Dinka people of South Sudan: the legendary cattle herders race Abigar (and tiger hunters). In Dinka culture, young men are inducted as adults. During this ceremony, after an initiation test, they are given a second name, then marked on their forehead with a sharp object. Several comparative studies of historical data on height and nutrition have placed the Dinkas as the tallest people in the world. The Dinka are an agricultural-pastoralist people of South Sudan, living in the regions of Bahr al-Ghazal (Nile Basin), Jonglei, as well as southern Kordofan and the Upper Nile. The religious traditions, as well as the lifestyle of the Dinkas, were in opposition to the campaign of Islamization of the indigenous populations of the South desired by the central power in Khartoum. Like their Nuer neighbors, the Dinkas entered into armed rebellion with the regime in 1983. This second Sudanese civil war, which lasted 21 years, left thousands of Dinkas dead. Others fled and found themselves by the thousands in refugee camps in Sudan, or in neighboring countries such as Kenya or Ethiopia.

> A quote comes to mind. ‘It starts as a tingle in the cooch.’ That’s from American Horror Story, specifically to describe the feeling of becoming the supreme. You are NOT becoming the supreme, but it sort of feels like it. There’s something there in you that you don’t recognize, and of course, the tingle.
>You’re amused at first. You don’t know what happened to you, exactly, but you can hover for a few seconds, you can move around and things aren’t as painful. Your usual depression thoughts are a little more intense than usual, but that’s not a big deal. You can handle it.
> Until you can’t.
> Somewhere along the line, you realize that the thoughts you’re having aren’t thoughts. They’re visions. Of your future, of your life. You think that’s impossible at first, but you test the theory on Martha by predicting the minute she’d yelp at a car, and then predicted the license plate on said car.
> You’re not amused any more.
> Your future foretells weeks, months, years, decades, centuries of this. Of people coming and going, of never feeling satisfied, or even at peace. Every day feels like every day you’ve felt since you left. You can only assume it stops if you go back home, but you don’t see that, so you must never go.
> You can’t do this. You can’t live like this.

@iincendiar
❝ Madam! Please wait! ❞
Down the street comes charging a massive.. suit of armor? There was no sign of any individual inside of it, yet the mail moved as freely as it would as if there were. He seemed to be holding something in his massive hands, clutched tightly to avoid dropping it in his rush- to which he came to a screeching halt, stopping close by.
He was.. catching his breath now? How does a suit of armor breathe? Better yet, just how far did he run?
❝ Ha.. phew.. I had noticed.. you had dropped something.. a long distance back- I believe this belongs to you, fair maiden? ❞
Whatever he held in his hands, it didn’t seem to bother him (perhaps that was because he had no idea if it WAS actually this individual’s item, not did he actually pay attention to it).
#iincendiar#;; sorry for the late starter!#;; hope you don't mind me using golumel?#;; i thought about using abigar but she's a very finicky muse to work with considering the condition she's in

Angels and Demons AU: Demons
Here is part 2 of 3 for the Angels and Demons Au! This post will only feature Demons and the Black Army! You can find Part 1 Red Army Angels in my masterlist in my bio! ^_^
Cradle is divided into the Angels Territory and the Demons Territory. Both angels and demons co-exist with their humans, having their own personalities and quirks. They speak with their human and can even create a spiritual form if needed that only their human can see.
Demons:
There are no laws stating that one has to from any pact with a demon in Black Territory, leaving many of its citizens as regular human beings. However, it is rare to find someone living in Black Territory without a demon companion of some kind.
Children are assigned a familiar to watch over them, much like a guardian angel.
Many adults pass on their familiar to young children in their family to create a pact with a low level demon for protection over their families. These demons are easily to control and can only wreck minor havoc if lost.
Like the Reds, High ranking and powerful demons can only be found among the Chosen 13 in the Army. These demons to not necessarily need permission to take control of their human. All they must do is break their will.
Army officers choose their demon based on their rank and personal strengths and weakness.
Ray: Demon: Abaddon, the King of the Abyss. A strong-willed leader of the Legion of demons. Abaddon is well respected among all demons and is the best fit for ruling by the side of the King of Spades. He is diligent in his work, and finds Ray’s laid back personality to fit well with him, as Abaddon also enjoys taking naps and going to bed early. He dislikes cats, therefore hides himself whenever Belle is around.
Sirius: Demon: Abigar. A demon who can predict the future and possesses expert military and tactical advice, making him the perfect demon for the second in command and level-headed Sirius. Abigar is too smart for his own good, and finds the Queen of Spades to bore him with his hobbies of planting flowers and caring for them. He would much rather be planning battles or reconnaissance missions. He does like Chutney, even going as far to play with her when the whim arises.
Luka: Demon: Orias, Marquis of Hell. He finds Luka to be the worst companion, as Luka originally had a guardian angel when he arrived at the Black Army. Orias killed the angel in a rage and then took control of Luka’s body during the pact forming. Orias injured dozens of soldiers before being overpowered by Luka’s will. Luka gained his respect by taming him. Being a dramatic and bi-polar demon, he needed the levelheadedness that comes with Luka’s personality. Orias also adores that Luka has a rage inside him that not many know about, and he loves the food that Luka cooks, especially anything very spicy.
Seth: Demon: Leviathan, an androgynous water demon that takes the form of a water serpent when seen by their human. Seth has nicknamed them Levi. He takes more baths than ever before, because Levi is in their element when around water. Levi hates the sun and warm weather, tending to stick to night missions or working in the rain, which is perfect for the stealthy Ten of Spades. Levi is just as dramatic as Seth, if not worse, giving everyone a headache when something goes awry.
Fenrir: Demon: Thammuz, a lower level demon than the rest, but was the inventor of artillery, guns, fire, and stimulates men to torture others. He only wishes to bestow his knowledge of weapons on his human, and cause mischief around the battlefield. He enjoys the chaos that Fenrir brings to the battlefield and uses it to create problems for either side. He is one of the hardest to keep in check, as he doesn’t care about the war, only about causing chaos. When not in battle, Thammuz gets bored easily and will torment Fenrir in his spare time.
Army Demons:
All of the high ranking demons can summon familiars, spirits and other demonic entities to be controlled during battle. This is rarely used, as the demon must take full control of their human to perform the summoning.
Like the Angels, Demons leave a distinct mark on their human to show their level of power. This mark can be seen all the time, but grows darker and brands into the skin when the demon takes more control of the body.
These demons can fly without the use of wings, but only at night.
Their powers grow exponentially stronger during full moons, new moons, and any special blood moons, eclipses, etc.
