Things that I’d love in an ACNH update or a new AC game

Obviously there won’t be any more updates for New Horizons, but I think these would be cool if there were.

- An NPC who makes mini dinosaur figures when you give them fossils. It could be like Flick and CJ where you have to give a certain number of parts of whichever figure you want. Or you could have to give 1 of each part of the dinosaur you want. Or you could give a certain amount of unassessed fossils and get a random figure, kind of like how Katrina sends random items if you cleanse bad luck.

- More holidays! Valentine’s Day, April fools day, groundhogs day, Chinese New Year, Coming of Age Day, Earth day, summer and winter solstices, Diwali, etc. could be a lot of fun!

- More jobs! I miss being able to work for Brewster and make deliveries for Tom Nook. It could also be fun if villagers payed you a few bells to do things for them, like pick all the weeds around their house or build them a garden or customise something of theirs.

- More Pocket Camp furniture! I get that Nintendo makes money off Pocket Camp furniture and not ACNH furniture, but they could release amiibos that unlock them, like the Sanrio amiibos, and you have to buy them to get the furniture. Please, I just want the cat themed stuff 🥲

- Pete! It’d be so much fun to be able to shoot him down like in Wild World.

- All the mini games! Maybe there could be an island like Kapp’n’s old one where you can compete with friends, or something like the arcade in Animal Forest.

- Crystals! You can dig them up like gyroids and fossils, and get them assessed and donate them.

- The ability to make custom design masks, shoes, jumpsuits, and pants.

- Give Reese the ability to customise clothes! That would kill two birds (Anchovy and Blanche, maybe?) with one stone, as it would allow us to customise clothes and give Reese something to do. Obviously Cyrus would swoon when she does, just like she does for him 💕

it was mostly me staring at my switch screen for about 3 hours and copying the layout in powerpoint 😭😭

as for the actual game cards, those were a little harder and obvs inspired by real nintendo games. megumi crossing was the hardest to make because i had to edit out “animal” in the ACNH screen and then find the custom font and download it to write megumi’s name instead… i couldn’t really tell you where i got that font from... and orienting all the letters to be slanted was such a pain in the ass 0/5 stars i do not recommend

for levi’s, i just took a screencap of that scene from the show bc it resembled the art for zelda, and again, i just looked for the custom font for the writing. i think i had to crop out the odm gear sword from a stock image and make it transparent to put it through the L

jujutsu tech sports was the easiest to make, because i just replaced the top half of the wii sports image with the picture of toge. i wanna say i found the font for that too, but looking at it, it might just be helvetica and i applied the gradient because i remember having to space out the words “jujutsu tech” weirdly to get it to fit 

kirby star allies was the one that took the longest because i drew it. there’s just such a strong yuuji and kirby relation, and i couldn’t figure out any other way to kirby-fy him 😭😭 as you might be able to tell, i gave up on highlighting or shading it, but making mini kirby versions of nanami, nobara, and gojo was so fun. fun fact, nanami was supposed to be yuuta, but his haircut looked so fucking weird on a kirby i couldn’t to it LOOLLLL

taking some mini-wins today (my background check went through & i'm good! i've been relatively consistent with my goals! in 2 weeks i may be meeting our new cat!) and using today as a little 'catch up' day rather than a 'get ahead' day. plus we have friends coming over tonight AND tomorrow which is very exciting to my golden retriever brain

that said, here are my goals today!

Fun discoveries in ACNH

hi, I never post things, also sorry in advance if some of this is stuff someone has already said, or stuff that was in older games, I’m going in mostly blind, and new leaf was my first game

Here are some discoveries for the new game that I’ve found while playing, as of march 21st! I figure this may be helpful to some people, since there probably aren’t many full guides out yet. 

if you plant a fruit or flower or sapling in the wrong spot, you can dig it back up while it is still in the sapling/first phase without destroying it! When you do, it will turn into “Nursery X” and can be replanted. This does not require you to eat a fruit

Money trees can be planted, but only in a very specific way. you must find the glowing spot in the ground, dig it up, and then re-plant the money bag in the glowing spot again. The location is probably inconvenient, but that’s ok! the money tree follows the same rules for other saplings above, so it can be moved immediately after planting and turning into a sapling

Time travel does work, and appears to have no penalties (as long as you’re only going one or two days at a time) however, to do so, you have to close the game entirely, and change the switch’s clock settings, and disconnect from the internet. This could have adverse effects on other games, so beware. I have not tested TTing when not on airplane mode, so try at your own risk.

you can do minor sequence breaking if you have a friend who has access to all the tool crafting! This is more helpful to people who started the game late, or who do not want to time travel. as long as you know someone who can craft tools (specifically the pole and ladder, but any tool will work) your friend can craft a spare, and give it to the newer player. anyone can use the tool, as long as they have it in their inventory. do keep in mind though, that most tools break, so maybe only use this for the exploration tools, since those do not have durability. 

this one isn’t confirmed, but supposedly it takes a long time to get terraforming tools, so try to work without them. I’m on “day 4″ (I've been time traveling back and forth, so my timeline is a bit of a mess) and I don’t think I’m anywhere close to it

the mini islands do completely reset each time, so it’s completely safe to destroy them

the DIY recipes in the bottle can be anything, including recipes you are given in the tutorial. you can sell them though, so don’t worry.

placing a custom design on the walls of your house overrides the windows, and gets rid of them. I’m not sure how to fix this, but it’s something to be aware of

transparency DOES NOT WORK on clothing items. when creating using pro codes, the option is not there, and when “wearing” a normal custom design with transparency, the transparent sections turn white. if you plan on making clothing with cutouts or skin colored sections, you will still have to color match

speaking of pro designs, some clothing items have seamlines, some don’t. keep that in mind when creating clothes with cutouts/skin sections

That’s all I’ve found for now, but please feel free to add on anything else you find, especially if it’s a “small” thing. also, please no shaming anyone for using or not using any of these tips. not everyone is able to play the same way, or for the same amount of time, and this game is all about having fun, and going at the pace you want.

I love inspecting ACNH builds trying to figure out how they were accomplished and YES i'm doing that currently with your pictures 🔍👀 I'm rrying to figure out area 51 - I'm guessing the smaller houses are doll houses? I don't recall ever seeing those before. What is the alien ship from?

Oh jeez tumblr never notified me about this message so I hope I'm not answering this way late...

The small houses in the front are indeed doll houses, which you can buy during the Toy Day (aka Christmas) period. The small buildings in the back are throwback containers, which are regular furniture you can get anywhere.

The alien item is the flying saucer, which is a DIY you can get from Celeste.

Omg I'm so sorry I keep meaning to answer this but I will now because I'm ill and gotta distract myself

- I've already made a big post about this but I think N would have an ENORMOUS sweet tooth that he wasn't allowed to indulge under Ghetsis' 'care', and once he learns how to be more open with himself and his interests he would absolutely have no self restraint when it comes to pastries and such

- He LOVES cooking, trying new food and getting others to try his food too. -Insert indepth commentary on how mathematics and formulae could be used in cooking to help N enjoy and understand it better that I'm too sick to fully think through rn-

- N playing ACNH - he'd absolutely love creating miniature sets like the awesome little train tracks and mini villages people make using the beehouses, dollhouses and mini camper sets, as well as unique forced perspective sets - it'd all be a great fun puzzle to him!

- Not much of a headcanon persay but something kinda cool I thought about; in concept art it's shown there was going to be some kind of key to unlock something inside of N's void cube. I was thinking about what his pokeball-throwing animation would be like if/when they do Gen V remakes and I realised...what if his cube is a Pokeball. Like, it'd make sense for Ghetsis to give him a special ball to catch his legendary dragon in to keep it extra safe - making it so N, genius prodigy that he is, would be the only one able to open it by solving a puzzle no nomal pleb would be able to figure out if it fell into the wrong hands (other than Ghetsis himself of course, despite his plans falling apart I doubt he's too far behind N in intelligence at all). I dunno, I just thought the mental image of N holding the cube out politely for his dragon to pop in and out of was kinda cute.

- N would vehemently protest the creation of mixed up fossil Pokemon from Galar and any fossil Pokemon infact, but any he would find he would want to take in and learn to care for to atleast make their lives as comfortable as possible. I feel like he'd eventually get over his prejudice against Pokemon professors -- atleast the ones who treat Pokemon correctly of course -- and help research for the sake of making sure they're treated correctly and that as much information is available to others as possible as well.

My brain is melting rn but if I think up any more I'll definitley add to this post! And sorry I took so long to answer

My ideas are in rough draft stages, but I’d be happy to share my thoughts!! 🌸

❥ (also you’re welcome!) — my layout is a little awkward to work with but my ideas seem to be the only thing that’ll work for it unless I waste a LOT of time relocating everything or changing the landscapes. That being said... I plan to have some music players & portable radios in random places so there’s non-overlapping music wherever you go to chill! I put my camp on a cliff with an incline going up to it; it’ll also function as a mini park kinda! There’ll also be an entrance to my fruit & flower forest attached to the park! In the same island section as the camp, there are 5 houses — 4 surrounding a makeshift pond-fountain and Cherry’s off to the side to be close but vibe like the happy introvert she is. The other 5 houses are still being figured out. In the main island part, the stores will be set up like a chainstore thing, probably near the beach like a boardwalk, with stalls and stuff too. And in the 3rd section, that’ll be where my house is! It’s gonna be a half restaurant like Mallow’s family restaurant!! And it’ll be by the beach in front of the other (hidden in trees) entrance to the fruit forest like in the anime!! Kinnie rights!! There’ll also be an orchard some ways above my restaurant-house near a heart lake! — Everything else is being planned out and this is only a really rough idea for now but I hope I can pull at least some of it off!! My ACNH Diary

Hi everyone! Figured I’d start setting up my ACNH diary ~

So without further ado, here are my plans!

my hopes for an acnh patch update:

1. the villager limit extended

like ok. new leaf had 10 villagers, city folk had 10, wild world had 8 and gamecube had fucking 15. like?? this is also coming from a place where i need all my favorite villagers but like. broooo. it would be so cool to have more than 10, but then the island *might* need to be bigger idk (but at the same time i’ve reached my 10 limit & have a TON of space for more homes)

2. storage & crafting

so if you’re crafting you should be able to use the stuff in your storage (provided you’re crafting in your house, obviously). i’ve seen a lot of people say something like this and i agree that it would make things easier.

3. more villager interactions

okay... they seem a little,, dull? like i talk to my villagers & it just doesn’t seem as in depth as before. they repeat the same thing often, and it’s not as long as they used to be. villager quests were fun, and i wish they weren’t as rare as they are now. i still haven’t gotten one... hghh

plus, i never see villagers interact anymore. it was my fucking favorite thing as a child to see them talk to each other and eavesdrop (especially when they were fighting lmao)

4. a durability counter

since tools break (the frequency of which is very annoying) i figure that there should be a counter (although let’s be real none of these ideas are unique or new so... we all figure). stg my fishing rod broke and it felt like i JUST made it.

5. old npcs

now a lot of people are saying the classic npcs are no longer in and ive been taking that w a grain of salt. i’m not sure if it’s true from a confirmation or if they’re just further in or what but: BREWSTER. Ok i miss the new leaf coffee mini game and that would be amazing

also kappn but like all the classic ones mkay
