WELCOME TO PRYTHIAN.

We are a new SJM MULTIVERSE Based Roleplay Group. We are working on getting out pages up, so please be patient.

This group will be based fifty years after HOUSE OF SKY AND BREATH, and will focus on the next generation of fae. With the main canon characters aging so slowly--canon characters will still be playable.

If you’d like to reserve a face or character please send an ask to the main. We’re open for applications and we would love for you to join us. We will have a date for opening once we finish getting the page set-up and have 7 auditions.

Night court supremacy

Does it bother you how everything and everyone from the night court is "too much powerful"?

When I read the books for the first time, I had a perception of things. Now, a few years later and reading it for the third time, I see things I didn't see before. Or I didn't give attention before. Let's go thru a sum of facts of why I became annoyed with how the night court inner circle is written. 

The court itself: the largest of Prythian courts, extremely rich (remember Rhys chambers of treasures in acowar, for example) and untouched in matters of power disputes -- Keir is not likely to risk his goods to fight for the throne, so Rhys reins in calm waters (or calm enough). 

Let’s remember that even if the prison doesn't belong to the night court, it stays closer to them than any other high lord or lands.

The illyrians only exist at the night court as well and even if Thesan has a flying legion, Rhys makes it very clear that is a small one. How fortunate that the night court is the ONLY ONE with a full army with flying legions.

The High Lord: since the beginning is said that Rhysand is the most powerful high lord and his power is based on what was passed for him by his father, also in his own work mastering it. But why? Why his power needs to thrive above the others? The high lords are supposed to be 7 faces of the same power, but in acowar we see that Rhysand's power can easily suppress everyone elses'. It’s actually boring and makes no sense. I will not even go to the fact that he now owns powers of the seven high lords. 

The Second - Amren: She is the only one that make sense, though isn’t clear why she chose the night court as her home. 

The Third - Mor: Everytime someone says 'the morrigan' I wait to see what will come. What was so special, what power or ability was so worthy a title over centuries? Still, nothing. Yes, Morrigan is strong, she is Rhysand's cousin, so she is supposed to be. Yes, she is a good fighter and killer. But to earn a name across centuries? Utterly not impressed. 

Cassian: My love for Cassian runs deep, but his power makes no sense. AT ALL. Actually, having seven siphos is so out of control. Even if he was more powerful than the average illyrian, seven is just too much (let's remember most of the illyrians have one or two). And then, were all his power came from? His mother was a nobody. She couldn't give him that much power. The only explanation would be his father being a high lord or someone close to it (like a high lord's son or from a family like mor's), but that's unlikely. 

Azriel: In matters of brute power, Azriel seems to be more powerful than Cassian (it's clear by his shadows' given power and the fact that he can winnow), so I don't understand why both of them have the same amount of siphos. Azriel is a son of a lord, so he probably had some ancestral power inside his veins, plus the shadowsinger ability, it could bring him close to be very powerful. But not so powerful as a high lord's heir! Eris is Beron's heir and Azriel beating his ass was too much of "over power" for me.

In my rpg times (when I had the time), we would call the entire night court 'Mary Sue' or 'Gary Stu'.

note: it's only my opinion and you're free to disagree as much as you like.

Legend says that Prythian, the realm of the faeries, was once all one united land. But its inhabitants were never able to decide who should rule the entirety of the faerie realm, which thrust the faeries into constant war. As soon as one king was installed, he would be assassinated and another would take his place. The bloodshed continued for decades before The Mother, the great goddess of creation, intervened. She divided the Land of Prythian into seven courts: Day, Night, Dawn, Spring, Summer, Autumn & Winter. For each court, she selected a faerie to rule it, and upon each of them she bestowed a gift that would be passed down their line. These gifts were given to allow each ruler a power that no other faerie had, so that they might protect themselves from their court being taken over by another.

This is how it has been for five thousand years, but Prythian is by no means peaceful. Although the battles between the faeries are largely over, many other terrors still lurk in this realm. There are stories of monsters lurking in the shadows, spies within the courts, and the awakening of an ancient evil….

PRYTHIANHQ is an OC supernatural/historical/royal rp set in a fictional faerie realm based on Sarah J Maas’ ‘A Court of Thorns and Roses’ book series, which you do not have to have read to join.

Things here at Prythian-HQ have been dead this month. The world has kicked all of us while we are down but we plan on returning! After a little hiatus and some major changes to our group plot and future we will be reopening for auditions no later than this Friday, May 27th!
