Ahmedabad to Dholera Rapid Metro Rail transport system will be completed on 2023 and will be extended till Bhavanagar in future.

WHAT IS THE STATUS OF DHOLERA SIR NOW?
Currently, Dholera SIR Work progress was started in March, 2016 after DICDL allotted projects to two different companies working.
· 1st phase of 22.94 Sq KM is done now to welcome the activation area industrial companies.
· L&T was given the contract of construction done by 72 KMs of roads at the cost of 1734 cr.
· Cube Construction was given the contract to construct to ABCD Building where they will build the structure of 16500 sq.mtr at the cost of 73.00 crore.
· L&T is construction well and as per my last visit to Dholera SIR, it has completed almost 45% project where they are targeting the deadline of September, 2023.
· Cube construction had completed 75% of structure work where their projects deadline is September, 2023.
· The Dholera Industrial City Development (DICDL) has undertaken the implementation of 50 MLD Water Treatment Plant at Dholera in Ahmedabad District.
· Ahmedabad-Dholera Express or Dholera Metro Rail project got Environment Clearance in February, 2018 and we are expecting it’s development to be started by this year end.
· The Dholera International Airport is a part of Dholera SIR of Gujarat, India.
.The greenfield airport will be built on 1700 acres of land and 1426 hectares of Government land has been reserved for Airport at Navagam Village of Dholera, Taluka in Ahmedabad District, 29 km from Dholera SIR and 80 km from Ahmedabad. Dholera Greenfield international airport located at a distance of 100 kilometers South West of Ahmedabad.

Dholera Smart City  Is India’s  1st Greenfield  Smart City In Dholera SIR
Central government has granted Rs. 3,000 crore as seed money for commencement of the Dholera SIR project – An ambitious dholera smart city project, first of its kind to be developed in India.
Built around an area of 920 square kilometers, development work has already been started on a strategic area of 22.5 kilometers. While majority of the land in this region is privately owned and shall have to be acquired from owners in a phase wise manner, 10 percent of the land is state owned and the state government is making provision for it as its share of equity capital.

The trunk infrastructure comprises of building roads, power and gas supply and underground provision for utilities such as drainage, sewerage system and solid waste transfer and treatment plants. The phase 1 of development is expected to get completed by 2019 while rest of the project shall be completed in several phases over the next thirty years.
Dholera SIR Project is also expected to pull in a lot of investors owing to the growth potential it seeming offers due to its first ever distinctive features. Government is also expecting to raise funds for the project through private players and foreign investors. The programme director of the Dholera Special Investment Region (DSIR), Mr. Jagdish Salgaonkar had told PTI at the World Cities Summit 2014 in Singapore that “Marketing of the sites at Dholera for setting up industrial and manufacturing bases has also started among Indian and international investors.” As per him, the investment move has already been initiated by “Japan Investment Bank” which had invested commercially into this project.
Dholera SIR shall be the start of India turning into a manufacturing and industrial hub which shall be mainly led by international investors. The underlying inspiration for the project has been derived from the industrial townships in Japan and South Korea which are designed in a similar manner and are successful and commercially viable models as on date.

One of the seven cities that has been planned on the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor, Dholera SIR is so far the largest project being undertaken in form of smart city – A project that shall surpass the size of Shanghai by six times.
