Just looking at his face, it's so obvious he's a liar. Then he proceeds to "attack" Kagome, which looks more like attacking the area next to her on an effort to scare her into dropping the jewel. Her trust in him from the onset is very important... Not even Kikyo trusted him to that extent.

Then he continues to lie while looking very obviously smitten. He continues to lie about being after the jewel, even though he saves Kagome when it would have made things easier for him if he hadn't...

And he's already getting all worked up over making her cry.

I know this is very basic but idk... Going back and reading the times before he knew how to be honest with himself or others is giving me feelings.

He tried very hard to hate Kikyo, and then Kagome, but his actions give him away. He has a good heart. It is made for love, not hate.

It's been a hot minute since I've drawn InuKag!!

Here are three Inuyashas that I drew mainly for lineart and posing practice. I colored them in the early manga's pink pallet. I think a pink Inu makes him look somewhat ghostly.

Romantic things Inuyasha has said to Kikyou: You were the first woman I loved. Romantic things Inuyasha has said to Kagome: I met Kagome and regained my lost heart. Kagome is my home. I want you by my side, Kagome. There's no replacement for you. Trust me a little more (to be loyal to you). Your heart is strong and beautiful. Kagome is the reason I can smile, cry for others, and have friends. We were born for each other.

I think the truly tragic thing is that “Kagome kidnapped by the Band of Seven” is a ship trope for her to fall in love with Bankotsu and vice versa or something, when it should be about all the potential humour and hijinks from that scenario.

Kagome is absolutely no damsel in distress, and she’s very opinionated. When kidnapped by Hiten and Manten, she tricks them into taking her to Inuyasha— and pushes Manten off of his own cloud because he’s trying to team up on Inuyasha, even at risk of herself.

She slaps Koga in the face and protects Shippo when they’re captured by the wolves— in the words of Inuyasha, “She’s probably got them cleaning their cave.”

So there is so, SO much potential comedy there.

Particularly, I think it’d be extremely funny if Kagome picked up on some of the dynamics in-group and started trying to matchmake Bankotsu and Jakotsu.

It’d also be pretty funny if she picked up on Renkotsu’s obvious scheming. And maybe blackmail him about it.

Inuyasha comes to rescue her and she’s just sitting and having tea with Jakotsu or something. Braiding flowers or something and talking about their love lives.

this genuinely wrecked me, okay. like. the layers of this. just think of how many drawings this kid has done each year, hanging them by the bone-eater's well, wondering if maybe one day, her aunt would see them all. think about how many bedtime stories this kid has heard from her dad about his cool older brother inuyasha (her cool uncle!!) she probably has all their adventures memorized by heart now.
