With all the buzz around Persona 6 I think now is the perfect time to share one of the strangest dream I've ever had.
It's important to note that often in my dreams I take on the characters in whatever game I'm playing the most at any given point in time. In this instance I was deep in a Persona 5 relapse.
I was Joker. Me and my IRL friend who looked the same but were the other characters (common) were camping by a river. It was too dangerous to go in and actually do stuff so instead we spent a lot of time hanging out around the cmapsite. It was a full caravan park type place with a central hall. Usually there were events around the year for campers.
I became quite close with the owner. He was an old and kind man.
At the end of the week a short dinner event and presentation was hosted. The night was going well, everyone was dressed nicely. I had a brief and somewhat hostile interaction with just Akechi. No real world face or anything. He was just there. And then the Owner died in the same way mental shut down victims in Persona 5 do.
We all are told to leave the hall and wait for the police. I see Akechi making a break for it in a red suit and his fuck ass brief case and I give chase. I turn a corner and woke up.
I don't like Akechi's character all that much personally, and I remember being very angry about him at the time.

Maachan talking about rhythm in the arrangements. Songs featured include How Do You Like This Japan, Nanchatte Renai, Egao YES Nude, and A Gonna. For A Gonna, though, it's not about the arrangement, but about how she sings "tabetai" with 4 distinct syllables, as seen in the sound wave. She doesn't slur the ta- and -i together, and might be done in regular conversation, she re-enunciates the attack on the -i.

Thinking about two (three?) different "Rin Lives" AUs for "Naruto" in very different styles.
The first (Option 1A) is, of course, the classic where Rin survives having the Sanbi sealed inside her instead of having Kakashi kill her (while Obito watches). I can't exactly call Zetsu's sinister plan here unreasonable, but it does still rely heavily on a bunch of relatively unpredictable elements.
With Obito as a hostage, Zetsu has relatively intimate information on Rin, Kakashi, and Minato, but by that point, it's like a year out of date. What if Rin, Kakashi, and Minato have all been significantly changed by Obito's apparent death and have adjusted their techniques and procedures? The plan relies on 1) neither of Namikaze Minato's students (who also know Uzumaki Kushina and Jiraiya of the Sannin) having sufficient sealing knowledge to hold out long enough for help to arrive, 2) the YELLOW FLASH to be fully distracted and occupied while this is happening, and 3) Rin dying in such a way that it looks like Kakashi's fault. (Also, 4) no other Kiri nin catching on and having issues with all of this.)
Again, it's not exactly unreasonable that all of these elements came together in a tragedy, but also still too reliant for my liking on all of these different moving pieces who could potentially pull out skills and escape plans that Zetsu hasn't foreseen. I'll need to reread that part to figure out why clones / genjutsu weren't just used to fool Obito, who wasn't exactly in a good state to resist that kind of manipulation. (Itachi used Tsukuyomi on Kakashi at least once. Obito is under severe physical, mental, and emotional strain and only awakened his Sharingan directly before his kidnapping. He's so vulnerable.)
Option 1B for this AU, a twist on the classic, is that nothing about this mission was real. The Sanbi was never put inside Rin. Zetsu or Madara fooled a vulnerable Obito with a trick / gaslighting, and Zetsu has been desperately struggling to kill Nohara Rin for years to get her out of the way before a grieving / vengeful Obito notices that Rin isn't actually dead. This AU probably takes place before Minato's death. Kakashi and Minato have caught on to some attempted murder mystery going on here and they are SO overprotective.
OPTION 2 for a "Rin Lives" AU is actually a "Rin gets resurrected" AU. Obito catches on earlier that Madara and Zetsu are full of shit, but Obito still isn't exactly sane after everything, so while Obito has Rinnegan superpowers in the middle of the final fight, he throws Madara and Zetsu's plan out the window and somehow uses a stolen / modified version of Orochimaru's Edo Tensai technique to bring Nohara Rin fully back from the dead. Obito says a big "FUCK YOU" to all of those long conspiracies and wastes all of that ultimate power on fully resurrecting some random nobody girl he loved as a young teenager.
So, it's like: "Your name is Nohara Rin and you are no longer dead. You were turned into a bomb and killed yourself when you were 14 to save your village, and now you've been resurrected as though you never died; you're not exactly 14 anymore after the dreamy time you spent watching the world of the living, but you are definitely not actually 31. It's weird.
"The teammate you once thought was dead was actually kidnapped by two different madmen and has spent the past 15 years with them molding his body and whispering in his ears, only to betray them anyway. His hands are covered in so much blood and he's started a war and it was all apparently a trick to bring you back. So everyone is looking at you, shocked, and confused, because you're not special. All of that? For you? For some random dead girl? They were ready for the world to end. Obito is looking at you, satisfied, expectant, like you're supposed to have any answers or any kind of comfort for him.
"Minato-Sensei is here too, undead in a different way, not alive again like you are (at least, like you think you are), and so is Kakashi, all grown up the hard way. They are looking at you like a miracle and also like you're breaking their hearts all over again. And oh, no, Uchiha Madara and Zetsu are very, VERY mad right now, there's no time for any of this, is there? You died in one war and it's right back into another."

I dont think there's ever actually any confirmation on what Rasa [fourth kazekages] relationship was like with his other children, cause thinking on it i dont remember any commentary from the other sand siblings on what their relationship was like with their dad.
certainly they don't seem too aggrieved that hes gone, but at the same time thats because originally the fourth kazekages death was a complete afterthought. relevant only in the sense it was an out from further suna konoha conflict, and by the time the sand siblings showed up again other things were more important/relevant to the story. when rasa showed up as an edo tensai could have presented that opportunity of learning what those relations were like, but rasa showing up again is solely for the gaara therapy hours so he can get some closure. in that moment rasa might as well not have had any other children and gaara might as well not have had any other siblings.
not that i think rasa being a shit dad to his other kids is unreasonable fanon [cause that is technically what it is with the main story being reluctant to comment any which way], as interesting as I find the man he is much like chiyo a cock, cause everyone in suna projects as much asshole energy outwards as possible. and his handling of gaara as a human being was deplorable, even if it also highlights the very real and unaddressed problems of the shinobi world and its values where human individuality, liberty and rights are sacrificed in the name of village prosperity and nation statehood [as opposed to just him being a cock].
but by that same token, I think all thats really confirmed about how he treated the other sand siblings is that he kept gaara forcibly separated from them. and if you separate gaara from the fandom woobification of him and think about it from the perspective of a military nation states leader it makes sense to keep your dangerous ticking timebomb unstable murder weapon away from the easily breakable children that represent the villages chances of future success. I'd almost call it good parenting even [bar that gaara is also his kid] to keep the children away from the unstable murder weapon that keeps accidentally maiming anyone it gets close to.
but i think a lot of that is kinda irrelevant to the actual discussion fandom seems interested in on this matter, because I don't think most people headcannon rasa as a bad father to temari and kankuro based on the patterns of his characters behaviour. I think most people do it out of this idea of "sand sibling solidarity". gaara's the baby woobie of the naruto fandom [its most widely accepted one anyways], and the sand sibling dynamic is a popular one. so its cathartic to blame any of their earlier problems/dysfunction and distaste for gaara on the big ol mean rasa/fourth kazekage.
and I think thats entirely too lame, cause it turns the sand siblings and their dynamic into temari and kankuro being gaaras generic yes men. a problem that does kinda intrinsically infect the original work mind, given that after the chunin exams the sand siblings disappear up until the sasuke retrieval missions ending at which point they're all suddenly buddy buddy with each other. but thats something that was a consequence of time and narrative flow, keeping the story focused and all. but fanfiction offers the opportunity to flesh these things out, and theres some real interesting ground in how the sand siblings transition from being completely fucking terrified [for fairly understandable and reasonable reasons] of gaara to being his pillars of support as kazekage following the [partial] failure of konoha crush. reducing it to rasa being the evil bad man who kept them separated when they actually wanted to be gaaras friends all along, is such a waste though.
anyways, feel free to crucify me now for being mean about the writing around the sand siblings.

Still waiting for an actual translation, so I haven’t read the new chapter yet...
But now I can’t help but wonder whether Ness is a tensai (prodigy) or a shusai (genius)
I’m leaning into him being a tensai but is just held back by his fixation on Kaiser

I wish Nintendo had taken pokepair to court for copyright. Then atleast, every braindead take I see. About how the pals and the Pokemon look the same, can feel validated.
Because atleast then its a situation of "oo pocketpair you knew what you were doing tsk tsk". Instead of this will jeopardize a bunch of indie games and it doesn't just affect this one game. The concept of catching something out in a field is something so many games use. Persona, Shinigami tensai serise, dragon quest, digimon, Ark, temtem.
"Well Nintendo would never sue atlus or insert any real gaming company!!" Yeah they probably wont because if they win. This is a warning, no one gonna try and fight them on it. Bigger companys will use their recourse to make new shit indies are just fucked and hope they arent targeted by nintendo. If they win this shits all over my chances of getting another digimon like the Hacker serise. (It was semi open world and you caught digimon almost lile pokemon.) They are not about to fight nothing, no way are they gonna fuck with a patent.
Collecting monster games about to get hella boring. Like I get the dick riding from the japanese audience. Their whole thing is respecting corprations it is embedded in their culture. Now are they a monolith? No. im sure there are Jp people who feel differently. But over here in the state you have no excuse. I know Nintendo is a small indie studio who you've based your whole personailty on but damn come on now.
No one is holding a gun to your head and telling you to buy palword. Shit it barely has a fandom here.
"Oh but they do Ai art!" That was debunked months ago.
"The CEO is shady and tried to copy actual pokemon." Damn first time seeing a shitty CEO i wish that were me. But again Nintendo not sueing for that, so no one truly cares.
Listen you can simply say, "I don't like the game. I hate bootlegs and i truly do not care how this will affect gaming as a whole. Because it doesnt directly affect me." Or "im a pokemon fan so this is a win for me, if something comes out of it. I am parasocial and game I really like shouldnt have to deal with this ugly thing popping up" That I would accept, because its honest. You have the right to your feeling. But lets not try and say Pokepair was grounding breaking or doing anything major. That shit is ark but with me cartoon monster thats it.
