill. he’s such a great guy to lounge with
☆ brings a book to read or a sketchbook, loves to sketch the different kinds of people on the beach and what they’re doing. (major people watcher)
☆ something about everyone else being busy and him being there so calm makes it so easy to get into a deep conversation with him, you two could talk for hours and not even realize the time has passed
𝐁𝐋𝐀𝐙𝐄
☆ oh my gosh
☆ he’s all over the place
☆ wants to build a sandcastle! no, wait, that’s too boring! wants to play frisbee! dang it, he threw it too hard and now he’s running through the ocean like a madman trying to get it back from the waves! shell hunting? nah, he’s gonna race that person’s dog down the shoreline cause it barked at him so now he has to show him who’s boss!
𝐃𝐀𝐍𝐈𝐄𝐋
☆ sandcastle building king
☆ spends the whole time dedicated to building the most extravagant castle, hauls a huge bucket of the sand molders and starts digging a moat immediately
☆ someone has to come regularly just spray him down with sunscreen cause he’ll forget the world around him and most definitely get burnt
☆ you might pull him away from building if you offer him a sandwich
☆ eventually you may learn that just bringing an extra umbrella and putting it over where he’s building is the best option
𝐃𝐎𝐓𝐓𝐈𝐄
☆ she wants to be at the beach to play, not relax!
☆ beach volleyball? she’s in until there’s no one left to compete with! (her and katelyn could compete against each other for hours) frisbee? heck yeah, she wants to play frisbee!
☆ she loves going to those outdoor showers to wash off all the sand, then is so excited and looking forward to the crazy good nap she’s going to have back at the hotel/condo/rent house. won’t wake up until everyone decides to go eat at a restaurant for dinner
𝐊𝐀𝐓𝐄𝐋𝐘𝐍
☆ if you can’t find any sunscreen, you can without a doubt go to her and she will have some
☆ gets super competitive with beach volleyball
☆ if no one wants to play volleyball anymore she ventures out into the ocean and doesn’t return until it’s time to leave
☆ if you’re not scared of going out too far in the ocean, she will go out with you to where you can reach the bottom and calmly jump over the larger waves. she could do it all day
☆ she’s another person you have a good bonding talk with while chilling out in the ocean, she opens up to you and you learn stuff you had no idea she had even experienced before
𝐋𝐔𝐂𝐈𝐍𝐃𝐀
☆ opposite of katelyn, has hawaiian tropic tanning oil on her at all times
☆ doesn’t go into the ocean unless she’s ready to go straight to shower off. can’t stand the sticky feeling of salt water and then going back into the sand
☆ is the one who brings the speaker, and she has such a good beach playlist
☆ sunbathes and sips on a drink the whole time, queen really enjoys herself
☆ she goes to whatever nearby beach bar there is to order the drinks that come in pineapples or coconuts and has the umbrellas in them for everyone
𝐍𝐀𝐍𝐀
☆ packs an entire picnic for the beach
☆ like, legit carries a full icebox with a selection of drinks and a bag full of sandwiches, chips, sweets, etc.
☆ is obsessed with seashell hunting! she gets so excited when she finds large or colorful ones. she runs to everyone when she finds a conch shell telling them to listen to the ocean inside of it. brings home a small collection every time and has a box full of (mostly pink) seashells in her room.
𝐂𝐀𝐃𝐄𝐍𝐙𝐀
☆ has so many swimsuits and outfits planned
☆ if yours gets dirty or messed up she drags you to her suitcase to choose from like ten different pairs and combinations you can mix and match.
☆ makes handmade jewelry from different trinkets and shells she finds, she goes hunting for potential charms with nana

Thinking about mcd ages since i am watching through season 1 for the first time in 9 years and these are the ones I’ve been settling on so far:
Aphmau: 26. It’s how old she actually was at the time the series started and it feels like it fits. Perfect. No notes.
Garroth: 27-28. Hes older, more experienced. Lots of shit has happened to him and he acts older and wiser than most of the cast. But he's still young, something aphmau comments on when she sees his face. And it makes sense in relation to zenix’s age.
Zenix: 19. He acts volatile and erratically like a teenager and he would’ve been 11 or 12 when garroth found him as a kid.
Laurence: 25. Just a little younger than aphmau. Acts a bit immaturely (flirting Casanova ladies man) but mature enough to deal with his problems like an adult. (Mostly)
Dante: 22. i feel (especially with how shocked garroth and Laurence are later that he kicks their asses in the 15 year time skip) that he is the younger brother of the trio of guards. While Dante is mature he also was forced to grow up fast so it doesnt contradict his younger age. Also with his backstory of gene fucking up his whole life when he was 12 i dont want him to be without a family for too long ;;
Gene: 29. I think he was 19 when he ruined Dante’s life. so however old Dante is, Gene’s 7 years older.
Zane: 23-24 at first i was gonna have him the same age as aphmau because the two of them are parallels, but a young little shit who thinks he’s wise and drunk on power is better. Also, If hes younger than Laurence it makes that moment in the S1 finale where he called him “little Laurence” really funny.
Vylad: 20-21. he;; He’s just a babey;;; gone too soon;;;
Katelyn: 25. Same age as Laurence. Still young enough that rage and power come naturally to her, but with the energy to back it up.
Nichole: 21. I think that her and garroth were getting arranged to be married during a time where the age gap was really uncomfortable (14 - 20) which would add more layers to why both of them were so staunchly against it.
Lucinda: 27. This is apparently confirmed according to the wiki and i agree i think thats a good age.
Kawaii-Chan/Nana: 24. naive but utimately skilled at her craft that would take years to master.
Zoey: 900+. fuckin old. I love gilfs

Headcannons
Hey! This is a request from @theneighbourhoodferret for headcannons od Dante, Zane, and Garroth's reactions to fem reader picking them up! Hope you enjoy!
Warnings: Slight angst with Zane, Fem reader, slightly ooc I think
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Zane:
HC: Zane would be too stunned to speak, but eventually he'd be into it. He's the middle child who felt so lonely that he tried to turn to the Shadow Knights, so of course he craves any kind of attention that resulted in him getting doted on and babied without being condescended.
Scenario: It had been a long dinner for the Ro'meave family. After everything that happened at the cabin, Zianna insisted the boys come over once a month so she could see them and know how they were and they (knowing better than to upset a woman blessed by Beyonce) quietly obliged.
It wasn't the worst thing in the world most of the time. Vylad was nonconfrontational enough, and Garroth and Zane had actually bonded a lot after everything they'd been through. Not that he didn't think about smothering the big oaf in his sleep from time to time, but there was definitely a deeper understanding and a lot more effort to communicate now.
That being said...their father still tended to rag of Zane when he got the chance, and Zane didn't exactly take it as lightly as he always made it seem. Unfortunately, you had been there, since he wanted to introduce you, which is why Garte thought it would be such a great time to point out every flaw he saw in his son. Fortunately, at least Zane didn't have to explain to you why he collapsed into a puddle of tears as soon as you walked through his front door.
You knelt down next to him, wordlessly placing a hand on his cheek. He leaned into the touch before flinging himself forward to wrap his arms around you for a hug. You squeezed him tightly before gently stroking his hair.
He sobbed into your shoulder. "I just don't know what else I can do"
"Nothing... The problem isn't you." You weren't quite sure if that's what he needed to hear but it's all you could get out at the moment, most of your energy was being diverted to not crying with him and not hunting down his father and beating him black and blue.
A while had passed. You stayed there on the floor with your arms wrapped around your boyfriend until his sobs died into sniffles. Lifting your head you catch a glimpse of the freckles his so desperately tried to hide. His cheeks, eyes, and nose were and puffy and red and the sight alone caused cracks to form in your heart.
He was tired. He deserved to rest. After placing a kiss on his dark hair, you pull his legs around your waist, eliciting an even deeper shade of red to spread across his confused face before you wrap your arms around his waist and stand. Zane's arms wrap even tighter around you and his face has gone back to its usual unnaturally pale color.
"What are you doing!?" He's unnecessarily loud for someone who's face is right by your ear.
You ignore the ringing sound creeping in and proceed to walk towards the bedroom. "I'm taking you to get some sleep. You wore yourself out crying so now you need to rest"
The only proper word to be used is flabbergasted. He had always loved when you held him, but this was another level. How were you even able to do that? Had you been sneaking out to go to the gym and he just didn't notice? Or had you always been this strong? In which case sign him up cause even though his heart was racing out of his chest he was almost certain that after the shock and spontaneous fear of short heights that he didn't have before had passed, he'd be eating this up.
He snuggled further into your shoulder and smiled. Oh, he would so have to keep this under wraps.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Dante
HC: Impressed. He starts asking you to carry him all the time (You usually don't) He even tries to talk you into starting a whole tiktok account surrounding you carrying him. Just thinks it's the coolest thing.
Scenario: You were honestly surprised you'd convinced him to go for a hike with you. Yes, Dante was fairly athletic, but he wasn't really an outdoorsy guy. But alas, here you were, walking back down the trail with your new(ish) boyfriend as he went on and on about the bugs and how he definitely did NOT wear the right shoes for this. It should've been annoying, but you knew he meant well, and he was actually enjoying himself, he was just a yapper and needed to say everything that came to mind.
Ok maybe it was a little annoying... but it was also Dante, so it was cute. Maybe you should've just gone to the gym with him like normal, but you also know he totally only started going so people (girls) would see him working out. Not that it was something that raised a red flag, he didn't even really go when there were other people (girls) since he'd started seeing you, but you did really just want to focus today... which was getting increasingly more difficult as Dante got more and more distracted with the bugs flying around him.
"Maybe I should just carry you" You joked, turning to look at the man's face.
He giggled at the idea. "Can you pick me up??"
Ok that one lit the competitive fire in you. You whipped around and wrapped your arm around his form and holding him in the air for a moment.
The look on his face when you set him down was enough to earn a smirk from you and you began to walk back down the rest of the trail to the car. He races to catch up to you, stars in his eyes as his yapping takes the new turn.
From that point on there really isn't a day that goes by that he doesn't at least bring up the fact that he wants you to carry him or pick him up. It's honestly his favorite thing. "My girlfriend is so strong you guys- no, literally" "Oh it's so cool! Wait let me ask her, I'll prove it!" "Hey honey wouldn't this be so cool" It's really his whole personality at this point. But you're not complaining yet.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Garroth
HC: Honestly, I think he'd get very emotional. He's used to being the strong one who takes care of everyone else and something about knowing that the most precious person in his world can/is willing to hold him, is such a relief that he didn't even know he needed.
Scenario: Being close with Garroth had been like second nature for so long that you were almost surprised it took almost dying at some lodge his dad bought for the two of you to confess your long-standing affection for each other. But now things were better. You were on vacation on an island with all of your friends and everything was finally starting to feel right.
The two of you had taken to sandcastle building wars which really just resulted in pelting each other with sand before running around the island like a couple uncivilized hooligans.
You were on the way back from one of the aforementioned brawls, covered in sand and laughing like children when the sunset caught your eye. You turned to face him with a smile before pointing in the direction of the beach. "Not to be completely sappy but... wanna go watch the sunset? We have to get all this sand off us before going into the house anyway."
His smile reached his ears, and he extended his arm like a proper gentleman. "First of all, I love being sappy with you. Second, I also LOVE that your solution to getting the sand off of us is to go towards the sand."
You scoff at him and smile despite yourself. You shove him slightly and instead of taking his arm you scoop him up bridal style and rush over to the sand, plopping him down in it and dumping a handful on his torso before he quickly bolts upright, bright red. "Did you just carry me over here?"
You blink at him, unsure whether or not he was uncomfortable. "...Yes."
His smile grows wider, you can see tears pricking at his eyes. Slightly panicked you reach out and place your hands on his arms. "Hey if that was too much let me know, I just assumed-"
He leans forward, pulling you into a hug so tight you could feel the purple forming in your cheeks before Garroth let go. He looked you in the eyes, holding your face in his hands. "You're incredible you know that?"
You blush, still slightly confused. "You're worth being incredible for."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The end! Thank you so much for reading, I hope you enjoyed!

MCD KATELYN HEADCANNONS
She cannot hold her alcohol. Two pints in and she is gone and will keep going. She is a very playful and goofy drunk, never violent except will insist that she and Garroth wrestle
She is the type of person to throw small children and catch them. Full running around with two children in her arms and with toss a child into a lake with no hesitation if she knows they can swim.
Aquired the name Katelyn the Fire Fist because during training she punched a man who was being an asshole so hard that his shirt hit a torch and he was lit on fire. Zane gave her similar powers wen she became a jury on nine member because he likes theming.
Was unnerved by Vylad as a child and is slightly afraid of them now as an adult. She just finds him incredibly unsettling, like a funky looking deer.
Cannot fire a bow to save her life, she has a tendency to snap it in half because of her immense grip strength.
Mountain climbed as a child with her dad and brothers, it is how she got so strong in the first place.
She actually comes from a family of lumberjacks but was notced by an O'Khasis guard when she apprehended a bandit after he stole from her brother. She was then enlisted with the encouragement of her dad because he wanted her to have an education. It did result in her having to send them away to protect them from Zane.
Has a small idea of where her family is as there is rumor of a small band of blue haired lumberjacks living in the outskirts of Hyria's forest but she is too afraid to see them again as she blames herself for them having to leave.
She is built like Olympian Ilona Maher except slightly taller as 6' and 210 pounds. Gotta love my beefy women.
She wants kids but does not want to ever give birth. Deeply and understandably terrified of childbirth so if she ever descides to have kids she is going to walk around with Aphmau and wait for an orphan to appear.
Nekoette is her favorite out of the guards at the academy and does not sway any of the rumors that Nekoette is actually her cat bastard child. She, Dante, and Nana find them too hilarious to stop them and Nicole and Dimitri are getting in on it to but claiming that Dimitri is actually her and Nicoles child, and Katelyn had kids with Nana and Nicole.

Since I’ve ended up filling the ranks of side characters with background NPCs and fleshing them out to the point of basically being original characters, I’ve been considering adding OCs with no basis in canon to the mix. I’m already halfway there by giving Katelyn’s unnamed brothers a story, so why not?
For example, members of noble households. Nursemaids and pages and groundskeepers and such.
Kenmur would have had at least one nursemaid when his old village was attacked who would have likely been with him at the time of the attack and therefore likely been the one first able to get baby Kenmur to some semblance of safety and possibly survived as a result. Pages were men or boys employed to be personal attendants to people of rank who might have also done chores and errands for the household or establishment they worked for, and each of the Ro’Meave brothers might have had a page around their own age growing up, Zane might even have the same page he had when he was young still on his service as an attendant when he’s grown. Meteli’s a pretty backwater and casual place, but a Lord’s household is still a Lord’s household and so the Zvahl family probably had a few servants who might have lived in or very near the household, a groundskeeper among them that I think Cadenza would have been close to and learned about flowers from.
There’s also a big thing about succession in MCD, so I’d need to add some heirs and apprentices to the Lords in the various villages, plus actually fill some of the villages we never see in canon. Nahakra needs an heir, so do the Neopolitan villages, I need to figure out Matataki’s whole situation and someone has to fill the void in Boboros’s leadership after Gene killed both the Lord and the heir and they also need a head guard.
I’ve been dabbling with how I’m handling the families of the main and supporting cast that we don’t see or hear about in canon too.
Zenix was an only child and his parents belonged to a sect that worshipped the Destroyer and he grew up worshipping Shad instead of Irene alongside the rest of their small settlement. The settlement was found and divided when he was about ten, and his parents raised him in seclusion where it was safe after that. All three of them died in a house fire Zenix set by accident when he was a teen, and after being brought back Zenix can’t remember much about them due to injuries sustained in the fire.
Nana has an absolutely massive family. In MyS she mentions being the seventh child of twelve. In her clan’s compound in Tu’la there’s the main branch of the clan which includes Nana and her siblings, their parents, a scattering of uncles and aunts and cousins, and any nieces or nephews she may have. Then there’s the vassal clans under them, at least one of which should be a clan of craftsmen so they don’t have to outsource their gear or clothing very often. They also have the servants of the household and possibly their families, any gladiators sponsored by the clan, tradesmen under contract to the clan, and possibly any orphans the household sponsors and trains to eventually make a contract with. There would also be aides and attendants and advisors. When I say massive family, I mean it.
Then we also have a few of the main and supporting cast where I completely fudge the canon. One of Cadenza’s bio parents is a Shadow Knight and that’s why Shadow Knights are always after her. Esmund and Xavier had an older sister, then Xavier had a wife and several kids that turned into the Ro’Meave line. Aaron had a brother who’s only a few years older than Jacob. Vylad has a slew of half-siblings across the continent. Travis has a twin who the Demon Warlock stole away to make his successor when they were young. Kiki and Brendan are estranged from their father and sister. Ein was the unnamed pup from the werewolf tribe near Brightport and was adopted by an older woman from the werewolf kingdom after being split from his tribe. Dante and Gene had a father who they never saw because he was always working, alongside their canon mom and uncle. Malachi has a whole line of indirect descendants because his parents had another kid after he was sent away, and they have old family stories where being turned into a ghost like their ancestor Malachi is what happens to bad kids. Enki and Kul’zak had two kids, one by adoption and the other by magickal means.
This isn’t even getting into my whole Seven Sinners of Virtue thing, which is basically the generation before the Divine Warriors if they were part of a cycle of people whose purpose is to keep the world spinning by whatever means necessary. There’s the Seven, the families, their enemies, and the gods who were worshipped before the Divine Faith came about.
This is. So Many Characters.

infant and innocent
my poor sweet boy
Vylad lore Time!!
so
Vylad was the odd out-of-left-field child that was born 10 years after Garroth and Zane (who are twins in my version cause make that divide even bigger between them) because Adam/garte was believed dead for that ten-year age gap he had a whole odyssey-type quest to return home, tangent for another time.
one tiny thing i changed about the whole vylad not being gartes son thing Eve./zianna didn't cheat he was made using magic because of a whole prophecy that she was told of when she was younger (the whole reason she agreed to marry him) and when Adam "died" Eve made vylad for the prophecy of helping Irene/Abby defeat shad but literally no one knows that until way later. but there is discussion if vylad is actually Adams or not but Adam wants vylad to be his so they play that for looks. but there's always whispers people looking at vylad like he's an abomination but he does have Adam's blood but like in a ritual way not the normal way.
but vylad was born with the ability to see the dead so, "he was seeing things that were not there" so everyone thought he was crazy and some even wanted to burn him at the stake for the monster people thought he was and believedhe was a curse upon the land by his mother which most people did not like cause shes a 💫woman with her own thoughts💫. So long story short in Adam's in sickness(that he got on his journey) controlled state he locks vylad inside the castle Disney princess style and he always had a jury of nine member present with him which only got worse when garroth and zane got put in charge of the jury.(which i had have a whole 10 commandments vibe)
but vylad was a free spirit type of boy curious always escaping his guards wanting to see the world. but then a village finds vylad and burns him at the stake and garroth finds his body TRAMUA💁‍♀️ ensues garroth destroys the entire village then bamn, garroth gets taken over by the sin of pride because him and vylad had a fight right before and garroth refused to admit he was wrong which directly led to vylads death then Eve hides garroth in phoenix drop to protect him from their father who who has just gone crazy at that point.
but after vylad dies he emerges in the nether but from the moment he comes shad can tell vylad will be a problem cause vylad has an uncanny resemblance to kulzak so shad stuffs most his energy and his humanity into the void to be eaten and the husk of him to be him mindless slave but shad is 🌌stupid🌌 and didnt ake into account vylads power his mind is too strong for that to break him and he can still control himself from the void but its super painful but most everything else if very similar to canon like he's the reason abby even shows up and carry the beginning of the shows plot on his fucking back lol
Also side not when vylad and the twins as I will call him no one believed he was vylad at first cause of how different he seemed which vylad feel like and absolute freak like he's been told all his life
sorry if none of this makes sense its 2:30 in the morning and I'm very tired

★彡 ˙🌱. ¡! Vylad Mystreet headcanons !!
Tumblr media
the second character i fell in love with. how cruel it is that he has fuck all going for him. I'll fix that.
korean and white
pansexual (actually this one is just canon) (cole petty ily)
doesn't have like a set label for his gender, and is cool with anything people wanna see him as
will try anything once
will put anything in his mouth
can sleep literally anywhere
i think this man might be the most laid-back, flexible person on the planet.
except towards geese because fuck those things
any time he has slept in a park he has made sure there were no geese around because those fuckers have stolen his stuff before and made him watch as they drowned it
listens to the most underground shit you've never heard and it all slaps (i didnt add this kind of stuff to his playlist though bc i wanted it to. make sense.)
also just listens to underrated music in general (includes just underrated songs from super popular bands)
currently holds an award for being the "funniest man on mystreet" and he didn't even have residency there
kind of has random visions about his friends in his sleep, but he just thinks they're normal dreams and that he misses his friends a lot (oh little does he know.)
used to say the most cryptic shit as a kid and freak his brothers out
being friends with vylad as a kid mustve been the weirdest experience. the kid eats glue, dirt, and moss, befriends frogs, crows, and moths, tells you you've suffered immense turmoil in a past life completely sincerely, and then infodumps about the entire history and process of typewriters for some fuckin reason
im 100% sure all three of the boys have autism and they got it from zianna
while he doesn't really want to connect himself to the ro'meave name (mainly bc of garte), he does love his family to death and sends his mom and brothers post cards every once in a while (when he remembers, mostly)
doesn't really reach out to his family any other way and neither do they. which he understands; communication is a two-way street
tries to stay positive and practice a healthy mindset and self-image, even and especially when he feels his insecurities and sense of self-worth creeping in
knows how to fish with nothing but a shoestring and a good fuckin stick
Loves pickin up good fuckin sticks
also cool rocks
he collects cool rocks from all the places he visits and keeps them in an old jewelry box. he keeps special ones he plans on giving to his friends in the top part of it
always making friends with stray dogs, cats, rats, raccoons, and opossums. someone stop him
has a johnny stein hotel transylvania relationship with his backpack (it literally has everything he owns in it)
knows how to fix and alter clothes
he knows how to do a lotta shit, alright. i don't think you'll find a craftier little guy than vylad ro'meave
except when it comes to fixing a water heater or anything to do with pipes or electrical tbh he hasn't lived in a house in a While
i'm obsessed w the idea that zane had spent so much time and effort trying to get gene to notice him meanwhile vylad enters gene's peripherals for 2.5 seconds and gene's like I Want Him.
poor vylad can't get on zane's better side for shit
owns a few skirts and dresses and high-heeled boots because he can wear whatever he wants
goes to ren faires whenever he can honestly. sometimes as a job!
when his hair gets too long he ties it back into a low ponytail or pigtails until he can get it cut again (doesnt really like having long hair)
wears weird and funky socks
he absolutely has a roblox account
likes to pronounce words wrong on purpose sometimes. mostly by putting emphasis on the wrong syllables
ABSOLUTELY adds extra e's to his words when texting bc thatse good showbiz babey!!
the type of kid where his first word was actually just a full coherent sentence
i'm coming to terms with the fact that he is most definitely a furry (not the type to dress up for it though. he just does artwork)
spent so much of his younger years trying so, so hard to achieve an astounding success to get his father to notice him. feeling like he had to "earn" his place as a ro'meave with him. but, it was a good thing he realized fast that that was never going to happen
because he did achieve some incredible things! he was a perfect child prodigy; on his way to dual enrollment by only his first highschool year
but, he realized, one whole summer with his father home, that all that work to be the perfect son, just like his brothers were, was.. really for nothing, when he saw zane completely break down one night after dinner
so, he dropped the course to dual enrollment entirely, asked to be transferred from o'casis to phoenix drop high, and decided to take more time for himself. figuring out who he is and what he likes. which, is sorta just turning out to be "anything, except the things he doesn't"
but, there's a lot out there still. and, while he still feels like he hasn't entirely found his own sense of self-worth, he's going to keep trying new things and discovering all that he can about himself until he feels whole enough to come home

things i want from ms s7:
- michi returns and crashes the aarmau wedding
- vylad has his main character era where he has to play detective and figure out what's wrong with his family and what exactly went down on starlight because everybody is too traumatized to say what happened (dante & laurance are the watson to his sherlock)
- the shadow knights return for one last slay
- jenny returns and oddly enough becomes besties with aphmau (jennymau toxic yuri ftw. come on, aphmau literally saved the world, she should be allowed to cheat on her fiancee with women as a treat)
- MORE TRAVIS AND AARON INTERACTIONS. the parallels are there! they could bond over being cursed souls and their messy relationships with their (deceased) fathers.
- kimcinda becomes canon. fight me. lucinda and kim are gfs. also emmalyn leaves kim's body and moves onto the afterlife with kenmur and mcd aphmau.
- nana reveals her past and her real name to the rest of the cast. she finally leaves behind her "kawaii~chan" persona, and searches for who she truly is, possibly going on a quest to track down her family with zane.
- make garrance at least implied or give garroth any boyfriend. we deserve one genuine mlm relationship that isn't just played for laughs.
- teony and ivy also return bc i said so.
- zack has a redemption arc and reconnects with aphmau ofc.
- ein's mom shows up as a villain, seeking revenge for her son's death. but when she sees how hurt and sad everybody is, she feels bad and doesn't have the heart to hurt them any further. she also finds out how much pain and suffering her son has caused to everybody, and begins to feel guilty because of how she raised ein.
- ein's ghost haunts the cast and possesses several characters. they eventually have to appease his spirit because it's the only way to get him to leave them alone and put his soul to rest. ein's spirit has very long conversations with all of his enemies — aphmau (they find out they're half-siblings which makes them both feel a mixture of disgust and sadness), aaron (they finally find one thing they can agree on, they both hate their dads, and put their rivalry to rest), blaze, daniel, dottie, rylan, kacey, katelyn, kai, gene, zack and his own mother. [+possibly an ein backstory in flashbacks/animation to finally explain his motivation in detail]. ein finally moves on to the afterlife (HELL ofc).
- elizabeth starts off as the main villain of the season. you think she's gonna do evil stuff and kill people like michael and ein did, and then BAM — halfway through the season she has a reluctant change of heart and semi-redemption arc (with zack's support) and ends up an anti-hero instead. she reunites with her family. katelyn is not happy to see her at all and is still very angry at her. but kacey warms up to her much quicker surprisingly and they spend quality mother-son time together.
- all in all pretty peaceful season with depressing undertones. it's like early, slice-of-life mystreet and late, dark mystreet fused together. there are a lot of red herring villains (michi, ein's mom, elizabeth), but none of them actually do anything evil and all of them have a change of heart. nobody dies.
- the void consumes everything. but the cast ends up creating a new dimension (with the help of the void paradox cast!) and uses the realm breaker to transport themselves into it just before the mystreet dimension is consumed and dies off. the series ends with aphmau and co swearing to build a better world in the new dimension they have created.

ro'meave brother hcs
garroth
- as a teen he would often have to pose for paintings because o'khasisian painters would find his perfect darling face just amazing for paintings. he was basically a model
- he has a very subtle but always active magicks that softens the emotions of people around him, which will calm them down or make them easier to work with, though it doesn't work on everyone ( ex. zane )
- although he loves his mother and his mother clearly loves him, he was her least favorite kid and he could tell. whether it was because he looked like garte or just because he was the oldest he doesn't know
- sometimes he thought about dying his hair black but looking at his reflection for too long and seeing garte in himself made him sick. so he avoided dying it because he didn't want to have to see his own reflection. looking at himself became easier when he ended up getting scars on his face
-he surprisingly has an incredibly week immune system, mostly because as a kid he was rarely allowed to be outside because he had to learn how to be a lord.
- he's known he's probably bisexual since his time at the o'khasis guard academy but he was too busy to think about that
zane
-he's blind in one eye because of an accident caused by garroth when they were really little. neither of them really remember it so there's no bad blood ( over that specific thing at least )
- he thinks it would be easier to make garte respect him if he didn't look like zianna.
- surprisingly before he went down his dark path he was incredibly devote to irene. sometimes he would pray that she could came down and take away all his family's pain
- he wasn't actually born evil like whatever the fuck jess was trying to say when mentioning him as a child. he developed a lot of emotional and mental issues because of how garte treated him and his mother. he was actually a pretty normal child aside from the mental issues that went unchecked and untreated.
- he just wants his family back
vylad
- undeniably zianna's favorite son but gartes most hated.
- he was the only son zianna ever took to meat hyria ( zianna and hyria are friends )
- he actually knows some witchcraft from hyria and he has a few owl familiars that he can see through the eyes of
- he's not actually emotionless as a shadow knight, only shadow knights who's souls and minds have degraded are emotionless. cutting out his emotions and not letting himself feel was his way of coping with everything. shadow knights are Not reliable narrators when it comes to emotions
- he once had a crush on a boy and he got so nervous talking to the boy he ran away everytime he saw him
- he died tragically young, barely an adult

MCD Little Details and Plot Points I Forgot pt. 2
Season one, around episode 84 to 94?
(basically my thoughts and notes about the series)
• Garroth says that he’s feels as though Laurance is like his brother and he was never able to experience this type of relationship with his own brothers (although he only mentions Zane so it makes me wonder if Jess hadn’t made Vylad his brother yet, or if talking about Vylad is too painful for Garroth.)
• Also, in my headcanon I feel like Garroth is developing feelings for Laurance and he tries to rationalize it as brotherhood. I feel like the monarchy that O’Kasis basically is, most likely prioritizes continuing the bloodline. Maybe this just started as a way of continuing Esmund’s legacy/power but as O’kasis became more powerful and corrupt it became more about creating dynasty that wouldn’t end. So gay relationships are probably frowned upon and personally I feel like at this point Garroth hadn’t considered being in relationship with a man and wasn’t fully aware it was an option. For me, I headcanon him as bisexual so possibly Garroth knew he was attracted to women and never thought more about his sexuality choosing to ignore any other feelings he had for anyone other than women.
• Anyway, Garroth then states that he hates seeing Laurance in pain from the Hayden’s death and feels like it might be worse than when he’s a shadow knight. Aphmau, of course, disagrees with this.
• Laurance struggling with his emotions while he thinks Hayden is dead shows the mental turmoil he’s experiencing as he balances his emotions as shadow knight.
• Aphmau inspects the crime scene so Laurance doesn’t have to see it. :((
• Laurance accidentally calls Aph “love” when he was exhausted. :((
• Laurance is able to sense when Aph is in danger? It happens twice the first time when they save Candenza and then when Aph is attacked by Aaron. It seems he just knows something is wrong and then just shows up.
Which is interesting considering that he and Aph seem to just have a connection since he became a shadow knight. Honestly, Laurance might’ve had some sort of untapped magicks before he was turned. Like when Laurance was stuck in the nether his image or consciousness was projected into the overworld and caused Levin to levitate/walk. That seems to be abnormal for when someone becomes a shadow knight. Maybe through coping with his transformation Laurance unknowingly manifested a bond/connection to Aphmau with whatever magical capacity he had.
Or, the bond was created simply because Aph is the person who Laurance must kill in order to become a fully fledged shadow knight. So Laurance then has a heightened sense of Aphmau’s status and location. Which, ironically, serves Laurance in being a better protector of Aph.
Ooor, even simpler, Laurance just has heightened senses in general and he’s always making sure Aph is alright using them and the Levin incident earlier in the season is irrelevant.
• Aphmau and Laurance have that hug moment in the woods outside of Phoenix Drop where he asks to always be by Aphmau’s side and earlier asks to keep Cadenza’s gift a secret.
• Aphmau chooses to keep both of these things a secret from Garroth, which he probably realizes he’s not being told everything that happened on the trip. Then Laurance wears a helmet for a couple days out of embarrassment. So, Garroth most likely thinks more happened between them than actually did. His jealousy probably started to grow more from this trip and he started feeling like he was being left out.
• Laurance asks Cadenza to watch over Garroth when they think he’s sick. :((((
• Laurance immediately steps up as head guard when everyone thinks Garroth is sick and makes sure everything is okay.
• Dante eats breakfast with Zoey and the kids and that’s the first time he’s been in her house. (I’m surprised how short of a time Dante has been in the series by the time we reach the end of season one, like as a kid I remember it being so much longer than it actually was.)
• Aaron second act as a character in the series is to threaten Aphmau and the village. (I’m so sorry to the Aaron stans out there but I can’t stand his ass and I can see the vision Jess was trying to go for but his character development was just everyone outside of him acting out of character).
Like I love a good “enemies to lovers” trope but Aaron pointing a sword to Aphmau’s throat wasn’t that. When something like that usually happens it’s like omg they have so much tension and they cross swords a couple times then they have dramatic banter that lets you feel that they’re is something more to their relationship than “enemies.”
Instead, we have Aaron knocking Aphmau over then pointing a sword to her throat. Then he threatens to kill her because he assumes without knowing her that she’s a selfish lord and only lets her live because she also hates Zane. But, he forces Aphmau to not tell anyone he’s there or else she’ll be putting her entire village in danger. HE IS QUITE LITERALLY CAMPED A SHORT WALK FROM APHMAU’S HOUSE WHERE SHE AND HER CHILDREN SLEEP EVERY NIGHT. That’s awful, man. Jess acts this out by constantly touching her throat so it’s kind of reasonable to assume that if they weren’t blocks the sword was probably directly pressed to Aphmau’s neck. Like I know, Aaron really isn’t that bad and he wasn’t talking about HIM hurting the village. He was actually talking about other people who after the pendent and this would put the village in danger. But, as the viewer and someone who’s seen the series before I have that knowledge as an outsider. While Aphmau in that scene only has the knowledge that if she’s says something wrong or lets other people know he’s here it will put everyone in danger.
Like Laurance comes up to Aph immediately after it happens because he felt she was in danger. He says she looks pale, distressed, and asks her if she’s been crying!!! Aphmau was terrified for her safety. That’s not a good beginning to a romance in my book! If the scene was framed differently where Aph had some autonomy in that scene like maybe she defends herself from Aaron then they begrudgingly come to agreement that he can stay that would be different. But instead he demands that Aph doesn’t tells anyone or else she’s in danger along with her loved ones. Anyway, I dislike this scene and Jess probably would have retconned it if she got to that point in Rebirth.
• Moving on! Laurance checks her temperature and makes sure she’s okay. He even tells her that he can carry her home if she’s too tired. Then he even takes the wood that she gathered and finishes the task for her so she can go home to her boys!
• Then, Malachi immediately blows up and Zoey cries because she feels like she’s a bad mom (even though she’s quite literally raising Aph’s kids for her but Zoey’s got trauma so I get it.) Aphmau reminds her that’s she apart of the family and isn’t upset with her. I love them so much!

I think garroth was the golden child, vylad was zianna’s affair baby, and zane was the child who was supposed to “fix” the family. it never worked, of course — so garte decided just to fixate on garroth, his “perfect” son who came before everything went wrong, and began to heavily favourite him and emotionally neglect the other two. zianna fixated on zane, obsessed with the idea of fixing her marriage and their family as his birth was supposed to do, showering him with attention and affection. both leaned away from vylad because he was a reminder of what nearly broke their marriage, made even worse by the fact that he resembles his biological father rather than zianna or garte.
more under the cut !
garroth realised the way things were first, and tried to at least maintain his relationships with his brothers the best he could. he would do his best to shift attention off of himself to vylad. like when his father would congratulate him for making the baseball team at school, he would say “thank you! hey, did you know vylad did [x]?”. garte never cared and it just made vylad feel worse, even though garroth had good intentions.
vylad obviously suffered as the forgotten middle son, and doesn’t even bother to contact his parents after he moves out — he would have wanted to keep in contact with zane, but he hated vylad. garroth is the only one who still has contact with vylad into adulthood. he would be able to get away with much more than garroth or zane when he was a kid cause his parents never cared about what he had going on. they were lucky he was just sneaking out to meet up with friends rather than. idk. doing drugs or some shit.
zane hated vylad for ruining the family, influenced by how zianna would use him as a therapist when he was younger, and he hated garroth for being the favourite between both their parents. he realises as he becomes an adult vylad nor garroth were actually at fault, but it was their parents’ fault. any misbehaviour that he did exhibit during childhood zianna would baby him through, and he slowly started to resent her too.
zane does his best to repair his relationship with garroth when they’re adults, but as he’s not in contact with vylad, he can’t do much there. even worse, he’s horrible at admitting when he’s wrong, so when both his brothers are in town he doesn’t voice his feelings.
and vylad goes on believing that zane still hates him. but he kind of comes to be at peace with his lifestyle without most of his family and doesn’t care all that much.

why? please explain the soldier, port, king in excruciating detail PLEASE
EDIT: ITS FINALLY DONE i'm so sorry this took me like six months I got really busy with school work and I wanted to make sure I wasn't half-assing this anyway thank you for asking please enjoy
For reference I will be quoting the “Poet Soldier King” test on uQuiz as I feel they summarize each role most succinctly.
"You wonder, sometimes, if anger is the only thing you can feel. Remember: love is passion too. You made your own rules and will follow them to death. You try and forget that there is only one rule, and that it is "FIGHT". You are tired of fighting. You try to forget that, too, and keep going. You dream of quiet. Your love is where you heal." -Soldier
It's a subtle element but Vylad’s entire character/existence is about enduring conflict. It's an easy thing to forget due to his calm demeanor, but Vylad has been fighting since the moment he was born (hell, even before). Fighting the ill-contrived gossip of being a bastard son, fighting to prove himself a genuine Ro’Meave, and fighting against Garte and Zane’s abuse over his childhood. It’s a subtler form of conflict, but it’s very interesting to imagine how he was able to put up with all of it (I’ve planned so many prequel fics about the Ro’Meaves you guys). Then there’s the whole shadowknight topic that really is indicative of itself. Vylad's whole arc was based upon leaving behind the violence of his past as a literal soldier within the Shadow Lord's army. Again it’s really easy to forget but this is someone who was revived to burn the world to the ground and slaughter any and every man, woman, and child that got in the way of it. He told Aphmau himself in season 2: “One good deed does not fix a thousand wrongs done. I'm not a good person, let's just leave it at that. Please.” We may not have seen it on screen, but who knows how long Vylad was traveling with Sasha and Gene. I doubt Phoenix Drop was the first village they targeted, and I doubt Gene or Sasha or even Zenix were ever like “oh yeah you can wait outside while we commit atrocities on this Lord and his family and burn the whole village to the ground.” Vylad has a very practical mindset (another trait indicative of a good soldier), and it wouldn’t surprise me if he was purposefully good at his job so it would land him more opportunities to get out of the nether now and again. He enacted violence well enough that he was trusted to be sent outside the nether to go fuck up the overworld. Vylad is a man thoroughly haunted by war and the violence he’s committed against others in a way his brothers just… aren't. Sure, Garroth knows fighting and violence as a means of protection and ensuring the safety of others, but he doesn’t know war. He’s never had someone he cared about die in his arms. He’s never seen a whole village burn to the ground and see innocent people slaughtered left and right. He’s never seen a child screaming at their dead mother to get up. He may use violence, but he was never a violent person. Zane, on the other hand, most definitely was, however, but he hardly ever enacted any of the violence himself. 90% of the time it was jurors or guards he’d given orders to. And while he was more than happy to get his hands dirty every once in a while, he never felt genuine consequence from it.
Continuing on Vylad’s inner psyche, we see after he still keeps a very practical, soldier-like mindset out of the nether in company with Aph and Co: He gets annoyed at Aphmau when she puts off telling everyone about the Tuu’la invasion. He surveys Laurance from a distance and does not interfere even in danger because he’s aware of the long term effect of distrust it would cause him. Upon the chaos in Narhaka, he immediately goes to burn books that have important locations the enemy could use against them. This is actually one of my favorite scenes because of how subtly status-quo breaking it is. Tell me right now of any scene involving book burnings done by a guy the audience is supposed to root for. Vylad’s view of the world makes him incredibly pragmatic and able to calculate the win-loss ratio of his actions and let that decide whether or not he will go through with it.
Vylad may not have the typical surface-level look of the characters often put into the category, but if you really dive into his past, his mindset, and the way he views the world, he easily fits into the role of soldier; with the final line “Your love is where you heal” setting him on the path of redemption we see throughout the whole series.
"Loneliness. Strength. Joy. You are powerful, but struggle believing it. You think you're not enough. Here's the truth : you are. You sing songs and hope they carry faith, because you have run out of it, and yet you still throw your heart out to the world and hope it makes it through. You convince yourself that pain is art because at least then, you will always have something to create. You are tired of stumbling through life. You dream of a ground you can stand on. One day, you will dance. Your love is where you feel - without fear." -Poet
Now I admit for Zane it does require a more particular perspective to place him as poet, but I’ll start simple and slowly transition to red string and corkboard. Firstly, from the original song lyrics, “He will slay you with his tongue” applies in at least two different ways. The first being obvious: Zane is incredibly charismatic- you don’t just make it to High Priest without a certain degree of people skills included but not limited to negotiating, preaching, and being able to reason your way through any theological question a questioning sinner could ask you. It’s a shame we don’t see it put into use very often throughout the series, but I think his position gives enough testament to his people skills. The second way this line applied is a bit more literal and a bit more dark, which would be the sheer amount of people who were murdered not by his hands directly, but on mere orders. He can quite literally have people slain in just a few words to the right people. Moving to the more esoteric; the line “You are powerful, but struggle believing it. You think you're not enough.” seems like it be a hitch to his characterization, as it first invokes the idea of someone who lacks self-confidence, which is FAR from what we see Zane characterized as in the story. However I see this from the lense of artists becoming blind to the depth of their own skill. Zane is powerful, but it’s not enough for him. He’s become so accustomed to the level of influence he holds he’s become desensitized to it, like how you stop feeling the cold of the water once you stay in it long enough.The power he’s been swimming in his entire life no longer brings that vitalic shudder of control he craves. Thus he seeks power that goes beyond mortal influence to raw, unchanneled divinity, as that’s the only thing that he has ever been told is above him. He hungers the same as any artist— to be something greater than they already are.
“You convince yourself that pain is art because at least then, you will always have something to create.” The idea of creation draws back to Zane’s relationship with control and divinity. I think it's highly debatable as to whether or not Zane has actual “faith” in the divine (i.e, seeing them as gods he wishes to emulate or simply as extremely powerful beings minus the religious element), but in either case it again leads back to desire for more. (sidenote: Zane’s fatal flaw being lust is such a delicious piece of irony and I could make an essay of its own on it). Anyway, back to the point I was originally trying to make: Zane sows pain and destruction as a means of asserting his power/importance both to others and himself. The “pain” spoken of would normally belong to the poet themself— but this is no ordinary poet, and there is no specific indication where said pain emerges from.
"Duty. Strength. Resignation. You were told to do things and you did them. The world is something that was put into your hands and that you must deal with - so you will. You have a rigid back and steady hands, either metaphorically or physically. Is it nature or nurture ? You don't know. You are tired of being steady. You dream of feeling alive. Not that you aren't, but, sometimes, it's hard to remember that there is a heart between your ribs. Your love is where you breathe." -King
God where do I start. “Duty. Strength. Resignation” It’s like someone just said ‘describe Garroth in three words’. Duty has been his entire life, wanted or not, which leads directly into resignation. “You were told to do things and you did them.The world is something that was put into your hands and that you must deal with - so you will.” He learned his history. He learned the politics. He followed the dogma. He believed in Irene and his father and the glory of O’Khasis and his divine duty to lord over its people. His people. He said it himself in episode 68 he wanted to be exactly like his father, and that he thought to be lord was an honor and a privilege. To him, the weight of the world has rested upon his shoulders for so long that he becomes accustomed to each additional hardship quickly and quietly, never kicking up a fuss about his growing stress and dissatisfaction, like a frog in a pool of water that is steadily increasing in temperature. He locks his festering disdain for glorification of leadership away from his father, his family, and the rest of the world because he cannot show that he is anything but the Atlas of duty he was born to be.
Until, one day, he has enough. He saw what happens to his dear little brother, likely the only person he felt he could truly bond with, and despite everything he still dealt with it, for the sake of the people around him, but when his father commands him to marry a girl he has never met (likely while he is still processing his grief) in the name of ‘duty’, it is the straw that breaks the camel's back. He sees that everything he has worked towards is meaningless as he will never reach a point where his father will be satisfied with him. That his father will continue to take and take from him until there is nothing left but a soulless puppet that will continue to speak his words even after his reign has ended. Every burden he has carried, every grievance he has hidden, every struggle he’s overcome and the hard work he’s put into building himself a true heir of O’Khasis— it all amounts to nothing.
So he leaves.
Now, let me ask you: what would you do if you were a runaway prince escaping the crushing weight of expectation? Take a bunch of money from your no-good dad? Buy a boat ticket and live a new life in luxury on the other side of the world? Never work a day again and dive head first into careless relaxation? Surely, you wouldn’t look twice at a dilapidated little village on the coast. Wouldn’t bother to stop by and lift a finger to help it. You're free, you have a whole life of sweet exemption to look forward to. You wouldn’t give it the time of day.
“You have a rigid back and steady hands, either metaphorically or physically. Is it nature or nurture?”
Garroth finds himself in Phoenix Drop— a rickety dead-end little town as far away from home as possible. He stays, and he helps. He keeps the village running, he helps the Lord wherever he can. He takes in the broken, starved boy he finds in the woods. He does whatever he can to improve the lives of the people around him. Why? He owes them nothing, he’s spent a lifetime crushed under the weight of people's expectations and he turns around just to find himself carrying the weight of more lives on his shoulders. He is doing everything he was taught and everything he ran away from.
But this time it’s different. This time, he sees how he’s helping. There’s no more grating voice telling him none of the effort matters. He has a rigid back and steady hands, metaphorically and physically. For the first time in his life, he can see with his own two eyes that his effort is worth it. There isn’t doubt and lies and corruption floating in and out of his mind. Just the warm, honest smiles of the people he helps. He feels it and it is real. The question “Is it nature or nurture?” is genuine: Is Garroth helping these people out of the kindness of his heart or because it was what he was always told to do, and now that he is without the purpose he was assigned he’s leaning on something familiar? Personally, I think that’s for the audience to decide. I myself would say a mixture of both, leaning more so towards nature. But I digress.
It’s better then, when he helps and can see that he is doing good, but of course, that peace is not to last him. With the Lord’s death and impending turmoil of Phoenix Drop, Garroth’s role in the village shifts drastically to closer resembling the role he ran away from. People are treating him with near as much kindness anymore, no. The most forgiving are losing faith and the least are blaming him. Blaming him for failing to meet their expectations. Now, as things are deteriorating, he has more than enough reason to leave. He gave it the good ol’ college try, and he failed. With the sentiments of the village becoming scarily familiar to that of his father, he should just say “fuck it” and head on off to that faraway land where no one will know his name.
But still, he doesn’t. We see him in Rebirth and how desperate he is to fix the village, to make it work. Even when everyone else is telling him to give up, he refuses. Even sinking, a captain stays on his ship. (Side note: it’s scenes like this that cause me to start tearing up people’s lawns whenever I see takes that label Garroth as having a “fear of responsibility”). And he is completely ready to either make things work or die trying, regardless of what stands in his way.
‘You are tired of being steady. You dream of feeling alive. Not that you aren't, but, sometimes, it's hard to remember that there is a heart between your ribs.’
Aphmau wasn’t the first person he saved. Zenix had likely been around for at least a year beforehand. However Zenix was a hothead teenager in need of guidance, which simply made him become another responsibility Garroth set upon himself. Don’t get me wrong, he definitely cares for him, but their relationship is far different than the one he has with Aphmau.
With Aphmau, he finally has someone who shares the burden. Not only that, but sharing it willingly and with a smile on her face. He’s not used to having a person who presents themselves as an equal sharer of responsibility. Much less, someone who is willing and wanting for him to put his burdens on her (At least, that’s how he sees it). He can’t remember the last time he truly allowed himself to be vulnerable with someone. All the desires he’s pushed down start to bubble back up again, and he starts to imagine things he’d long tried to do away with. He sees Aphmau as a strong leader, one whose idealism is a strength and not a weakness, and how she accomplishes things he never quite got around to doing. An admiration grows for her, yes, but that’s not what makes her different. The difference, he sees, is her vulnerability. How she allows herself to be vulnerable around him. How despite the brave face she puts on, she has just as much fear that she isn’t enough. And she tells him this, directly, because she trusts him. And all of a sudden he realizes that if she can be strong to the rest of the world, and yet still let him see her weakness, her softness, then maybe, just maybe
“Your love is where you breathe.”
He can take his armor off, too.

Posting headcanons on here cuz that's what the cool people do on this app (or so I've heard)
Mystreet addition!
• Travis and Sasha are cousins, that didn't know they were cousins until post season 3 (I basically looked at them both and basically said; "this would be some good family drama")
• Dante got a tongue piercing because Gene dared him to get one
• Travis and Sasha used to sneak off Friday nights to hang out without anyone knowing
• Aphmau and Zane had SOME feelings for each other post season 1 (I adore Zanemau)
• Katelyn and Travis were pretend dating for like the majority of mystreet
• Travis was given SO mucuch money by Michael even tho Micheal was only giving Travis a SMALL portion of his money per month, Travis still has too much money till this day
• Garroth can't and I mean CAN'T be trusted near a stove
• Laurance semi knows how to cook, he knows the basic at least because of Cadenza
• Zane is a baker and cook
• Vylad took a part-time job that ended up becoming his job for like 2 years (he was working at a flower shop) until he moved to a fashion industry with Zane
• Zane was a designer when he signed up for a fashion industry and then got into modeling due to one of his work colleagues convincing him to try it
• Zianna taught his 'sons' how to sew stuff
• Lucinda is just the same Lucinda from mcd, she's immortal okay?
• Michael is very ancient and used metal rulers to punish Travis, most times about lower than average grades that he gets (aka anything under an A)
• in middle School Travis was the definition of "President perfect" he was likeable by everyone he was naturally pretty and was always one to show up early also a straight A student
• Dante till this day still doesn't understand how he and Travis became friends in middle School, Travis is like this goddess while Dante was some late average grade normie
• Laurence took ballet
• Gene almost got sent to a violin academia by his mom cuz he was so good at violin
• Dante had a 'little' crush on Travis but decided to just back away from that she tried to ignore it since Travis and Katelyn are "Dating"
• In high school Zane and Vylad betted on how gay Garroth was, whoever won that bet even if it's years later had to do whatever the person who won said, and if it's something expensive then it'd be a one-time
• Garte is actually better in my universe (I can't fully defend him yet, all I can say is that he did help Zianna through tough times)
• Vylad and Zane has the same father but Zane is still older then Vylad by a few Days
• Vylad and Zane are twins even if they don't look like it
• Vylad and Zane would hang out in secret always anytime they can hang out
• all the Ro'maeve brothers are multilangual
• Travis speaks so many languages, (list; English,French, Spanish, Korean, Japanese, mandarin, Malaysian, Italian,German,Tagalog,Arabic,Russian,Thai, Vietnamese,Icelandic,Polandic, that doesn't include the fact he knows sign language and Morse code)
• Travis and Gene both knows sign language and would talk shii about people and also gossip in private while not being in private
• Sasha knows sign language but doesn't bother to tell anyone she's here for the gossip
• Dante and Zenix is fed up with Gene and Travis and started communicating through
• Travis understands Morse code only because Dante taught him, but Dante thought Travis forgot how to do Morse code which was his own problem
• Travis barely remembered anyone from the street when he first moved in with the guys, it was so strange that even other people that barely knew Travis was interested
• Lucinda try to figure out what was happening with Travis but had no idea, her magic doesn't extend to ancient magic anymore since she has modernized her magic. Even with the blockages she has she tries to figure out what's wrong Maybe by a potion but she found no specific potion that could do it most of those potions were illegal and she sense no specific potions she sense Magic
• but Lucinda never stopped searching for why Travis didn't remember anyone besides Dante, since there was no record of any major accidents involving Travis or the valkrums
• Micheal gave Travis a box of crystals cuz he had a obsession with crystals (still do) and Travis was shocked by the amount of emeralds there was in that box there was around 50 something emeralds if counting the broken shards, if counting the whole emeralds there would be like 35 which is still a lot
• Terry once threatened Micheal to turn his physical form into a relic due to a factor that Michael was trying to erase an important memory and Terry wasn't having it that day
• Travis would endlessly rant about crystals to Vylad which had started to make Vylad actually interested in crystals and start looking into them and then got obsessed over it with Travis
• Dante as a teen was a hoarder, he grew out of it eventually
• Gene, despite being a horrible person in general in high school, he tried his best to be a better person around Dante trying not to influence him cuz he is far much more aware the fact that Dante can be influenced by him and he does not need Dante to be on his level of trouble
• Gene is far nicer to Travis than other one of Dante's friend, most likely due to the fact there was already this out of nowhere trust bond that existed when Dante first introduced Travis to Gene
•Zane had braces throughout freshman year and no one noticed cuz he had a mask on, then he got retainers mid season 3
• Zane is diagnose autistic
• Garroth and Aphmau is undiagnosed ADHD even though Travis has multiple time told them to get diagnosed due to the fact of the symptoms they had visibly and every time they always have this conversation;
"well are you a psychologist?"
"No"
"then how can you see the ADHD symptoms?"
"Cuz I have ADHD!"
"oh..uhm well you pay for a psychologist then!"
And then Travis actually gets them appointed to a psychologist for a ADHD diagnose and they got an actually official diagnose because of Travis and his ridiculous amount of money
• Vylad is dyslexic and Travis would spend hours after school in the library with him teaching him stuff, even if that means getting home late which Michael usually don't mind cuz he's never home until midnight Vylad got his permission card to stay late from his mom
• Vylad is the reason Zane is into my little horsey, Vylad actually introduced Zane to so many cartoons that now they can binge watch any kind of cartoons that Vylad puts on the platter
This whole post is just me ranting about stuff I wish were canon but isn't Canon, but hey no one can really stop me from posting this :]

Today’s character of the day isssss… *drumroll*…
KATELYN!
you sent me this a whole day ago
anyways
Katelyn, in LR, talking about that... or, well, pre-LR mostly.
below the cut, because this will be a long post and i'm polite.
tw, torture, gladiator-style fighting pits, cannibalism (mentioned once in relation to Avra)
Katelyn is a member of the Jury of Nine, still, of course. She's the FireFist, named not only after her magicks, or her gauntlets, but her attitude also.
She was part of a sort of trial done by O'Khasian nobility, to see how successful a fighter they could breed if they raised them under specific conditioning, with the kind of training that guards would but at a far younger age, with far less exceptions for rule-breaking. As the daughter of a noblewoman, Katelyn was put into this training at a very young age, taken away from the rest of her siblings and her father.
She grew up under the observation of Garte Ro'Meave, who wanted to inspect how trained children were coping, and thus knew the Ro'Meave brothers personally, and even began considering Vylad a friend at a pre-teen age (despite being a year or so his senior).
She also grew up alongside janus, who was also in the training, though he was taken out of it as a teenager to go under the direct employment of the Ro'Meave estate, as personal guard to Zane after the untimely death of the prior holder of the role. Her and Janus never really got along, though their relationship wasn't particularly malicious until later on, as both were two of the most ruthless in their class. She was grateful when he left.
Katelyn was not the best in her class, and had it been Garte's choice, or even the former High Priest's, she never would've been picked for the Jury. There were those in her class more skilled, more palatable, and she was far too brutal and unpredictable. But, Zane was in charge of hiring at this point, and he thought that he could manipulate the teenhood angst that she had (this was shortly after Vylad's death, leaving her rather emotionally vulnerable).
However, of course, being angsty and angry, she would act out against the Jury and Zane often (including, if not especially, when matters involved Janus). This meant she often got assigned to the fighting pits, as a sort of PR thing to show off how scary the Jo9 are, to keep people in line. Eventually she got used to hanging around, making bets, drinking with the patrons, getting a bit of a friendlier rep with the usual crowd that watched. Which was how she ended up meeting Jeffory. He was actually one of the fighters, put in there as a punishment for physically intervening with a public whipping, and Katelyn ended up getting a lot of money with her betting every time, due to Jeffory kind of tipping her off whenever he was going to throw a fight. However, with a winning streak like Jeffory's, eventually a juror ended up in the pit with him. and Jeffory won. It was Katelyn's idea to invite him into the Jury, since she could tell he would be an ally, and she felt like she needed more of those. Zane accepted... Jeffory was a REALLY good fighter. And some small part of her saw Vylad in him... which is totally not because i made a joke of 'haha jeffory and Vylad look similar, maybe Visher's got more bastards running around than he realises'.... totally.
With Jeffory as an ally, she ended up getting a little softer. He had a family prior to the pits, and she ended up meeting them, and they welcomed her in, and she was finally in a semi-normal environment. Obviously, still a juror, so that sucked, but she ended up forming a personality outside of fighting and aggression thanks to having a decent friend in her life. Which meant that she had a lot of trust and faith in him, even if she didn't particularly agree with him all the time.
So, when he got arrested for intervening with something again, and she knew the only punishment left for him was death, she listened to anything he said. And, if he said 'go find the little cannibal prophet in the east' she would ask for the quickest route there. and he did, so she did, and then we meet her glorious self, angry at everyone who holds the Ro'Meave name, and desperate that Avra was who she convinced Jeffory she was... or that she could at least pretend to be.
everything past that is all gravy -- you know, LR plot and whatever. Angsty storylines with the main cast, and with Vylad, and Travis. seeing something of her brothers in Dante. Being so so gay and so so messy, and having a history of dating the most awful women. you know the general gist.
Another messy bisexual in the roster.
Also, her fire-fists are magicks, and i'm on-and-off about her being of Menphian descent, but she, at the very least, takes the Menphian role on the Jury (since each Juror; of which there are 7, 9 refers to their principles; represents a Divine Warrior.) Her magicks includes being able to set her skin on fire, enhanced strength, heat resistence, and having increased durability. With the Jo9 amplifications, she has a few more abilities in her arsenal, however it does slightly dampen her fire to be localised in her fists, as it made them easier to control.
She's also minorly freaked out by shapeshifters/changers, like Travis and Avra, because she's not a great read on people and the idea that she might mistake an enemy for a friend, or vice versa, isn't very appealing.

This was supposed to be a timeline for all the mys ships that did/might happen in my rewrite(which isn't even started but shh). It ended up being just me ranting about mys!Garrance.
At first, it follows smh. But then. It's just me rambling. Well. It's me rambling in general.
tw for mentions of homophobia and smoking.
Now, now, i think i've been neglecting these two recently. Honestly I don't even remember how I started shipping them but I did, and years later here I am, still drawing and writing about gay block men.They're literally engaged in mys and no one is convincing me otherwise(<- this whole thing will get its own post eventually). Uhm, okay, now that I got that out of my system, maybe I should give some actual hcs.
◇ Garroth is a year older than Laurance.
◇ They used to be close friends when they were little(most of the mys cast knew eachother in childhood at some extent), but once they entered their teenage years they grew apart,and the fact that Garroth and his family moved away when Garroth started high-school not helping their situation.
◇ Garroth did his freshman year and a bit of his sophomore year in O'Kasis Academy, but due to not being able to fit in ended up moving to Phoenix Drops High(after a lot of complains and pleases from him and Zianna towards Garte).
◇ Well, when he got in PDH, Laurance has been there already for like half a year(he was a freshman), and was already hanging around the Shadow Knights, so as you may imagine Garroth and Laurance didn't really got to interact a lot.
◇ In that summer, Laurance and Gene broke up for unknown reasons. The entire school, of course, found out about that.
◇ Garroth did try to get closer to Laurance that year. It did not work.
◇ Laurance spent that year mostly alone, with the daily interruptions of some people who were trying to try their chances with him.
◇ They started finally getting closer again when the 'canon' started(Laurance's junior year, Garroth's senior year)
◇ Aph basically made them interact by befriending them both and making them sit together every single day.
◇ Regardless, Laurance and Garroth started hanging out together on their own not long after.
◇ Laurance fell first. Garroth fell harder.
◇ They never got together in high school, actually, though it was pretty obvious they liked each other.
◇ Originally, Garroth didn't even realise he caught feelings. Man was busy, ok? He was thinking about college, and besides, his father would NEVER accept one of his sons being queer-
◇ The realisation that he is, in fact gay hit him like a brick.
◇ Regardless, that's a subject for another time.
◇ Aph and Travis, the best wingmen EVER.
◇ They were hyping up Garroth's every move. It was very obvious what was happening, for everyone but Laurance, that is.
◇ Laurance had long rants about his 'secret crush'.
◇ it was not a secret.
◇ They were very in love. But a bit too stupid.
◇ Anyway. Garroth leaves for college next year(thankfully for him missing most of the Ein situation)
◇ Laurance weeps the entire year.
◇ He still finds ways to make Garroth visit though
◇ Be it complaining about forgetting his lunch and being too busy to go and get something for himself or being about cigarettes.
◇ Garroth, of course, 'falls for it' every time.
◇ Laurance finds out Garroth was planning on cutting off his family entirely(temporarily, he regains contact with Zianna and Vylad a bit later on. He litteraly wakes up with Zane going to a college close to his)
◇ Basically, he takes Laurance with him.
◇ But first, Garroth goes to his last family dinner for a while, Laurance there's to. Garte isn't pleased.
◇ Well, they clearly make an exit.
◇ They're dating at that point, sharing their first kiss in the car. Very romantic.
◇ While college they share an apartment somewhere close by.
◇ When they meet the rest of the cast ABSOLUTELY NO ONE is surprised that they're dating.
◇ Of course, after college, they move in together, somehow being persuaded by Dante to let him move in with them.
◇ They get engaged in Emerald Secret, I'll expand on that eventually.
◇ Pet names. A lot of them. From both sides.
◇ They don't do pda a lot because Garroth doesn't feel comfortable doing so, but behind close doors, Garroth IS the clingy one
◇ They're still holding hands almost 98% of the time,though
◇ It doesn't bother Garroth that much that Laurance smokes, but he still tries convincing Laurance to do it less and less.
◇ Which actually works because Laurance does smoke much less than he used to! He is trying to give up on it completely, not only for Garroth but himself. But of course, as any addiction, it's hard.
◇ Anyway. They aren't very jealous. Of course, there is some type of jealousy there, but it's rare, and they usually talk it out privately.
◇ Kisses.
◇ They are hyping up each other constantly.
◇ I just like them being happy, ok?
◇ As I said before, mys!Garroth is a dog person, mys!Laurance is a cat person.
◇ Yeah, so...Ungrth and Raven. Not so much of mystical creatures in this one, are they?
◇ Those two are their kids. They don't actually really want actual human kids. Not now, at least. Maybe later.
◇ Their idea of the best date is lying on the couch together with some snacks while watching crappy movies
◇ It's a bit hard when a certain someone is blasting music from the basement(cough Travis cough)
◇ They love him tho
◇ They also miss Dante sometimes(<- moved out eventually)
◇ Laurance knows how to play the guitar. I think you know what he has done with this ability.
◇ It was in private, though. Garroth might have sobbed a bit(/pos).
◇ Laurance also blasts music while he does his part of the chores. It's country music. It's the only time when he actively listens to it.
◇ Something about his fiancé and country music combined is very attractive to Garroth.
◇ mys!Garroth doesn't know how to cook(does not stop his from complaining about Laurance's way to do things tho, in a light-hearted manner, obvs). mys!Laurance is a very good cook.
◇ Garroth likes reading a lot. He sometimes reads to Laurance before sleep.
◇ They're eachothers comfort.
◇ Cadenza made it clear that if they ever have a wedding, SHE'LL design the suits. Of course, no one complained.
◇ Speaking of, the Zvhals adore Garroth.
◇ The Ro'Meaves. Uhm. Well. Garte dislikes Laurance. A lot. Zianna adores him, though! Vylad and Laurance are friends(I have yet to work on their dynamic in mys, so that's all I have for now). And then there's Zane. Mys!Zane and mys!Laurance are the best yet worst frenemies you'll ever meet.
◇ Speaking of, Garte hates more the fact that Garroth is dating Laurance than the fact that Garroth is gay.
◇ He got used to Garroth's 'queerness'. But not with Laurance.
◇ Laurance doesn't stand Garte either for obvious reasons.
◇ They went over for a family dinner once. Yeah. It was even worse this time.
◇When they first started dating, journalists were all over them. Garroth hated it, Laurance wouldn't have cared too much if it didn't bother Garroth.
◇They are being left relatively alone nowadays
Yeah, that's all I have for now. Thank you for actually reading all this, and pls ask me stuff about the cast or other ships. I'm always happy to rant about them or hear others do it
