CITIZEN 😇F HEAVEN 📖 Hebrews 13:14 For here we have no permanent city, but we are looking for the one which is to come. 🤔What does it mean to live as a citizen of Heaven? 🤔What does it look like to live as a citizen of heaven? 🙋🏼‍♀️The writer of Hebrews makes it clear that the world isn't our home we're meant to look forward to a home that is yet to come. Part of what that means is that we can expect suffering while we are here on earth. Suffering unites us with Jesus Christ and we are not to fear or shine away from it. Rather than conceal our lives around trials trying to stay safe, secure, and free from discomfort. We're invited to establish our lives around generosity. 🤔 What might that look like for you? 💁🏽‍♀️ Looking at people who are looking forward to means that we show Hospitality to strangers then fearing them. It means we remember those who are in prison and those being mistreated. It means we don't love money. As you consider the gifts that God has given you. 💁🏽‍♀️ How can you keep those burning bright? 💁🏽‍♀️ What will you do to make sure that the fire for Jesus does not die? Fan into flame the gifts of God He wants you to remember and rekindle the unique and every precious gift that you have to offer the world. 🙏🏾 GOD WILL CATCH YOU 📖 Matthew 14:30 But when he saw [the effects of] the wind, he was frightened, and he began to sink, and he cried out, “Lord, save me!” When Jesus said, "Come," Peter climbed over the side of the boat and walked on water. Aside from Jesus, no other person in human history had ever done such a thing—not even the greatest of Israel's prophets. That moment of victory didn't last long, though. At some point between leaving the boat and making it to Jesus' side, Peter's human doubt seems to catch up with his enthusiastic faith. He suddenly notices the ferocious wind and the size of the waves it was driving up. Fear takes over his faith, and when you're trying to walk on water, there's no margin of error. Peter begins to sink, crying out to Jesus to save him. It's essential to notice that Peter's total confidence in the power of Jesus allowed Him to walk on the water, as Jesus did. It was fear replacing confidence which caused him to sink. PICK UP YOUR SWORD 📖 Ephesians 6:17 Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God 🙌🏾 📖 Ephesians 6:10–20 concludes Paul's practical application of Christianity with a famous series of metaphors. Here, he describes the ''armor of God.'' In this passage, Paul uses the allegory of a Roman soldier's basic equipment to show how the components of Christianity work together as we strive to serve God. The soldier's tools include a belt, breastplate, shoes, shield, helmet, and sword. In parallel, the Christian's implements are truth, righteousness, the gospel, faith, salvation, and the Word of God. Christians are also given prayer.
