The Deadman's Forest - Beneveera (Acarella)
Since the poll has 5 days until it finishes, I've decided I'll cover some stuff in Murdanland and Beneveera first before that ends.

Deadman's Forest
Of the 11 territories with Beneveera, the Deadman's Forest is an unclaimed portion that is ESPECIALLY dangerous.
Before recorded history, there was a great catastrophe. A devil from the underworld ripped its way through the fabric between the two planes and effectively brought the Old Age to a complete end and reset civilization. The devil was named the Abberant Splitjaw, noticeable by its, well, split jaw.
After it was slain by an unnamed hero, the corpse began decomposing and turning into raw magic. Due to the tear between the two realities, magic was already spilling into the Mortal Plane, but paired with the extremely dense concentration of magic around the Deadman's Forest, it caused it to begin mutating and evolving far past the rate the rest of the world was, the water turned blood-red and the forest gained a dark purple tint, the wildlife began transforming into beings that were barely recognizable with each generation, the fauna began adapting the dense magic in different ways, in simplified terms, the Deadman's Forest turned into an alien world. The rest of the world was also evolving at an insane rate due to the magic, but the Deadman's Forest was hit especially hard. Throughout the years, the giant corpse of the Abberant Splitjaw was revered as a "curse by the gods" from local tribes, until humans properly adapted to the magic, merely approaching the forest would cause cancerous growths to form on your skin. Humans were especially vulnerable to this.
Towards the later stages of Human advancement, once they began breaking out of the stoneage, they had begun to adapt better to much, and occasionally, a child of God would be born and be able to harness the power of magic. Around the start of the Bronze age, the continent of Beneveera had especially begun pioneering magical research compared the rest of the world. It eventually became regarded as the Continent of the Arcane.

I wish I knew this thing existed before my friend made the map for acarella, lol
For all you worldbuilders out there, I don't know if you know, but r/worldbuilding on Reddit made this Google Doc with a ton of resources they gathered. Thought that might help some of you.

Beneveera (Acarella.)
Tumblr media
Beneveera, home of the Dead Man's Forest, a bruise upon the world of Acarella, a mark of a dark past that defined the world itself.
Beneveera is by far one of the most populated continents of Acarella, being a mostly temperate environment. It is mostly known for having spawned some of the definitive events in history, but it is also considered the continent of the Arcane; Having some of the densest magic due to the influence of the Dead Man's Forest.
The hugely dense magic here has caused the local wildlife and fauna to mutate beyond control; Especially inside the Deadman's Forest, being only describable as an alien world inside of it.
The continent of Beneveera is under the protection of the Eight Saints. A powerful group of people whom devoted themselves to Eskalin, a being with incomprehensible power, considered as a Warfelt, a race of beings with power comparable to the gods, but not in competition with it.

Witches - Acarella
Akin to the Beneveera saints, the Witches are a legendary group of Magic practitioners. However, their power is more akin to that of the gods.
A Witch is created when a Primordial Spirit occupies a vessel; The power would normally cause any vessel to immediately implode as if under immense pressure, but on the off-chance that the vessel is Suitable, the vessel is incarnated. The Primordial Spirit and the vessel become one. The Primordial Spirit and the vessel are no more, but rather a new being.
After this new being has been formed, the soul, with properties of that both of a Mortal and a Spirit, matures at an exceptional rate, maturing at a rate of about 100 years every year. This growth plateaus after 10 years, and becomes that of 10 years every year. They are unaging, once the vessel is formed, then that's the way they'll look the rest of their life unless they use a magic or similar method to change their appearance.
Witches usually take the form of a humanoid woman. The extreme maturing rate can take a toll on the vessel's body, and the female's body can handle the burden better than that of mens. Though, male witches have been documented.
There are currently 7 known witches, within both the Underworld and the Mortal Plane.
--
I will make separate posts for each witch as I make them and commission art for them!!

The Magic of Acarella
The magic of Acarella originates from the Spiritual Plane and the Underworld; Leaking into the Mortal Plane and giving mortals the ability to wield and use magic.
Magic is a gift that can only be used by those whom who have a contract with a Spirit. At birth, a Spirit will attach itself to you and form a contract with you. In exchange for it feeding off of your souls maturity, it grants you power and the ability to use magic.
The magic given by the spirits is named a Spiritual Gift. Each person has their own specific and unique spiritual gift, while they can use other magics, their spiritual gift can far exceed what any other magic they use can do.
A spiritual gift forms based off of multiple factors; The user's character. Their fate and destiny. Their body. Their hopes and dreams. All of these come together to form a spiritual gift once the host's soul matures enough, usually from ages 12 - 16.
Similarly, the spirit's Domain also has an effect on how the gift develops. If a spirit's domain is that of Metal, the gift will develop based around that, but as spirit's domain does not have to be an element, object or anything material, it can be a concept or an idea as well.
An example of a Spiritual Gift is that of the Bearer of the Dragonkin, Sanma Colgrid, the first reported Draconian, born within Beneveera. His gift was that of a Spirit of Fire, however, he could not control fire or create it, instead, his gift was to convert friction into powerful explosions.
After years of developing and growing his technique, two noteworthy abilities he developed were;
Afterburn. Using his gift, he converted the friction his heart creates when pumping into an explosion inside of his heart, strengthening his heart with a minor spell. This technique is extremely self-destructive, while it grants him power beyond what would have been capable before, it also slowly burns his body from the inside, if used for too long or consecutively without time to recover, it'd turn his body to ash.
After decades of mastering his technique, he learned to manifest his explosions as lightning.
There are no limits to what a spiritual gift can be; It entirely depends on how it develops, though.

Good heavens, it's been a week since I last posted, I've been slacking. Anyways, Carasadia won the poll and I'll be posting about it soon! In the meantime, I just got my own sona finished! It's my current PFP and banner. And it's right here too.
Tumblr media
Her name is Lyra. I call her my sona but she's not that similar aside from personality. I'll do a post on her soon too, since she exists within the Acarella world as well. (Gotta have a self-insert somewhere) Oh yeah. The other art is under way too!

ART!!! for the characters!! waow
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Lyra - (Art on the left by snurtle, art on the right by aacytone) The character I designed specifically for myself, kind of like a sona, kind of not. Lyra is a rather eccentric character. She has an extreme obsession with stories and appearing "cool", she is by far from being sane but isn't dangerous to be around. Despite her nature, she has a rather stout set of morals, which serve to compliment her power, which seems to bend reality itself. Lyra's power is compared to that of gods; but in reality, it's far greater than just that. Thanks to her obsession with being cool, she limits her power a majority of the time. While she is regarded as one of, if not the most powerful being in existence, there are multiple accounts of different versions of her throughout each plane of existence. No one knows which one is most accurate or which one to trust. She's also believed to be the one who gifted the power of the Saint to each of Beneveera's saints, and possibly even others. With the inconsistent documentation of Lyra throughout the world, even often including different names and appearances, she's regarded as a myth or legend in most places, while sort of a deity in others.
Tumblr media
Toa Saka - (Art by airrr1zreal on Twitter, also known as Shafin) her last name being a real thing is a complete accident lmao. I thought I made it up but I must've heard it somewhere and thought I was a genius. She is also one of the only characters who is a part of an actual, full bloodline within Acarella. Toa Saka, the child of Suwa Saka, is an honest and blunt person. She is and "act before you think" kind of person and leaves most of the thinking up to her fists and guns. At a young age, after losing her mother, she left her home to follow in her footsteps as a mercenary, and found the person who'd soon become her teacher. Around 19, she separated from her teacher. Toa's power allows her to create small portals in space that allow her to store things. After some mastering during her time with her teacher, she learns how to use it for short-distance transportation and even begins adapting it for combat once she learns how to create portals that connect to each other. She eventually reaches an epiphany which allows her to create pseudo-blackholes by creating two connecting portals and moving them inside themselves. While they obviously aren't as strong as literal blackholes, this opens the opportunity for her to harness gravity as well. (again, suwa being a real name is also an accident... I suck at making up names, but yes, the names are meant to be japanese-inspired but not literally japanese. not gonna bother changing it now though because it's been so long)

Murdanland (Acarella)
Murdanland is one of the 6 continents of Acarella. It is known as a lawless and frozen land, with mountains that reach the stars and caverns that extend deep beneath the earth. The land is populated of horrible beasts, stragglers and outcasts, and daring adventurers that have little regard for their life. Murdanland is considered a safe haven for those who have been exiled, are being hunted, or are social outcasts due to the lawless nature of the continent. Because of that, it has a very high crime rate among most cities.
Among the residents, there is no one majority race residing in Murdanland- It is arguably one of the most diverse continents in term of racial diversity, nearly as diverse as the terrain of Murdanland. Murdanland's geography is unpredictable, with one of the only constants being the freezing temperatures. From unbelievably large mountain ranges, canyons big enough to swallow a city, the absurd nature of this continent is likely linked to the presence of Melorona, the Serpent of Abstraction, the local deity of the area.

What is Acarella?
(This is for my worldbuilding project.)
Acarella is, in simple terms, a broad generalization of everything that resides within the boundaries of reality. It is split up into three known planes, the Mortal Plane, the Spirit Plane and the Underworld.
Starting with the Mortal Plane, the Mortal Plane is the plane wedged between the Spirit Plane and Underworld. It keeps the other two from colliding, but because of this, the Spirit Plane and Underworld are known to blur the lines of reality within the Mortal Plane, allowing things from the other planes to phase into the Mortal Plane.
On to the Underworld, the Underworld is a dangerous world in which the Mortal Plane would never be able to hope to match. The Underworld is the less active of the three planes though, meaning things from the Underworld are less likely to phase into the Mortal Plane. The reason being, the Underworld itself is sentient, it holds itself together, stopping Plane Shifting from occurring often. It's the most stable Plane of the three.
The Spirit Plane, often regarded as the Afterlife, is the least stable of the three planes. Reason being, much of the Spirit Plane is non-corporeal, meaning it is not possible for anything to enter without leaving behind their physical body, the Spirit Plane is completely made up of Mana. Plane Shifting does not happen the same as the Underworld, rather it's a steady flow into the Mortal Plane, allowing the Mortal Plane to harness the Arcane Arts and Miracles.
There is much more to these three planes, but there is far too much to get into here. Any questions will be answered, but if the question will be soon answered, I won't give a direct answer.
I am searching for Artists that may be interested in making art for this world, I am not able to pay currently, but I am working towards something that may help with that. Any volunteers will be accepted with open arms, regardless of skill and your art will be featured as soon as can be. I will repeat again though, until I can afford it, there will be no pay involved. Simply think of it as making fan-art, if you will.
