eddie munson and music, a dump of music dates/facts regarding the timeline of the bands from eddie’s patches and pins (aka i wanted to know which patch came first)
band patches: megadeth, motorhead, iron maiden, dio
band pins: accept, judas priest, mercyful fate, w.a.s.p.
iron maiden, formed 1975 but took about 5 years for them to get their act together and release anything, first album being "iron maiden" april 14 1980. eddie would have been 13-14 (assuming 19-20 in 1986)
first single was running free also in 1980
featuring early drama with members before getting solid first members such as
"Iron Maiden recruited yet another guitarist in 1977, Bob Sawyer, who was sacked for embarrassing the band on stage by pretending to play guitar with his teeth."
motorhead was also formed 1975. considered precursor to new wave of british heavy metal which re-energized heavy metal in late 70s early 80s.
lead vocals/bass, lemmy, formed motorhead after being dismissed from hawkmind cause of arrest in canada due to drugs
name was inspired by final song he wrote for hawkmind
they were supporting act to blue oyster cult in 1975
first album, motorhead, 21 August 1977. eddie would have been 10-11 (assuming 19-20 in 1986)
megadeth, formed 1983, first album killing is my business... and business is good in 1985
dio, formed in 1982, by ronnie james dio who left black sabbath with intentions to form band with fellow former black sabbath drummer vinny appice
first album, holy diver may 25 1983. eddie would have been 16-17 and would have just finished junior year
second album, the last in line july 2 1984. this is the patch from back of vest (probably from a tour shirt)
http://www.dio.net/tour/the_last_in_line.html tour dates
On The Last In Line US tour Twisted Sister warmed up at least some shows. Also, some sources claim that Keel would've been warming-up band at some point of the tour, but it hasn't been confirmed yet.
if eddie went to one it is most likely to have been 1984-08-10 at hara arena in dayton ohio opened by twisted sister as it is closest to hawkins
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hara_ArenaHara Arena
Hara Arena was a 5,500-seat multi-purpose arena located in the Trotwood, Ohio suburb of Dayton. The facility began as a ballroom in 1956, added an arena in 1964 and grew to a six-building complex which closed in August 2016.
Black Sabbath, related to dio, formed in 1968 by guitarist Tony Iommi, drummer Bill Ward, bassist Geezer Butler and vocalist Ozzy Osbourne.
Sharon Arden suggested former Rainbow vocalist Ronnie James Dio to replace Ozzy Osbourne in 1979
Dio's addition to the band marked a change in Black Sabbath's sound. "They were totally different altogether", Iommi explains. "Not only voice-wise, but attitude-wise. Ozzy was a great showman, but when Dio came in, it was a different attitude, a different voice and a different musical approach, as far as vocals. Dio would sing across the riff, whereas Ozzy would follow the riff, like in "Iron Man". Ronnie came in and gave us another angle on writing."
first album, 1970, black sabbath. (eddie would have been 3-4)
Rainbow, also related to Dio, also known as Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow or Blackmore's Rainbow, formed in 1975.
They were originally established with half of the members of frontman Ronnie James Dio's previous band Elf,
first album, 1975 (eddie would have been 8-9), Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow
Elf was an American rock band founded in 1967 by singer and bassist Ronnie James Dio.
The band was originally called the Electric Elves, but was shortened to the Elves in 1968 and finally Elf in 1972. Elf disbanded in 1975 after recording three albums and after most of the lineup had been absorbed into the newly formed Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow.
first album, elf, 1972 (eddie would have been 5-6)
Dio in general
Ronald James Padavona known professionally as Ronnie James Dio
grew up listening to opera, vocally influenced by mario lanza
started off on the trumpet and played in high school band.
(He attributed his singing ability to the use of breathing techniques he learned while playing trumpet)
formed his first rock n roll group in high school, the vegas king (1957)
(changed named to ronnie and the rumblers and then ronnie and the redcaps).
changed to Ronnie Dio and the Prophets in 1960. which transformed into the electric elves in 1967
in 2006, dio joined black sabbath members to tour as heaven & hell. and recorded stuff for black sabbath in 2007 and toured in 2008
Accept, formed in 1976. first album Accept january 16 1979 (eddie would have been 12-13)
Judas Priest, formed in 1969. first album Rocka Rolla september 6 1974 (eddie would have been 7-8)
Mercyful Fate, formed in 1981. first album Melissa october 30 1983 (eddie would have been 16-17)
W.A.S.P., formed in 1982. first album, W.A.S.P. august 17 1984 (eddie would have been 17-18)
(the research conclusion, motorhead patch probably came first followed by iron maiden and then megadeath and finally dio )

Jake E. Lee (born February 15, 1957) is an #heavy #metal #guitarist signed to Shrapnel Records. He is best known for #playing in the Ozzy Osbourne #band from 1983-1987 and later in Badlands with Ray Gillen. He formed the band Red Dragon Cartel in 2013. Their eponymous first album was released in January 2014 and entered at #69 on Billboard’s Album Charts.[1] He has also recorded solo works in his own name, examples being instrumental album A Fine Pink Mist (1996, Pony Canyon Records) and covers album Retraced (2005, Shrapnel).
Lee soon left Ratt to join Rough Cutt, who were at that time produced by Ronnie James Dio and managed by his wife, Wendy. After hearing Lee in Rough Cutt in 1982, Dio invited Lee to join his new solo band Dio, which he was forming after departing Black Sabbath. Lee accepted, though his time in Dio’s band was short-lived. According to drummer Vinny Appice, there were rehearsals with Lee and Dio and recordings of those rehearsals still exist. Lee claims to have written the main riff to “Don’t Talk to Strangers” (which would later appear on the Holy Diver album) and that Dio wanted him to play “simple block chords that wouldn’t trample on his vocals”.
When Ozzy Osbourne sought a permanent replacement for the deceased Randy Rhoads, he came to Los Angeles to audition lead guitarists. Bassist Dana Strum, who had recommended Rhoads to Osbourne in 1979, this time recommended Lee for the job. Osbourne was torn between Lee and Dokken guitarist George Lynch. Though Osbourne is said to have initially chosen Lynch, he soon changed his mind and Lee became his full-time guitarist for the next five years. Lee joined Osbourne’s band in late 1982 following the tour supporting the Speak of the Devil live album which featured Brad Gillis on guitar.
With Lee, bassist Bob Daisley then began writing lyrics and recording the Bark at the Moon album. The songs “So Tired” and “Bark at the Moon” were released as singles, with accompanying videos, and they received regular airplay on MTV and radio. To date, the album has sold three million copies in the U.S.[2]

I am going through the APPIC process now and I want to throw up and/or burst into tears. Do you have any tips for performance based interview questions? Do you think it's acceptable to answer "I need more experience in xyz" when they ask what your clinical weaknesses are?
(for folks who don’t know- APPIC is the US process for predoctoral internships for clinical/counseling/school PhD and PsyD students- more information here. Internship interviews are happening now, and the match is next month.)
Hi anon,
I totally understand- it’s such a stressful process.
For performance based interviews- have a few clinical cases ready to go, ideally that apply to a number of different possible questions. For example, I had a client with a complex clinical presentation (multiple severe anxiety disorders + personality disorder) who I could talk about a) doing a psychodiagnostic assessment; b) doing a structured, evidence-based manual; c) dealing with transference and countertransference; d) using ongoing assessment/routine outcome monitoring; and e) how my supervisor supported me. Less to remember that way. Have at least two cases that illustrate things going well. I think I had four total cases in mind and that was enough.
Also have multiple situations in mind of your professional behavior- including two situations where you had a disagreement or other difficulty with your supervisor or another colleague (I know, ugh). These should be situations where things worked out okay and neither you nor your supervisor look terrible, but that you show growth, the ability to take criticism well, and the ability to work well with other people. It does not (really, should not) be a big deal situation- one of mine was a situation where I worked with a colleague on a project we both felt strongly about and wanted to take the lead on, and eventually decided to take a backseat because it wasn’t doing either of us or the project any good to be arguing over the details of it.
Once you have your situations- be ready to talk about them, and describe what you learned. Be able to integrate the interviewer’s exact take on the question. Lots of people will ask you for some version of “tell me about a time where things went wrong and you fixed it,” but some will focus on one aspect or another, so really lean into whatever they focused on- how did you know it was going on? what resources did you use to figure out how to fix it? what theoretical orientation did you use? how did you collaborate with your supervisor or your client? etc. Ultimately, you want to show that you are experienced, thoughtful, competent, willing to learn, and work well with others. Openness and thoughtfulness are so important.
About clinical weaknesses- yes. Weaknesses are often about gaps or things you have some training in but not enough. So saying, I’ve worked a lot with teens 12-15 but not 16-19 so I need that because of my goal to work in high schools works well. Just have a rationale. “Because I haven’t done that yet” isn’t as compelling.
Good luck!!

"Here Mr. Crowley! Here!" Cheka called out as he ran towards the Headmaster holding out a piece of paper that he'd written out all by himself, at least as best as he could. "It's my 'appication'! I wanna go here and take classes with Uncle Leona t'day! I wanna do potion drinks and play soccer and whatever else he does."
⪩ Unprompted Asks ⪨
“My, my, my. It seems that the young Prince is in high spirits today.”
A leisurely stroll through the halls of his beloved College often brought about a number of surprises. At times they were pleasant, others-- horrendous, and in certain occasions just like this one, it was quite curious and opportunate.
Sprinting behind him was the very personification of the Savannah’s radiant glow, Prince Cheka. A sheet of paper in hand which Crowley took in order to asses. “An application, you say?” For schooling at Night Raven College, no less. Would it break the young boy’s heart if he were to say that this wasn’t EXACTLY how one gets admitted into the school?
No, no. This is a young prince, it would not be prudent to reject a prince’s whims. Not to mention, we wouldn’t want to upset our relationship with Sunset Savanna over such a trifle matter.
He was simply too kind to let down a child so eager.
However…
“My apologies, young Kingscholar. You are simply too young to ‘go here and take classes’.” He began.
“However, since your request is but a day, I believe that I can arrange something for you. Mr. Kingscholar is an outstanding young man, so surely taking classes with him for a day should do no harm.” He ended with that signature grin of his. "Ah, truly my graciousness knows no bounds!"
Crowley told no lie. Leona was one of the more astounding students here at NRC, and yet his rather problematic sense of indolence holds him back. Perhaps the illusion of the institution thinking about accepting younger students… with the young Prince as the test model, could get him a little more eager to actually stop getting held a year back and actually graduate.
