Celebrating Knowledge and Unity: Vasant Panchami at Sage International School
Vasant Panchami, also known as Saraswati Puja, is one of the most beloved festivals in the Indian calendar, heralding the arrival of spring and honoring the goddess Saraswati, who embodies knowledge, music, and art. As the winter chill gives way to the vibrant colors of spring, this celebration holds a special significance for students and educators alike. The day is characterized by the omnipresence of the color yellow, symbolizing the blossoming of mustard flowers and the warmth of the sun.

DAY 5843
Jalsa, Mumbai Feb 16/17, 2024 Fri/Sat 4:03 am
Many send greetings and wishes for Basant Panchami - the day Abhishek was born, was that auspicious day - and all obviously desire a response ..
But the volume of work is large and time consuming, hence an acknowledgement here on the Ef platformic Home ..
The day begins in the hours of laziness .. and matures to some discussions on management .. not having any presence or education in this rather complicated sphere .. it never has, or never shall be, understood by the rest ..
But .. the argument is that just when you become a recognised face, an entire Universe is created around it ..
For, it is assumed that the individual has been gifted with solutions and answers to all that needs them .. at birth ..
Wrong !!
No .. we are not proficient for this job or work .. dumb as hell and immature in its outlook .. we consider the advice given by those in the echelons of management ..
But choosing the right people, and extracting the work protocol from them is another management task ..
So there is reliance on others of trust to find and appoint such to be able to manage affairs, without giving any stress to the creator .. in a sense giving the individual an apparatus that gives the personality, relief from day to day running of his schedule and curriculum and protocol .. and an entire gamut of work now being handled by the TEAM - an oft used word in today's times .. bringing sufficient relief for the professional to have the freedom of thought and mind to conduct what he or she feel about their work .. and to be conducted in a manner that takes care ..
When my own choice of recruiting individuals has been, and is, a most trying experience .. I would be the happiest to find that my management, looks after, all else and gives me peace of mind to concentrate on what is believed to be my forte ..
😒
It is all very well to conceive and ideate what creatively may be of interest to me .. but does it also attract a similar sentiment with the rest .. is what my dilemma is !
In today's world there is no dearth of set ups, organisations in consultancy , that take charge of the situation and brings the joy and independence, from what seems to me to be far too complicated ..
I also feel that, many offer services in their grace towards me .. and I never feel comfortable to be seeking obligation from any other, even when the gravest condition is blown upon , coerces you to share the issue with those that are in proficiency related positions ..
Yes, there are dime a dozen organisations that readily take up this job and bring it to fruition .. but how to demonstrate to them what is it that gives comfort .. for, there is no time for trial and error .. now ..
And ever the fear , whether I am losing something or not, in having gone about it in a systematic professional manner ..
Many give opinion, that if the boat sails safe and comfortably in the oceans of the existent Universe .. why rock the boat at all ..
And the dilemma again .. in finding out that what was before, was the best methodology, than what is being desired now ..
Ahh .. life is so complicated .. !!
And then the learnings from Babuji and the return to his thoughts and wisdom .. make way and suddenly everything falls into place ..
For I am certain whenever any of us has faced an issue, the first thought that comes to mind is .
"what would Babuji and Ma have done in such decision making situations .."
And suddenly everything falls into place ..
The human psychology ever thrashes any fixed or formed ideas, and thoughts on issue ..
The most oft repeated being ..
" when I have 1x .. how has the other got 3x ..
And this becomes the base of diffident thinking, which propels one to compete and fight to beat .. and win ..
BUT .. just as you have succeeded in this trail and laughing your way to the bank , nature throws another sidewinder gauntlet moment , challenging all that you may have felt comfortable with ..
Hence either you get out of bed and determine the mind and body to fight .. or merely accept the condition, lie back quilted , and reminisce the days gone by ..
Remember .. enough is never enough ..
Love and more ..

Hiii Viva~
Hope, you'll take your time to read this. It's not a request of course. I was simply curious about something. To be honest, I've read all your fics and my goodness, they are mind blowing and always make overwhelm with emotions. Specially how you portray Al-Haitham. Every fic of his feels like a fic and a character study all at once.
You know, in your recent fic, I just noticed that you said Alhaitham is a man logic and rationality, which is true. But isn't he from the Haravatat Darshan or a department that has something to do with studying and deciphering various scripts? Like isn't he a linguist? I thought he was a man associated with the humanities stream or something like that if we put it into modern terms. So, the question here is—why portray him as a man of science? Sure, he's a genius and an intellectual person but can a person really be that apt at two different disciplines? For example, I'm a political Science Honours student and honestly....I hate subjects that has anything to do with maths or science in general. 🥲 Does that make sense?
I'm not saying, you can't portray him like that or anything but rather the intent of doing so. And honestly, I think, you yourself are a highly intelligent individual. The way you put tid bits of practical information into the plot of fics says a lot about you, the author as well. I admire that quality and probably would like to know how you do it so effortlessly?
I really hope that I did not come off as criticizing or a dumb person in general. I was just curious and wanted to know. Hope, you'll read this.
Btw, Happy Basant Panchami from India, Viva. Today, we worship the goddess of knowledge, wisdom and arts here. Fun fact, it's actually kinda officially forbidden to study today, you know.
Hope, I didn't rant much....sorry, in advance. 🥲🌹
Arunima~
Hello! this is an interesting ask 🤔
From my understanding, Haravatat focuses on semiotics, which also includes linguistics. Linguistics is a field of science, the scientific study of languages. Because empirical research is involved along with empirical evidence.
Perhaps you were thinking about literature, which is of the humanities and academia. Although of course, there are possible overlaps between linguistics and literature.
Al Haitham liked to read abstruse academic journals from a young age, so I'd like to think tidbits of information from those journals would naturally bury themselves in his thoughts.
His thoughts and ponderings resemble those who have been part of the sciences. Disagree, question, challenge.
Thus, why he's a nerd (affectionate).
But of course, this is all from my perspective, which is different from yours, which is different from the next person.
It's what makes character writing interesting because everyone will view everyone differently.
Thank you for your ask and Happy (belated?) Basant Panchami!
Your ask brought up an interesting thought, why can't people be apt at both humanities and science?
All throughout history humanities and science have helped the other progress. They are not opposites nor should they be. They progress thought, which in turn helps us better understand knowledge and the world around us.
Disagree, question, and challenge the paradigm is how the humanities and science have gotten where they are today, and how they will get to tomorrow.
I'm not an intelligent person, I'm just a curious person. I like reading a wide variety of things from fiction to academic essays, even mathematical theories in textbooks and notes from friends in premed. Because I'm curious about them.
Then I like applying them to what I create because I love creating. Little factoids here and there because I think it's interesting, learning about how things work so I can better draw the things I like.
No one has to be a genius or a prodigy to be apt at both, just be open-minded and willing to look at both. There is also nothing wrong about only liking one or the other.
Let's just not pit them against each other because then it'll just be destructive.
Maybe many have forgotten the symbiotic relationship between humanities and sciences.

Usha Lakshmi Gargi Ratri
Saraswati
I wonder why don't I ever concentrate on the pooja whenever I am in a group. I love to sit in front of my deities alone in a room in dark and let my thoughts and words wander. I know they they hear my inner thoughts as well as the words that project out of my mouth. It feels as if I am home with them only when I am the only one in a room.
It's the same even today. Today it is Basant Panchami. Dadi, my brother and I are doing pooja day. Dad is in another city and mummy has periods so she did not join for the aarti today. She had specifically asked me to keep a few pens and my RD Sharma Maths book near Saraswati maa's moorti.
Funny, how I call Devi Lakshmi as my sakhi and Devi Saraswati as Maa. As a child of five years, I used to watch this animated movie called Omkara on TV. Shivji and Parvati Devi had taken abode in the holy city of Kashi with Ganesha, Karthikeya, Lakshmi and Saraswati as their children. My mother would always tell me to be like Saraswati -- affectionate, kind, wise and simple.
Years flew by, and for a while, my connection with the deities dwindled even with my dearest god, Krishna. But, don't they say that the goddess of Knowledge sits on Vishnu's tongue. Won't the same goddess guide the one who has strayed away from its path?
I stare at the small moorti of the goddess. It took me back to my examination days. I always carried an examination board that had a photo of Devi Saraswati. She always looked so elegant and benevolent. I usually performed well in subjects like English, Hindi, Social Studies and Biology with her photo on my exam board, so I considered her as my lucky charm during exam days.
The Saraswati moorti looks beautiful. I stare at the veena in her hands and the large pink lotus on which she sits. For the first time, I get a tingly feeling running down on my spine -- the feeling that arises each time I am about to meet a goddess in person. Dadi is probably chanting Saraswati chalisa and my brother as usual is randomly mouthing the words and staring at the sweets.
Warmth engulfs my body, and I hear rain fall outside the balcony. My eyes close on their own accord, and for the first time I am given a divine vision.
The goddess is seated near a river bed that is brimming with fresh brightly coloured green grasses, and a few wild flowers. The river looks clean, completely transparent. It sparkles a little under the sun. Her fingers skillfully run on the strings of the Veena, producing the most beautiful tune I have ever heard in my life. Her eyes are closed, but I know she sees me. She knows that I am watching her.
After what feels like an eternity, she stops playing her instrument and opens her eyes. She smiles and gently calls her swan from the river. I turn back and see a large but majestic swan emerge from the crystal clear river with a string of pearls on its beak. The swan turns its head at me and nods. I gawk at the beautiful bird which causes the goddess to giggle. She composes herself and pats the swan's head. "It's a beautiful bird, isn't it?"
"The most exquisite looking swan, devi," I say as the swan gently lands the pearls near my feet. Frowning in confusing, I look at the goddess and ask, "Why did it give the pearls to me? They are yours."
"What do the pearls signify, my child?"
"Wisdom, purity, innocence, serenity and protecting, Maa."
Devi smiles. I see her face shine like the full moon. "Very good. That's true. Now let me tell you something." Her lovely fingers pick a delicate pearl. "Pearls are very difficult to find. They lie deeper and hidden in dark waters. Only the ones brave into the embrace the darkness of the ocean. You have to delve deep and have patience to look for them. There will be many obstacles on your way. You might feel tiredness seep into your bones. Sometimes you will see your companions getting these shiny pearls quickly while you barely find a shell on the water bed. You must remember that to get the best, sometimes you have to wait for long and keep persevering. One day, your hard work will pay off, and these pearls will be yours. Now, pearls also represent wisdom, don't they?"
I nod my head eagerly. She continues, "The quest for diamonds teaches you lessons of immense hard work and the sight to never consider any piece of coal or a stone to be ordinary. The journey to seek pearls gives you lessons of patience and the strength to take bold decisions to get the best of your life with grace, kindness and knowledge."
Her swan nuzzles on my thigh and I feel my legs stiffen which causes the goddess to chuckle. "Don't worry, my swan won't bite you. The worse it can do is drench you in river water to indulge in some mischief."
I nervously laugh and touch the swan's head with my index finger. My eyes then travel upwards to gaze at Maa's face. Her face softens with a knowing look. "You have a question, don't you?"
"There are nights, I hear a song far away from my house. It makes me wonder who I am. There's a lake near my house. Each time I peer at my reflection, I see a woman decked in red and dazzling jewels. For a man, she would be sensuality personified, but to me she appears divine. She has a sharp gaze that would make tongues stutter to make any remark at her. Then, the red clothes and gold jewels disappear. She then appears dressed in white with pearls and flowers around her wrists and legs. She looks lovely but in a different way. She radiates pure love. She looks at everyone with the eyes of a charmed lover, speaks words that would boggle the mind and make you question everything you have ever known. Later, she smiles knowing only a choice few would understand her language and her words. After a while, their faces morph into my reflection and I have never found myself look that divinely charming even in the mirror. Should I know who these women are? Are they me or will I grow up to be them?"
The goddess closes her eyes once again. Her form starts expanding to the skies. Golden efflugence effuses from her being while her fingers start to play the veena once again. She answers.
"You are them, yes, my child. You will grow up to be them. But remember, don't consider them to be separate from each other or from you. Red is for passion, energy and love. Men in your time will confuse this form as lust. You must build yourself in such a way that no man with a narrowed vision can hurl abuse your divinely form. Many are going to speak against you, even for the way you carry yourself and move. You, my child, are going to rise than them. I shall not speak much about your appearance in red. You will have another goddess tell you more, a goddess who often is misinterpreted and shunned today. Let me tell you about the woman in white."
Maa plays a beautiful set of chords that make me feel as if I am floating in air amongst twinkling stars. It feels blissful. Is this how sat-chit-ananda feels like?
A melodious laughter from Maa fills my ears. "Now, that's something for you to find out. I will not reveal everything to you. But for now, let me tell you about the second woman."
"She has the gaze and a hear of a lover. She will fall in love with everything life will give her, be it thorns or roses. Books are her companions. She is going to be a wonderful being of light, love, kindness and wisdom. She wears white to represent the holy and divine knowledge she has learnt in her life and other lifetimes to come. The pearls on her body stand for the important lessons on patience, beauty, virtue and serenity. She is a very mysterious woman. Some say she has the most complex thoughts about life, while a rare minds get through her way of flowery words and poetry to understand one simple Truth -- this Truth is again your quest to realize and understand. You cannot tie her to relationships and desires in the mortal sense. She will love you dearly, do everything that is best for you, but do not expect her to write ballads and love songs for you. Her love songs and poems speak about a different Lover. Who is that Lover is another question whose answer you must find yourself. She will be your guiding force in life and until you transform into her. As I said, you, we, them are all One."
Tears flow out of my eyes. Perhaps, I did find my answer to my questions. Maybe, I will grow and transform myself in the best way possible and help others in the same. Just like Maa said, we all are One, we all can help, learn and grow together.
"Jhia lo prasad ta ne kana emiti thakurani ku dekhuchu." (Daughter, have the prasad. Why are you staring at the goddess like that?"
****** ***** ******* ******** ******** *********
This is the longest in the series. I am really grateful for your comments and the amount of love you have poured out for this series. A lot of it is personal in these tales that happened to me in dreams and in some of my worst days. Maybe that's why it connects you all too. I promise, once I am done with this series, I will reply to all of your comments and reblogs.
And here you can make a guess about the next goddess as Maa said she will tell you about the woman in red, do you all have any guesses who will she be? This is a very easy answer 👀

Significance of Saraswati Puja
Saraswati Puja is a deeply revered festival celebrated across India, especially in educational institutions and households that value learning, wisdom, and artistic pursuits. It is dedicated to Goddess Saraswati, the deity of knowledge, music, arts, and wisdom. Observed mainly on Basant Panchami, Saraswati Puja marks the arrival of spring and serves as an auspicious day to seek divine blessings for intellectual and creative growth.
we will explore the significance of Saraswati Puja, its rituals, and how Ralfh Agarbatti & Dhoop Sticks enhance the spiritual experience of this sacred festival.
The Importance of Saraswati Puja
1. Celebration of Knowledge and Wisdom Goddess Saraswati is regarded as the embodiment of wisdom, intellect, and creativity. She is often depicted as a serene figure clad in white, sitting on a lotus, holding a veena (musical instrument) and sacred scriptures. Devotees, especially students, teachers, and artists, seek her blessings to excel in their respective fields. Performing Saraswati Puja symbolizes the triumph of wisdom over ignorance and enlightens the minds of seekers. It is an ideal day for young learners to begin their educational journey, known as 'Akshar Abhyas,' where children write their first letters under divine guidance.
2. Spiritual and Cultural Significance Saraswati Puja is not just about seeking academic success; it also has deep cultural and spiritual significance. The festival marks the arrival of spring, a season associated with new beginnings, positivity, and prosperity. During the puja, people place books, musical instruments, and art-related objects near the idol of Goddess Saraswati as an offering. This symbolizes respect for education and creativity, reinforcing the belief that knowledge is sacred and must be pursued with devotion and sincerity.

A special story about Basant Panchami at Hazrat Nizamuddin Auliya!
It so happened that the dear nephew of Hazrat Nizamuddin Auliya died at a very young age. Grief-stricken, Hazrat was strolling at chabutara-e-yaaran, a place near his khanqah. When Hazrat's dearest Amir Khusraw got to know about his condition, he decided to cheer him up. It was Basant Panchami and people in Delhi were going to the Kalka ji Mandir to offer season's first wheat crop to the Goddess.
Upon asking the reason for the offering, people told Amir Khusraw that this would please the Goddess and she will bless them all. Hazrat Amir Khusraw picked some freshly bloomed mustard plants and reached chabutara-e-yaaran. He kept the mustard plants on the feet of Hazrat Nizamuddin Auliya. Hazrat asked with curiosity, "Cheest, What is this?". To which Hazrat Amir Khusraw replied, "Arab Yaar, tori basant manayi (O Arab friend! I am celebrating basant for you). Hazrat Nizamuddiun Auliya smiled heartedly.
From that day onwards basant is celebrated in the Chishti khanqah.

Understanding the Essence of Maha Kumbh Mela
The Maha Kumbh Mela is deeply rooted in Indian mythology and spirituality. It is believed to originate from the ancient tale of the Samudra Manthan (churning of the ocean) when drops of the nectar of immortality fell at four sacred locations, including Prayagraj. Since then, this grand event has been celebrated every 12 years, attracting millions of pilgrims.
Prayagraj's Triveni Sangam holds a special place in Hindu tradition. Taking a holy dip here is considered a path to Moksha, or liberation from the cycle of rebirth. The Maha Kumbh Mela is not just a religious event; it is a confluence of culture, devotion, and spirituality, making it a must-experience occasion.
The Significance of Shahi Snan
Among the many rituals of the Maha Kumbh Mela, the Shahi Snan stands out as the most revered. Known as the "royal bath," this ritual is believed to cleanse the soul of all sins and pave the way for spiritual awakening. It symbolizes divine purification and liberation.
The Shahi Snan begins with the ceremonial bathing of Naga Sadhus and other ascetics, who are the first to take a dip in the Triveni Sangam. This act is followed by millions of devotees who immerse themselves in the sacred waters. The Shahi Snan is more than a ritual; it is a spiritual journey that connects the devotee to the divine.
Key Shahi Snan Dates for 2025
The Maha Kumbh Mela 2025 is marked by six key bathing days, including three significant Shahi Snan dates. These auspicious days are chosen based on astrological calculations and hold immense spiritual importance.
January 14, 2025 - Makar Sankranti: The first Shahi Snan of the Maha Kumbh Mela. On this day, pilgrims believe that bathing in the Triveni Sangam will bring blessings and prosperity.
January 29, 2025 - Mauni Amavasya: This is considered the most sacred day of the Maha Kumbh, attracting the largest number of pilgrims. It commemorates the vow of silence taken by Rishabh Dev.
February 3, 2025 - Basant Panchami: The final Shahi Snan day of 2025, symbolizing knowledge and new beginnings.
These dates highlight the celestial alignments that enhance the spiritual potency of the rituals performed during this sacred event.
Rituals and Pilgrimage at Maha Kumbh 2025
The Maha Kumbh Mela is a hub of rituals that resonate with spiritual energy. From the Shahi Snan to Kalpavas, each activity reflects devotion and tradition. Kalpavasis, or devotees who dedicate the month to prayer and meditation, live by the riverbanks and immerse themselves in spiritual discipline.
Another key aspect of the Maha Kumbh Mela rituals is the presence of Sadhus, Saints, and spiritual leaders. Their discourses and blessings add a profound layer to the experience. Visitors often engage in Prasad offerings, chanting, and temple visits to deepen their spiritual connection.
For pilgrims, the journey to the Triveni Sangam is itself transformative. Walking across the pontoon bridges, offering prayers at the ghats, and witnessing the Ganga Aarti are moments that stay etched in memory. The Triveni Sangam pilgrimage is a holistic spiritual experience, blending faith, culture, and devotion.
Infrastructure and Facilities for Maha Kumbh 2025
The Uttar Pradesh government has undertaken significant efforts to ensure the safety, comfort, and convenience of pilgrims attending the Maha Kumbh Mela. A record-breaking 30 pontoon bridges have been constructed, designed to support heavy footfall and ensure seamless movement.
Modernized ghats equipped with high-mast lighting, drinking water facilities, and RO systems enhance the experience for visitors. Additionally, mobile toilets, changing rooms, and benches have been installed to prioritize cleanliness and comfort. Green spaces along the riverbanks further elevate the serene atmosphere of the Mela.
The government has also implemented strict safety measures, including crowd management systems and 24/7 monitoring. These initiatives aim to make Maha Kumbh 2025 not only spiritually enriching but also environmentally sustainable.
