Speak Now TV First Impressions

I do this thing with every new Taylor release where I go through the album, track by track, listening to one song at a time via the YouTube lyric videos and then pausing for a few minutes to jot down my initial thoughts and first impressions. I started doing it with Lover back in 2019, and I've done it with every album since.

I usually just post these as a thread on Twitter, but since I'm back being active on Tumblr again, I thought I'd also share here. I did listen to Speak Now TV out of order, with the Vault tracks first, so I'm just going to list everything in the exact order I played it below:

Electric Touch: I got chills all over my arms. All I kept thinking was, "This would have been KILLER to listen to in high school!" I did feel that Patrick's voice felt subdued by the production here, which wasn't my favorite, but the way he and Taylor sing "to-o-ou-ouch" together and their alternating vocals on the bridge are fantastic. Also excited to have a new Taylor Time! I want to see this one performed live SO badly.

When Emma Falls In Love: Still not 100% sure how I feel about this one yet. Probably the least exciting one from the Vault, for me personally. I absolutely love the line “like if Cleopatra grew up in a small town” though.

I Can See You: So sultry and sexy. I loved it immediately. I got strong 60s spy movie vibes. I also really want to know who this is about? I know what it makes me think of (April/May 2013), but what about Taylor??

Castles Crumbling: Oh my GOD. Possibly one of my favorite TS collabs of all time??? The way Hayley and Taylor’s voices harmonize with one another is hypnotic. This felt so ghostly and morbid, like a sister to Haunted and even a forefather to Nothing New? Biggest stand out to me so far.

Foolish One: Everything about this, down to the title, feels like a direct attack. There was absolutely a point in my life (in 2010, no less) when I would have played this CONSTANTLY. Maybe I should still do that now 🙃

Timeless: I started sobbing as soon as the first chorus hit. I recognized Marjorie in the lyric video thumbnail and knew that this one would probably make me emotional, but I wasn't expecting just how quickly it would reduce me to tears. My boyfriend overheard me crying and came out to the living room to hug me. Completely devastated me, but I love it. An even bigger stand out than CC!

I had to take a break to collect myself, and iced some cookies I made to celebrate the album release. My biggest thought with the Vault tracks was just, "Damn, I wish these had been out in the world back in 2010 because I really could have used them in high school." At least they’re here now though.

Superman: Listened while icing cookies because I knew that it would be the last song in my listen-through otherwise, and I didn't want to end the session on a sour note, because I do NOT like Taylor's intended subject on this song, or the person I used to personally associate it with when I was younger. It’s a good song! Just not one I gravitate toward anymore.

Mine: I immediately noticed the lack of earnestness, youth and twang in her voice on this recording. I don’t know why, but it was hard to get past. I just know this song SO well after all these years, and this version felt almost jarringly different.

Sparks Fly: This was better. Still not the same as the original, but a better mix of old and new, in my opinion. Also loved the inclusion of the Speak Now World Tour footage in the lyric video.

Back To December: Another one where I just know it so well that I can notice every single difference. Some of the vocal inflections were not my fave, but overall it’s another good mix of old and new. (Also I hope Taylor Lautner is having an incredible day, as he deserves.)

Speak Now: Right out of the gate, I hated her vocals on this one, which crushed me. This song was one I had been looking forward to hearing the most. As I kept listening, I was trying to reserve my judgement, but by the end I had to accept that I just do not like this version. The lack of youthful exuberance in her voice was extremely noticeable, and I felt that was to the detriment of the song. I'm so upset to say I don't like this one.

Dear John: Who else up wanting back their girlhood? Vocally, this was beautiful. This one transcends time, and actually hurts more to hear sung at 32. You can feel how her voice has changed from utter sadness to bitter anger. I loved how she completely capitalized, "OVER YOUR SAD EMPTY TOWN" in the lyric video.

Mean: THANK GOD THE TWANG IS BACK!!!!! If ever there was a song we needed it on, it was this one!! (Please can we keep this energy for Debut TV????? 🙏🏼)

The Story of Us: The whole time I was just thinking, "Okay!!!! Yes!!!!!" Vocally, this is exactly what I was hoping for. Killed it.

Never Grow Up: Had me sobbing again. I remember listening to this for the first time at 17 and thinking, “Is this going to be life one day?” and now I’m 30 and my friends have kids and I’m in my grown up apartment and it IS all so much colder than I thought it would be. This is another one that hurts more to hear sung at 32 than at 19. I feel like I can remember my whole life when I listen to it, which just makes the tears come harder. I had to stop and grab tissues from my room and hug my boyfriend for a bit before coming back to finish the album.

Enchanted: PERFECTION. So good. I adored the lyric video transition from her Speak Now World Tour performance of the song into her singing it at The Eras Tour.

Better Than Revenge: NO. Nope. I could write a dissertation at this point about why I think the lyric change was a massive, massive mistake, but y’all already know. This was NOT the move at all and it will never hit as well as the original. I'm so disappointed.

Innocent: So good. Again, another one that hits different with age, especially hearing her sing, “Thirty-two and still growing up now.” I was remembering watching her perform it live at the VMAs for the first time as I was listening. Such a special moment that KW then came out and absolutely ruined with Runaway. I still firmly believe that this song is way, way too good for the person it’s about.

Haunted: Right off the bat all I could think was, "Uhhhhh what the FUCK happened to the production here????" That new echo-y layering effect is NOT IT and ruined the song for me.

Last Kiss: Immediately noticed different, sharper instrumentation with the harp, and I did not like it. Vocally it just didn't hit the same either. Instead of deeply sad, it just feels sort of lifeless. I probably put too much stock into this one because it means so much to me, but even still. I fully gave up on expecting the shaky breath to get a repeat feature because I just don’t think you can recreate something like that, but damn. This version just does not feel right to me and I’m sad about it.

Long Live: Tears AGAIN, this song always always gets me. This version is perfection, another timeless one. I think they made the right move by having the lyric video be comprised completely of footage of Taylor performing it on the Speak Now World Tour.

Ours: This was my absolute favorite song on the album back in the day. I always loved how you could hear the smile in her voice as she sang, and unfortunately I didn’t really feel that at all on this version. At least we still had the giggle toward the end! Overall I think it’s still solid, just not the same, and that was disappointing.

My final thoughts after just one listen-through feel so up and down, which I was not expecting at all! I feel so conflicted and disappointed.

With Fearless TV, it took me a little bit to come around fully to the vocal changes. You just can't recapture that same youthful earnestness that she was singing with as a teenager. But when I got the vinyl in the mail and put it on, I don't know, something just finally clicked for me, and now I love it.

With Red TV, I was fully on board from the jump, and I consider the TV to be the definitive version of the album. But with Speak Now, it's nowhere close. I feel like half the original songs I really loved the new versions of, and half were huge let downs. That makes me so sad to say.

I know it's only been one listen, and if there's anything I've learned from tracking my first impressions over the past 5 years, it's that my opinions will absolutely morph and change as time goes on and I listen more and more. I just never expected to feel disappointment like this.

The last season of The Bold Type could have been better, it felt so rushed and a couple of the plot lines came out of nowhere and didn't make sense. At all.

I saw your post giving us a sneak peak for welcome to the digital age, babe and swooned when I saw you put a Taylor reference for me. I didn't read it though, because I prefer to experience the whole thing in one go.

Like I did last night, when you posted the whole chapter. Funnily enough, I was rereading another one of your fics: he laughed, she shrieked; she yearned, he loved. The references to Taylor's songs are not only greatly appreciated by me, but they also fit the story arc to a t. Weird how I hadn't brought that one up.

Now, the chapter. I'd firstly would like to thank every person who voted for angst on the twitter poll. I hope all of them are having a great day. I loved it. I loved the humour, their panic, their failed attempts at communicating how they're feeling, the fact that looking back from this chapter to the first or even second one, you can really see the progress their relationship has had, that we're officially in the mutual pining territory. THE MENTION OF BENJI. All of it.

I also would like to say that you do such an amazing job at conveying their emotions through text messages that it baffles me a bit. I think is a testament to how talented you are with words, that you can find the perfect way to arrange them so we can understand what they're feeling and thinking, without having access to their inner dialogues, descriptions of their facial expressions and basically only getting a summary of what happened based on what they text to each other and rest of the characters. I'm blown away by you every time I read a new chapter and can't wait for the next one. Meanwhile, you can find me in the pubwe rereading WCBCR again.

- completely agree about The Bold Type and it's super unfortunate that they ruined a great show with a poor final season. My favorite character was Sutton and they... made choices with her.

- lwekmfwklasdmf okay so I just realized that the TS reference I kept hyping up is in fact in the part of the chapter I cut off for the next one... Benjamin is, of course, a Tay reference but there's a better one in the next chapter that I think you'll appreciate

- !!!! you re-reading the song fic 🥺Penelope is just so Taylor and her entire experience with Colin works so well with TS's discography. That whole fic was truly inspired by "Mr. Perfectly Fine" (my obsession with that song re-ignites like once a month) and it's so much how I imagine Pen feeling after the incident

- Ahhh I had so much fun with the mutual pining and I love angst sm that I was all too happy to provide. Fluffy endings are just so much more satisfying with the struggle build-up and I'm so glad you enjoyed it!

- I say this every time but you're so so SO sweet oh my god. I think about every single word/phrase/message I write and the meaning behind them and it's so overwhelmingly amazing that people pick up on that and appreciate it. Also, the way you just casually throw in "I'm re-reading so and so" FLABERGASTS me. I know that people generally enjoy my writing and that's amazing but the idea of someone liking it so much that they re-read the same story I wrote is just so incredible and unbelievable that I don't even know how to put it into words. Thank you so so so much not only for reading but also for just letting me know. It's so thoughtful and wonderful and I just wish you all the happiness and good energy back. Okay I wanted to make a post about rep Tour Denver last night, but I’ll put it under the cut cause it might be long and I know not all of you care so. But if you wanted to read a superfan review @taylorswift or @taylornation here it is :)

So the day of I woke up at like 8 am cause that’s 9 am my time and I was just super excited. I held off on getting ready until I checked into my flight around 1. A little 1989 tour throwback for ya!

Okay so I got to the stadium around 2pm. My Lyft driver had asked me if Charli aka Charli XCX was her boyfriend. I set him straight don’t you worry. Anyway he had no idea where to drop me off at the stadium so just sort of let me out and I started walking toward the Merch bus, but saw her fleet of tour semis along the way.

I get closer to the Merch bus and some lady stops me and asks me where I’m headed so I told her and she told me I was in a restricted area so I apologized and told her my Lyft driver got lost. Oops. So I ended up buying the Grey tour hat, how could I not after the the TS Merch account retweeted me saying I wanted one. haha There was a little throne and I had some nice random people take my photo with it.

So I go find the line for field seating entry and Taylor Nation comes by and takes a video of us in line, so I made it on to their Insta and Twitter!!! I’m there for like 2 seconds maybe but I’m there. It was so HOT in the sun I was dying in this jacket but after I took it off for a while, I felt my shoulders burning so back on it went. I planned to go buy a water once I got inside, but I was just so overwhelmed, I had already started tearing up, that I just went straight to my seat and then I was too afraid to leave it for fear that I would miss something idk?? Anyway my seats looked fabulous, but I spent most of the time staring at her back and/or on the giant screen. Right next to the stage, but actually behind her with the layout

The video they played with her home videos and story up til now montage BITCH I CRIED. I sat there watching the rest of the videos wishing I had cash on me to buy water from the guy coming around with it, and then Charli XCX came out and she was fabulous. I was happy to finally actually know her opener, I knew most of Charli’s songs and sang and danced along she was fab. Camila came out walking right by that silver gate up there and waved at me so I waved back. The only song I know of hers is Havana so I just kind of swayed to her set, enjoying it. I had been warned that Tequila, Obsessed, and Bad Reputation would play before Taylor came out so I started freaking when they started. 

I immediately started crying when that opening video montage started playing, and kept saying leave her alone @ the lame-o rude media people featured, and basically bawled while singing through all of Ready For It, while still managing to do some of the choreo from her SNL performance that didn’t change. I managed to sing along to the tour version of IDSB pretty well, guess I’d watched that video on Twitter more than I realized. haha The crowd was so loud on the line “If a man talks shit then I owe him nothing!” incredible good job team. After that song though holy shit the crowd went insane. We were all yelling SO LOUD Taylor couldn’t even speak. She kept lifting up her microphone to try and would just smile, and laugh, and adjust her earpiece. We were really blowing her away I’m so proud of us. She told us several times throughout the night what a great, and loud crowd we were, said we were the best crowd she’s ever had at Denver. Said she loved that we were all just YELLING the words to every song. 

She was kind of on my side of the stage for LWYMMD and did the choreo from the music video, that iconic end part anyway, just modified cause this time she’s holding a mic, but I did it with her from the crowd it’s fine. It’s probably so good I was on the end of my row I needed the dancing space. I literally ran into the lady behind me during You Belong With Me when Taylor told us to jump. Guess I jumped backwards? LMAO I was too busy holding up my Fearless style hand heart. hahaha

Um so did she go to B stage after that or sing Don’t Blame Me? Listen I’m not a religious person AT ALL but Don’t Blame Me was a religious experience like I can’t even explain it. And when she fell to her knees on “I beg you on my knees to stay” like !!!!! stop girl you’re killing me it’s too much too much (don’t ever stop Taylor not ever)

Anyway so B stage acoustic set. DWOHT is my favorite on the album so I was singing it loudly but I felt like no one around me knew it?? So I could awkwardly hear my terrible singing voice the whole time?? Stop sleeping on my song people. But she said something like it’s been forever since I’ve played this song AND FUCKING SANG TEARDROPS ON MY GUITAR. Listen I screamed and doubled over and couldn’t stop crying, I like sob sang my way through the entire time and my legs were shaking. It was the first Taylor song I ever owned and she was singing it all these years later. Every time I thought about it for the rest of concert I started crying again.

After she was done at the second B stage, she took the snake skeleton thing back to main stage and I swear we made eye contact when she went past me while singing Bad Blood. And then during Getaway Car, she was on our side of the stage again. And again people around me weren’t really going crazy for the song so I started jumping up and down and waving at her and SHE POINTED RIGHT AT ME HI TAYLOR I LOVE GETAWAY CAR...AND YOU. 

Where did the piano acoustic set fit in this? It was somewhere and it was amazing and there was more crying from me I looked like a raccoon. Waterproof my ass, Tarte. Um so Long Live has always been special to me ever since I heard her sing it during the Speak Now tour (the night we first made eye contact, it was during Love Story) and I LOVE New Year’s Day so holy this mashup can I own it? Taylor release a tour album I want all of the mashups from this show. But she pauses toward the end of the song for whatever reason and we all went nuts again and she did THE ABSOLUTE CUTEST LITTLE EXCITED DANCE SHE WAS SO HAPPY I CAN’T STAND IT. WE DID THAT. WE CAUSED HER HAPPINESS I’M CRYING AGAIN HELP. 

I was in between two different confetti canons for Call It What You Want and I’ve never sat close enough at a Taylor show before to be showered in confetti so it was magical to have it swirling all around me I caught so many I couldn’t stop smiling. 

I started crying again during her finale cause I knew it was the last song and it was about to be over. Her and the dancers playing in that fountain though it looked so fun I wanted to join them. hahaha

I seriously can’t believe I get to experience it all over again three more times at Gillette. The only thing that could make the show even better, would be to finally get my Taylor hug at one but idk if that will ever happen, so many of us want that opportunity. I’ll just continue to dance my ass off and sing and cry from the crowd. Still makes for an epic night.

MERCURY ACT 2. JUST, M E R C U R Y A C T T W O. 18 TRACKS. 18!!!!! NO SKIP. IT WAS IMPLIED WITH MERCURY ACT 1 BUT I STILL DIDNT EXPECT IT SO SOON AND TO BE SO UNBELIEVABLY LONG!! Also Mercury Tour was fucking impeccable I wanna go back so badddddd. I’ve been in post concert depression ever since, it’s been WEEKS. Oh, and not even to mention the fucking Mercury Act 1 live performances on youtube that I somehow only recently discovered. And their three EPs being added to Spotify with each having an additional song!!!! AAAAA DOLPHINS AND HOLE INSIDE OUR CHESTS BRUH. Omfg and EASY WHICH IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE SONGS OF ALL TIME!!!! OH AND ON TOP OF ALL OF THIS IT IS ALMOST NIGHT VISIONS’ 10th ANNIVERSARY SO TO CELEBRATE WE ARE GETTING A NIGHT VISIONS 10TH ANNIVERSARY EDITION WITH TWO SONGS THAT WERE NEVER HEARD. KSSJDHDISKSKSK AND ALL BONUS SONGS ON ONE ALBUM FINALLY.

Tove Styrke LP4 HARD came out and it was a horny gay moment that I’m forever loving her for. Gave me some favorite songs of all time including Show Me Love, Hardcore, Milennial Blues, and Bruises. Just, some of her best ever which is saying a lot bc Sway really is THAT BITCH and totally deserves a Lizzo moment. Queen popped OFF. The build up was immaculate just like with Sway. We got 3 fucking AMAZING music videos (Show Me Love being an all time fave up there with Mistakes) and all the single art and promotion was so lovely and fun and it really defined the beginning of my spring and summer.

Okay idk what the last TS project was when I last updated but UM RED TV?!?!!! THAT WAS A WHOLE FUCKING ERA. IT WAS HUGE. IT WAS GLORIOUS. IT DEFINED MY FALL/WINTER SO ABSOLUTELY THAT I CANNOT THINK ABOUT THAT TIME WITHOUT THINKING ABOUT RED TV. AND NOW ANNOUNCED LAST NIGHT IS TS10 I REPEAT TS10!!!!!! MIDNIGHTS AAAAAAAAAA JESUS CHRIST IM NOT READY BUT IM SOOOOOO READY

Hayley Kiyoko’s LP2 came out and it’s SO good! Just a wonderful pop moment for her and so many catchy infectious tunes and lyrics. I really love it so much. Also she has a gf!!! So wonderful!

K.Flay released the second EP “Outside Voices” to go with “Inside Voices” and I had an obsessed moment there for a while but ultimately I wore out all those song prettty quickly. However, Caramel and Symphonies has gotta be one of the best new songs I’ve heard in a while. It just feels so fresh and new and it’s a unique concept and I genuinely love it. Maybe There’s A Way is also a stand out just because it is super relevant to me and the times. All really good songs I’m sure I’ll have another hyper fixation on them at some point.

Oh, RKS!!!!!!! They released their first single in YEARS. AND IT IS SOOOOO GOOD. LIKE FIVE HEAD S RANK BLOBPY AF. It’s heartbreaking and so full of emotion it makes me want to scream. It’s definitely gonna be one of my top five songs on spotify wrapped. Also the lead singer Ela came out as trans!!! She’s been having mental health difficulties but luckily the fans at large have been super supportive of the band and we all just want her to be well.

Megan Thee Stallion. Ohhhh bitch!!!! This queen right here. She released a whole bunch of content!!! But most recently was her new album Traumazine and the stand out song for me is Anxiety (which I’m sure it is for a lot of people. It’s just too relatable for the times). Not only is the message so relatable and important but it’s just an awesome lo fi track with YODELLING in the background. Come ON. INCREDIBLE. Okay okay and the other stand out songs are the singles Her and Plan B. Her is just such a Meg anthem and it’s fun and powerful and hot. I fucking love it. And Plan B is such a good song and really channels 90s rap and ofc the lyrics are so great. Everything she says is iconic. Also at the end of the album is a freestyle and the ft rapper name-drops my hero academia aahahahahaha.

IDK if I ever talked about Halsey LP4 iichliwp?!? BUT I HAD A MOMENT WITH IT THIS YEAR ILL TELL YA. Holy SHIT. It’s fucking amazing. Spectacular. So infectious and thought provoking. No one is doing it like them. And the accompanying film for the album? It’s incredible!!! Like truly a masterpiece and it captures the album themes so well and so artfully. The album cover itself is immaculate in imagery. I just love this moment for her and it makes me excited to see what they’ll do next. But in the meantime I’m here enjoying the FUCK out of this album!!

Two weeks ago, Tove Styrke started releasing covers from the Swedish reality show she's on Så mycket bättre (the 2 released so far are AMAZING!!!). Last week, YUNGBLUD releases his album weird! (King shit). K.flay just released 3 covers in an EP titled "Don't judge a song by its cover" yesterday. And today...TODAY, Taylor Swift drops her SECOND secret album of the year. MF QUEEN SHIT!!

He is the type of person who spends a lot of time and effort on getting to know their s/o in a relationship, so realizing that he had always missed this vital detail about you would leave him confused and a little disappointed at himself. After listening to you for a while, he would clear his throat so that you would notice him. With an unsure look on his face, he would ask, “So, you can sing?”, more like a statement than an actual question. Even if you denied the bare facts, Yongguk would confront you with your hidden talent a few days later until you finally give in and let him listen to a few lines of singing. He would be mesmerized by your voice and the happy grin on his face would resemble that of a child getting their favorite treat. From then on, Yongguk would ask your advice when composing new songs and even suggest to rap and sing together.

Kim Himchan

You were waiting outside the building of TS for Himchan to finish his dance practice when you got bored and mindlessly started to sing a song which had been stuck in your head all afternoon. You did not notice him immediately, partly because he had stopped in his tracks a few meters away and was now staring at you in disbelief. When you finally noticed him, you fell silent, embarrassed, and asked him if anything was wrong. He wouldn’t say anything for a while, but once he had gathered his senses he would make a drama out of the situation. Regretting every single of the many moments he had bragged about his musical talent in front of you, Himchan would demand an answer to why you had never told him about your talent and had kept it a secret. He would not content himself with the explanation that you didn’t think you were particularly good at singing, but drop the topic because he would feel a twinge of jealousy. However, he would quickly get over the tinge of disappointment and be proud of you from the bottom of his heart.

Jung Daehyun

Since your boyfriend was busy preparing for his solo debut, you had sneaked into the building of TS to give him a surprise visit after his intense dance practice. You leaned against the door and peaked inside, taking in the mesmerizing view of Daehyun moving his body to the rhythm of the powerful music. Carried away by the strong beats, you began to sing along quietly. Suddenly, a member of the dance team turned off the music to correct Daehyun’s movements, but you did not realize at first and continued singing, falling silent only moments later when you noticed eleven heads turning your way. You gulped and looked at Daehyun who was staring at your in awe. Seconds later, a huge grin would adorn his face as he rushed over to you and pulled you into a tight hug. “Why did you never tell me that you know how to sing? Come on, let me hear more!” But when you shook your head vigorously, he would not discuss the topic any further and simply continue his dance practice with more energy than before. However, as soon as his practice was over, he would bug you until you would sing for him - and he would love it!

Yoo Youngjae

You were in the kitchen preparing a huge meal because it was a special occasion today: your boyfriend was returning from his tour in Japan and you wanted to make sure he would receive a proper welcome-back-meal. You were happily singing along to a song on the radio and were so absorbed in your cooking that you did not notice how Youngjae entered your shared apartment. Alright, alright, it’s time for the most anticipated blog post of the century (by no one but myself, haha). 

I think I’m finally ready to officially choose my favorite song off of Folklore, but I will preface this by saying it could change. Just like any other song off any other album, your tastes and experiences evolve, which can then shift what you like in that moment. It’s about what resonates with you in this moment of time, which makes a favorite song (in my opinion, at least). 

Well if you didn’t already guess it from the title, it’s “August”. Man o man... you know when you first listen to a song, most of the time, that song needs to grow on you? It’s like, you can tell that it’s a good song and the lyrics are good, but you’re just not vibing with it just yet since it’s so new. Well this did not happen with “August”. The first time I listened to it, I literally got chills, especially from 2:01-2:05. 

How is it that even with every stage of TS’s life, she can still find a way to relate back to so many people who aren’t going through the same experiences as her? Let me explain: right now, everyone knows that TS is madly in love with Joe Alwyn. I mean for fucks sake she created an entire album about it, and I am extremely happy for her. But as we all know, and especially in this day and age, not everyone is madly in love right now -- you can blame quarantine and 2020 hookup culture for that one. But I feel like TS really does recognize this and if she were to release another album about being completely in love, it just wouldn’t resonate with most of her fans. Yeah, we’ll listen to it. Yeah, we’ll still be swifties. Yeah, we’ll still be borderline obsessed with her, but there is just something about relating to a song that makes it so god damn good. 

And boy did I relate to this song. I swear it was like the perfect timing, too. It wasn’t like I went through something like this in the past and this song was just a reminder of that experience. I was literally in the midst of going through this experience when this song came out. I actually bawled my eyes out the first time I heard it because I actually couldn’t believe it. It’s like once again, TS snuck into my journal in the middle of the night, saw the pain in my words, and was like “you know what, I’m going to write a song about this.” It was like “Dear John” 2.0. 

So I want to end this blog post by saying thank you to TS. Thank you for recognizing the fact that not everyone in the world is madly in love right now (but wish to be someday) and for writing, singing about some really raw, very touching experiences. I mean for fucks sake this song is written from the perspective of a girl who just found out the man she was very infatuated with had a girlfriend. Who takes the time to get into that mindset when you’re madly in love??? TS does. Because she knows what her fans want and she will never let them down. 

I am eternally grateful for you, TS.
