many people have already said this, but i wanted to too.

it's okay to grieve the loss of a famous person. feeling upset and hurt because of this loss is real. i've heard people say things like "why are you so sad when you didn't even know them?" or "it's not like you're friends with them."

you are allowed to feel sad and cry over it. it hurts even if you didn't ever know them personally because they've still impacted your life. they feel close to you.

your favorite singers have been singing to you for days, months, and years even. your favorite actors feel like close friends who grew up alongside you.

when my favorite actor committed suicide, i cried for a long time. i grew up watching shows and movies with him in it, so he was like a friend to me. his characters were always there for me.

when one of my favorite singers committed suicide, i cried for a long time, too. the sound of his voice is soft and comforting, and his words are like poetry and have consoled me countless times.

we don't always personally know the people who make a big impact on our lives, but they really did make a difference for us. so it is okay to feel what you feel.

but also please take care of yourself, friends. this is hard and weighs heavily on the heart. if you need time to process it or need to avoid social media for a while, you can do that. 💛

ROYA's Emotional Tribute to Moonbin Reveals Struggles of Moon Sua and Family

Mnet's "Produce 48's" Park Seo Young, also famously known as ROYA, recently shared a heartfelt tribute to the late ASTRO member Moonbin. The idol, who was found dead in his home on April 19th, caused shock and dismay among the entertainment industry and fans alike. Through Roya's Instagram story,, fans caught a glimpse of the hardships encountered by the late idol's family, most especially his sister, Moon Sua.

An Emotional Post on Instagram

ROYA took to Instagram on April 25th to express her grief and pay tribute to Moonbin. She uploaded an old photo from their childhood on her story saying that she did not have any recent photos with Moonbin. Because ever since they hit their mid-20s, they didn't get the chance to hang out as much as they used to.

Furthermore, she also addressed Moonbin as their "big brother" and mentioned how she's confident he'll keep watching over them from up above.

Revealing the Struggles of Moon Sua and Family

In her Instagram story, ROYA confessed that Moon Sua, Eunbi (SinB's real name), and their aunt and uncle are all having a hard time coping with Moonbin's sudden passing. She said that everyone who knew Moonbin misses him dearly and that he must have been a really good person. ROYA expressed regret for not being able to spend more time with him during his final days.

A Promise to Visit and Take Care of Moon Sua and Eunbi

ROYA also shared her plans to visit Moonbin's resting place with Moon Sua and Eunbi, bringing flowers as a token of gratitude for his presence in their lives. She assured the late idol that she would look after the two from the sidelines, and her only wish is for Moonbin to be at peace.

Along with her heartfelt message, ROYA also shared a photo that showcased Moonbin's bright childhood. The picture, which brought many to tears, featured ROYA standing side by side with Moonbin, Moon Sua, and SinB, smiling brightly.

Remembering Moonbin's Career and Legacy

Moonbin, born in 1998, began his acting career as a child actor in the KBS 2TV drama "Boys Over Flowers" in 2009. Then in 2016, he finally debuted as a member ASTRO. Moonbin recently worked as a member of the unit group "Moonbin & Sanha" and participated in overseas concerts, meeting fans from around the world.

A separate space has been set up by the agency for fans to commemorate Moonbin's life, and everyone is welcome to visit until April 30th. Moonbin's funeral was held privately on April 22nd at the funeral hall of Seoul Asan Hospital, in accordance with the wishes of the bereaved family.

A while ago, I was watching Moment of Eighteen. I recognized Moonbin in the kdrama from a Stray Kids magazine I have that also features Astro. Whenever I listened to their music, I always enjoyed Moonbin's vocals. On Saturday 15th I ordered the photocard from his and Sanha's new album: Incense from KStars. It arrived on Wednesday 19th.

I had school the next day so I didn't realise what had happened until one of my friends recognized Moonbin in my phone case and showed me a news report on their feed announcing his death. The coincidence doesn't feel real and I still can't believe he is gone.

Let's remember Moonbin for the amazing actor and singer he was.

A lot of people don’t know this but I’m a hardcore Buddy (GFriend fan). Like I listened to Love Whisper and I’ve been a fan ever since

I note this because it was my obsession with them that led me to Moonbin. SinB and Moonbin were best friends since they were little, and I watched every interaction between them religiously. I loved that Moonbin knew how to make SinB laugh

Following GFriend’s disbandment I started branching out to other groups to fill the void. One of those groups was obviously Astro, so imagine my surprise when I opened Facebook and saw the news

And when I saw the news the first thing I thought about were not the rest of the Astro boys. Not until I saw how Eunwoo had taken a flight back to Korea. It wasn’t SinB or the rest of their friends. I thought about Billlie’s Sua, Moonbin’s little sister

I think this is just a long post to say that I’m heartbroken about the news and that I’m praying for his loved ones, especially Sua. In my short time as an Aroha I saw just how much he adored her

I just hope that MJ, Jin, Eunwoo, Sanha and Rocky are ok. And the the rest of Billlie give Sua the love that she’s gonna need

It reminds me of when the actor for one of the Power Rangers passed away in November. He always looked so strong and happy to be with his fans so it was a shock to learn he unalived himself. I remembered because the PR special that released today had a dedication for him. Moonbin always looked so happy, just him being there made me smile. You never really know huh

I guess this is just a long rant to say that I’m sorry I didn’t appreciate Moonbin for longer and that I adored him and always will. I haven’t been this upset at a celebrity death in a while, I’m still in shock

Anyway, give love to everyone around you because you never know who may need it

Dong Min (이동민; born Mar 30, 1997), better known as Cha Eunwoo (차은우), is a South Korean actor, model, singer, and member of the Kpop group Astro under Fantiago Entertainment. He made his debut as an actor in the movie My Brilliant Life in 2014. He debuted with Astro on Feb 23, 2016.

Member for Eternity: ASTRO's Moonbin

Last month, tragedy struck Kpop fans across the globe. Very suddenly, we lost our Moonbin. Beloved by us all, he will be missed.

I was not an ASTRO fan, myself, but Moon Bin's impact on the industry was something revolutionary. He was your favorite idol's best friend. He was the industry's love. He was a bright light to us all.

Moon Bin was born January 26, 1998 in Cheongju, South Korea. He was a child model and actor who was beloved by the public immediately. He debuted with ASTRO as "Moonbin" on February 23, 2016. He served as their Main Dancer and Center. He also performed in a sub-unit with fellow member Sanha.

Moonbin was an icon in the industry. He was famously very kind and friendly. He worked very hard during his time here.

Moon Bin passed away in his home on April 19, 2023. It was his mother's birthday. Police confirmed that it was self-afflicted. Fatagio Entertainment asked that fans show respect to his friends and family in this time. A separate vigil was held for fans to mourn him.

He will serve as an inspiration to us all, countless idols and trainees to come, and to his younger sister, Moon Sua.
