This manga has several character arcs focused around the evil of treating people like objects - particularly surrounding Endeavor, All for One, and Chisaki. Why doesn't that same logic apply for women?

no thoughts just ishida rin going to an event with his wife where they're supposed to be mingling and making connections to strengthen her family's company. he's exhausted an hour into the party but he's pushing through, that's what he does, that's what he's been taught (by his father? by his grandparents? who knows really, perhaps a mix of both of them). he's not using his cane because his grandparents told him it reflects poorly on them (& him to a lesser degree) & chiyo if he's seen with it. he doesn't understand that but he knows better than to question an order – that he did learn from his father.

he's so wrapped up in his head trying to remember the rules for socializing & hitting all the right points and remembering to express something on his face other than indifference or neutrality & keeping his exhaustion from being obvious that he doesn't even realise when chiyoko gets a little closer to him. she sneaks an arm around his waist, pulling him a little closer to her; she's a sturdy presence beside him, naturally keeping pace with the conversation and helping him stay upright. it happens so gradually he's hardly aware of it – his legs start to shake and he's grimacing because he knows if he keeps this up he's going to fall, or worse, and then he'll embarrass everyone, and the whole time chiyo is adjusting, supporting more of his weight (supporting him) so that he's not doing it all by himself. she let's him lean into her, as awkward as it is with their height difference.

after a couple more minutes she's looking up at him and makes some excuse to whoever they're supposed to be talking to before carefully helping him back to their table. the way she stays beside him, sometimes making excuses about why they're sticking so close to the table, is as natural as breathing. rin really can't help the way he watches her, really sees her as more than a friend for the first time; she's beautiful and she cares so much, the way she turns to him and rolls her eyes when another of her parents' peers says something ridiculous (usually about him, or them together. sometimes about his father, his family. chiyo is always so polite when she tells them to get lost, to shut their mouths and stay away from them.) she's a support, she has been since that day they first met – the circumstances were similar, he could hardly stand and she kept making excuses so they could rest. he has no idea how he didn't realise he loved her until this moment, how he didn't even know she loved him until now.

she smiles at him again and he's grabbing her arm – carefully, barely even touching her, light enough for her to pull away if she wants – bringing her closer and pulling her onto his lap. she's surprised by the sudden affection and it shows. rin is never the one to initiate things like this, they don't do things like this, not really. but here he is, arms around her waist and his head on her shoulder, looking so pleased with himself and his actions. like before, this comes to them naturally, as much of a shock as it is. it's easy for him to hold her like this and easier still for her to melt into it.

they stay like that until they're finally allowed to leave, they've met their obiligation and they can go home. chiyo tries to get up once she realises but he stops her, just long enough to tell her he loves her. he's never said those words to anyone before & she might be able to feel the weight of them, he hopes she can at least.

she says it back after she gets over her shock. she tells him later that he's the only one she can see herself saying that too for the rest of her life. those words, from her, are his. he tells her that he feels the same way. there would never be another person for him to say those to, he knew it like an undeniable fact. (the sky is blue, grass is green, and rin loves chiyoko. cherry trees blossom in the spring, the sun will set & rise each day, and chiyoko loves rin.)

a reading that describes chiyos future romances... i would love to know more abt this! r some of these potential futures that may or may not happen? or is this all for 1 future that miko thinks chiyo is down the path for?

some of these seem to describe chiyo in her future romances and others seem to describe her future partners, at least i think so unless chiyo is the abuser freeloader marriage scammer with a gambling addiction. i wonder which r which, is chiyo the 1 who will be divorced 4 times or is 1 of her future potential partners going 2 be some1 whos already divorced 4 times?

has any1 who speaks japanese and has the manga clarified b4 what she means by "chance of success: 2%"? this 2% is what was shown to be shun and chiyos "compatibility", so if these r rlly the exact words she means then is that what "compatibility" rlly is?
