Interview of "RAZA KAZIM" with Host Muhammad Ali Raza (Daily Independent News Paper) TODAY, TWO RAZA’S ARE SITTING TOGETHER
Muhammad Ali Raza is a program anchor and journalist of Pakistan who conducted a written interview with the famous philosopher Raza Kazim. I have reached that now it has become very difficult to communicate with him, so I am looking for your written article. I hope knowing about Raza Kazim will be very beneficial and full of knowledge for you.
He invented a musical instrument, the Sagar Veena, of which his daughter Noor Zehra is the only player in Pakistan, and through her is the grandfather of the famous pop-rock band Noori duo, Ali Noor and Ali Hamza, while another daughter, Baela Raza Jamil, is one of Pakistan's leading educators, with major contributions in the field of education reform. He is also the uncle of actress and model Juggan Kazim. Raza’s journey of rejecting ugliness and pursuing human happiness, which got him involved with society, politics and the questions of his time, began in 1942, at the age of 12, when he became a part of the Indian Congress movement. After 1945 he moved away from the Congress movement and got involved with the Muslim League movement working for an independent Pakistan. After doing his LLB in 1953 he began his law practice and from 1959 onwards became Advocate Supreme Court of Pakistan. By 1965 he began to have serious doubts about the validity of the Marxist ideology but he persevered with it till 1970. In between, in 1962, he also designed the world’s first shrimp factory ship which was made by a team of Norwegian naval architects and engineers. After 1970 he began his quest of discovering a post-Marxist theory of social change, yet another attempt to address the issue of human happiness, in the light of the explosive progress in science and technology and developments in Brain Sciences, Astrophysics & Particle Physics. In 1995, he set up ‘Sanjan Nagar Institute of Philosophy and Arts’ (SIPA), as a laboratory for developing and testing this emerging theory,
which he calls ‘Evolutionary Mentology’, and has been funding it from his Law practice ever since. In the same year he also started a parallel organization called Sanjan Nagar Public Education Trust (SNPET) which runs a free school for girls in a working class area of Lahore. He currently devotes his time to the Sanjan Nagar Institute of Philosophy & Arts, a non-profit organization consisting of a team of fifty (now growing) full-time members working in the fields of Philosophy, Music and Photography. The Institute is currently based in Lahore. It is an honor for me to meet Raza Kazim. I am sitting with a person who is not only a philosopher but also a person with a very beautiful heart. He dedicated his life to serve country. This is my introductory meeting. I wanted to record Raza's interview but life did not cooperate. His age is around 95 years now I talked to Raza a lot while he couldn't even speak, he talked like children but as a journalist I will say this about Raza that "Pakistan has been made big by such people and it is because of him. In the love of the soil of the country, they turn themselves into soil, we should not only value such personalities, but it is also our duty to protect them.” May God bless Raza Kazmi with thousands of blessings and shower his mercy on him always. https://sanjannagar.wordpress.com/raza-kazim/

tempted to get sappy, serghei can and will brag about how sharp his kitten is. how witty and charming and irresistible he can be with his sweet drawl and pretty lips. those big, shiny eyes hold observation after observation, hoarded like jewels until noori can wield them deftly. his kitten is efficient. merciless. violent, like his husband, but in a much different way: the slow, silent way. serghei adores him.
"that ass is fuckin' fat," the dhampir revels. "thick as hell. if i ever die, i wanna die buried to the hilt in that sweet ass." serghei is practically drooling at the thought of it. god bless all those extra holiday calories...

Phileas Fogg and Touch Aversion
I'm going to try to resurrect a post I had written on twitter a while ago when I still had an account there (and when it was still called twitter). It's long, so bear with me, and do keep in mind that these are just my hc's and there's always room for interpretation.
***
So one thing that becomes clear about Phileas from the start is how much he tries to avoid physical touch. Even with those he knows well, like Grayson. Look at how stiff he is here, how he avoids eye contact, how he leans back a tiniest bit.
Tumblr media
This physical discomfort is even more obvious with strangers, of course. Especially with strangers who threatened and intimidated him only hours earlier. Even when the contact is no longer a threatening one (you all remember senor Moretti, yes?)
Tumblr media
Remember the aborted hugs? The man is so excited to see Passepartout alive that he forgets himself for a moment....
Tumblr media
...only to remember at the last minute and have the hug become nothing more than an awkward (safe?) handshake
Tumblr media
or, in Abigail's case, a near-pat on the arms
Tumblr media
But it's something deeper than just simple intimacy avoidance. There seems to be a discomfort, a fear almost of physical closeness with ADULTS. I'm going to veer onto a slight tangent here that ties into my hc about Fogg's childhood and take a look at this scene in the desert:
Tumblr media
Remember how incredulous Passepartout was when Fogg asked him to move because he, ostensibly, couldn't pee otherwise? "I thought you went to boarding school" he said, the implication being "why are you so afraid of having someone stand next to you when you pee?"
Tumblr media
The whole situation is funny to Passepartout (and meant to be so to us as well), but Fogg doesn't appear to be amused in the slightest. He pleads, actually pleads with Passepartout to move. And look at how uncomfortable he is. How he tries to block out Passepartout's presence.
And look at this moment here. This is where Passepartout whips out his joystick &starts watering the sand. Look at that cringe, that nervous swallow. I'm not saying this man was definitely traumatized in boarding school, but... he was definitely traumatized at boarding school
Tumblr media
This is not to say that he can't handle physical contact at all. He can and does when the situation demands it. When it's a matter of life or death, for instance.
Tumblr media
But notice the reluctance, the uncertainty even here.
Tumblr media
The only time he DOESN'T hesitate? When someone else needs it, needs HIM.
Tumblr media
When it's him alone however? Even when the touch isn't remotely threatening?
Tumblr media
He freaks out and tries to run.
Tumblr media
And when running is not an option? Freezes like a deer in the headlights.
This moment here shocked him so completely that he drew a blank on all thought, and it wasn't until the lieutenant had uttered the word "coward" - the word that keeps driving him forward - that he snapped out of it
Tumblr media
It's different, of course, when it's Estella.
Tumblr media
He doesn't shy away from her touch. Welcomes it instead.
Tumblr media
Initiates the hug and follows through
Tumblr media
Estella is safe. Estella cares about him. Estella would never hurt him. But that kind of safety, that kind of certainty - it doesn't exist where other adults are concerned. Not yet. So he errs on the side of caution and stays back when everyone around him is hugging and celebrating
Tumblr media
Doesn't respond to enthusiastic shoulder pats and friendly arm squeezes when he makes his triumphant return home. He looks uncomfortable. Lost. Wary.
Tumblr media
Compare that to Abigail's reaction in the same scene
Tumblr media
But there are also others whom Phileas is comfortable with, in addition to Estella. Those whom he doesn't view as a threat: kids.
Look here at Alberto plopping to sit down right next to him. Phileas doesn't even flinch. Accepts his presence easily with no discomfort shown
Tumblr media
Smiles at Alberto just as easily, too.
Tumblr media
Look at Noori here. She grabs him by the hand, drags him behind her. He doesn't mind one bit.
Tumblr media
Look at Fogg's reaction when that girl runs out to hug him. He is surprised but not frightened. He goes soft and maybe even a little happy. He hugs her back. He thanks her.
Tumblr media
Now look at the difference when Abigail goes to do the same. He stiffens immediately. Pulls back. His whole posture screams "get away".
Tumblr media
It doesn't mean he doesn't WANT the physical touch. He does. Longs for it, in fact.
Tumblr media
But he believes he lost his chance for this closeness, he mourns the loss of it, and he doesn't think it's for him anymore. He's also likely afraid to test if what he believes is true.
Tumblr media
BUT... But... There's a silver lining to all this. Because there IS character growth for him in more ways than one, and he DOES become braver and stronger in more ways than one. And in the end he DOES dare to reach out and he DOES find the courage to NOT pull away.
Tumblr media
If you've gotten this far, thank you for reading :) And please come check out my ATWI80D fics where all of this is explored in greater (and angstier) detail. ;)

The way I thought that this was 'oh heres things to remember as an author and take care of yourself to avoid these pains' for a good few moments (I'm way too tired asjdkf)
I can agree and maybe add some things as someone who's eating habits are a tossup for pain + used to choke on things all the time at random + has a thing for not telling others I'm pain + gets extreme stomach pain from pizza, which we used to eat all the time and I tend to write things off and not process that I should do something about it.... so I used to just keep eating the pizza when we got it and dealing with the results.
Er, I eventually want to give the 'hyperspecific' things to my character's but until then 'ta da'!
Will hum random songs to distract from pain. (These songs may or may not be the American national anthem or ode to joy or jingle bells).
Will make the most random noises and speak in gibberish
thoughts shall be consumed by pain pain pain. But perhaps in silly ways if they are used to it/process things weird. Might think about how it consumes their existence now but it will be so nice when it goes away
Might gag and choke, sing a bit or think about a show they like, gag some more. Pain. But eh, it will pass soon. Nothing to worry about. Definetly no something to worry others about. Be as quiet as possible. They'll try to fix it when it doesn't need that much attention when it isn't actually that bad. (I say as I just choked on TOFU. TOFU IS SOFT HOW DOES THAT EVEN HAPPEN.)
'Drink some water!' they say. Hmmm no. Actually it's better (lies) to let it hurt reallly bad for a couple of seconds as it sorts itself out
even though such events happen every other day at this point, sometimes the scared-ness of 'how do I fix this, what if it's bad' comes in
OH and if around other people, then it's always a pain to be a burden or a nuicense (at least for me). I used to have these ways of masking that I was choking on something. I would silently excuse myself and figured out a way to silently gag (wowowowo... also it's via condensing your tongue to the back of your throat and holding your breath and 'shoving it upwards?'. I tried not to cough really loud because my family would always find out if I coughed really loud.)
Feels bad when fussed over, jokes about it, laughs it off, wants other people to laugh it off too because it's honestly not a huge deal. Kinda funny now. Adds some 'spice to life' as they say.
OH and trying to subtly deal with it yourself for things like stomach pain. 'How does one ask for medicine without rousing suspicion?' sort of thing. Sitting on the floor and trying to massage the pain away. Breathing in little pained gasps as to not make too much noise.
And if I do mention things like 'there's acid in my throat because of these crackers that I keep eating IDK', then again, in passing and not accepting help and wanting to make it a joke
... if you know what triggers things they can be used as a form of self-harm. Not fun.
Low level/continuous pain tips for writing
Want to avoid the action movie effect and make your character's injuries have realistic lasting impacts? Have a sick character you're using as hurt/comfort fodder? Everyone has tips for how to write Dramatic Intense Agony, but the smaller human details of lasting or low-level discomfort are rarely written in. Here are a few pain mannerisms I like to use as reference:
General
Continuously gritted teeth (may cause headaches or additional jaw pain over time)
Irritability, increased sensitivity to lights, sounds, etc
Repetitive movements (fidgeting, unable to sit still, slight rocking or other habitual movement to self-soothe)
Soft groaning or whimpering, when pain increases or when others aren't around
Heavier breathing, panting, may be deeper or shallower than normal
Moving less quickly, resistant to unnecessary movement
Itching in the case of healing wounds
Subconsciously hunching around the pain (eg. slumped shoulders or bad posture for gut pain)
Using a hand to steady themself when walking past walls, counters, etc (also applies to illness)
Narration-wise: may not notice the pain was there until it's gone because they got so used to it, or may not realize how bad it was until it gets better
May stop mentioning it outright to other people unless they specifically ask or the pain increases
Limb pain
Subtly leaning on surfaces whenever possible to take weight off foot/leg pain
Rubbing sore spots while thinking or resting
Wincing and switching to using other limb frequently (new/forgettable pain) or developed habit of using non dominant limb for tasks (constant/long term pain)
Propping leg up when sitting to reduce inflammation
Holding arm closer to body/moving it less
Moving differently to avoid bending joints (eg. bending at the waist instead of the knees to pick something up)
Nausea/fever/non-pain discomfort
Many of the same things as above (groaning, leaning, differences in movement)
May avoid sudden movements or turning head for nausea
Urge to press up against cold surfaces for fever
Glazed eyes, fixed stare, may take longer to process words or get their attention
Shivering, shaking, loss of fine motor control
If you have any more details that you personally use to bring characters to life in these situations, I'd love to hear them! I'm always looking for ways to make my guys suffer more write people with more realism :)

Some tidbits about my Lamb!! I've been calling them Noori
Subject to change bc I'm VERY new to this fandom sjxbnxkcc
Transcript of my bullet points bc I've been told my handwriting is illegible lmao:
Beginning - Post Kallamar Fight
- Fueled by rage + spite
- Would NEVER direct their rage at their flock
-- Heretics are another story however
- Always looks vaguely pissed off
- Can put up a good front of 'peace' and 'perfection' to the flock tho
- (not all of them fall for it tho)
- First follower dissented
- The guilt led them to pay more attention + take better care of their flock
- Fleece was cut choppily by heretics for easy access to their neck
Silk Cradle Crusade - Nari Fight
- Forced to kill one of their followers by Shamura
- ENRAGED
- Beginning to realise that killing the bishops won't automatically make everything ok (i.e. they'll still be the last sheep)
- Being angry for centuries is taking its toll
- Their 'perfect leader' front is now IRON CLAD
- Only their disciples can tell something's wrong, and even they have no idea how to help
- Tired.
- Absolute MANIAC on crusades
- Keeps (most of) their fleece short
- One horn ring per marriage
- Most of their weddings have been to keep faith up in their flock
-- Their partners do get to see a more vulnerable side of them though
Stopped helping out w/ chores
- Focussed ONLY on crusades
- Can't keep this up forever (lmao bonus bullet point)
First Few Centuries of Godhood
- Tired of being angry
- Started helping out round the commune again
- Horns finally grew in!! (Late bloomer (+ stress didn't help lmao))
- Calmed down A LOT
- Their 'persona' is a lot more genuine nowadays
- There always used to be something behind their eyes (something that would light prey animals' instincts up like a BONFIRE)
-- Nowadays the have an effortlessly comforting aura about them
- Happy, despite everything
- Trying out this whole 'forgiveness' thing
- Nari does NOT make it easy
- Can't quite bring themselves to rescue the bishops yet
- ONE tantruming former god is plenty tyvm

Paladin VS Cleric
To clear up any confusion, I'm not comparing the two DnD classes, but rather discussing them in relation to Minthara. I want to explore why she is a paladin rather than a cleric (@trappedinafantasy37 made a brilliant post on that!) and the nature of her Oath.
Also, thank you all for 101 followers. I'm overjoyed to see people are enjoying my posts, and I adore the fun comments, the questions, the helpful advice, all of it. Lolth kyorl dos!
Why is Minthara a paladin, not a cleric?
Of course, there are two practical reasons for this. One, Minthara does not worship a god after Lolth and the Absolute. On the DnD wiki, the Godless Cleric subclass states, "As a Godless Cleric, your power was not bestowed upon you by a deity, but rather you siphon it from a divine source. [...] Regardless, you bypass the affinity of a deity yet tap into divine power."
Furthermore, the Dungeon Master's Guide says, "In rules terms, clerics choose domains, not deities, so your world can associate domains with deities in any way you choose." So would Minthara, as a cleric, have to worship a god? Not necessarily, but there is not a Godless subclass in BG3.
And two, Shadowheart is a cleric. Since you meet her first and by Act 2 many players are accustomed to her, to avoid the predicament of having not one but two clerics in the party, Minthara would end up sitting around camp in many people's playthroughs if she were a cleric, too.
Lore-wise, it seems as if Minthara should be a cleric. She canonically attended Arach-Tinilith, as she mentions her Ceremony of Graduation as well as having seen "the black academies of Tier-Breche." Only males could Melee-Magthere and Sorcere; exceptions such as Noori Baenre did exist, but Minthara's comments about her religion, her profession, and her worldviews are- in my opinion- solid proof that her school was Arach-Tinilith.
A priestess or cleric is the default profession for all noble female drow, particularly a Baenre, as many Baenre females go on to become High Priestesses.
My theory is that she was a cleric originally and became a paladin later on in her life. She was trained by her House as "a soldier in Lolth's service", not to mention she led the expedition to Moonrise Towers; she spent time raiding and pillaging the surface; she performed interrogations; she punished "heretics" and anyone who defied Lolth. Minthara, in Menzoberranzan, was powerful, not just due to her heritage but- I believe- due to her unique role. Her mother believed she was "special" since birth, and considering Minthara's draa velve fighting style, she likely had some considerable combat skills since youth; the paladin class combines the religious fervor of the cleric with the impressive battle prowess of a fighter. It must have seemed like the obvious choice. (It makes even more sense if her mother is Zel'Tharra Baenre.)
I also think she, quite literally, began as a cleric, as her Magic: The Gathering card portrays her as one, and when you first meet her, she fights with maces- the classic clerical weapons.
Tumblr media
What is the nature of Minthara's oath, and why isn't it broken?
"I took up my oath long ago, when I swore bloody vengeance against any who defied Lolth. Now, I myself have sinned against the Spider Queen." This statement from Minthara reinforces my theory that she became a cleric/priestess of Lolth and took up her Oath soon after.
As we all know, Minthara's oath is the Oath of Vengeance.
Minthara's focus, and the point of her Oath, is to punish her enemies. The identity of her enemies has changed with her- first, Lolth's enemies, when she was loyal to the Spider Queen; now, the Absolute, particularly Orin the Red and Ketheric Thorm, for obvious reasons.
Now, let's discuss how her Oath remains unbroken, as I have seen many people questioning that. The tenets, according to the Player's Handbook, are as follows:
"Fight the Greater Evil. Faced with a choice of fighting my sworn foes or combating a lesser evil, I choose the greater evil.
No Mercy for the Wicked. Ordinary foes might win my mercy, but my sworn enemies do not.
By Any Means Necessary. My qualms can't get in the way of exterminating my foes.
Restitution. If my foes wreak ruin on the world, it is because I failed to stop them. I must help those harmed by their misdeeds."
It is possible to break Minthara's oath in the game, by doing something that will break the PC's. But if you are not playing as her, she won't do those things of her own accord.
Minthara advises you to do things that may break an Oath of Vengeance- such as accepting Gortash's proposal or letting Astarion become the Vampire Ascendant. But does she do those things herself? No.
Take a closer look at those tenets- Minthara has not broken any of them, not exactly.
When she worshipped Lolth: She fought what she believed to be the greater evil, namely heretics. She showed no mercy to her sworn enemies (Lolth's enemies) and did not let her qualms interfere. She did not allow such dangerous beliefs to 'harm' her people or her goddess.
And now, after the Absolute: She fights the Absolute- the greater evil than just about anything else. She does not show mercy to her enemies; although she does feel "sympathy" for Ketheric Thorm, she counteracts that by wishing pain upon him soon after and ultimately celebrating his death. No matter how much she may dislike a companion or the PC, or disapprove of the PC's actions, she continues on. (This is significant, as people sometimes wonder why she tolerates unnecessary actions of kindness or what she interprets as foolish choices. She has to.) And Minthara does follow the tenet of Restitution by helping the party in their quest.
I believe everything she did under the Absolute's control is irrelevant to her oath, as she couldn't help her actions, and genuinely believed she was acting justly in her god's name.
Minthara herself is unsure whether her oath will hold after the cult is defeated when you ask her about it, but she doesn't mention it having broken at the epilogue party.
If Minthara's Oath is broken, she says, "My Oath is broken. I still hold to the tenets of vengeance, but I am no longer bound by any word of vow." She seems happier when it is broken.
So, what did she do in her society?
As I said, Minthara held considerable power in Menzoberranzan. Raiding and pillaging the surface, performing interrogations, functioning as a "soldier" in Lolth's service. She also states "I have hosted gatherings of House Matrons and High Priestesses who wanted nothing more than to murder each other before the night was done. I have negotiated the handover of hostages and smiled politely while sensing a dagger at my back," so she clearly also has some experience with diplomacy.
Aside from such things, she spent time reading "history books", and Emma Gregory suggests that she was something of a loner. Perhaps she felt isolated, despite Lolth's favor and the power at her fingertips.
One final note- Elaine Cunningham's "Daughter of the Drow" mentions how Liriel feels "affection" for Lolth, in a way, when sourcing her magic from the goddess. With the strength of Minthara's beliefs and her oath, it's plausible to suggest Minthara felt similarly, perhaps more so- and that is part of why she was so crushed when her goddess abandoned her to her fate in the Moonrise Towers prison.

What are some of your favorite teas and more modern candies and sweets? There's a little Russian market nearby my apartment and they've got a nice mix of things but unfortunately I can't read Cryllic and don't really know what to look for.
For teas, my faves (besides plain green tea) are Greenfield's Spring Melody, Princess Noori's blackcurrant tea and maybe Ahmad's Mango Magic.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
For sweets, some my favourites are sunflower seed khalva, Korovka iz Korenovki's baked milk wafers, Rot Front's batonchiki, zefir (esp. Vkusvill's blackcurrant), Udarnitsa's lemon slices (jelly) and sugar corn puffs.

I urge you to be brave and try something from the Russian shop! :D And then tell us about it.

KLDJFKLDSFJKLDSFJ I DO LOVE THIS THIS IS THE MOST WONDEROUS THING I"VE EVER SEEN EVER KADJFKLDSFJ
They look like whimsical worlds, with little bugyboos that go about their day to day lives whilst plooms of white replace the clouds overhead.
OH and perhaps it was a whole thing when the dandelions opened. The society of little bugs celebrated with moss bouquets and parades across the stick.
the one with the bee(?) perched upon the branch, that bee could be the dandelion watcher, and they watch and wait, a silent sentential over the flowers, in a patient stupor for the day they bloom.
And within the log's crevasses, little buggies nestled themselves. 'This is the best spot on the log' they proclaimed, 'when the dandelion opens, we'll see it's white fluff every day'
Oooh and @osbob-the-existent and @celestialsun123 and @mylee-sketches kladfjalksdjfkasdfjdsa IT"S SOOOOOOOO WHIMSICAL DKJFDSKF
I saw someone on tiktok make these eternal dandelions where you take a small wire and run it through the hole in the stem of a dandelion that’s just about to seed/puff and attach them to a stick or something as your base and then cover them to protect the puff and you have a forever dandelion.
I decorated them with preserved insects I found a long with dry dead stuff from my yard
So I made a few of my own for fun
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I am just now waiting for them to completely open

Reminds me of the fun little stuff I would do as a kid

Hihi lc! Love this blog's new look! One order of caramel chai and pumpkin bread for Omi Fushimi. Take all the time you need. Happy writing!
Hihi Noori!!! Thanks sm wahwah<333 I love writing for Omi, I think he's the most requested character here atp sldfkjsl but like. I don't blame anybody who requests him bc well. (has a tendency to project what I want in a man onto him) ANYWAY. Please enjoy!!
Request rules | Cafe menu | Autumn menu
Caramel Chai: How do they get warm with their s/o? A hot drink? A blanket? Maybe something wild?
📷Look at me in the eyes and tell me this guy doesn’t make the BEST hot chocolate known to man.
📷Like you’ll be coming back home from a long day, exhausted and sluggish, and Omi’s already there to greet you with two steaming cups of hot chocolate, with whipped cream and marshmallows and everything.
📷You step through the door to your shared apartment, your body heavy, your fingers numb, your brain mashed to a pulp, only to perk up when smell something sweet wafting through the space. It’s then that Omi turns to you, a warm smile on his face.
📷“Oh, you’re home. I figured your walk home would be chilly today, so I made you some cocoa. Do you wanna have it with me?”
📷Wait, where did your heart go? And why is there a puddle on the floor????
📷Anyway, you quickly tackle him in a grateful embrace, nearly toppling him over as he chuckles lightly.
📷“You’re welcome, sweetheart. Should we take this to the couch? We can get under the blanket and watch a movie or something. Does that sound good?”
📷You nod enthusiastically, ready for your well-deserved break. He chuckles, scooping you up to take you to the couch.
📷Needless to say, that hot chocolate was some of the best you’ve ever had, and it might’ve had something to do with the man who made it.
📷(Also you may or may not fall asleep on the couch in his arms. And he may or may not hold you close the whole time. Maybe 👀)
Pumpkin Bread: They’re trying to learn how to knit something cozy! What is it? How does it go?
📷Noori. I see you. This is on purpose.
📷Omi’s very nimble, and def manages to come up with something cozy for you easily!
📷That said, he’s seen you wear a lot of warm clothes now that the weather’s been changing, but you never seem to wear scarves. He’s worried about your neck getting cold! That’s the most important part of your body to keep warm!
📷So he gets to work on making you a scarf!
📷He’s still a bit new to knitting, but he manages to pick out some yarn in a color you like and get to work. It’s a little bit janky in some places, but with a lot of determination(and some help from Yuki), it turns out to be pretty high-quality!
📷And, of course, he manages to surprise you with it hehe<3
📷“Hey, I made you something. Mind closing your eyes for me? Good job. And… open. Do you like it?”
📷Bro.🥺 He loves you sm.

I feel like Neelam's role and Kabir's role in Dil Dhadakne Do are the perfectly aced ones on screen. Shefali Shah said that the writers felt Neelam was the weakest written role while Shefali herself felt it was the strongest and realest they could ever get to a character on paper.
First, let's talk about Neelam: she was 18 when she married and has known very little of a life outside of this so called arrangement called marriage. She can handle herself in social parties, throw a smile, wrap a snide remark in a saccharine tone as she gets her hands on the entrée or a glass of sparkling wine. She has learnt to meander in her words, let "her" money be a shield she wears as if it guised her unhappiness. She never had real friends. She doesn't mind because she isn't a real friend either. Kamal has this huge business in his name and it is only in his name after all. Because even if she co-owned many shares, he never could say out loud that all of this is because of her. No it is because of him. And then it all goes to the son. And then the navasa. Neelam knows how to be a mother in her own way, which isn't enough for her daughter. There has been an umbrella from under which Neelam has been watching her world fall apart around her and she cannot help but stuff herself with anything she thinks can mend her, protect her. Cake, glasses, champagne, prada, gucci, snarking at people, ordering people, being fake nice to horrible people when she makes it obvious she's being fake nice.
She is backward in her thoughts because they stem from her own helplessness. Ayesha can't possibly leave Manav because the society won't look kindly upon divorced women. Neelam has thought about it before hasn't she? She has thought about it till the point where her husband cheating on her doesn't even become about his infidelity, it becomes about her image in front of her social circle. If there is anything Neelam abhors, it is being looked down upon for something she hasn't done.
( exhibit: Kamal says he'll ask his brother to speak with Ayesha about the divorce problem and Neelam's first reaction is caustic on the lines of how everyone will know what a bad mother she is and how incapable she is at handling the situation. Nothing whatsoever about how it might pain Ayesha that it isn't her parents talking about it. Neelam and Kamal have long ago sped past familial considerations )

Now, Kabir. He's childish, on the face of it. He is the youngest one in a successful family. He is quirky. But he is also unsure. He has never been given the chance to even think freely about something he desires. He's shit at business and he didn't want to be good at it in the first place. He sees his sister do amazing in her business with her aptitude but it kills him that his parents can't see that/ignore that. Because it is a reminder that he is "praised" for a business sense he doesn't have only because he is the son and is expected to lead AyKa one day.
He can only sometimes speak aptly. He's good with jokes but he is not the one leading a polite conversation in an official meeting. He can lead a personal conversation where he can be expected to judge lesser and speak without a goal. ( "I'll pay you" like... honey you need to work on it, but we'll get there ha shona? ) He's kind and contrary to his peppy attitude, he's actually very good at hiding stuff because he has been a wallflower his whole life despite being thrust into the centre of every room he has entered. He's not an aggressive personality at heart, actually he's quite vulnerable and empathetic. But he is fiercely loyal. He takes all this anger and he turns it into care and attention and dad jokes he can crack.
He likes to know somebody, not to have knowledge on them he can use later (like his parents) but to gauge whether he will be hurt or whether this person is someone with a heart. He saw a heart in Noori and a longing in Rana, he became friends with them. You can see the difference in his gaze when he flirts with Manav's cousin and when he interacts with Fearless Farah. Kabir has got such a soft side that you can't help but appreciate him. Yes he doesn't feel stuck but he also doesn't hurt people with words until he can't help but, or is forced to. More than loving her, Kabir admires Farah.
*mic drop* *no literally the mic dropped out of my hands because I spoke so long my hand started sweating*
