Spiritual Healing: Chakras & Color Therapy
It’s such a colorful world with all the colors around us. It’s just unimaginable what the world would be like without color. But on second thought, even black and white are two very specific colors. Colors, color psychology suggests different colors can evoke psychological reactions; each color with its own very specific connotation marks its individuality. Everyone may have his favorite color, with which we feel spiritually elevated, comfortable or soothing; that specific color defines a part of us, happy or sad or other.
Colors fall into seven categories and each category has its variant shades, which constitutes of all the colors we see today. Each color has its specific wavelength, short or long; and the wavelength affects different parts of our brain as it’s proven by researchers that our skins react differently to the wavelength of different colors; such influences stimulate our energy and senses to achieve a balanced body, mind, and soul. Color therapy, the use of color to cultivate energy for healing to treat the ailment relating to the body and mind can trace back to very ancient times in Egypt, Greece, India, and China. The practice of color therapy by channeling the energy in the body is associated with chakras. Chakras in different positions of the body signal the overall status of healthiness, balanced chakras facilitate the holistic health and vice versa.
What are chakras? Many of you would ask. The word chakra comes from the Sanskrit language, which indicates a revolving wheel or vortex of energy. Chakras are electrical energy centers which are created by the endocrine glands and nerve centers in the body. Chakras are channels of energy located along the central axis of the body, which is the spine. There are seven chakras in the body and they keep each other in check. If the balance is thrown off, there will be a negative effect on your physical and mental health. Each of the seven chakras is associated with one color of the rainbow. The root chakra is associated with red, the sacral chakra with orange, the solar plexus chakra with yellow, the heart chakra with green, the throat chakra with blue, the third-eye chakra with indigo, the crown chakra with violet. And thus by wearing different colors, we channel the energy in our body as in different colors the wavelength varies, and that has something to do with the energy in our body.
With the color therapy associated with chakras, Athleisure brand Abeātis this year features a neon collection with refreshing colors, to channel fresh and positive energies for this summer. Fashion brands, no matter big or small; if we set aside from the design and style, the use of color to keep up with the trends or even creating trends is an immortal theme. As individuals, we normally choose the color that speaks to us to wear, be it matching our skin, be it a specific the shade of our favorite color; but subconsciously while we choose, our chakras in our body tells us to cause it makes us feel good, by saying feeling good I mean our brains sending positive signals out.
Energy healing as associated with chakras, as an alternative therapy to restore the balance and harmony of the body and mind has long been practiced. Each color of the seven colors correlating to each chakra in the charts has its own healing properties. Check the chakras in your body and choose the right color to wear to restore the balance and harmony.
