the whole simpleton arthur thing was funny with how its played but idk i dont ever see anyone talking about how violating it would have been. to have your free will taken from you like that. i cant say i know a better way for merlin to have gotten arthur to leave but jeez

#usually when i watch those episodes i push this thought away and just let the funny jokey parts be jokey bc its more enjoyable that way lmao #but i have to say. i feel like this would be a massive point of conflict if merlin were to ever reveal it after magic reveal or #idk #people always bring up the poisoning morgana thing as a big post-reveal conflict but honestly i think that was somewhat justified and easier #to explain. like they were on a time crunch and if both merlin and arthur fell asleep nothing could be done #two ways to break the curse would be for morgana to die or for morgause to call it off #and even if merlin were to discuss this with morgana i really dont think she would agree with sacrificing herself. we dont know how much she #actually knew abt the whole plot but she was acting real shifty the whole time idk #and i do think her loyalty to morgause would come first #i wasnt meant to be talking abt this whole issue sorry i like morgana. anyways #to know your free will had been taken from you. for days. would be so upsetting
