i think I’ll snag an acer nitro v since it’s on sale and I’m seeing good things about it. Would like a desktop tho but I’m poor.
A lot of the reviews for the laptops r so useless though lol. I’m sorry but i don’t care if the screen isnt 4k hd or if it can’t run a game at 120fps. Stop being a baby lol.

Review - Acer Nitro 5 (AN517-54) o alegere bună pentru gaming
Tumblr media
Read the full article

hey i have the quickest question! what's a good laptop or computer to start digital art on? i'm super sorry in advance if you've already answered this...lol
No worries, I haven’t gotten a question like this before :)
To start with, either a mac or windows pc is good.
Regardless of comp type, both would require a significant amount of RAM. Upwards from 8 GB, at least. That’s what I would recommend.
The most important deciding factor, IMO, would be memory/RAM. You would want your digital art programs to run smoothly with no lag or potential to crash from an overload of activity that a computer with less RAM would typically experience, so I wouldn’t think too extensively on the exact type of computer.  I personally have a gaming laptop which has the potential to handle a lot of programs running, esp. if there’s >8 GB of memory.
Apple doesn’t have much variety in its laptops, at least compared to PC’s, which has its pros and cons, but Macs would be good for only Photoshop/AutoDesk/there could be more but I don’t know all of them. If Paint Tool SAI is the program you want, I’ve heard that apple OS can’t run it, only windows. Someone can correct me on this; I’m not 100% sure! But then I guess you could just install a Windows OS on your Mac if for some reason you just really like apple comps...  Apple computers do run smoothly, maybe even more than a PC, as far as I’ve seen, but the memory situation would be the same. Gotta have that RAM ya know
So basically, both Apple and Windows is good! I’m so sorry for the unclear answer, but in the end, I would just choose what laptop/computer you want with the appropriate memory storage. Choosing a good PC may require more effort than choosing an apple comp (as I said, less variety, but hey, fewer chances to screw up), so go off of reviews of computers. (I’m so sorry... D’: that’s what I would do so this is all I can tell you)
Add’l info:
My laptop is the 17 in. Acer Aspire V 17 Nitro Black Edition ( I just got it for the backlit keyboard, honestly hahahaahhaahah) I do not recommend getting this one with only 8 GB like I have right now because the process to install more ram is literally the most tedious and nerve-wracking process ever. You literally have to take apart the entire laptop to get to the slots that hold the ram!! I hate it ughafgaglirejgli but other than that the screen is top-notch :D but  I digress...
I use Paint Tool SAI; can use Photoshop but I don’t want to and neither does my laptop
My tablet is the Intuos Pro Medium

Greatest gaming laptops below $1,000 to get in 2019
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sarah Tew/CNET If you happen to're discovering your laptop computer's gaming efficiency lower than thrilling this summer time, it is a fairly good time to begin trying to find offers, particularly with faculty simply across the nook, too. Gaming laptops working Nvidia's new RTX 2060, 2070 and 2080 graphics playing cards are actually available. However, until you are ready to spend at the least $1,500, you have obtained a little bit of a wait forward of you earlier than costs drop beneath $1,000.  The excellent news is that the costs on older laptops with Nvidia's GeForce GTX 10-series GPUs began dropping way back and you may get a well-configured 15.6-inch laptop computer for $1,000. And their graphics {hardware} is not their solely good high quality, both. Laptops with an entry-level GTX 1050 card begin round $600, which supplies you adequate graphics efficiency to play the most recent demanding video games at low-to-medium settings. Spending $1,000 or a little bit extra will get you a laptop computer with an upper-midrange Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060. Plus, with the 6GB model of the cardboard, you possibly can expertise a little bit of the ray-tracing results accessible with RTX playing cards. In between these are the GTX 1650 or 1050 Ti GPUs that may be present in laptops for round $800 or much less and may deal with medium-to-high settings relying on the sport. Disclosure: CNET could get a share of income from the sale of the merchandise featured on this web page. Our suggestions based mostly on our evaluations and testing are beneath. However, if you understand what you are on the lookout for and need to begin purchasing, listed below are the perfect offers we have discovered at present accessible from main retailers beginning as little as $680. Gaming laptop computer offers from $800 to $1,000:  Gaming laptop computer offers for $799 or much less:
Tumblr media
Sarah Tew/CNET Dell's G-series gaming laptops are cheaper than these from its Alienware division, however nonetheless able to enjoying the most recent AAA titles. There are three separate fashions -- the G3, G5 and G7 -- accessible in 15- and 17-inch sizes. The 2018 G3 15 was slimmer in design than the G5 and G7, which have been styled extra like a gaming laptop computer. The 2019 G3 leans extra towards the G5 and G7 design, too.  The midrange G5 15 hits the mark with a wonderful price-to-performance ratio, construct high quality and design. You will discover it for $800 with a 6GB GTX 1060. And in the event you're keen to go to $1,200, you may get it with a brand new RTX 2060.
Tumblr media
Now enjoying: Watch this: Dell's G5 15 is likely one of the greatest entry-level gaming laptops... 1:32
Tumblr media
Sarah Tew/CNET Lenovo's Legion Y530 and Y730 gaming laptops might be discovered for $900 or much less, so it actually comes all the way down to what parts and design options you need in it. The Legion Y530 is at present the perfect deal, however it lacks just a few of the gaming-focused extras of the Y730 like an RGB backlit keyboard. Additionally, we simply obtained performed testing the up to date model of the Y530, the Y545, which begins at $1,000. Our system carried out rather well with its Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660Ti and ninth-gen Core i7 hitting greater than 70fps for Far Cry V and Shadow of the Tomb Raider assessments.
Tumblr media
Sarah Tew/CNET Acer introduced a brand new Predator Helios 300 with ninth-gen Intel processors and Nvidia RTX graphics and a smaller, thinner physique. The two-year-old Helios 300 is obtainable within the meantime with a 15.6-inch full-HD IPS show with a 144Hz refresh price, an Intel Core i7-8750H CPU, Nvidia GTX 1060 GPU with 6GB of reminiscence, 16GB of system RAM and a 256GB NVMe SSD on Amazon for $1,024. We reviewed the 17-inch model, which we appreciated for its distinctive options.  The corporate's mainstream Nitro 5 can be getting a refresh, however just like the Helios, the previous fashions are nonetheless round. It is not as polished as Dell's or Lenovo's choices and Acer does not provide it with a GTX 1060 GPU. However $580 will get you one with GTX 1050 Ti graphics proper now.
Tumblr media
HP's Pavilion Gaming Laptop computer is just like Dell's G sequence, providing you with a mainstream possibility as a substitute of shelling out for a pricier PC from its Omen gaming model. An attention-grabbing vent design and inexperienced backlit keyboard and accents are the one actual giveaways that it isn't your common laptop computer. Costs begin at $780 on HP's website with Nvidia's 2GB GeForce GTX 1050, however an Amazon unique config with a 4GB GeForce GTX 1050 Ti and a six-core Intel Core i7-8750H processor is obtainable for $999 and its efficiency did not disappoint.
Tumblr media
Sarah Tew/CNET The TUF is available in a number of configurations, however all of them have a soft keyboard for lengthy gaming classes and Asus says it is further sturdy, lasting for as much as 20 million key presses. The most affordable configuration's show is poor high quality and total isn't a very good deal. You may, nonetheless, get it with a greater IPS-level show, a 3GB 1060, a quick 256GB SSD and a quad-core Intel Core i5-8300H for $700.
Gaming laptops in disguise
Between the built-in graphics you discover in most nongaming laptops and within the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 are Nvidia's MX household of discrete graphics processors, with the MX150 on the high of the road.  Body charges aren't going to be quick sufficient for pleasing play on high-detail settings with newer graphically demanding video games. In our assessments, nonetheless, older video games similar to Bioshock Infinite have been playable, as have been well-liked on-line video games similar to Overwatch and Fortnite. Beneath are a few our favorites, however in the event you're an off-the-cuff gamer hold a watch out for the MX150 elsewhere.
Tumblr media
Sarah Tew/CNET For $600, the E 15 is an absolute discount for a desktop alternative. Together with the MX150 graphics and an eighth-gen Intel Core i5 processor, you get a very good 15.6-inch full-HD show, a bevy of ports -- new and previous -- and even a DVD burner for these nonetheless working on this planet of bodily media.
Tumblr media
Sarah Tew/CNET Whereas all the opposite laptops listed below are massive 15.6-inch fashions and weigh round 5 kilos every, the $940 ZenBook 13 is a beautiful 13.3-inch ultraportable. In truth, when it launched it was the world's thinnest 13-inch laptop computer with discrete graphics, making it a sensible choice for a little bit gentle gaming on the go in between conferences or courses.
Shopping for suggestions for affordable gaming laptops
You will need to ensure you get probably the most graphics energy you possibly can afford from the beginning since this cannot be upgraded later, not like reminiscence or storage. If you happen to're on a strict funds, go together with certainly one of Nvidia's Geforce GTX 1050 or 1050 Ti graphics playing cards, which provides you with good efficiency on newer video games at medium or excessive settings with costs beginning down round $600. If you happen to can afford to spend nearer to $1,000, you will be higher off, in the long term, getting a laptop computer with an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 with 3GB or 6GB of reminiscence. We're additionally beginning to see programs with Nvidia's new GTX 1650 GPU, which falls between the 1050 Ti and 1060 in efficiency.  Past the graphics chip, search for:  Seventh- or eighth-gen Intel Core i5 or i7 processor At the very least 8GB of reminiscence (RAM)At the very least a 256GB solid-state drive (SSD), a combo of a 128GB SSD and laborious drive or a big solid-state hybrid drive (SSHD) Most if not all gaming laptops allow you to simply develop or improve your reminiscence and storage, so once more, it is best to place your money into the GPU and processor. Certain, you will get extra on your cash with a gaming desktop, but when you do not have room for one or it's essential to have mobility, these budget-friendly laptops are well worth the funding. Acer Aspire Nitro 5 Review
[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Could this be one of the best budget gaming laptops on the market right now? Let’s dive in and see what you get and my thoughts on Value for Money.
This review was co-written as to have a more honest view, both parties used the laptop for 1 week, playing the same games and running the same software. The review was written in a discussion environment with 2 parties having to agree on the thought of the hardware.
  Case
Though this laptop has some bulk it is still considered slim in the world of gaming laptops. It features a black case along with red details and a backlit keyboard. The casing is well made and stable. The laptop weighs just under 3KGs (2.7) which you may consider heavy, but for what you’re getting it is well worth it.
Display
The Display is 15.6-inch with a native resolution of 1920×1080, the screen is not the brightest but relatively bright for an IPS Display. The quality is better than that of any other IPS I have used before and would say they managed to put on a pretty decent display for budget laptop.
Processor
The quad core i7-7700HQ is still one of the best choices for a gaming laptop as it does not take a lot of power to run and still has sufficient processing power. It has a base clock rate of 2.8GHz but can be pushed up to 3.8Ghz, this is only possible whilst being plugged into a power source. It also supports Hyper-Threading.
Graphics
In the upper mid-range for GPU’s, The Nitro 5 comes with a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050Ti, It supports DirectX 12 and is capable of reaching speeds up to 1734 MHz. It comes with 4GB GDDR5 graphic memory available. It also features switchable graphics.
Speakers
Being at the bottom of the laptop, the dual speaker set up of the laptop offers an enjoyable audio level, Although in my personal experience they are a tad quiet when compared to ‘everyday white noise’. I suggest rather using external speakers, earbuds or headphones to get the best experience from this laptop.
Noise
The laptop is as quiet as a butterfly until you start up a game, then you can hear the cooling kick in. The noise level minor, but still noticeable. The unit still has the super cool option which gives the laptop a kick the fans and gets the air flowing really hard, this generally creates quite a buzz but soon after it will return to normal.
Storage/Memory
This laptop comes equip with a 256GB SSD (This kind of SSD runs via a PCIe x4 interface, which supports significantly higher transfer rates than the SATA-III interface does) for storage on this specific model as reviewed and 16GB DDR4 2400MHz RAM (32GB Max).
Battery
The battery can last up to around 14hrs (Idle without WLAN and min brightness) or around 1 hour while gaming at max brightness. The battery is one of the smaller batteries I have seen on a gaming laptop, which I think is probably not a big deal for gamers, as most people generally use their laptop at home or prefer laptops because they game on the go, but rarely without the use of the charger.
Webcam/Accessories
The laptop features no accessories, it does however come with the usual. A webcam that is able to capture at 1280×720, it is not the best image quality but it’s good enough for any skype, discord or some Omegle. The mic boasts 2 mics and the audio is decent, smooth but very much reverbed (Which I think might have just been a setting I couldn’t find).
Connections
You’re going to be getting the standard laptop connection options, including 3 Type-A USB ports (2 of which are USB 2.0, along with 1 USB 3.1 gen1) and a single USB 3.1 gen 1 Type-C port. HDMI, Gigabit Ethernet, SD-card reader, Security lock, combined audio jack and the power supply.
Touchpad
The laptop comes with a clickable touchpad which is 10.6 x 7.7cm which allows for gesture control. The touchpad is quite smooth and reacts well to touch all around, the click of the touchpad has some resistance. Let’s be honest though, only psychos use these thing for gaming.
Keyboard
The backlit keyboard (red) which can be toggled on or off with a function key features keys that offer some resistance in spite of it being a chiclet keyboard, The main keys have a slight concave surface, while others are flat.
Performance
Being an entry-level laptop, it can still run most if not all of the current games out there at a sufficient quality, as well as perform great all-round. It comes with a stock acer application called Acer Quick Access, it offers an option called CoolBoost which makes the fan run faster to help cool the hardware better. This mean higher performance.
Gaming Performance
Full HD resolution with medium to high quality settings is where this laptop performs best, some games can run at maximum quality settings. For example Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG) at maximum quality settings sits at an average of 36 fps but at low you’ll be reaching 120+ fps, both of which at Full HD resolutions.
  Thoughts
The Acer Nitro 5 is a powerful laptop in the upper mid-range that can run all the games on the market right now at a respectable frame rate. It is a good all-round laptop that has a focus on the gaming side of the market. You’ll have to forget about gaming at the maximum quality settings for certain games, this laptop was simply not made for that. This mid-ranged budget laptop boasts decent performance for exactly that, a budget. You’ll find the odd frame drop every now and then with games such as Fortnite, Assetto Corsa and Overwatch, However, I noticed massive frame drops for a long length of time (10 secs or so) when playing graphically intensive games, such as Jurassic World Evolutions and Tomb Raider. All in all, as a desktop guy, I think that this is pretty standard for gaming laptops nowadays and I personally, would not pay the price asked for this machine, But some people prefer laptops and that’s just how it has to be, Thanos once said “Balance, is life” (Ok so he didn’t actually say that but I wish he did)[/vc_column_text][vc_gallery type=”image_grid” images=”31710,31711,31712,31713,31714,31715,31716,31717,31718″][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]

HP Omen, A Gaming Laptop for Everyone; a Worthy Dell Alienware Competitor
The Gaming Laptops tend to have a certain reputation in the design department. The teams that work on these systems do so in a vacuum, and they feed off of the designs of other gaming laptops in an attempt to one-up their competitors' audacity with each new release.
Tumblr media
HP went big with its Omen gaming machines last year, giving us some major VoodooPC flashbacks in the process. Unfortunately, the laptops felt like a downgrade from the slick Omen gaming notebook that HP launched in 2014. This year, the company decided to turn things around. The new Omen 15 fixes everything wrong with the previous model, thanks to a more stylish design and VR headsets with enough graphics power. It doesn't stand out from the increasingly crowded gaming laptop market, but it at least allows HP to stay in the fight. The HP Omen 15 is everything we wanted from the company’s gaming line. It looks great, is fast enough to handle most games in 1080p, and it can finally support VR (with a graphics upgrade). While we would have liked to see a bit more graphical oomph to run games decently in 4K, the Omen 15 should satisfy most gamers. Pros: Perfect for 1080p gaming Great keyboard and mouse Gorgeous display Attractive design (for gamers) VR ready (with the GTX 1060 model) Cons: Terrible battery life Not powerful enough to actually play games in 4K HP Omen specifications OS Windows 10 Home 64-bit Material Plastic Processor Intel Core i7-7700HQ 2.8GHz / 3.8GHz (Base/Turbo) Chipset Mobile Intel HM175 Storage 256GB M.2 SSD | 1TB HGST 7200RPM HDD RAM (User upgradable) Display 15.6-inch 1080p 120Hz panel with G-Sync Graphics NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 (6GB) Ports One Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) One Ethernet Three USB 3.1 ports One HDMI 2.0a One Mini DisplayPort 3.5mm headphone/microphone Audio Bottom-firing stereo speakers Bang & Olufsen Wireless Intel dual-band Wireless-AC (802.11a/b/g/n/ac + Bluetooth 4.1) Keyboard Full-size with red RGB backlighting (white LEDs under WASD) Camera Full HD IR webcam (Windows Hello support) Battery 70WHr 200W power adapter Weight 5.8 lbs. / 2.62 kg. Dimensions (H x W x D) 0.97 in x 15.3 in x 10.8 in 24.8 mm x 388 mm x 275 mm Price $1,779. Hardware The last Omen notebook tried to downplay its gaming sensibility with a somewhat boring aesthetic. Perhaps that was in an effort to make it appeal to a broader audience, but it's not the sort of thing most gamers are looking for. The new Omen 15 has a more aggressive, 'fighter jet' design that emphasizes sharp lines and angles instead of friendlier rounded corners. You can tell it's a gaming machine just by looking at it, which should make it more tempting to people who view their rigs like hot rods.

The Omen 15's case is still made of plastic; not machined aluminum like the gorgeous 2014 model; but it's mostly sturdy. The aesthetic is all black and crimson, with a touch of faux carbon fiber for good measure. It's an elegant design overall, but I'm not sure how well it would hold up over time. At 5.68 pounds, it's on the lighter end for a full-fledged gaming laptop. You definitely won't mistake the Omen 15 for an ultraportable, but it's easy to carry around. Additionally, HP applied NVIDIA's Max-Q design philosophy, which is one reason why it's so portable. The Omen 15 doesn't take Max-Q as far as ASUS' Zephyrus laptop, though, which comes in under five pounds and packs in more-powerful hardware. As for ports, the Omen 15 includes three USB 3.0 connections, a USB-C socket with optional Thunderbolt connectivity, an SD card reader and an Ethernet jack. It also has full-size HDMI and Mini DisplayPort connections for video output. If you want to upgrade later on, you can also remove the bottom of the laptop to swap out its SSD, hard drive and RAM -- in theory, at least, since some of the tiny screws wouldn't budge when I tried to open the case. Even worse, they ended up getting stripped, which means a Phillips-head screwdriver can't grip them anymore. Keyboard and trackpad To give the laptop more of a premium feel, HP draped a layer of aluminum around the keyboard and trackpad, both of which are also significantly improved over last year's. The keyboard feels great to type on, with a decent amount of travel and it is also very responsive for games.
Tumblr media
There's a full number pad on the right side of the keyboard, as well as a crimson backlight for when you're gaming in the dark. HP claims it offers '26-key rollover anti-ghosting,' which means it can accept that many key commands at once without mistaking any inputs. That's particularly useful for fast typists and gamers who need to hit plenty of keys often. The Omen 15's touchpad is smooth and accurate for all of your productivity needs, and its two buttons are also very responsive. Display and sound The Omen 15's 15.6-inch display is available in in 4K or 1080p with a fast 120Hz refresh rate. You can also choose from G-Sync-compatible screens for NVIDIA GPUs and Freesync displays for AMD chips. The screen was also great for movies and TV shows, but that's a less notable achievement.
Tumblr media
The Omen isn't powerful enough to play games well in 4K. Most gamers would be better off with the 1080p screen, since its speedy refresh rate would let you see up to 120 frames per second. That adds up to a much smoother gaming experience overall. The Omen 15's speakers were also impressive, delivering a surprising amount of volume and detail for laptop speakers. Since they sit toward the front of the laptop, it's almost as if the sound is coming toward you, which makes for much more natural-sounding audio. Obviously, they're no match for a decent set of gaming headphones or external speakers, but it's nice to have some solid built-in sound. Performance and battery life The Omen 15 is powered by Intel's i7-7700HQ CPU and your choice of NVIDIA's GTX 1050, 1050Ti or 1060 graphics cards. The lowest-end model features AMD's Radeon RX550 GPU, if you're aiming to save a few bucks. The laptop also packs in between 8GB and 16GB of RAM, and you can choose among a variety of SSD options and larger 2.5-inch hard drives for storing all of your games.
Tumblr media
Overall, it has much more horsepower than last year's Omen. If you want to dabble in VR, though, you'll have to step up to the GTX 1060 version to run the Oculus Rift or HTC Vive. While every Omen 15 model has enough USB ports to support those headsets and their accompanying sensors, you need the extra bit of power from the GTX 1060 to make sure your games run smoothly. VR isn't like typical gaming: A few dropped frames could easily make you sick. Pricing and the competition The HP Omen 15 starts at $1,000 with AMD's Radeon RX550, but you'll have to shell out $1,300 if you want NVIDIA's GTX 1050. The top-end version with the GTX 1060, meanwhile, goes for around $1,659. The price can get higher depending on how much storage you stuff in. Mostly, HP is targeting Dell's Alienware 15 lineup, which begins at $1,200. Those machines weigh a few pounds more and don't have the benefit of Max-Q design, but they also have room to fit in more-powerful GPUs like NVIDIA's GTX 1070 and 1080. There's also Dell's Inspiron 7000, which starts at $1,000 but has a much more subdued design. If money is no object and you want to see just how far NVIDIA's Max Q design philosophy can go, check out ASUS' ROG Zephyrus. Be prepared to shell out at least $2,300 for the privilege of having the thinnest gaming laptop around. It is clear that HP learned from its mistakes. This year's model looks great, offers more power and actually has a good keyboard and trackpad. While hard-core gamers might want to hold out for the even more powerful Omen X, the Omen 15 should satisfy everyone else.
