I saw ur post ab Rhaenyra and pronunciation and then I saw that ur Aussie (so am I) and I’ve always pronounced ASOIAF names differently than the show/other fans and I was wondering if that was just me or aussies in general. for example the show says: deh-neir-iss or de-nair-ess; I say da-NAIR-eez. and the show tends to say Cer-say but I say Cer-see. and I say Ay-gone instead of EGG-on and RAY-neez instead of Ray-nyss. idk if it’s just me tho lmao? also you’ve got me hooked on petyrxsansa lol 💗

I think lots of the characters on the show say the names this way as well and tbh I think peter dinklage, who can’t help being an american trying to do a british accent, butchers the names the most. My dad once spent a few days in jail for sitting on my roof with a BB gun and sniping the kids who came to egg us (we were a super popular target because we moved into a house that was abandoned for years that kids used to use to get fucked up in so they hated us) and then when me and my sister were sorting/trading our candy the cops showed up and took him away

And where is the nair?  Was nair-slapping only a thing by me (you slap somebody with hair removal cream in the back of the head, they think you shaving-creamed them until it starts to burn, then their hair comes out in a big awkward slap-mark chunk. We also had kids who would go around in their cars heating pennies with lighters and throwing them at people.  One year there was just a bunch of kids hiding in the bushes of house parties who would straight windex other kids in the eye and they got my brother and he had to go to the hospial.  

My area is the poor area in a rich district so they used to TERRORIZE my neighborhood and this other neighborhood close to me.  Its not a thing anymore, it wound down around the time I was in middle school, and it was mostly older kids doing it to each other but my friend and I got hot pennies thrown at us once and called homophobic slurs (which sucked bc i was like in love with her and not out) because she dressed as Dorothy so I dressed as the Wicked Witch of the West and it cooked an Abe Lincoln into my green face paint but that was the only time we ever got pulled up on, but because everybody was rich and had cars it was super easy to come into the poor areas and fuck with us.
