I’m dealing with stress about the world by going back to brainstorming the rainy small town island I’m building in ACNH.

Some features:

- lots of small ponds and creeks. A few larger water features, but the whole island looks somewhat flooded.

- lots of puddle design codes on the ground, umbrellas and rain boots outside buildings like someone put down their umbrella and took off their wet boots to come inside.

- lots of mushrooms and moss. Damp stuff.

- a large interactive school build (the kind of fake building you can walk inside,) plus a very muddy playground. Also a creek near the school with what looks like a little outdoor classroom on the bank. My elementary school had a creek nearby, and for science class we would walk over to the creek to look at frogs and crawdads and things. I want to recreate that.

- near the school is going to be a kind of education district. The museum will go over here, and a library. Maybe a couple other things like a history museum or a planetarium? Maybe a theater? Trying to include things you would want to do on a rainy day.

- on the opposite side of the island from the education district is the shopping district with Nooks and Ables, plus other shops and some restaurants. I’m definitely making a yarn/textile/knitting shop. Maybe an umbrella shop? I need a cozy little cafe because nothing says rainy day like coffee and tea. Maybe a brunch place too? Or a little diner? I think I want more shops but I’m not sure what kind.

- oh, maybe a pharmacy or small town doctors office, in case you catch a cold from getting soaked in all that rain?

- or a laundromat to wash all your wet and muddy clothes?

- maybe a video game store, but with a vintage section for old games and systems. And a convenience store. Go buy some games and snacks and then go home and get cozy indoors.

- some of the villager houses will be used for shops, but the rest will be a little neighborhood with a community garden in the center.

A little bit about my ACNH Gameplay/Posts

The first time I played Animal Crossing was New Horizons in 2020.

My younger sibling gave me their Switch Lite when they upgraded to a Switch.

My island is called Praxis.

It is set up organically with what I thought a radical commune of villagers with different backgrounds would create on their own island.

We have one side of the island set up with campsites for visitors.

The other side is for the townies, and all but the Four Corners villagers live in a row up the East beach, including my rep's house.

There's a bamboo garden, farming area, cemetery, trash/recycling/repair area, orchard, hangout spot in the deep woods, restaurant, gym, market, laundromat, bar & arcade, and the burned-out remnants of a jail.

I don't have a DA not because my island isn't finished (it's full!) but because the content might not be acceptable for general audiences.

My museum is 100%.

I started this profile to not only keep a visual record of what I have created in ACNH but to share those creations in the hope that someone else will get enjoyment or inspiration from them.

All my loans are paid back, and my storage is maxed.

I have the HHP dlc, and I'm a GOAT Designer.

All my villagers' homes are redecorated.

My Tumblr is relatively new, but I've been posting my old ACNH content from whenever I got my SD card.

I spent 2,735 hours of my life playing ACNH. (so far!)

The current posts on my profile are from April 2022, and I have everything between then & now still to post.

I create a queue every Friday of 3 posts a day for a full week.

My spouse recently got me a full Switch because my Lite is almost unplayable where my joysticks are thrashed, and I almost couldn't hit the same button 3 times in a row to start the game the other day.

Sometime in the near future, I will be starting a new island on my new switch and sending in my old one for repair.

Dreams From The Backlog (unposted dreams ive had in my notes app for months):

january 16th - i was simultaneously a lesbian in a zombie apocalypse and myself and my little gang on a journey to safety with my friends and my boyfriend milo. the pov kept switching as we went

i dont know how many people died overall, but it was a worldwide thing. survivors included the little airship posse me and milo had gathered, the cats that come by our house irl, my parents, tiel, the lesbian i kept switching povs to, and the lesbians girlfriend. it was real weird and real vivid

we used a blanket from my moms house to shelter ourselves from the rain on our airship

at one point we found a bunch of other survivors on a separate airship that included a few of my school bullies. it turned out one of them got bit and didnt tell anyone so we left real fast

i flooded a room up to the ceiling to get the zombies and not-zombie regular corpses out of the way to get something

there was a laundromat at the start and most of the washing machines had limbs, guts, and some bodies washed into an ice cream consistency. one had pencils. i do not know why. the washing machines were all drawn by fakemon artist brodo

and yes the lesbians reunited at the end. it was a silent and peaceful reunion, no tears or cheers, just. the two sitting across from each other. enjoying a tranquil moment

february 15th - had a dream that animal crossing new horizons anti-piracy was an unopenable treasure chest used to tell whoever you were playing with that you were a dirty crook but since i bought ACNH legit a nintendo tech support guy had to come to my house to discuss it with me. the only other thing i remember is that he had a fursuit on

march 6th - dreamt that i was playing an unfamiliar game (besy [sic] description i have is a 2d builder i could move other players around in except it was also Just Minecraft sometimws [sic]) online with a guy named poobs (jerma skin, changed nickname and bio(???) to Y and y respectively) and they kept comedically falling and failing a simple jump and i guess i laughed so much at the repeated eating of shit that it woke real me up

march 7th - dreamt that i (as a fursona i have never seen) was stalking myself (also as an unfamiliar fursona) in a house i have never lived in and never seen so i called the police on myself before i realized i had weed in a box on my dresser so i kinda-subtly kinda-unsubtly tried to get the cop out of my house especially bc they werent actually helping and just rummaging through not-mys my shit (go figure)

april 10th - had an unnecessarily elaborate dream i was at a school solely for homestucks and i was some sort of spy for joan matzahstein. specifically the mspaint joan. who was i spying on idk. i think i had to do a clothes delivery mission or something? bc i vividly remember the bra falling onto the grass and having to pick it up. but i Did get caught on my mission and kick off a chase scene that culminated in me turning myself in to keep joan from getting found out but not mentioning her name. everyone in the dream was both friends with each other and with me but i only recognized joan. and then i woke up at home
