So these are just notes and random things I wrote down from Stephanie Garber's London tour:

● Her favourite character used to be Jacks but now it's Apollo *gasp from the audience*

● She wrote Finale chapter 16 ( the one where it mentioned that a wedding party was turned to stone and the bride's sister took their place) before she wrote Once Upon A Broken Heart, which actually contradicts what everyone believes- that she wrote chapter 16 to set up ouabh.

● In the first draft of ouabh, Evangeline was a spy sent from Valenda to the North to kill Jacks.

● She's written her next book (secret project #7) and it's probably going to be announced around a month after acftl is released.

● When asked if Chaos, Lala and the Valors are going to return she said yes and that there is going to be a Chaos/Lala scene (a scene where Evangeline is like "hey I'm still here guys") (Stephanie's words)

● She said she also has a Chaos/Lala story in her head but I think there was something about Secret project #7 having nothing to do with the ouabh/caraval universe but don't quote me on that.

● Jacks was hard to write in acftl

● Also mentioned that Legend was easy to write until Finale

● When asked about alternate endings she said she:

> she doesn't like writing bonus material

> she feels like she puts everything she wants to in the book

> they are not canon

> there is one light ending, one dark ending and one that's in the middle (out of all the bonus epilogues/alternate endings)

> she prefers the dark ending and doesn't really like the light ending

● There actually is something about Jacks liking apples and sometimes the colours were intentional

A little disappointed with ACFTL, it has been a reading of 3 ⭐️, but uff has left a lot of unresolved questions, there are characters of which we know absolutely nothing throughout the book, and in my opinion everything has been resolved very hastily, I do not know.

Can someone post the alternative endings of the special editions? I am from the EU and some of them are impossible to obtain🙏🏼🙏🏼

acftl pt 2- i feel like i posted too much about the negatives so i should probably state the positives

the whole unanswered questions and story curse explanation seems cool to me tbh, like i kind of get it with the whole story curse thing and we’ve established that the book is most definitely under the northern story curse so the unanswered questions makes sense

contrary to what a lot of people said, i really loved the alternate endings as it did set stuff up for a new story and i refuse to believe sg isn’t gonna return to this world

i really loved the jacks pov chapters they fulfilled 10x more than the apollo chapters and even though we got so little they were really good

and eva literally grew a backbone!! she was so badass with the whole slapping apollo thing and she kept standing up for herself!! i felt so proud of her tbh

apollo getting put into a tree absolutely made me die laughing-i will NEVER get over that scene

LALA/CHAOS-even though chaos went on ten fucking cod streaks i still find him interesting and wanna learn more about the chaos lala chemistry because no way that wasn’t there before

Stephanie just said there would be alternate endings for ACFTL (in the special editions) so does this mean we could witness sad and brutal endings or what!! I'm scared

idk why theres so many people reacting negatively about the news... as if its a confirmation they wont have a happy ending like.. i cant be worried even if i tried cause i dont think stephanie would write about jacks story for him to end up alone again (or worse) like what would be the point it would just be repetitive.. the endings are just extras because it fits the way the stories work in their world i believe it would be bittersweet at worst. what do you think?

I said somewhere on here that I don't think the alternate endings are "What if Jacks fails and this is what happens" situations. More like this may be another moment Evangeline and Jacks might have shared together after the story has officially ended.

It wouldn't make sense for Jacks to continue this depressing fate after everything he's been through to chase for true love.

And besides, these alternate endings are not in any way canon. They're only meant to add to the imagination about what could happen.

Stephanie even said that they once used to be epilogues, but for whatever reason, she decided against them.

I understand the fear, but they're only for fun! Evajacks are happy in every single one of them 💕

Hello since SG is a Rude author trying to make more Money and totally ignores Fans (especially the international ones) who can't afford all endings and editions will you buy all endings and Post The? There are authors who give Bonus Material for free btw, in Case you want to defend SG actions

I can't speak for what happens behind the scenes. I only know that the publishing world demands some kind of exclusivity to sell some editions. And this has worked for Stephanie's other books as well, as many other authors.

And it's playing out the same way here with ACFTL, only they're with "alternate endings." I don't think she's doing this on purpose to say that she's looking for more bucks. It seems like she really wanted to do it since it relates to the whole idea of the story curse.

With that said, I completely understand how it is unfair for a lot of readers. I will post them here on my account and reblog the rest. I promise 😊

I have a theory about this. What if the reason why Apollo’s fanart is first and Jacks’ last is because it represents Eva’s journey? Like, at the beginning of ACFTL Eva has this “beautiful” life with Apollo but by the end of the book she has left Apollo for Jacks? I also think the climax of the book will take place in the hollow. Especially because we’ve seen fanart of Eva and jacks sharing a bed and the alternate dust jacket depicts Eva and jacks embracing each other in what looks to be the front of the hollow.

I remember when Stephanie was writing the epilogue for Cursed, she said it was the longest epilogue she had ever written. But, the epilogue we ended up getting, is actually only a few pages long. I assume that the long epilogue she wrote are now the alternate endings (since they’re all a continuous story and connected). Do you think this too? Is this common knowledge? Haha ♥️

Yes, I think that's what really happened. Because they all seem to be connected, I think Stephanie meant for every single epilogue, including the official one in the book, to be canon. But I suppose nothing really fit except for the small one. 😊
