I When He found her dead body wiped her face He probably held her body close.crying his eyes out in her chest and her hair. apologizing for not being there and not being able to protect her or heal her. Sometimes I remember that the only reason Cas is canonically a weirdo even by angel standards is just because Misha, the first onscreen angel, made the acting choice to portray angels as inhuman and eerie, and then all of the subsequent angel actors just ignored that and portrayed the angels as regular people.

This scene is so tragically funny to me because the people sitting around them were probably thinking that they were such a cute couple on a date who can't get enough of each other, sharing food, so in love that they're all giggly throwing heart eyes left and right when in reality Dean was asking his angel boyfriend to kill him in various ways.

I still say they should have been given real wings. But I know for a fact Dean would tease play and stretch out his wings. I love that even though it was a campy underproduced and (probably) underfunded show, SPN gave us some genuinely GREAT actors.

Edit since I’m already seeing shit about it: I don’t have replies on bc I never had them on to begin with. In case you haven’t noticed, I haven’t posted on here nearly at all since I got this blog, I don’t care that much about it. This is simply a place where I go to talk into the void so my thoughts aren’t constantly in my brain.

Also, regarding Jared, I have my own complicated feelings about him as a person, especially considering that he’s done a lot of scummy shit and brushed off that behavior with “uwu I have mental health issues” which, yes I can sympathize with since that is an AWFUL thing to struggle with (and I’m in a similar boat when it comes to shit like depression) but that’s not an excuse to behave how he does.

Also, no one else from the show has been able to find work? Lmao fucking where are you getting that? Almost everyone from SPN has acted in at least one other thing since it finished airing, and even some THIS YEAR, whereas Jared has only acted in ONE SHOW that he produced and got created for HIMSELF, and even then it was canceled (bc it wasn’t that well-reviewed by anyone, even by wipe who like the guy).

I don’t categorically hate ALL of his acting, there are a few episodes where he is genuinely good. But he just progressively got worse and worse over the series. And as for the “steady acting career” before SPN, sure, if you count roles in D-list mediocre movies as steady work. And in a lot of those, his acting isn’t much different.

And I know for a fact that people will say stuff like “well if he’s so untalented/unpleasant, why was he kept on? Why does he have work?” Well, see above, and there are plenty of fundamentally untalented actors that continue to get work bc they’re conventionally attractive

So yeah, just a bit of clarification

Fellas, this quote from Jensen over the weekend... I LIVE!

"There's few people that, when the cameras are rolling, you get to truly create moments that aren't on the page, and it's hard sometimes to find rhythm and cohesiveness with everybody you work with, and when you find the rare person that can...play at a level that makes you want to be better, it's almost like a high, that when the creative juices are flowing, and you are making moments that you maybe didn't even plan to be there, "happy accidents" we used to call 'em, of emotion, or between the lines nuance moments, and I think there's a reason that the story of Cas and Dean skewed to where it was, because I kept being able to have that creative ignition with Mish, when those cameras were rolling that made me a better actor, and made me want to find that even more."

First, what I nice thing to say about Misha! It must be super embarrassing to sit next to a guy who is just singing your praises like a bird all the time.

Second, I know there are those in the fandom who will sieze on the word "accident" and think yeah, it was all just Jensen things, he wants to sit in Misha's lap and twirl his hair, and like...ok, maybe! But, what interests me here is his use of the word 'cohesiveness' and the end, where he is saying that those moments arose because playing opposite Misha made him better at acting, and better at finding nuance and communicating what was not on the page.

I've been thinking a lot about the cohesiveness Supernatural has despite all the writers room/showrunner turnover, because in some ways, particularly character ways, it is REALLY cohesive, and I think a lot of that is down to the actors, and A LOT of what is down to the actors is Jensen, because he is clearly very invested in Dean, and cares a lot about getting Dean right. I mean, he played this complicated, fascinating guy on this silly genre show with his whole heart for 15 years, which is AMAZING and humble and beautiful of him, if you ask me. And I think a lot about how he made Dean so cohesive.

Making a TV show or a film is not just playing out the scenes in order -- it's stopping, resetting, starting again, waiting around, starting, reshooting, etc. And, it really isn't just straightforwardly an emotional journey. I think people really underestimate the professionalism involved, and how fucking great at it Jensen is. What this quote tells me is that moments between Cas and Dean were cathected and emotional in ways he couldn't have predicted, but he KNEW what he was playing, what he was trying for, and that Misha, as an actor, helped him find what he needed to convey in ways he didn't expect and which were a little bit of creative magic. Cas and Dean's story went the way it did because Misha helped him be better at finding nuance and emotion in Dean that wasn't in the words he was there to say, but WAS in Dean.

Guys, I love. Jensen is so not a dumbass. He is so thoughtful in commenting on Dean and I am HERE FOR IT. I have so many questions! Like, I have never been to a con, and kind of feel like it would be embarrassing? But, I have so many questions.

Who Played It Better?

Jared's Version: ever since I saw Jared in that white suit, stopping to smell a rose in apocalyptic time I swooned over his version of Lucifer. Till date, I still love his Lucifer the best (shame we didn't see enough of that) because of how bone-chillingly cold he is. He doesn't come across as a cheap jump-scare. It's pure vanity. He plays Lucifer again in S15 and can I say I was thoroughly pleased to see it was exactly the same smug, prince of Pride! Look at that smirk in the last gif!

Mark Pellegrino's version: hands down, the second best Lucifer. the only reason I ranked him on second is because post S5, something happened to that Lucifer. He turned from dark to dark comedy, which is fun at times but not always.

Misha's version is a copy of Pellegrino's dark comedy and other two Lucifers are very forgettable..

The Casifer arc is so funny because I get so much Misha content and yet the whole time I find myself missing Cas and Misha. Like yeah, technically I know that’s Misha but also no it isn’t, that’s a different actor, and I want back Misha and Cas!
