Today I have signed to be an Earth Protector at stopecocide.earth. It felt fucking amazing. Also, I have signed the climate emergency act that Greta Thunberg wrote alongside her fellow activists.

After this, whilst I was having my vegetarian dinner and homemade hummus, I watched 2040. An amazing Australian film that shows the amazing things we have already to improve our planet and how our planet could look like in 2040 with those changes applied. In fact, we do not have much time. We are currently on 412.82 ppm which is the highest we have ever been, at least for the past 800,000 years. I was born at 365 ppm. And in a matter of 22 years we have risen approx. 47ppm. Crazy, right?

There are things we could do, our leaders can definitely do it! There is money to do things, there is will to do things.

We have to demand things like social, racial and gender equality, reduce drastically co2 emissions, reduce the use of fossil fuels and stop deforestation. The problems go on and on. We should advocate for a plant based diet since according to the British Dietetic Association, “are becoming more popular and if they are wellplanned, can support healthy living at every age and life-stage.”

We have to change now people, because we do NOT want to be reaching a point of no turning back. Which unfortunately we are. We are already on a tipping point.

We have to become conscious and spread awareness and educate ourselves on any way we can contribute for a better world because it is a crime to continue a lifestyle like such. It is suicide, genocide, ecocide.

And with this I say goodnight and tomorrow it’s a new day, and we will do better tomorrow 💚

Sometimes, it takes a black swan to enter our lives to show us at once the precarity of what we take for granted; the pointlessness of predictions and projections; but also our ability to adjust and improve. If we expended as much energy as we do, putting our nose to the grind, to instead aim higher and do the right thing - we could fly. The pandemic made the world pause. George Floyd and Iyad Hallaq made us feel in unison. There's no need to throw down the "world order", just make it work for all. Set new goals. We can create the world we would be happy to live in. Accept no substitutes. 💜
